  10. A: Thanks to a caster-like program called adonis, the game is actually pretty playable.

  14. Q: Where do I download adonis?

  16. A: First off, make sure have version 1.50a of PoFV. If not, the patch can be found here: http://www16.big.or.jp/~zun/data/soft/th09_ver150a.lzh

  20. Unpack the archive, and dump the contents in your PoFV folder.

  24. Q: Okay, so I have adonis, what now?

  26. A: First of all, go into PoFV's key configuration located within the game's options, and make sure the Control Type is set to 'full'.

  28. While not necessary, you may wish to edit adonis_config.ini file and locate:

  31. Name = NoName

  33. Change 'NoName' to whatever you want your user name to be.

  37. Q: Right, now that that's out of the way, can I play some games now?

  39. A: First of all, start up adonis.exe. If you're running Vista, make sure to run compatibility mode for Windows NT for PoFV and Adonis. If you need Applocale to run PoFV make sure you use Applocale to run adonis.

  41. You'll now be greeted with a command prompt. The basic run down is:

  44. C: Join
  45. W: Watch

  47. The host will need to input the desired port. Any users wishing to join or spectate will be asked to input the IP address, and then the port. If you're using a router, be sure to forward any ports you are using.

  51. Q: Someone appears to have connected. The client is now asking me to input something.

  53. A: If you're the host, you will need to input the latency. This will be a number between 0 and 9 and will need to be adjusted depending on the ping.

  57. Delay 2 - 66ms

  72. A: The host may be already be playing, stopped hosting or is not allowing any spectators. There's also the possibility of connection problems on the host's side. If this is the case you may want to offer to host instead.

  78. A: The game has probably desycned. Rehost/reconnect.

  84. A: No. All characters are unlocked during a netplay match.
