  1. ### Private Time
  2. ###### Putting the `t` back in *security*!
  3.
  4. This post will assess the judicial application of **time** when employed as a critical variable in modern cryptography. Perhaps one of the most taboo words and suggestions in the realm of InfoSec, "time" is enjoying a bit of newfound real-world sex appeal due in large part to the widespread adoption and comprehension of distributed block chains used as general-purpose time-definite public ledgers.
  5.
  6. Think more general and abstract manifestations of the Bitcoin block chain which transcend finance and effectively serve many innovative purposes. Such purposes—until just recently—were often a thorough pain in the ass to design and spin up without causing implosion of your personal computer.

  11. ###### There's `merit` in discretion.

  13. Are you familiar with PGP's *Web of Trust*? Either way, I've been kicking around this idea for a while now that I think would, if nothing else, complement the Web of Trust pretty nicely in more involved network-related use cases. I propose a **Web of Merit**, employed either in isolation or alongside some such trust-centric facility like PGP's elegant social graph mentioned earlier in this paragraph, in order to simultaneously keep tabs on the good health of your contacts' accounts while not losing sight of how those contacts' `merit` and actions should reflect on their trustworthiness with respect to cooperative network activities as well as real social implications of healthy or ill behavior as observed.

  15. <!--> Indeed, **this is an exciting time to be alive**! At least one other person on this planet has, like myself, noticed how conveniently he or she has been handed—out of thin and dry air—the opportunity to hack away at what he/she could so easily decorate and play off to be some cutting-edge revolutionary advancement in fields over his/her head. He/she then would proceed to shoot down compliments like "you're such a genius" and "I love you" while trying to maintain that day-to-day hussle of a true scholar. What were we talking about again?-->
