- Some guy threw up a greentext about MGs invading and wanting to kill us all. It got me brainstorming and I threw this up in response.
- Might do something with it, but probably not; I am a lazy fuck after all.
- >It took a few weeks for humanity to get it's shit together, but necessity forced the death of old rivalries and the signing of new treaties.
- >'The Last Coalition' some call it.
- >Mass conscription on a global scale is now a thing.
- >Within a month, the Monster hordes now find themselves up against the coordinated efforts of a united Earth.
- >Magic, which had been their trump card in the beginning, is countered by technology and mass production.
- >The one-sided slaughter they'd been enjoying abruptly becomes a stalemate.
- >A small trickle of fear seeps into their ranks as they slowly come to realize that Humanity won't go down nearly as quietly as they'd assumed.
- >Over the next ten years, Humanity slowly begins grinding them back as even more monsters flood through the portal to check their advance.
- >Then one day, it happens.
- >Their world, you learn, had long had a problem with overpopulation.
- >A problem the Demon Lord had hoped to correct by conquering Earth and settling her people on it.
- >Though it wasn't what she had in mind, the meat-grinder that Earth became solved that problem anyway.
- >She closes the portal.
- >Left for dead, the battered and bloodied monster army realizes that they're now trapped on this rock with no supplies or reinforcements against an enemy they know for a fact will fight to the death.
- >Humanity, for it's part, is exhausted. Ten years of uninterrupted global war had left their cities, economy and planet in ruins and an entire generation of men decimated.
- >For the first time, there's diplomacy.
- >And then an Armistice.
- >Now, less than a week afterward, as a veteran Coalition soldier patrolling one of the new refugee camps (or 'Monster Girl Cities', as the troops refferred to them), you can't help but say to yourself...
- >"Where the hell do we go from here?"
