  1. Just a short simply green written for a slow thread and a slower day.
  2.
  3. A Lazy Day Nap
  4.
  5. >It was one of those slow days within the small town of Echocreek, the kind where one would find themselves sitting around and doing nothing.
  6. >The young man known as Marco Diaz however, refused to allow such a day to bore him. Thus, he kept himself occupied by reading one of his favorite books.
  7. >So there he sat upon the couch in his home's living room, reading a rather large textbook titled "The Science behind the Art of Safety" written by a Doctor Professor Michael M. Grubber. Lead scientist behind the study of Safety.
  8. >"Yes, I understand now. Truly you were a man ahead of your time Doctor Professor Grubber." Marco spoke with amazement as he absorbed the knowledge within the words he read.
  9. >However, he was brought out of his studies as the sound of someone groaning loudly interrupted his reading.
  10. >The groan was followed by more sounds, particularly of a body rolling down the nearby stairs.
  11. >The body reached the bottom floor in a mess of puffy blonde hair, which stood up suddenly and fixed itself up, revealing itself to be the princess Star Butterfly.
  12. >Whom currently wore the look of someone bored out of their mind.
  13. >She noticed Marco and slowly made her way towards him. Slumping over and dragging her arms along the floor as she walked.
  14. >As she neared, she fixed her posture and came in close towards him and spoke.
  15. >"Marcooooo..." She said lazily.
  16. >Marco said nothing, which prompted Star to come closer and repeat herself.
  17. >"Marco." She said again with her face right next to his, her breath smelling of Pixie Sticks and Cheetos.
  18. >Marco scrunched his face in annoyance and spoke back, "Yea Star, what is it?"
  19. >"I'm... bored." She said with disgust.
  20. >"I'm sorry to hear that Star."
  21. >"Fix it."
  22. >Marco rolled his eyes and set his book down as he turned to face Star.
  23. >"What exactly do you want me to do Star? Summon up a magic carnival out of thin air?"
  24. >"That would help." She responded.
  25. >"Well you know very well that I can't do that! Besides, you can just as easily create a carnival with the magic in your wand."
  26. >”But I did that yesterday.” She complained.
  27. >”Then why do you want me too-“ Marco stopped himself, “No, I ain’t letting it get to me. I got a book to finish.”
  28. >He picked his book back up and went back to reading, ignoring Star as he did so.
  29. >The girl let out an angry huff and went around to the other side of the couch, where she plopped down in a laying position and placed her legs over Marco’s knees.
  30. >The boy said nothing and continued to reading, earning another huff from Star as she began to use her wand to summon up various creatures to amuse herself.
  31. >Each creature would attempt to cheer up their mistress before failing miserably, in which Star would then banish them out of existence. Causing each creature to scream in horror and pain as it was sent back into the void of oblivion.
  32. >Star’s latest creation, a cheery seahorse with frog legs, begged for her to spare it. To which the princess answered with a lazy wave of her wand, causing the seahorse to be sucked within itself with a shrill scream and then vanish with a poof.
  33. >“Ugh, Marcooo! I'm sooo bored!” Star whined to her bestie once again as he waved her arms around dramatically.
  34. >”Uh huh, that’s nice Star.” Marco said, paying little attention to Star as he ignored her.
  35. >She sat up and came in close again towards Marco, staring right at him with her most intense stare.
  36. >”Do something Marco. Anything!” She said, which to Marco sounded like another complain, but was actually a threat as Star held up her wand and slowly brought it closer to Marco’s head.
  37. >Marco rolled his eyes again, “Why don’t you take a nap Star?” he suggested.
  38. >At this, Star halted her wand and stared at Marco in amazement.
  39. >”A nap?” she asked, “A nap… Are you crazy Marco?” She yelled in astonishment.
  40. >”Why the heck would I take a nap right now Marco? I'm like super wide awake-“ the girl ceased her complains as she suddenly fell back onto the couch and passed out with a loud snore.
  41. >At the sound of Star’s snoring, Marco chuckled to himself in amusement. “Works every time, I really have to thank Mrs. Butterfly again for teaching me that.”
  42. >With that, Marco was able to read in peace as Star slept upon the couch, snoring and drooling all the while.
  43. >A few minutes passed, in which Marco was able to finish his current chapter. “That was interesting.” He commented, “Who knew safety had something to do with ones-“
  44. >”Dongle Berry.”
  45. >Marco looked up from his book as he was so rudely interrupted. Staring to the side, he confirmed his fears as he realized the interruption was Star talking in her sleep again.
  46. >”Mmhm, Goosy Obtuse.” The girl continued to say such nonsense, “Gimmie… dat… cinnamon pickle”
  47. >Marco stared at her in fascination, “I really should record her one day. Wouldn’t that be a riot-“
  48. >Once again he was stopped, this time be Star shifting in her sleep. She moved forward which caused her head to fall right on Marco’s shoulder.
  49. >”Blagh, cutie boy.” The sleeping girl simply said as Marco stared at her snoring face with drooling mouth wide open.
  50. >”Truly, a beautiful sight for the blind.” The boy joked to himself as he placed a hand over Star and attempted to shake her awake.
  51. >Star however, remained asleep and continued to babble strange things. “Mmhm, that’s… mine.”
  52. >”What are you even saying?” Marco asked out loud.
  53. >”My…Marco…” Star then spoke.
  54. >That caught Marco off guard and he stared at the slumbering girl in wonder.
  55. >”Now just what are you… dreaming about.” He asked as his eye lids suddenly felt heavy.
  56. >”That’s strange… I feel sleepy… all of… a… sudden-“ He closed his eyes as he nodded off, dropping his book unto his lap and resting his own head right on top of Star’s.
  57. >There he began to sleep as he and the still drooling Star rested atop each other. Falling victim to the lazy day’s spell of sleeping on the couch.
