- Awesome. Great mentality. First question, then?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:14 PM
- I'm ready.
- Serveris - Today at 12:15 PM
- A new player joins with the character name "Barack Obama", a bald 30 year old assistant. Our records show their account is 2 days old. What do you do?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:16 PM
- Do you mind if I go by steps?
- To clarify things.
- Serveris - Today at 12:16 PM
- Proceed however you feel is best.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:16 PM
- Or a long ess-? Alright.
- Step 0: Wait and see if any staffs would like to the case the case, otherwise... I take the case.
- Step 1: Check the assistant, judging by it's grammars and appearance (Race, Eye Colors, Etc. They actually prove if the player's smart or not.)
- Step 2: Check for any hostile actions or any action that may change the tide of the round.
- Step 3: PM him in a manner as if you were his friend or buddy. Notifying him of the rules we have for the server and stretch how the staffs actually expects the players in the Aurora Station. It's not like any of other servers such as Liberty or Hippie.
- Step 4: Judging on the Player's Attitude.
- Step 4A: If the attitude is nice and very forgiving in an optimistic way in aim to help construct the RP, I would gladly help him for the most of the round with a warn in placed and notes.
- Step 4B: If the attitude acts as seemingly he does not care of the rules or frusterated with the game (you know what I mean), attempt to impose a round and half (2 Hours and Thirty Minutes) ban on the player, and proceeding to note the player and warn the user.
- Step 5: Stand-By to receive adminhelp.
- Very good, proceeding.
- You receive an adminhelp from a regular, well known player stating that they have been permabrigged for no reason. You are the only staff online. How do you proceed?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:29 PM
- Do I have the ability to receive other staffs' advices?
- via Discord, Skype, etc.
- Serveris - Today at 12:30 PM
- No backup is available. Everyone is asleep or at work.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:46 PM
- How did the situation fold in? What were the motives? Or rather was it a confusing story?
- Serveris - Today at 12:46 PM
- Details are very muddled. The officer states that they were simply ordered into the brig by the warden, and they complied.
- The player insists they were just walking down the hall when they were arrested.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:47 PM
- Alright. What were the Warden's reason to brig & charges?
- Serveris - Today at 12:47 PM
- They are no longer online.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:47 PM
- Oh my.
- Last Question (I hope): Had the Warden written down any Arrest or Search warrants?
- Serveris - Today at 12:49 PM
- None that you have been able to uncover as a moderator; the officer is not aware of any.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:49 PM
- Alright. Time to move on with the Steps.
- I'm going to name the well-known player, "Richard".
- Step 0: Knowing the fact there is no backup and everyone is asleep and at work, I am unable to receive advices or any guidances.
- Step 1: Respond to Richard's adminhelp. Try to learn and understand how the situation folds in, know who is the Arresting Officer.
- Step 2: I find out who is the Arresting Officer, Officer Jake, try to find what charges was placed and information from his perspective then try to mix in with Richard and Officer Jake's story together.
- Step 3: Learning that Warden was responsible for the actions which supposedly Warden is not an antag due to the fact that the Warden is offiline.
- Note: If were I to wait until Warden's ckey logs on in other round or so, there is a risk chance of the Warden lying since I cannot use verb: Server-Logs as moderator.
- Step 5: Impose a Warn on the Warden.
- Step 6: Jot the Officer Jake's ckey, Richard, and Warden on the notepad for easier track down along with the time and wait until the proper administrator logs on to verify whether arrest was justified or not.
- Step 6A: If Justified. Take off the Warn.
- Step 6B: If not Justified, Leave the Warn.(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 12:59 PM
- Moving on.
- Serveris - Today at 1:04 PM
- It is a nuclear round. An administrator is online with you. You recieve an adminhelp from an antagonist, one of the operatives, reporting that a crewmember is powergaming. They have heavily armed themselves, and are taking the op team head-on, and have already killed four ops. They are currently engaged in combat with another one, as you can see from attack logs you are recieving. How do you proceed?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:07 PM
- Crewmember is powergaming assuming he is not a Security Officer?
- Serveris - Today at 1:08 PM
- They are a scientist. After checking, you find they have printed weapons out with the R&D protolathe.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:16 PM
- Is the scientist new (Just had arrived on server for first time?)(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 1:17 PM
- No. You recognize them from the past couple months.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:17 PM
- Notes of said scientist?
- Serveris - Today at 1:18 PM
- They have a history of quickly escalating to lethal force and self-antagging.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:22 PM
- Initially, I PM the scientist.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:23 PM
- "Ma'am/Sir, May I ask what you are doing?"
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:11 PM
- Goodie. You are my 4th Friend on Discord.
- Serveris - Today at 12:11 PM
- You're my first. 😛
- I just pull names directly out of the staff chats as I need them.
- Now is a good time to begin?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:12 PM
- Indeed. I made some time for this.
- Serveris - Today at 12:13 PM
- Lovely, let's get started, then. Moderator candidates are subjected to short interviews, mostly comprised of scenario, 'what would you do,' type questions. These will be reviewed by the rest of the moderation staff department. It's up to you if you want them posted on your application for everyone else to see.
- If not, they will only be shared on the moderator subforums.
- Only mods and admins will see your answers.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 12:14 PM
- Please, I would prefer my interview to set as an example for everyone to see and try to act as me.
- After all, it wouldn't seem you had a moderator cycle since FFrances.
- Serveris - Today at 12:14 PM

- How did the situation fold in?
- What was the Officer's records/notes? EDIT: And the Well-Known Player(edited)
- What were their motives?
- Were anyone antags?
- Serveris - Today at 12:45 PM
- Neither the officer nor the prisoner have any outstanding notes. Neither are antagonists.

- Also.. Do I assume Nuclear as Heist?(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 1:12 PM
- It's not terribly relevant. A group of antagonists heavily armed are attacking the station.
- Nuclear/Heist; it doesn't affect the scenario.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:16 PM
- Is the scientist new (Just had arrived on server for first time?)(edited)

- Serveris - Today at 1:22 PM
- Can you be more specific?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:22 PM
- Initially, I PM the scientist.
- What is the scientist's response?
- Serveris - Today at 1:23 PM
- I meant, what would you PM?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:23 PM
- "Ma'am/Sir, May I ask what you are doing?"
- Serveris - Today at 1:24 PM
- They would state that they were fighting the ops, and that now wasn't a good time.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:26 PM
- "You do realize you are currently violating the rule: Avoid Pain & Avoid being a Hero?"
- Serveris - Today at 1:27 PM
- They would state they are trying to defend themselves, and ignore any further PMs, focusing on their combat.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:27 PM
- >_>
- Hokay. Await the steps.
- Oh.
- I ask the Adminsitrator for a Go-Ahead confirmation for a three day ban.
- Serveris - Today at 1:30 PM
- You would be instructed to do what you think is best.
- You are the moderator handling this incident.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:33 PM
- STEP 1: Check with the Scientist whom appears to be violating the rule "Don't be a Hero".
- STEP 2: Knowing that Scientist is a Regular Player and should be wary of the rules, but have a history of repeating.
- STEP 3: Immediately PM the said scientist. [Statement Received]
- STEP 4: Jot down the detailed notes regarding the situation said scientist was in for other staffs to look at.
- STEP 4A: While doing so, gather the necessary logs for evidence in case the player may attempt to file a ban appeal.
- STEP 5: Impose a Warning that is summarized from the detailed notes regarding the situation on the player and proceed to impose a three-day ban.
- Serveris - Today at 1:33 PM
- Alright, nearly done. Final question!
- You are in the server lobby, not having joined yet. You are suddenly flooded with attack logs from two individuals. One is a player using a ckey that you are familiar with, Viktor but you don't know much about them aside from their name. The other you do not recognize at all; we will call him Tom. You acknowledge from the attack logs that they are both using weapons with lethal projectiles. Oncemore, you are alone. It is dead hour, and the rest of the modmins are asleep, at work, or otherwise unavailable. You have no backup or outside guidance. Go.(edited)
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:41 PM
- After winding/flooring the two individuals: I would PM them both at the same time, "What is going on here?"
- Serveris - Today at 1:43 PM
- The player you recognize, Viktor states that Tom just walked up and started shooting him, and he retaliated.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 1:45 PM
- I question Tom why the personnel started to shoot Viktor.
- Serveris - Today at 1:46 PM
- Tom gives a similar story, stating he started shooting after Viktor walked up and attacked him.
- Question: Trial Moderator uses the Vars to check the attack logs to see who shot/or delivered the first lethal hit, who attacked first?(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 4:42 PM
- We'll say, rhetorically, Viktor fired the first shot.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 4:45 PM
- Right, I choose to PM Viktor firstly to see if it was intentional, grief, (could be) accidental,. or roleplay. {VIKTOR and TOM are winded}
- Serveris - Today at 4:46 PM
- He would remain adamant it was self defense.
- UnknownMurder - Today at 4:47 PM
- Quick question, this experience is slightly different from CM.
- Do Trial Moderators have access to Server Logs?
- Also, I would question the two to see if they can screenshot the 'logs' firstly to see what/who provoked the lethal.(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 4:50 PM
- Neither are capable of providing screenshots, and no, moderators don't have access to the verb, only secondary-tier admins+.
- I can explain why post-interview
- UnknownMurder - Today at 4:52 PM
- I would assume they be at a feud with each other given the potential hostility they may be to talking to me.(edited)
- However, right now at my own best abilities and knowledge, I am unable to pull solid evidence.
- So, my two choices would be to ban both of them or not.
- Given my position, I am unable to do anything.
- Alright, this would be my best judgement.
- For the meantime, I would proceed to ban the both of them for 6 hours and keep them on hold until an appropriate staff can come on to check and verify whom is guilty and whom is not.(edited)
- Serveris - Today at 5:09 PM
- Alright. That was the final line of inquiries. As part of the interview process, we give applicants the chance to ask us any questions, or express concerns. Do you have any questions or anything you would like for me to clarify at this point in time?
- UnknownMurder - Today at 5:11 PM
- Just a simple question... Since, the staffs were doing swell until now.
- What made this "Moderator Cycle" a good time to start fresh? Is the the staffs are starting to get inactive and needs to be replaced?
- Serveris - Today at 5:13 PM
- Moderator cycles are commonly done in 4 month increments, around the year. This just happens to be around the time in that rotation. We've done it in recycles to replinish staff, as we frequently bleed numbers throughout the months, people have to resign due to irl issues, work opportunities, decisions to leave, or simply have to be removed. This is the first time, however, we have decided to open moderator recruitment indefinitely. Applications will not be closing anytime soon.
