  1. There was no getting out of it. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. Or fuel cans. Actually, at this rate, they probably wouldn't pass anything. ...except maybe away.
  2.
  3. Gee, what a cheery thought.
  4.
  5. He knew what was coming. He knew it. He'd known it since the moment he got bitten that he might not make it. But he never suspected that the rest wouldn't; he never once even thought that Dot --
  6.
  7. Yakko glanced to her, laid out in the seat beside him, her head in his lap. She looked kinda peaceful. Far more than he probably did. Maybe she'd never wake up-- ... no, no, she wouldn't. Not now. Not ever. Maybe later, but not here. Wouldn't be so bad, would it?
  8.
  9. The ever cheerful voice in the front seat was so helpful. Yakko was pretty sure even Gilligan would've been a better choice to travel with. At least he was sorry when he doomed the group. Repeatedly.
  10.
  11. It wasn't fair! None of this was! He didn't mind going without. He'd suffer a broken arm, or worse - anything, fine, sure, wouldn't be the worst thing on this trip. It wasn't him he was worried about. Well okay. Maybe he was, just a little. Or a lot. But there were others here that held his concern more.
  12.
  13. And slowly, he'd watched as what little hope he had dwindled away, blown on the wind and carried in happy tones by a derisive, dismissive messenger. More bites. Ren. (Sorry Ren... especially now. Oh well, he could kill them for it when they died) Dot...
  14.
  15. That was not a choice anyone ever could expect him to make. And now, Ren gone and the three on the brink of death, there was nothing further he could think of to do. He'd sat there, bitten three times with no signs. Nada. Sister sib gets bitten once? Not one, but two different viruses. Not even Rigby was safe, it looked like.
  16.
  17. And there was nothing he could do, nothing left, to save either of them.
  18.
  19. He could have argued, when GLaDOS made the decision to end it. But Yakko was too tired, fed up, and -- and something -- to answer. Too much strain, and the looming inevitability of death..
  20.
  21. It didn't matter anymore, how far it was away. At least one of them would have succumbed before they reached it. Something he could not live with.
  22.
  23. It may have been pure selfishness, or even cowardice that he didn't fight it. He could have protested! They might have made it! But even if he were to die just after, he couldn't bear to lose Dot. Or even Rigby. The thought of just one dying was too much to handle. He almost hoped he'd die first, just so he wouldn't have to see.
  24.
  25. Almost as much as he'd hoped none of them would die at all.
  26.
  27. And so, broken and disconsolate, he did the one thing he could make himself do. That one final thing, as GLaDOS pulled the neurotoxin online, that he was still conscious enough to think of, still time for.
  28.
  29. He pulled Dot into one arm, Rigby into another. Pulled them as close to himself as he possibly could manage.
  30.
  31. And then, one dying sibling in one arm, and a dying p-sibling in the other, he closed his eyes, and waited.
