  1. -----------Ruby Rose's Story-----------
  2. Chapter One
  3.
  4. A painful strike sends you flying and you tumble into the snow.
  5.
  6. In the next few moments, you find yourself on your back, looking up into the sky above a frozen, barren, wasteland.
  7.
  8. You hear the footsteps of your attacker heavily crunching toward you.
  9.
  10. The pain you feel is great, but you think you can manage a counter-offensive.
  11.
  12. Before you can do anything, a voice reaches out to you.
  13.
  14. "Can we please stop playing games, dear Rose?"
  15.
  16. What do you do?
  17. A. Stand and Fight! It's your only way out of this!
  18. B. Get up and Retreat into the Forrest! Maybe the monsters there will be enough to distract him.
  19. C. Lay Down. If he doesn't end you here, you might find an opportunity.
  20.
  21. It's all you can do to launch yourself off of a hand-spring to an upright position. You ignore the pain and prepare a strike with your scythe.
  22.
  23. You launch yourself forward, spinning in blitz like a cornered animal.
  24.
  25. The hooded figure of your attacker quickly anticipates your attacks and doges them. You find yourself wishing deeply that you had finished your homemade scythe model. You could use the sniper-rifle right now.
  26.
  27. But now isn't the time for regrets. You continue your thrall of strikes. You're getting tired.
  28.
  29. "You are way to persistent Little Red! Learn to give--"
  30.
  31. You rebound off a tree and manage to land a single heel dead-center on your opponents face!
  32.
  33. This achievement gives you a thrill, but before you have a chance to enjoy it, your opponent sends a shockwave rippling through your gut.
  34.
  35. "--UP!"
  36.
  37. The hit drops you into unconsciousness.-----
  38. (Continuing!)
  39.
  40. You wake up shocked in a cold sweat!
  41.
  42. The room around you is boarded in wood and you feel the warmth of the fire place.
  43.
  44. Uncle Crow sits to the right of your bed pleasantly reading a book titled "A Grimm Fantasy" until he notices you've woken.
  45.
  46. "Ah, back with the living I see."
  47.
  48. "Yeah, no thanks to you Uncle Crow! You hit me way to hard!"
  49.
  50. "Right, and you coming at an unarmed old fart like me with a scythe blade makes you the victim? You're in training Little Red, training to prepare you for the monsters out there, because they won't be holding back. Think a little harder about your options. I used my Aura to heal your wounds, but if you get into a situation like that again, try a different strategy next time!"
  51.
  52. He points his thumb to the stool next your bed.
  53. "Now, have a cookie. Don't eat them all in one bite."
  54.
  55. A. You've got the Munchies. Have a bite. or Two. Or Five.
  56. B. You don't feel like eating. You want to go outside to train some more.
  57. C. You're cold. You want to move over to the fireplace.
  58.
  59. Well... you are kind of hungry. A bite wouldn't hurt.
  60.
  61. You begin to ravenously devour the little palettes of Chocolate Chipped goodness. You eat them so fast, it's almost as if they disappear the moment they enter your mouth.
  62.
  63. Once finished, Uncle Crow sits across from you with a frightened look on his face as you guzzle down a pint of milk to keep from chocking.
  64.
  65. "What?"
  66.
  67. "Nothing, it's just. You eat those just like your mother used to."
  68.
  69. The comment brings you a bitter sweet mixture of joy and sadness. But you move on from the thought.
  70.
  71. "So, what next? Sniper practice? Shadow-Walking? Oh! Can we go Monster Hunting now!"
  72.
  73. "Next, we go home. You're far behind on your schoolwork and I'd rather not become a suspect of child abuse. Not like that moron Ozpin..."
  74.
  75. "Ozpin? Who's that?"
  76.
  77. "Old friend of mine. Don't worry about it. I'll leave so you can prepare your things. We are leaving tomorrow morning."
  78.
  79. "Awwwwwwwww!"
  80. ------Ruby Rose's Story--------
  81. Chapter 1 End.
  82.
  83. Who would you like to follow next?
  84. A. Weiss
  85. B. Blake
  86. C. Yang
  87.
  88.
  89. --------Yang Xiao Long's Story---------
  90. Chapter One
  91.
  92. You open the door to apartment 207, and enter what you can barely call a home.
  93.
  94. You father lies black-out drunk in the living room, while the TV blare's on at full volume, about a certain Blonde haired girl fighting off a few thugs in the neighborhood south of Signal Academy.
  95.
  96. You quickly drop your things in your room and turn the TV off.
  97.
  98. Your father is passed out. As per the norm. You can't help but feel pity for the poor old man.
  99.
  100. *sigh* "Dad. Dad get up and go to your bedroom. It's really late"
  101.
  102. He isn't responding. It seems your words can't reach him.
  103. This same routine everyday, wears down on your nerves and you get a little frustrated.
  104. What should you do now?
  105.
  106. A. Calm down, and try to wake him up again.
  107. B. Get angry and slap his druken face into consciousness.
  108. C. Forget him. You're tired. He can carry his own ass to bed. You don't owe him any favors.
  109.
  110. You kneel down and prop him up.
  111.
  112. "C'mon dad get up!"
  113.
  114. You strike him across the face, leaving a bright red mark on his cheek. That felt better than you though it should have.
  115.
  116. Your father awakes from his drunken stupor with surprise. The smell of the liquor on his breath almost makes you gag.
  117.
  118. "Huh?! Oh, hi there sweetheart. Did you just get home? What time is it?"
  119.
  120. You hold him by the neck of his shirt and answer his questions. This kind of behavior makes you sick.
  121.
  122. "Dad, get up and go to bed. You shouldn't be out there every ni---"
  123.
  124. "Hey, look now youn' lady! I'm the man of this hous' and I can go to sleep where I want!"
  125.
  126. He stands and walks to his room, nearly falling over multiple times.
  127.
  128. "Well, if you're such a big strong man, why the hell does two shots of Nectar get you so hammered?"
  129.
  130. Instead of a response, you hear a rather loud thud, followed by the beeping of your cell phone in your room.
  131.
  132. A. Go help Dad.
  133. B. Go check your phone
  134.
  135. Dad can take care of himself.... Probably.
  136.
  137. You walk to your room and check on your phone. It's Ruby. You are excited to hear from your little sister. She and Uncle Crow have been training in the mountains for days now.
  138.
  139. "Hello!"
  140.
  141. "Yang,that you?"
  142. "Yeah Ruby, how are you? How'd your training go?"
  143.
  144. "I dunno. I don't think i have the hang of it yet..."
  145.
  146. "Well hang in there Red, I can't wait to see how badass you get when you become a scythe Meister-- er Master."
  147. "Yeah! Me too. Hey, so Uncle Crow and I are back home, and speaking of badass, guess who I just watched take down 5 guys in row on the news today?"
  148.
  149. "...I have no idea what you're talking about."
  150.
  151. "Are you kidding me?! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen you do! You and Ember Selica are so awesome! You wouldn't believe how many fanboys you have now! Everyone at Signal is gonna FLIP when they find out that you saved---"
  152.
  153. "Whoa whoa whoa! Hold on there Ruby, no one at Signal is going to find out about that, are we clear! I don't want my friends and teachers to think I'm special."
  154.
  155. "I... I can't believe you just said that! You are special! You are so cool! I dare say, you're the bees-knees!"
  156.
  157. "Look, I don't want to be the bees-knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees, so pleeeeaaase don't tell anyone about this."
  158.
  159. "Okay okay. We'll see you how feel about that in 2 years when you're famous and you start a Beacon!"
  160.
  161. "Yeah yeah sure. We'll see. So ummm.... could you do me a tiny favor?"
  162.
  163. "What?"
  164.
  165. The question on your mind is weighting a bit heavily.
  166.
  167. A. Ask it. No need to be a baby.
  168. B. Don't ask it. No reason to impose.
  169.
  170.
  171. You decide to ask.
  172.
  173. "Can.. you ask Uncle Crow if I can stay with you guys for a while..."
  174.
  175. "What?"
  176.
  177. "Just for a while I mean! It'll be like a sleepover!"
  178.
  179. "Well, that sounds like fun! I'll ask Uncle Crow."
  180.
  181. As you hear Ruby's voice on the other side of the line, you feel a bit nervous about his response.
  182.
  183. "He says that you can talk to him about it when you come over after school tomorrow."
  184.
  185. "Alright, that sounds perfect."
  186.
  187. All You'd have to do to get Uncle Crow to cave in is just bat you eyelashes a bit. He'll be like putty in your hands!
  188.
  189. After you end the conversation, you go for a shower, and try to relax. While you dry yourself, you hear another thud.
  190.
  191. "Dad, are you okay?" No response.
  192.
  193. You hear a louder thud, and some crashing. Then you hear muffled voices from the other side of the wall.
  194. It's coming from your room!
  195.
  196. You begin to freak out. No time to put on clothes. You run out of the bathroom in a towel, and rush to your room, bursting through the door to check on things.
  197.
  198. Two men, dressed in red and black mobster outfits stop tearing apart your room, and look up at you.
  199. One of them points his gun, and the others raise their blades.
  200.
  201. You're caught off guard and don't know what to do.
  202.
  203. There's nothing else to do. You have to Act!
  204.
  205. -------Yang Xiao Long Story-------
  206. Chapter One END.
  207.
  208. Who's Next?
  209.
  210. A. Weiss
  211. B. Blake
  212.
  213.
  214. -------- Blake Belladonna's Story--------
  215. Chapter One.
  216.
  217. "GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE BRAT!!"
  218.
  219. You're running. Running like wind. You need to get away.
  220.
  221. You're tired and undernourished, but surprisingly, your legs keep you going.
  222.
  223. "You wont get away with this!"
  224. The mans voice trails off as you continue to run,but you still don't feel safe yet. You keep running with all your speed, then you hear the sound of police sirens doppling toward you.
  225.
  226. "Oh no... Dammit!"
  227.
  228. Up ahead you see a busy intersection, but all the cars stop as they hear the sounds of chase.
  229. The police cars easily catch up to you, and are maneuvering to head you off.
  230.
  231. What now?
  232.
  233. A. Round a corner
  234. B. Turn directly around
  235. C. Head for an Alley
  236.
  237. "Okay, gotta lose them somehow... There!"
  238.
  239. You take the nearest alley way to your right.
  240.
  241. You turn your head to see if you've been followed and accidentally run into someone and fall backwards.
  242.
  243. "Ow... Ugh, what's your problem! Can't you see me running? Who the heck are---"
  244.
  245. As you look up, you notice the figure before you. A tall, Red haired man wearing a mask that covers most of his face and a Black suit.
  246.
  247. "Oh, well i guess that explains it. You must be BLIND!"
  248.
  249. He doesn't respond to you. He seems to be ignoring you, but slowly walks toward you to help you up.
  250. You smack away his hand, and rise up on your own.
  251.
  252. "I don't have time for this."
  253.
  254. You start on your way, but the Mysterious man grabs your arm and brings you too him.
  255.
  256. "What the hell do you want, freak? Are you with the police?"
  257.
  258. "Hold out your hands."
  259.
  260. "Well now we know you aren't a mute, but i don't take orders from some weirdo!"
  261.
  262. He grabs your hand, and places a small black cube in it with the a strange picture of a Red Wolf on it.
  263.
  264. "Use it wisely."
  265.
  266. You are confused, but you don't have the time to question him. You are carrying a bit too much baggage. A couple of Dust crystal in your carrying bag, and this small black cube, weighting far more that it looks like it should in your hand.
  267.
  268. You can hear the police catching up to you!
  269. What do you do?
  270.
  271. A. Hide
  272. B. Run
  273.
  274. "Thanks... i guess."
  275.
  276. You pull away from his grip and begin a run down the long alley way. You plot a course and begin your tour.
  277.
  278. You jump onto a dumpster and rebound from one wall to the next, to the next, and manage to catch onto the nearest fire-escape, and begin your ascent.
  279.
  280. "Impressive..."
  281.
  282. By the time the police arrive, you are long gone.
  283.
  284. "Where did she go? This alley is a dead end, she couldn't have gotten far."
  285.
  286. "Hey you!"
  287.
  288. The mysterious man had watched you saunter off mere seconds before the police arrived.
  289.
  290. "Hey? You got a hearing problem? There was a girl that passed through here. did you see her? Which way did she go?"
  291.
  292. The mysterious man didn't respond and simply walked out of the alley onto the curb.
  293.
  294. MEANWHILE
  295.
  296. On a rooftop a few blocks away, you can still hear the police sirens investigating your escape while you catch your breath.
  297.
  298. You open your bag and take a look at your loot, and notice your injuries from your recent theft.
  299.
  300. "Not to bad. At least I'll have dinner for the next few months."
  301.
  302. You begin to take inventory of your prize.
  303.
  304. "That's 3 lightning, 3 Burn, and 4 Frost, all uncut."
  305.
  306. You lay on your back and take a look up at the night sky. It's beautiful. The twinkling stars. The Shattered moon. You wish to be out there with them. Free of this world.
  307.
  308. Moments after you close your eyes to rest you remember that man in the alley way, and what he gave you. You take a look around and you find the black cube next to your bag.
  309.
  310. You sit up to inspect it.
  311.
  312. What do you want to try?
  313.
  314. A. Bang it against the roofing
  315. B. Inspect the Symbols on it closely
  316. C. Toss it aside. It's just some dumb cube.
  317.
  318. You pick up the cube and start to fiddle with it.
  319. You notice it has creases along the edges and that the inside of each face is connected to a spherical central mechanism,
  320. but try as you might you can't manage to make it function in any way.
  321.
  322. Your frustration intensifies.
  323.
  324. "'Use it wisely'? How am I supposed to use it at all!"
  325.
  326. As you grow angrier, you decided smashing it would probably be more effective.
  327.
  328. You raise it in your hand and as you are about to pound it into the roofing, it begins to shine with a strange white glow!
  329.
  330. Caution overlaps interest, and you instinctively toss it away.
  331.
  332. Still in a glow, it bounces against the rooftop and falls into the alley below.
  333.
  334. Begrudgingly, you decide it might be interesting to find out what that was about and make you way down guided by it's glow.
  335.
  336. You pick up the cube and in the instant you do, the mechanism starts to unravel. The panels of the cube stretch out to form a grid-like figure flat on your palm. The light begins to focus and take form.
  337.
  338. A holographic projection fills your view with the shape of a large rectangle with a bladed edge and a handle infused with a trigger. It's obviously some kind of weapon. The holo-projection then emits the words "Gambol Shroud: Accept/Decline"
  339.
  340. A. Accept. Why not take it for a spin?
  341. B. Decline. I have no idea what the heck this thing is, or why that freak gave it to me.
  342.
  343.
  344. You press decline. The holo-projection dies out and the panels retract into their original form.
  345.
  346. You take a look at the cube and once again notice the design embroidered on one of the faces, only now you have time to think, and you easily connect the image to the name "White Fang"
  347.
  348. "White Fang? That gang that’s been capturing Grimm and has been doing all of those shady business dealings with the Schnee Corporation?"
  349.
  350. You start to feel increasingly nervous and confused. You feel as if someone is watching you.
  351.
  352. As you look over your shoulder you think "What does White Fang want with me? And why is their symbol red if they're the 'White Fang'?"
  353.
  354. That last part strikes more terror into your heart than anything. A gang with bad color coordination has to be really bad news!
  355.
  356. Now that you've caught your breathe, you feel it's about time to go and cash in. Something about this doesn't feel right.
  357.
  358. ELSEWHERE, well more like on A ROOFTOP OVERLOOKING THE CITY
  359.
  360. "Jetstream Steve. Come in Jetstream Steve"
  361.
  362. "I told you to call me Adam, Claire."
  363.
  364. "Oh, get that stick out of your ass. Besides, it's your code name. Have you made contact with the target yet?"
  365.
  366. "Yes. Well, she made contact with me, if anything."
  367.
  368. Adam stands tall, looking through a pair of binoculars focused on you.
  369.
  370. "She declined the weapon. She's smart. Cautious. She has amazingly good instincts, and the exact skill set recruits need. All I need to do now is convince her."
  371.
  372. "Well, get to it. We don't have much time, and if she is a viable candidate, then we need to recruit her as soon as possible."
  373.
  374. "Roger that."
  375.
  376. --------Blake Belladonna's Story---------
  377. Chapter One END.
  378.
  379. --------Weiss Schnee's Story--------
  380. Chapter One
  381.
  382. Day-by-day you preform you duties with calm regality, beauty, and grace.
  383.
  384. You attend classes on your estate, train in the Rapier sword style under the finest tutelage money can buy, attend chorus sessions, perform in theatrical dramas, and make appearances, all like the good little Heiress you are.
  385.
  386. Day-by-day you are the perfect princess, the perfect daughter.... but today is a special day.
  387.
  388. You sit at your desk in front of a mirror in your big white room quietly brushing your hair.
  389.
  390. After a brief period of time you hear the footsteps of one of your many high-heeled maids approaching your door.
  391.
  392. "Milady, my I come in?"
  393.
  394. "You may."
  395.
  396. A tall blonde woman strangely wearing a butler's uniform specifically tailored to her measurements walks in with a commanding but polite gait. You recognize her as Claire Galestrom, the head stewardess of your father's estate.
  397.
  398. "Master Weiss, the final rehearsal for tonight's performance will begin soon. Shall I escort you to the theatre?"
  399.
  400. You place you brush on you desk and approach her. You look at her with a defiant fury and ask
  401.
  402. "Will father be there this time?"
  403.
  404. "Now Weiss you know how busy your father is. For a man of his stature time is of the utmost essence, and the same goes for you."
  405.
  406. "Then what's the point? It's not like anyone else matters. Daddy never comes to my performances, and I'm sick of being carted around all day."
  407.
  408. "Now listen he--"
  409.
  410. "And just what do you care? All you people do is roam around like a bunch of zombies doing anything and everything people tell you to."
  411.
  412. "Madame, you know it's part of your responsibility as the Heiress to the Schnee Corporation. It's very much unlike you to be this petulant. I expect better from you."
  413.
  414. "Oh, who do you think you are, my mother?"
  415.
  416. TO BE IMMEDIATELY CONTINUED
  417.
  418. "No, I am your humble servant. As such, I am here to help you in any way I can. If you want to whine about something I'd be willing to listen, but I expect you to act mature and to not shirk your duties."
  419.
  420. You open your mouth, prepared to retort, but before you can say a word Claire shoots you an ice-cold glance as if to say 'not another word'
  421.
  422. "Are we clear?"
  423.
  424. You turn your back to her in defeat.
  425.
  426. "Good. I will be in the car while you prepare your things."
  427.
  428. She turns and leaves, but before closing the door she tries to grab your attention.
  429.
  430. "Oh, and Madame?"
  431.
  432. "What is it now?"
  433.
  434. You look to her, ready to rebuke any such comments toward your laziness, or your duties, but you simply find a wide smile.
  435.
  436. "Happy Birthday."
  437.
  438. "....Leave."
  439.
  440. She turns and leaves as the words fill you with a painful mixture and sadness and joy. You wipe the encroaching tears from your eyes and begin preparing your things.
  441.
  442. What would you like to bring with you?
  443.
  444. A. Your Sword. You rather like practicing your fencing, and the Studio is just across from the Theatre if you have some free time.
  445. B. Your hand Mirror. Important for appearances. It is always good to make sure your elegant beauty if maintained.
  446. C. Nothing. Travel light. All your costumes equipment are already at the Theatre.
  447. D. Both. Travel Heavy. It's a pain, but I girl has got to accessorize.
  448.
  449.
  450. You grab your Hand Mirror and once again check that your beauty is at it's peak before placing it in your purse.
  451.
  452. You walk through the lobby out onto the porch and find that Claire is waiting for you next to the car. She opens the door for you and you step inside and look out the window as the car begins to move along.
  453.
  454. "So... I guess you remembered?"
  455.
  456. "I most certainly did. And that's why I've planned a very special surprise for you after today's rehearsal."
  457.
  458. "What is it... never mind. I get it. 'Surprise' and all."
  459.
  460. Time passes and you find yourself reciting lines with the perfect bravado and impact.
  461.
  462. At this point in the play you and your egregious classmate are lost in the Emerald Forest and bickering about the most mundane bits of false character development you could ever imagine.
  463.
  464. "CUT! cut cut cut! Weiss, sweetie, could you please tone it down a bit. Your character is angry not exploding!"
  465.
  466. "Why is this my fault? She's the one who's over-acting every line! Besides, who even writes this junk!? It's nothing but two children scrapping like dogs!"
  467.
  468. "Look, this scene is a crucial part of the development of the characters, so if you would kindly just play your role properly..."
  469.
  470. "Fine, fine Director Moum. We'll see what Daddy and co. think of your shotty writing."
  471.
  472. You return to your places as you glance out into the thousands of empty rows of seats. You've done dozens of performances here, but the sheer number of seats to be filled still makes your heart sink.
  473.
  474. No one is there except Director Moum, some of the other actors and actresses, and their entourage, and Claire watching you tentatively.
  475.
  476. Between some corny line where you successfully damage the other character's self-esteem, you catch the sight of your father entering the theatre through the corner of your eye.
  477. What would you like to do.
  478.
  479. A. Stop everything and excitedly greet him.
  480. B. Impress him with your glorious acting skills.
  481.
  482. You feel the character, you become the character! You look into the audience and everyone is so stunned by your performance they hold their heads in their palms, all except your father of course. He's the only one used to your perfection!
  483.
  484. Director Moum is so impressed he begins tearing out his dyed blonde hair, and Claire can't help but jovially laugh in her seat.
  485.
  486. You never knew how great you were at acting and you begin considering making a career out of it! But now there's not time for that! Dad is here and now that your part is done you can go meet him!
  487.
  488. Before you go to greet him, you pull out your mirror to check your hair. As you look at your face in the Mirror you notice a perfect slit form just outside of the reflection of your left eye. The distorted figure of your once perfect face startles you.
  489.
  490. "Why did my mirror break? Jeez, that's the last time I let that dirty old shop-keeper sell me on some cheap merchandise."
  491.
  492. ------Later-----
  493.
  494. "Daddy! Did you seem my performance just now?"
  495.
  496. You rush to hug him. You didn't realize how much you missed him until now.
  497.
  498. "Of course sweetheart. I got here just in time for the best part of the show!"
  499.
  500. After a bit of small talk and catching up you notice Claire approaching the two of you.
  501.
  502. "Well don't you worry, I'll tell this hack, Moum a thing or two about good acting."
  503.
  504. Claire walks up to meet your side, but suddenly her demeanor has changed. Her seriousness seems almost infectious your father's mood, along with the whole atmosphere seems to twist into this bleak calm. Your father manages to keep the same easy smile about him, like he always does.
  505.
  506. "Umm, so daddy, will you be here to---"
  507.
  508. "Everyone! We have 1 hour until showtime!"
  509.
  510. Dad and Claire seem to have started up a conversation on their own. Serious business that you usually tune out. You decide it best to not bother them and to slink away.
  511. What now?
  512.
  513. A. Go for a walk
  514. B. Find a place to take a nap.
  515. C. Try to gain Daddy's attention
  516.
  517. You decide to let Claire and your father talk in peace. As you wander off you hear bits of their conversation.
  518.
  519. "They've been attempting to hijack hundreds....."
  520. "If they come....."
  521. "Keep her sa....."
  522. "I have a plan....."
  523.
  524. You step out into the lobby and stretch your body out. You notice for the first time how beautiful the weather is today.
  525.
  526. "A perfect rehearsal, perfect weather, and Daddy's here to watch me perform. It's as if the stars aligned to grant me the perfect birthday."
  527. As you walk out the doors, you're surprised to see roughly a dozen armed guards scattered about the theatre's entrance.
  528.
  529. "Daddy's guards?"
  530. "Nope. Yours."
  531. Claire walks up behind you with a stark look on her face.
  532.
  533. "Where's Daddy?"
  534. "Don't worry. He promised he'd be back in time for your show."
  535. "It wouldn't be the first time."
  536.
  537. Time passes and you're up on stage again, nearing the end of the final act of the show. Your father eyes are focused on you the whole time. For once, you have his full attention. However, this moment of success is short lived.
  538. You notice one of the guards, kneel down to his seat, and whisper something into your father's ear. in an instant, your father's adoring smile is gone. He stands and leaves with the guard and something tells you he isn't coming back this time. Your heart begins to sink. As if on cue you hit the dramatic and tragic ending of the play, and for that moment, you have no problems playing this part.
  539. The curtains fall, the full-house applauds, and you bury your pain with a polite curtsy.
  540.
  541. The applause, along with many of the lives of the viewers is cut short, as a series of explosions tears apart the main hall. You feel a sudden jolt of fear, but your reaction is not nearly fast enough to dodge an incoming object, and you are thrown into unconsciousness.
