  1. Hey, /x/philes. Can't believe I even remembered the password to this sucker. Can't believe I go back to /x/ after a few years and still find people talking about/interested in Worlds.

  5. 1. Download the client from http://worlds.com/download.html
  6. 2. Download the version of java necessary to run it from http://users.worldsonline.com/users/jimbly/java/index.htm
  7. 3. Optionally, download and add the full collection of avatars and textures following the instructions at http://users.worldsonline.com/users/jimbly/avatars/index.htm
  8. 4. Run the program, and create an account by following through the dialogue pop-ups that appear.
  9. 5. Sign in.

  11. >HOW TO ADD WORLDSMARKS
  12. **WorldsMarks are custom bookmarked locations.
  13. 1. Find the right sidebar. Click first on the option "WorldsMark" then "Add new WorldsMark" in the menu that pops up.
  14. 2. Input an identifying name for the location and its address. The name and address of the location you are currently at is there by default.
  15. 3. Hit Add. The Mark is now in the drop-down list when you click on "WorldsMark".

  18. 1. Click "WorldsMark" on the right side.
  19. 2. Choose "Change Location".
  20. 3. Paste the url and click okay.

  27. >HOW TO GET TO USER-CREATED WORLDS
  28. 1. Add a new WorldsMark for the url http://users.worldsonline.com/users/jimbly/worlds/groundzero.world#[email protected],620.0,150.0,88.0,0.0,0.0,-1.0 This is an alternate GroundZero (the area you spawn in when entering Worlds) with extras such as a large gallery of user-made avatars and a directory of many user-made worlds.
  29. 2. In the bottom right corner is a minimap of sorts for the various locations within this particular world. Click "Travel" and you'll be teleported to a specific room within that map.
  30. 3. You are now in the directory of user-created worlds. Now you can approach any of the worlds listed on the walls, click on the name of the world you want to go to, and bam. You're there. Time to explore.

  32. >HOW TO SAVE YOUR CURRENT AVATAR FOR FUTURE USE
  33. 1. On the right navigation, click "VIP" then "Saved Avatars".
  34. 2. In the menu that pops up, choose "Save Avatar" and in the dialogue box enter a name for your current avatar. Hit OK.
  35. 3. In that same menu, you can select any saved avatar when you want to use it again.

  37. >HOW TO EDIT AVATARS: EASY
  38. 1. On the right navigation, click "VIP" then "Customize Avatar".
  39. 2. In the pop-up menu, you can change the head and face you are using, the size of the head, and the colors of various body parts.
  40. **Note: If you are using a custom user-made avatar, changing anything this way will generally make the avatar revert back to default sizes, positions, textures, etc.

  42. >HOW TO EDIT AVATARS: ADVANCED
  43. **You need to have Shaper enabled to do this. See http://users.worldsonline.com/users/jimbly/shaper/index.htm for instructions on how to do this.
  44. **This takes time and patience to learn how to do it properly. There is a lot of trial and error.
  45. 1. With Shaper on, go to file > Console Properties.
  46. 2. Click on Avatar(URL) in the white area at the bottom of your screen.
  47. 3. Click Edit along the side of the white area.
  48. 4. Follow Urotsuki's Avatar guide to edit the avatar code/string of characters.
