  1. >You feel something start to lick your face.
  2. >You open your eyes to see Mous, your dog, sitting in front of you.
  3. >His leash was on the floor in front of him.
  4. >You got the idea.
  5. “Fine, I'll take you... It's pretty late, though."
  6. >You get dressed and grab the essentials.
  7. >Your phone, your knife, your MP3 player, and your headphones.
  8. >You put your headphones around your neck.
  9. >Your friends are confused as why you still bring your MP3 player everywhere when you have an android phone.
  10. >You just don't like wasting the battery on your phone with music.
  11. >You get to the front door and see Mous waiting for you.
  12. >You grab the leash and harness from Mous and start attaching it to him.
  13. >After the harness is on Mous, you get on the task of walking him.
  14. >After about twenty minutes, you get to the usual split in the road.
  15. >You decide, instead of your usual route, to take the path that leads to the forest.
  16. >Mous is pulling on the leash harder than usual, so you decided to let him go to see where he runs off too.
  17. >That was a bad idea.
  18. >You run after him, doing your best to keep close behind.
  19. >You've been running for a good five minutes, and you're starting to wear down.
  20. >As you are about to stop, you notice that Mous had stopped at the base of some tree.
  21. >Tired as all hell, you still question Mous aloud through panting breaths, “Mous... What's up... Boy...."
  22. >He stopped at some sort of footprint and is now sniffing at it.
  23. >You walk up to him and grab his leash.
  24. >You tug at the leash, trying to get him to move, but he's still sniffing at the foot print.
  25. >He won't budge.
  26. >You take a step towards the foot print and see it's more of a hoof print than a foot print.
  27. >You bend down and take a look.
  28. >As you examine the hoof print, you hear a bush move.
  29. >You turn to see a hooded figure walk out.
  30. >"You there!"
  31. "What do you want?"
  32. >You stick your hand in your pocket for your knife.
  33. >"Quickly, before it is too late! Flee now, before your way home is closed off by the gate!"
  34. "Not answering my question."
  35. >As soon as the figure said that, it turned back into the bush.
  36. >You swear you saw a tail.
  37. >You start to ponder what it said, too.
  38. >Gate? What'd it mean by th-
  39. >Your thoughts are cut short when Mous runs to the bush the figure was in, pulling you along.
  40. >He gets though the bush before you can regain control and stop him.
  41. >He's still pulling, but not able to move.
  42. >You turn around and start pulling.
  43. >That's when you see a familiar looking hoof print.
  44. >Did that figure..?
  45. >Nah... Couldn't be.
  46. >You get back to pulling Mous out of the bush when you notice something.
  47. >The path is gone.
  48. >THE PATH IS GONE.
  49. "THE PATH IS GONE!"
  50. >You start to panic.
  51. >After a few minutes of old fashioned panicking, you calm down.
  52. >You put your hands in your pocket and feel something.
  53. >Oh. Yeah. You brought your phone...
  54. >You felt your MP3 player.
  55. >Don't know why you weren't listening to that.
  56. >You pull out your phone and turn the screen on.
  57. >No signal.
  58. >Your heart sinks when you see that.
  59. >You're lost in a forest for the night.
  60. >You make note of the time, 11:30.
  61. >You should make a camp for the night...
  62. >You pull me back over to the tree and make a makeshift anchor for his leash.
  63. >You look around for anything you can use as bedding or blanket.
  64. >You find some moss, and some huge ass leaves.
  65. >You make the bedding with the moss.
  66. >You empty your pockets next to you, stabbing your knife in the tree.
  67. >You lie down next to Mous and use him like a pillow.
  68. >You scratch behind his ear.
  69. "It's okay boy, I'll get us out of here tomorrow."
  70. >He set his head down and closed his eyes.
  71. >You fall asleep shortly after.
  72.
  73. ==
  74.
  75. >You wake up slowly.
  76. >You stretch and open your eyes.
  77. >You are Mous.
  78. >Yeah, you’re the dog now.
  79. >So what?
  80. >You look around, taking in the sights.
  81. >The forest is still dark.
  82. >Everything smells different though.
  83. >It also looks different.
  84. >You can't quite place it, but everything looks strange.
  85. >You look around and start to panic.
  86. >A lot of panic happening in this place.
  87. >You make the move to run, but as you try to get up something feels off.
  88. >Your rear is higher than it should be.
  89. >You look down to your paws and see that they have changed.
  90. >They look like the things the guy who feeds you has.
  91. >You look around even more.
  92. >You see yourself sleeping on the edge of the clearing.
  93. >You see yourself.
  94. >You shake your head.
  95. >You're right here, how can you be over there?
  96. You start to run around.
  97. >You run straight into a tree and knock yourself out.
  98.
  99. ==
  100.
  101. >You are now Anon.
  102. >You wake up with a start.
  103. >You heard a crash.
  104. >You look around and notice something is off.
  105. >Everything is black and white.
  106. >Where'd the color go?
  107. >Then you notice something else.
  108. >THE SMELLS. OH GOD. THE SMELLS.
  109. >You try to cover your nose but fail.
  110. >Fucking paws. They ain't good for shit.
  111. >Wait. Paws?
  112. >When the fuck did you get paws?
  113. >Shit shit shit.
  114. >More panic. Great. Just what this story needs. More panic.
  115. >After a solid minute of panic you try to stand up.
  116. >It's like when you were younger.
  117. >You had a strange habit of walking around like your dogs.
  118. >You are able to stand with minor difficulties.
  119. >Now to try and walk.
  120. >Left front paw. Right back leg. Right front, left back.
  121. >Repeat.
  122. >Okay. Good so far.
  123. >You keep on walking until you feel the leash start to pull on the harness.
  124. >Right, harness.
  125. >Gotta fix that.
  126. >You walk up to the anchor you made and get on the process of undoing it.
  127. >It'd be easier with thumbs, but your teeth will do fine.
  128. >A few tugs later, you have the leash unhooked. You get back to walking.
  129. >As you walk, something catches your eye.
  130. >You walk closer and see your body passed out at the base of a tree in an odd position.
  131. >You walk up to it and poke it.
  132. >Oh god. Did you really smell that bad?
  133. >Smells like you shit your pants.
  134. >On closer inspection, you see that your body, indeed, shit its pants.
  135. >Great. Just great.
  136. >You get back on the process of waking the new resident of your body up.
  137.
  138. ==
  139.
  140. >You are Mous.
  141. >You feel something poking at your side.
  142. >You think it's that guy again trying to make you move.
  143. >Fuck him. It's your spot.
  144. >He just keeps on poking.
  145. >You swat your paw at him.
  146. >You make contact.
  147. >You hear a yelp and feel some hair.
  148. >Must have hit his head.
  149. >A few seconds later, you feel that leg get bitten.
  150. >Your eyes pop open and see that some dog is biting you.
  151. >You look closer and see it's you biting yourself.
  152. >You thrash around for a second and hit the dog a few more times.
  153. >Its grip doesn't loosen.
  154. >You start to calm down when you see your paw.
  155. >You recall what happened earlier.
  156. >You're now in your owner’s body.
  157. >Just great.
  158. >Now how are you going to clean yourself?
  159. >You sit up and stare at your body.
  160. >This sucks.
  161.
  162.
  163. >You are Twilight Sparkle.
  164. >The smartest pony in all of Ponyville.
  165. >You have gotten a warning from Zecora about a creature that is stranded in the Everfree forest.
  166. >She said something about a doorway closing on it or something.
  167. >You can't tell what she was saying most of the time.
  168. >But never mind that.
  169. >She described the creature as a 6 foot tall hairless ape.
  170. >You brought Rainbow Dash along to assist you in the search for it.
  171. >"Twilight, why are we looking for this thing again?”
  172. "Because, Rainbow, Zecora said it'd be unable to defend itself. And you KNOW how dangerous the Everfree is."
  173. >"Yeah yeah yeah... I get it."
  174. "Now, can you please go up and see if you can spot it from the air?"
  175. >"Fine, I'll be back in a few seconds."
  176. >True to her word, she went up for about five seconds and came back and started yammering about how she spotted something.
  177. >"I SAW IT! IT WAS THERE WITH SOME BIG DOG!"
  178. "Where?!"
  179. >"This way! And we should hurry! I saw a Manticore heading towards it!"
  180. >Oh no... That can't be good.
  181.
  182. ==
  183.
  184. >You are now Anon.
  185. >And now that Mous is up you're going to have the time of your life.
  186. >And by that you mean running from some giant man lion scorpion thing.
  187. >And you can't even run.
  188. >Every time you try, you trip over your legs.
  189. >Shit's NOT fun.
  190. >You start fast walking with Mous at your side to the tree that you slept under.
  191. >You WISH you could use your knife, but nope.
  192. >Hell, that'd be useless to you even if you could.
  193. >You'd probably die.
  194. >You gather Mous and cower under the tree.
  195. >Mous keeps on trying to go up to the thing, but your grip on his... your shirt won't let him.
  196. >Your life flashes before your eyes and you start to regret things.
  197. >Like last night’s dinner.
  198. >Who would have guessed that Mac 'n Cheese would be your last dinner?
  199. >Not you.
  200. >Fuck. That thing’s getting closer.
  201. >It's fucking RIGHT THERE.
  202. >If you had your arms, you could reach out and touch its nose.
  203. >It's now floating.
  204. >Wait what.
  205. >The giant manlionscorpion thing is floating.
  206. >It's in a fucking weird ass aura. Floating in the middle of the fucking air.
  207. >HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK?
  208. >"See Rainbow? A simple levitation spell is all that was needed."
  209. >Oh. Magic.
  210. >MAGIC!?
  211. >"Last time you tried that it didn't work."
  212. >"That was a long time ago. You KNOW I've improved. Remember the Ursa Minor?"
  213. >"Yeah yeah yeah... You don't have to tell me again..."
  214. >The hell's going on over there?
  215. >Wait. Why are you still standing here? You should have BEEN running.
  216. >Well. Fast walking.
  217. >First things first, you get your shit.
  218. >You pull Mous to the ground and grab your phone and MP3 player.
  219. >You do your best, and put them in the soiled pants.
  220. >Mous looks like he's trying to get up but can't into two legs.
  221. >You turn back to get your knife that was embedded into the tree.
  222. >You do your best to get it out of the tree without cutting your mouth.
  223. >Little bit of a jiggle and it came free.
  224. >Unable to close it, you are force to drop it on the ground and kick it under the beast.
  225. >Hey. It worked. Went right to the other side.
  226. >You get back to Mous, who has finally gotten back up, and grab his shirt.
  227. >You pull Mous and make your way around the beast thing.
  228. >You head toward the voices.
  229. >Expecting people, you can say that you were MILDLY surprised to find talking horses.
  230. >No bigger than Mous to be exact.
  231. >Today is the second weirdest day of your life.
  232. >You shudder at the thought of the first one.
  233. >You make your way to the one with the... Glowing horn thing.
  234. >Your knife was RIGHT next to them.
  235. >You pick it up.
  236. >"Hey, Uh... Twilight. They're over here now... The dog’s got a knife..."
  237. >"Good... Wait, what?"
  238. >"It's got a knife."
  239. >"Can... Can you take it?"
  240. >"I think."
  241. >Oh. They don't like the open knife.
  242. >You drop it to the ground.
  243. >The blue on picks up the knife, wary of the blade.
  244. >"Rainbow... You got it? I'm getting tired.
  245. >"Yesh"
  246. >"Good, now on the count of three, I'm going to drop it and teleport us out of the way. We can't go far, or I'll be too tired to move."
  247. >"Okay... Ready when you are..."
  248. >"One. Two..."
  249. >She lowers her head and you see her horn light up even brighter than before.
  250. >"THREE"
  251. >She drops the beast and after that all you see is white.
  252. >The white only lasts a few seconds and is replaced by a nauseating feeling.
  253. >That is soon replaced with vomit.
  254. >Not a lot, considering how little Mous has eaten recently.
  255. >You see Mous blowing his own chunks out of your body.
  256. >Again, not that much.
  257. >"They okay?"
  258. >"It's a first time effect for most ponies."
  259. >"Huh, why didn't it happen to me?"
  260. >"Seems like you're not most ponies."
  261. >"Cool. I guess."
  262. >After the last of the contents of your stomach were emptied on the ground, you turned to the horned one.
  263. >You slowly walk to it and lick her cheek before collapsing on the ground next to her.
  264. >Too tired to move.
  265.
  266. ==
  267.
  268. >You're now Twilight Sparkle.
  269. >You just expended the last of your energy teleporting away from the manticore.
  270. >You're unsure of how far you got from it, but you hope it's enough.
  271. >You're thoughts are disrupted when you feel something wet on your cheek.
  272. >You regain focus on the situation at hand.
  273. >You look to see the dog sitting next to you.
  274. >It seems to be thinking of something.
  275. >You turn your head to Rainbow.
  276. "Hey, does something seem odd about that dog?"
  277. >"Other than the knife it was carrying?"
  278. >You had completely forgotten about that.
  279. "Can I see the knife?"
  280. >She kicks the knife that she dropped on the ground to you.
  281. >You pick it up with your magic and start to examine it.
  282. >You feel something prod your side.
  283. >You then see a paw go in front of your face and point to something on the knife.
  284. >It looks like a tab of sort.
  285. >It makes a motion on the tab but it won’t depress.
  286. "You want me to press down on that tab?"
  287. >It nods.
  288. >You depress the tab.
  289. >The dog puts its paw behind the blade and pushes it.
  290. >The blade goes INSIDE the handle.
  291. >What the buck.
  292. >It grabs the knife out of your spell and puts it in the apes clothing.
  293. >"What just happened?"
  294. "You tell me."
  295. >Rainbow was about to say something when a loud roar cut her off.
  296. >"I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU COULD GET US AWAY FROM THAT THING!?"
  297. "I must have been more tired than I originally thought.
  298. >"Ugh, It doesn't matter now. I'll distract it; you get those two, AND MOVE!"
  299. >As soon as she said move, you turned to the dog, and he was already getting the ape moving.
  300. >It seems it was waiting for you.
  301. >You hear another roar.
  302. >"I SAID MOVE!"
  303. >She didn't need to say it again.
  304. >You are out.
  305.
  306. ==
  307.
  308. >You now Rainbow Dash.
  309. >And you are now thinking of a way to distract a bucking manticore.
  310. >You would crack a joke right about now, but you have ponies to save.
  311. >The manticore jumps out form from the bush, swinging its tail.
  312. >You jump to the left and fly around to its back.
  313. "Hey ya moron! I'm over here!"
  314. >It turned and swiped with its claw, almost hitting your side.
  315. >You back up on it, and start flying circles around it.
  316. "What's wrong? Can't hit me?"
  317. >It tries to hit you with its tail.
  318. >Each swipe with the tail, you dodge with little effort.
  319. >That is, until it swiped at you with its claw and grazed your wing.
  320. >You fall to the ground and yelp out in pain.
  321. >You're on the back and can see the manticore advancing in on you.
  322. >You roll over, and start to run.
  323. >Your wing is useless, and you can feel the manticore gaining.
  324. >You need to go faster.
  325. >You push your body as hard as you can.
  326. >Running with all you had.
  327. >Running, harder and harder.
  328. >And then the world gets flipped right upside down.
  329. >You tripped over a root.
  330. >The manticore is right there.
  331. >You roll just in time to miss being hit by its massive paw.
  332. >getting back on your legs, you can't seem to stop shaking.
  333. >Your legs feel like jelly.
  334. >Looking at the manticore once more you see its paw raised above its head.
  335. >You shut your eyes and brace for impact.
  336. >You feel its paw connect with your side, and you're flying through the air.
  337. >You felt something break as you collide with a tree.
  338. >Must've been your ribs.
  339. >At least Twilight and the other ones got away...
  340. >You can feel your consciousness fading.
  341. >You look up to the manticore.
  342. >It's making its way to you.
  343. >You close your eyes and let out a weak plead for help.
  344. >It's answered with the sound of the manticore letting out a pained roar.
  345. >You open your eyes to see the shape of a dog latched on the neck of the manticore.
  346. >You let out a thanks before falling unconscious.
  347.
  348. ==
  349.
  350. >Oh god, oh god, oh god...
  351. >What are you doing?
  352. >You're Anon, and you're running to save the other pony.
  353. >The one called Twilight found a tree that had a hole big enough for you, Mous, and herself to enter.
  354. >As soon as they got inside, you took off to find the cyan one, Rainbow or something.
  355. >You're running when you catch a scent.
  356. >It smells like...
  357. >Blood.
  358. >You pick up the pace.
  359. *Please don't be dead, PLEASE DON'T BE DEAD.*
  360. >You run until you hear a faint sound.
  361. >"Someone..."
  362. >You run towards the sound, and see the cyan pony there.
  363. >You didn't have time to look at it closer, as you were running straight to the manticore.
  364. >You launch your body at the beast's neck, barely missing its jugular.
  365. >You start to squirm, when you feel the beast shift its body.
  366. >You let go.
  367. >A claw barely misses your head, as you fall.
  368. >You jump back up, this time getting the jugular of the beast.
  369. >You start to squirm and feel a chunk of its flesh peel off in your mouth.
  370. >You feel something connect with your side.
  371. >You go flying off with the chunk of flesh in your mouth.
  372. >You make contact with the ground and roll onto your side.
  373. >It hurts.
  374. >But you have to get up.
  375. >You don't know what's driving you to save this horse, but you'll be damned if you let it die.
  376. >You get back on your paws, the beast looking at you.
  377. >It's bleeding. That much is sure.
  378. >You weakly run at the beast and jump hitting the same spot you had before.
  379. >You latch on harder than you did before and start to squirm as fast as your body will allow.
  380. >You feel blood gushing into your mouth.
  381. >Out of the corner of your eye, you see a claw heading at you.
  382. >You let go, and drop down just in time for it to miss your head by an inch.
  383. >You jump back up, biting down on the same point and squirming.
  384. >After a few squirms, you feel the beast struggle.
  385. >You swing your body back and forth until the chunk of flesh is ripped off.
  386. >You were swinging so hard that you ended up swung away from the beast.
  387. >You land on your side and slowly rise to a sitting position.
  388. >You see the beast is wobbling around.
  389. >It looks like it's about to die.
  390. >Well, that's what you thought until you were flying through a tree.
  391. >Your sight is encompassed by darkness.
  392.
  393. ==
  394.
  395. Manticore POV
  396.
  397. >You have lost a lot of blood.
  398. >Your vision is failing.
  399. >Your limbs feel heavy.
  400. >You need some sleep.
  401. >Sleep sounds good.
  402. >When you wake up, you can get some food for your cubs
  403. >Yeah, that'll be good.
  404. >You fall over.
  405. >You shut your eyes and drift off to sleep.
  406. >Only to never open your eyes again.
  407.
  408. =
  409.
  410. >You've been resting for almost an hour.
  411. >And that's what irks you.
  412. >You haven't seen hide nor hair of the dog or Rainbow.
  413. >Get a hold of yourself Twilight, nothing good will come from worrying.
  414. >You've regained enough energy to look for them.
  415. >Then you remember the strange animal.
  416. >You look over at it, and see that it's in the corner, asleep.
  417. >You hope that it'll stay there.
  418. >But... a small sleeping spell won’t hurt...
  419. >You rack your brains looking for the spell that you need.
  420. >After remembering the incantation, you started the spell
  421. >Thankfully it was one of the easier spells, so the amount of energy required to use it was small.
  422. >You set out on trying to find those two.
  423.
  424. ==
  425.
  426. >You're now Mous.
  427. >You're running.
  428. >Running in a forest.
  429. >You have to get away.
  430. >The beast is catching up.
  431. >Faster.
  432. >Faster!
  433. >FASTER!
  434. >The beast lunges onto your back.
  435. >It starts to tear into your skin.
  436. >You jolt awake.
  437. >You look around the room.
  438. >There's no sign of either of the strange horses, or that guy.
  439. >You get up, still in the strange body.
  440. >You're slightly more used to it, but it's still weird to walk in.
  441. >Making your way to the exit, you walk out.
  442. >You see foot prints in the ground heading off in the direction we came from.
  443. >You attempt to catch a sent, but you can't seem to smell anything.
  444. >How did that guy live like this?
  445. >Yesh.
  446. >You'll have to riley on your eyes.
  447. >You start to follow the foot prints.
  448.
  449. ==
  450.
  451. >You're now Twilight, and you've been walking for about 10 minutes.
  452. >You haven't seen any sight of either of them.
  453. >That is, until you see a small trail of blood.
  454. >Oh god.
  455. >Please, Rainbow, please be all right...
  456. >Following it, you arrive at a tree.
  457. >And what you saw made you turn white as a ghost.
  458. >Rainbow and the dog lying motionless on the ground.
  459. >Rainbow is in a small puddle of blood, and the dog looks like all of its ribs are broken on one side.
  460. >You run to check on them when something else catches your eye.
  461. >Turning your head, you see the manticore, in a pool of blood.
  462. >Did that dog...
  463. >Not the time to think about this.
  464. >They need help.
  465. >You rush to Rainbows side first to see if you can stop the bleeding.
  466. >That's when you notice something.
  467. >The wound looks like its clotting.
  468. >It shouldn't be clotting that fast.
  469. >This isn't making any sense!
  470. >You touch your horn to her body.
  471. >A glow over takes her body as you check the extent of her injuries.
  472. >Dear Celestia! How is she even alive?
  473. >She has a punctured lung, lost a lot of blood, and almost all of her ribs are broken!
  474. >Then you notice something else.
  475. >Her body is using the minimal requirements to stay alive.
  476. >She's in a sort of stasis.
  477. >It seems magical in origin, too.
  478. >What's going on here!
  479. >You pull away from her body, and shake your head.
  480. >Focus.
  481. >Even in this stasis, she doesn't have long.
  482. >You set out on fixing the more serious injury.
  483. >You set your horn on her body once more, and beginning repairing the lung.
  484. >You move the ribs that were obstructing the lung, and realign them.
  485. >You can't fully mend them, unless you want to stay here and you doubt RD could survive that.
  486. >Next you set out on mending the lung its self.
  487. >This will take a bit of energy, but you should be able to manage.
  488. >You focus your energy, and start the spell.
  489. >You can feel the wound close as your energy leaves you.
  490. >There! It's closed!
  491. >You let out a sigh.
  492. >She'll be able to survive until you can get her back to ponyville.
  493. >You sit down and take a short break, only to jump back up.
  494. >Something's moving behind you.
  495. >You can hear it.
  496. >Turning to look at where the sound was coming from, you see a bush rusting.
  497. >Please be the wind...
  498. >Something walks out from the bush.
  499. >It's that strange creature...
  500. >Wait, what's on its back?
  501. >That's... That's a manticore cub!
  502. >Where in Equestria did he find THAT!
  503. >The creature looks around before spotting you.
  504. >it then bee lines straight towards you.
  505. >It stops right in front of you.
  506. >You keep your eye on the cub.
  507.
  508. ==
  509.
  510. >You're now Mous.
  511. >You've caught up with the strange horse, and along the way, found a small pup.
  512. >It seems to have lost its mom.
  513. >It's now resting quietly on your back.
  514. >You notice that the horse is keeping an eye on the pup.
  515. >Wonder why.
  516. >You shake it from your mind and walk on up to it.
  517. >Your eyes end up falling onto your body.
  518. >That's slumped on the ground with blood all over.
  519. >You quickly rush over to it and start looking over it.
  520. >You hear that horse speak up
  521. >"Hey, it's fine. The dog will be fine."
  522. >She walks up to you and you notice her horn glowing.
  523. >The world goes white for a second.
  524. >Next thing you know you're in front of a huge den of sorts.
  525. >You look to the horse and see that it's passed out on the floor
  526. >You hear some voices from the den and see more horses run outside.
  527. >They pick up the winged one, your body and the horned one and carry them inside.
  528. >You decide to follow.
  529. >You're making your way inside when you hear one of them say "No pets." and got kicked out.
  530. >You move around the building and find a place to lie down.
  531. >It's near a window, and the sun is shining in the right spot.
  532. >You lie down, and shake the pup off your back.
  533. >You shut your eyes and let the warm glow of the sun overtake your body.
  534. >You quickly fall asleep.
  535. End One.
