Ghost Fix 1

So in the revised Kamen Rider Ghost, the Ganma are just ghosts of deceased people. The only difference between them and the Heroic Spirits is that someone is able to connect with the latter and create an Eyecon.

Of course, people are afraid of ghosts, so they instead hire out ghost busters. Think less Ghostbusters and more Nozoma Peston Service. Except without a manchild who can turn into a mole monster.

Our protagonist is the same old Takeru, a spiritual person tending to his temple with Onari. Onari and Akari are more or less the same, except Akari is more of a ghost buster sympathizer and secretly makes items for them, such as that spray thing that allows them to see ghosts.

The biggest change here is that Takeru doesn’t die. He has no (ultimately pointless) deadline to collect the 15 Eyecons. The reason he’s dragged into the conflict is because he sees what the Ghost Busters are doing and realizes he can actually connect to the ghosts. Basically he’s a ghost whisperer.

The first conflict would be between Kojiro and Musashi at the beach. Their battle is causing collateral damage and the Ghost Busters are called to kill them both. Takeru also ends up tossing his hat into the ring when he notices his necklace, the handguard that his father gave before he died, starts reacting and levitating to the beach. He goes there and, to his surprise, is able to see the ghosts.

He tries to stop the Ghost Busters, but all it does is make the situation worse and he is knocked out. In a dream, he meets a sage who tells him that he is in the right for believing that the ghosts can be pacified and gives him the means to do so. And thus, he gains the Ghost Driver and the Ghost Eyecon.

And thus, he becomes Kamen Rider Ghost. He enters the fray and pacifies Musashi, gaining his Eyecon in the process. Kojiro runs away and the Ghost Busters and Takeru begin a rivalry. The next few episodes are basically just Takeru gaining Eyecons and beating up the Ganma.
