  1. >You walk at a slower than normal pace down the halls of the library
  2. >It was odd, but you felt like enjoying the atmosphere of the place while you could
  3. >Over the years you’d been to this library more times than you could count
  4. >The books lining the shelves sent you back in your head as you remembered the early years
  5. >Not to say this place was getting removed forever or anything, just that it was being renovated
  6. >All of the parts you’d grown up with would soon be taken away and replaced
  7. >It wasn’t all bad, the place could use new computers anyway
  8. >Still, nostalgia made the news bittersweet when Twilight told you about it
  9. “But where will I do all my course work while you guys work?” You had asked her
  10. > “Well, we aren’t shutting down everything. We do have a room in the back, if you have a group, you can use that” Twilight had offered
  11. >Luckily for you, there was a project going on in class
  12. >The assignment had a random grouping that would be decided by the teacher
  13. >Small groups would work together to write a story taking place during a specific time period
  14. >You left before you found out what group you were in, but told the teacher that who ever you got paired with could be sent here
  15. >It was an odd arrangement, but the teacher already knew that you had a soft spot for the place
  16. >Taking another long look at the organized shelves, you sigh before turning back to the door
  17. >Something happening inside grabs your attention, so you lean against the door to hear better
  18. > “...No we can’t assume that it’s going to be a guy!” You hear someone hiss
  19. > “That’s always how it goes! I know how these things work” Came another voice
  20. >Two girls for your group?
  21. >You knew that there was a disparity of girls to guys at your school, but you normally get separated into gendered groups
  22. >Not that you were complaining, you always thought it was a bit childish to separate like that
  23.
  24. >What did they think, that we’d start having sex if we share a room together?
  25. >Turning the handle, you hear the voices inside go quiet as you walk in
  26. >The room was a decent size, but felt smaller because of the large table taking up it’s center
  27. >Leaning against the table was a fairly short girl wearing white shorts and a loose teal shirt
  28. >The color of the shirt matched her short hair, aside from a single streak of white
  29. >Across from her was a taller girl wearing a dark shirt and pale skirt
  30. >Unlike the shorter girl, she had long hair that hung in lumps with swirls of pink and cream which was otherwise black
  31. >Both of them look at you with mixed reactions
  32. >The shorter girl seems to eye you with slight fear while the other looks at you with surprise
  33. >A short, uncomfortable silence follows your entrance
  34. >To break it, you introduce yourself to them, making the short girl stand up straight
  35. > “My name’s Bon-Bon, nice to meet you” The taller girl replies
  36. >She then looks over to the shorter girl who was still busy looking you up and down
  37. > “Lyra. Introduce yourself” Bon-Bon says sternly
  38. > “Huh? Oh, right, I’m Lyra.” LYra says and offers you a hand to shake
  39. >While you shake it you peer to the table and notice a small amount of books already there
  40. >All three of you exchange numbers and decide to come here again tomorrow if it’s open
  41. > “So can I ask why we’re here in this old building?” Lyra says, moving into a nearby seat
  42. “Because this is the place I always work. Where do you go?” You ask her as you move to the seat farthest from the door
  43. > “We usually go to my place since hers is a pig sty” Bon-Bon says as she takes a seat opposite to Lyra
  44. > “Is not! I just like the candies you have at your place” Lyra defends herself
  45. “Wait, you guys already know each other?” You ask, looking at both of them
  46. >They both look at each other in confusion before turning towards you
  47.
  48. > “Well, yeah. You do know you can request partners right?” Bon-Bon asks
  49. >You didn’t, but you figured it was better to change the subject
  50. “No. Anyway, is this the stuff you guys got?”
  51. >Reaching for the pile of books, you take one off the top and look it over
  52. > “We both split up to find stuff since you were late.” Bon-Bon says with a hint of impatience
  53. “Late? I came on time. Didn’t the teacher tell you I’d be here at 5:00?”
  54. >Bon-Bon blinks at you before turning to Lyra and glaring at her
  55. > “W-what? So I was off by a little, it’s not a big deal”
  56. > “Lyra, we got here an hour early!” Bon-Bon says, hitting the desk lightly
  57. “It’s fine. How about we just look over what we have got here?”
  58. >You turn your attention back to the book in your hands
  59. “Huh. Our era was supposed to be the Victorian, right?”
  60. > “Yeah, why?” Lyra asks you, looking over a book of her own
  61. >You hold up the book titled A Guide To Shakespeare By Issac Asimov
  62. “Then we shouldn’t have this book. Shakespeare wasn’t alive in this era”
  63. > “Well...the writer was, right?” Bon-Bon pipes in
  64. “No, he was modern era. Which one of you got this?”
  65. >You turn to Lyra as she starts to fidget in her seat from the guilt
  66. > “It doesn’t matter. Let’s just find another one” Bon-Bon offers as she stands up
  67. “Fine, I know my way around here so I know some of the better reference sections”
  68. >Bon-Bon nods at the offer and both of you leave a blushing Lyra as she shoves her face into her book
  69. >Guiding Bon-Bon to the Victorian section you used to visit during High school, you try to start up some small talk
  70. “So, how long have you know Lyra?” You ask, reaching for a book
  71. > “We met in high school and ended up going to the same college”
  72. >She crosses her arms and looks over the books as you go to another section
  73. > “And sorry about her messing the books up...she can be a handful sometimes” Bon-Bon admits
  74.
  75. “Don’t worry about it, we all get a little forgetful from time to time”
  76. >Grabbing a few books, you move around to the other section as Bon-Bon meets you
  77. >It takes a few seconds for you to notice what, but something had changed on her
  78. “You wear glasses?”
  79. >She looks confused for a second before blushing and looking down
  80. >On her face is a small pair of caramel colored glasses that hang on her nose
  81. > “Yeah, I only wear them to help read small things” She sheepishly admits before taking them off
  82. “They look good on you”
  83. >She blushes a little before turning on her heels from you and walking to the study room
  84. >You follow after her but notice that she’s clutching her books tighter
  85. >Both of you reach the door and Bon-Bon opens the door but freezes in the entryway
  86. >Peering past her, you see Lyra kneeling on the table with her ass pointed towards the doorway
  87. > “Lyra! What’re you doing?”
  88. >Lyra snaps up and falls into an odd sort of tower she’d made of the books
  89. > “Hey! it took forever to stack them like that!” She shouts back as she turns back to the door
  90. “We were only gone for a few minutes”
  91. >Bon-Bon moves into the room as Lyra scrambles off the table and stands up straight
  92. > “Yeah well...it was still hard to get them like that!” Lyra returns while a blush grows on her face
  93. >Bon-Bon moved close to Lyra until she loomed over the small girl, forcing her against the table
  94. >She says something under her breath, making Lyra look past her at you
  95. >Looking down before looking back at Bon-Bon, she nods and Bon-Bon backs off
  96. > “Okay then, back to work” Bon-Bon says, looking back to you
  97. >Deciding not to ask what she said to Lyra, you nod and move to the table
  98. >You and Bon-Bon set down your books and all three of you look them over for a few hours
  99. >Usually you didn’t take notes, but you were genuinely interested in this period
  100.
  101. >Elizabeth and Robert Browning, H.G. Wells, Bram Stoker, Robert Stevenson, the list went on
  102. >After you finished making a list of some novels to check out, you stretch and look at the clock
  103. >It read 8:00
  104. “Well, we’ve been at this for three hours. You guys want to call it a day?”
  105. >Bon-Bon stretches and you can’t help but glance down as her chest lifts with her arms
  106. >Not wanting to be caught you snap your eyes towards Lyra
  107. >She squints in your direction before smiling at you but otherwise didn’t say anything about your staring
  108. > “Well, I guess we’ll call it a day” Bon-Bon says, standing up
  109. >You stand up as well but notice that Lyra pauses and keeps looking at you as she stands up
  110. > “Actually, I was thinking I’d help put the books we’re done with back” Lyra says, finally looking away from you to Bon-Bon
  111. > “Sounds good. Just don’t get into any trouble, alright?” Bon-Bon says as she passes her
  112. > “Don’t worry” She says, looking back to you with a small grin “I’m sure he’ll help me”
  113. >You’d planned to put the books back anyway, so this wasn’t really blackmail
  114. “Sure thing” You say with a smile
  115. >Bon-Bon flashes you a smile and waves goodbye to both of you before leaving
  116. >Gathering up the books to be put away, you see Lyra move over and close the door completely
  117. >Lyra turns around and moves over to the table again with a large grin as you split the pile in half
  118. >You heft half the books up and look from side to side in confusion
  119. “Here are the other books. Looks like we can do it in one trip, thanks for the help”
  120. > “Oh, it’s my pleasure” Lyra says as you move to leave
  121. >Lyra gives moves in front of you, keeping you from leaving and leaning on a nearby chair
  122. “...Is there something you want?”
  123. > “I saw you look at her chest you know”
  124. >Both of you go quiet and you shift on your weight back and forth
  125. “I guessed as much”
  126.
  127. >She goes quiet, but her smile drops and you can tell she hadn’t thought this far ahead
  128. > “Do you...like her?” She asks childishly
  129. “I just met her today”
  130. > “Well yeah, but I mean...whatever” Lyra says as she snatches up her half of the books
  131. >She quickly moves to the door and struggles to open the door with both arms still holding books
  132. “Here, let me help”
  133. >You start to move towards the door but she refuses to move aside
  134. > “No, I got this”
  135. >After a few more seconds of struggling and a number of curses she fumbles and drops her books
  136. >Setting your books back on the table, you get down and help her pick hers up
  137. >Her face was bright pink as she angrily put the books back into piles and lifts them up
  138. >This time, you open the door for her before she can make another attempt on her own
  139. >She looks up at you and her anger is replaced by embarrassment
  140. > “Thanks” She all but whispers
  141. “No problem. Just ask for help if you need any putting them back” You say to her with a smile
  142. >She looks back down to her books and quickly leaves
  143. >After grabbing up your own books, you follow after her only to find her walking down the wrong hall
  144. “Wrong way, here, follow me”
  145. >She turns around and moves closer to you keeping her head low
  146. >Reaching the right section, you both start to shelve the books and you reshelve the ones Lyra misplaced
  147. >It takes around fifteen minutes but you both eventually finish and start back to the study room
  148. >All the while Lyra was unexpectedly quiet
  149. >At first you though she might be planning on doing something to you, but something told you that wasn’t it
  150. >Hadn’t she been all confident about embarrassing you for ogling her friend?
  151. >Maybe this was her way of getting back at you, messing with your head by making you think something was going to happen
  152. >Was she really that intelligent and cruel?
  153.
  154. >Suddenly, she tripped over her own shoe and cursed a good few times under her breath as she stood up
  155. >Alright, maybe she wasn’t that intelligent, but the question remained
  156. >What was she doing here?
  157. >Both of you reach the door and you open it, stepping aside to allow her in first
  158. >She clearly avoids eye contact and looks to the ground as she moves inside
  159. >Heading in yourself, she stands by the wall to the right while you move to the table
  160. > “Hey, listen...” She starts
  161. >You pause in your book stacking to look back at her fidgeting with her hands
  162. > “I, uh, don’t want too...you know...” She says before lifting her head up
  163. >Her face was a strikingly cute look of embarrassment
  164. “Don’t want to what?”
  165. > “Make out” She says before looking up and off to her right
  166. >Both of you go quiet for a few seconds as you slowly stand up straight
  167. “...What?”
  168. >She returns her gaze to you with a now shocked expression
  169. > “What do you mean ‘what’? This is a classic move!” She says moving towards you
  170. “What is? You’re the one who stayed with me!”
  171. > “Oh come on, I know how these things go down” She says before looking away dramatically
  172. “What things are you-” You try to ask her
  173. > “The girl, shy and innocent, with the strong, forceful man meet alone after dark in the library!” She says putting a hand on her chest
  174. “Alone? Twilight is right down the hallway” You say, gesturing to where her desk would be
  175. > “She tries to tell the man ‘no, I’m too pure!’ but he doesn’t care and kisses her right on the lips!” She says, turning away from you
  176. “Are you listening to me?”
  177. > “But see the thing is I’m not really sure if I like you right now, so I’d ask you to just restrain yourself for the time being”
  178. “Restrain myself? You’re the one that’s-”
  179. > “I’m sure you’re very disappointed, but trust me I think this will work out eventually” She says while moving towards the door
  180.
  181. “What will work out? Where are you going?”
  182. > “Our relationship, of course. And I’m leaving to my place, why?” She asks, deciding suddenly to listen to you
  183. “Aren’t you forgetting something?” You say, gesturing to the books needing to be checked out
  184. > “Oh you savage you, alright, just once but no touching” She says turning back to you in the open doorway
  185. “No touching? I meant-” You start but go silent
  186. >She’d grabbed the hem of her shirt and lifted it up over her face
  187. >Underneath the shirt she wore a small cream colored bra that held up her small breasts
  188. >Her body complimented the small chest with a smooth, flat stomach
  189. >In other circumstances you’d say it was pretty enticing, but all you got at the moment was a small involuntary blush on your face
  190. >Holding the shirt up, both of you remain in silence before she clears her throat
  191. > “Satisfied? I hope that the sight didn’t turn you wild with lust” She says, lowering her shirt
  192. >You can’t manage to get anything out of your mouth, still stunned by the move
  193. > “Well, goodnight. Oh, and don’t tell Bon-Bon” She says before hurrying away
  194. >After the stun fades, you quickly move to the doorway and look out after her
  195. “Lyra-” You start to call
  196. >Once again you freeze as you see that you and Lyra were not actually alone
  197. “H-hey Twilight” You awkwardly work out
  198. >Twilight says nothing but holds a massive blush as she hugs a small stack of books to her chest
  199. >She turns around and speed walks back to the checkout desk
  200. >You sigh and move back into the room, running a hand through your hair
  201. >Moving back to the table you gather up the remaining books and decide it’d be best to hide them for now and checkout later
  202. >You stack them up somewhere you know people don’t normally look and head for the door
  203. >As you pass the front desk, you see Twilight still holding her blush
  204. “Sorry about that scene back there Twilight”
  205.
  206. > “Don’t worry about tit. I mean, breast! I mean...” She says quickly before covering her mouth
  207. >You both stare at each other in silence for a few seconds
  208. “Goodnight Twilight” You say with a wave
  209. > “Bust of luck to you” She replies before covering her mouth again
  210. >Walking out the door, you can’t help but smirk at Twilight’s reaction
  211. >At least you weren’t that thrown off by getting flashed
  212. >Opening the door, you sit down in your car and start the engine to go back to your place
  213. >The next day you woke up after some fitful sleeping
  214. >You’d been kept up by wondering about Lyra’s exposing of her tits to you
  215. >All you could remember was sleepily admitting that they weren’t half bad
  216. >Which actually was a pretty bad sign, on account of the fact you knew better than to go after somebody you’re working with
  217. >Deciding to hope it doesn’t lead to anything, you start to get dressed
  218. >While getting ready, you receive a call from Bon-Bon
  219. > “How soon can you be at the library?”
  220. “What? I thought we were meeting at 5:00 P.M.?” You say, checking the clock
  221. > “I know, but I thought we could get some stuff done since I’ve got nothing better to do. Lyra’s busy, so I called you”
  222. “Alright. Give me a half an hour and I can be there”
  223. > “Great, see you there” She tells you before hanging up
  224. >You set the phone down on the table and stretch before picking it back up
  225. >Not to say that going to the library wasn’t out of the ordinary for you, but Bon-Bon’s excuse was pretty poor
  226. >Why did she really want you there?
  227. >Figuring you’d find out, you grab your keys and head out the door
  228. >About 25 minutes later you arrive at the library
  229. >Traffic had been surprisingly clear for most of the way, making you arrive early
  230. >To your surprise, Bon-Bon was walking in just as you pulled up
  231. >She turns around to look at you and starts to wave with a small smile before going straight faced again
  232.
  233. >You couldn’t help but notice how cute she looked in the early morning light
  234. >Turning back to the ground in front of the car, you find a parking spot
  235. >It took you a moment as you got out of your car to realize she might be doing the same thing as Lyra
  236. >Admittedly, she seemed to be a lot more subtle about it at least
  237. >Shaking your head, you try to dispel whatever hot air was filling your head
  238. >It wasn’t like you’re a rock star or something, hell you had just met both of them yesterday
  239. >Walking into the building, you see that the construction has thankfully moved to a section away from the references
  240. >As you pass the front desk, you see Twilight awkwardly smile and wave as you say hello
  241. >Moving to the room where you had met yesterday, you can’t help but think back to Lyra flashing you
  242. >On the plus side, Bon-Bon seems to be a much saner person than her friend
  243. >Looking over to your right, you try to remember where you exactly left the books last night
  244. >Opening the door, you turn to look inside when you freeze in place
  245. >Bon-Bon was leaning against the table wearing a button up shirt looking down at a printout
  246. >Her shirt was unbuttoned just enough to let you see some cleavage, probably due to the summer heat
  247. >She looked up and over to you, her blobs of hair swaying slightly in the golden light coming in through the window
  248. >On the tip of her nose were her glasses, which she pushed up when she saw you
  249. > “Oh, hey there. I printed out a list of some books we could use” She says, offering you the list
  250. >You stare in mute silence for a second before snapping out of it
  251. “Oh, right, let me go find those” You say and reach for the list
  252. >Taking a few steps forward, you grab it and smile awkwardly before quickly leaving
  253. >Dammit, why did she have to look so good?
  254. >Sighing, you look down at the list and start to search for the books
  255.
  256. >The list was pretty short, considering you three had gone through so many already
  257. >Collecting all that you could carry, you make your way towards the room again
  258. >This time Bon-Bon was bent over the table scratching at some mark towards the center
  259. >She was completely bent over, shaking her ass slightly as before pushing herself back up
  260. >You cough and she turns around and smiles as you hand her some books
  261. > “Well that was fast” She says placing some on the table
  262. “Well we had some saved from last night”
  263. >Bon-Bon pauses and looks away as you finish and start towards the door again
  264. > “Actually, I wanted to ask you something”
  265. >You stop and turn around, looking at her expectantly
  266. > “Well, it’s just that...what do you think about Lyra?” She asks haltingly
  267. >Could she know what happened?
  268. “She’s nice. A bit excitable and air headed, but nice”
  269. >She leans against the table and let’s out a small sigh of relief
  270. > “Good. She’s not exactly the most friendly girl you know”
  271. >She seemed friendly enough when she was showing off her chest last night
  272. “Maybe. Why do you ask anyway?”
  273. >Bon-Bon pauses, her face doesn’t falter but you notice her eyes glance across your body
  274. > “It’s nothing. I guess I was just worried is all”
  275. “Worried about Lyra? She doesn’t seem that-” You start to say
  276. > “It’s not Lyra I’m worried about...it’s you”
  277. >You both go quiet and she avoids making eye contact with you
  278. “Me? Why were you worried about me?”
  279. >She sighs before lifting her eyes back up to yours
  280. >Her irises were large and blue, drawing your focus to them for a second
  281. > “I didn’t want anything to go down with Lyra if she wasn’t ready for it”
  282. “Go down? You mean dating?”
  283. > “Yes, sort of. Lyra has always had pretty weird reactions to boys”
  284. >Thinking back on her expose last night, this wasn’t that hard to believe
  285. “Well, we only just met each other”
  286.
  287. > “Still, it’s better to say things now then let them...get out of hand”
  288. “Fair enough. You’re looking out for a friend, I understand”
  289. > “Thanks” She says and steps towards you
  290. >She places a hand gently on your shoulder and holds it there for a few seconds
  291. >Her eyes shift slowly from her hand towards your eyes again
  292. >Both of you remain quiet for a moment, with neither of you making a move
  293. >Finally, Bon-Bon lifts up her hand and turns around before clearing her throat
  294. > “Good. That’s settled then” She says rather curtly
  295. “Right. I guess I’ll be going to pick up the other books then” You say before leaving
  296. >You close the door behind you, which would make things harder when you had to open it later, but you wanted the solitude
  297. >Something seemed odd about the way that her hand lingered like that on your shoulder
  298. >Not that she’s kissed you or anything, but it felt oddly personal of her, as if it was out of character
  299. >Finding the rest of the books, you start back towards the room but start to slow down
  300. >You could barely make out Bon-Bon’s voice saying something inside the study room
  301. >At first, you were conflicted about whether you should eavesdrop on her, but when you hear your name, you get closer
  302. > “...I mean, he’s cute, but you just met him” She said quietly to herself
  303. >She thought you were cute?
  304. >For a moment you got distracted by the compliment, but when she starts up again you go back to listening
  305. > “Maybe it’s for the best? Screw it, what’ve you got to lose?”
  306. >Thinking about the same thing, you open the door slowly and walk in
  307. >Before she turned away, you could just make out a small blush on her cheeks
  308. “Here are the rest of the books”
  309. > “Thanks. Want to look over them now or just check them out for tonight?”
  310. >She seems less confident in her voice as she moved away from you to the other end of the table
  311.
  312. >Her face was cooled off, but you could tell that it was forced to be like that
  313. “Depends on how long you want to stay here”
  314. > “Actually, I wanted to ask you something” She says while balling up her hands
  315. “Yes?”
  316. > “Did she really do it?” She asks, lifting her head up
  317. “Do what?”
  318. > “Flash you. She said she did it, but I didn’t believe her”
  319. >You go quiet, unsure of whether to tell her the truth or not
  320. “Yeah, right before she left”
  321. >Bon-Bon sighed and sat down in a chair before gazing at the ceiling and shaking her head
  322. > “I knew she was bull headed, but this is new. Why would she do this to me?”
  323. “What do you mean ‘to you’?”
  324. >Her eyes open up again and she blushes
  325. > “It’s...complicated” She flatly replied
  326. >This was beginning to seem more and more like some terrible comedy
  327. >If this was a tv show you might laugh it off, but this was growing into a pretty bad situation
  328. >Like Bon-Bon said earlier, it’s best to get things out of the way before they get out of hand
  329. “Bon-Bon, if there’s something you want to tell me just tell me” You say, sitting down in a seat of your own
  330. > “I don’t want to make things complicated. We’re just partners on a project” She said, more to herself than you
  331. “It’s alright. I mean, what could you say that would top Lyra’s move?”
  332. >Bon-Bon looked down it what you swore was jealousy
  333. >Did she think this was a point system or something?
  334. > “Alright then. The truth is that I don’t want you to not date Lyra to protect her...” She drifts off
  335. “Well? Why then?” You press her
  336. >You normally wouldn’t be so rude, but something about her seemed to ask to be shown
  337. > “I asked you not to date her because I like you”
  338. >Both of you go quiet as the words get absorbed by the both of you
  339. > “I’m not sure if I like you more than a friend, but I’d hate for that to be ruined by a messy relationship”
  340. “How do you know it’d be a messy relationship?” You ask indignantly
  341.
  342. > “It’s not you, it’s Lyra. She’s just too carefree to hold down a relationship, too...volatile”
  343. >She didn’t sound too embarrassed now, more like she was discussing some patient
  344. “Maybe that’s the appealing thing about her”
  345. >Bon-Bon turns to you with an upturned eyebrow
  346. > “Oh please, she’s not some fantasy character, she’s just immature”
  347. “You’re too kind” You say sarcastically
  348. > “Hey, she’s my friend. Even though she is like that, I still like her”
  349. >Silence takes hold in the room again as neither of you know where to go from here
  350. > “Look...I’m sorry for coming off as rude, but I can’t help it” She says, finally losing the cool mask
  351. “It’s alright. So, you really are dead set on me not dating Lyra?”
  352. > “Yes. She’s never actually dated anyone, so I’d rather not have her get hurt”
  353. “And you assume that would happen?”
  354. >Bon-Bon looks around quickly for a second, losing her relaxed expression momentarily
  355. > “Well, no but I have no idea how you’d react to her so...” She drifted off
  356. “So what?”
  357. > “Well, do I really have to say it? We aren’t high schoolers or anything”
  358. >You go quiet as she looks away back towards the window which partially reflected the room
  359. >Compared to Lyra, she was a great deal more honest about what she was doing
  360. “Well, it doesn’t really matter anyway. She told me that she didn’t want to do anything with me”
  361. >This made Bon-Bon sit up straight and turn back towards you
  362. > “What? But she said...” Bon-Bon started to say before cutting herself off
  363. “Yeah. She seemed interested in what I thought about you at first as well”
  364. > “She told me that she came onto you last night and that was it. What did she ask you?”
  365. >She looked at you expectantly, having clearly forgotten to keep up her mask
  366. >When she wasn’t forcing herself to remain cool, she was rather pretty
  367. “Well, she asked if I liked you”
  368.
  369. >Bon-Bon looked away and curled her lip imperceptibly before leaning back against
  370. her chair again
  371. > “So...what did you tell her”
  372. “That I liked you, but barely knew you”
  373. >Looking down, you notice that your hands were slightly damp and fidgeting in your lap
  374. > “Well, maybe we could change that sometime”
  375. >You look back up to her, a slight blush barely visible under a stray beam of sunlight
  376. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?”
  377. > “Well, it wouldn’t hurt to find out, would it?”
  378. “Neither would dating Lyra though”
  379. >Bon-Bon sits up straight and looks away for a second
  380. >Of course you had to say that and piss her off for no reason like an idiot
  381. > “I guess that’s fair. I guess she was right then” She says, standing up
  382. “Right about what?”
  383. >She moves closer towards you until she right over you and bends down in front of you
  384. > “She said that you wouldn’t be able to choose. i didn’t believe her”
  385. “Choose? What’s going on here?” You say, straightening up in your chair
  386. >You try your hardest to remain looking at her eyes and not glance at the amazing view a few inches below them
  387. > “Now, I’m not going to be as immature as Lyra, I want you to know that. But I can do things she just can’t” She says with a small, cool smile
  388. >You remain silent as she lowers her eyes from yours for a brief flash
  389. > “You’ll hurt your neck doing that, just get it out of your system”
  390. “What?”
  391. > “I know you’re trying to not look down, which is cute, but just look down already”
  392. >Silently thankful for the release, you glance down at her large cleavage
  393. >The angle of her bow gave the view even better look, as you could make out the top rim of her bra
  394. >It wasn’t as simple as Lyra’s, but it was clearly a thin sort of lingerie
  395. >Also unlike Lyra, Bon-Bon has a much larger bust, giving her cleavage a much greater effect
  396. > “Alright, don’t stare or anything” She said as she stood up straight
  397.
  398. “Hold on, what is happening now?”
  399. >Bon-Bon moved over to her side of the table and looked for anything she might need
  400. >Finding nothing, she turned back to you and started towards the door
  401. > “I’m not the one to just give up. Me and Lyra both like you...it should be obvious were this is going”
  402. “Alright, just hang on a second, this isn’t some crappy cartoon. Who says I’m going along with this?”
  403. >She stops and even breaks a small smile as she glances back to you
  404. > “You’re telling me two women want you and you’re going to turn that down
  405. because...?” She rhetorically jokes
  406. “I’m not sure. It seems wrong?” You try to explain
  407. > “Maybe it is. But think about this, what can you do against it?”
  408. >It was too late to join another group, and the professor would probably not believe you anyway
  409. “Nothing, I guess”
  410. > “Exactly. Probably best to try and think clearly about who you want then” She says before walking out
  411. >After a momentary pause you stand up and walk out after her
  412. “Bon-Bon-!” You try to call, but she’s already gone
  413. >Instead, Twilight once again stood there holding a small pile of books
  414. “Hello again Twilight” You say trying to see if Bon-Bon was still here
  415. > “Are you dating these girls or something? I’m not sure if you should be using these
  416. rooms for that kind of stuff” She jokes
  417. “Funny. No, but I am going to have one hell of an evening if this keeps up”
  418. > “Just make sure to be careful. We wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt, would we?”
  419. She lectures as she moves past you
  420. “Always nice to have a friend like you to lecture me, Twilight”
  421. > “Anytime” She laughs as she turns to enter some shelves
  422. “See you later tonight then” You say with a wave
  423. > “Hey, you’re forgetting those books in there!” Twilight calls after you
  424. “I’ll pick them up later!” You call back as you start to speed up
  425. >To be honest, you mostly wanted to get out of there as fast as you could
  426. >If ever you’d needed some time to breathe and think, it was today
  427.
  428. >You sat inside of a small diner with a burger plate in front of you.
  429. >While not entirely hungry, you thought it was better to get something to eat while you worried in silence.
  430. >the meeting was around a half an hour away, meaning you had to decide what to do soon.
  431. >What would you do at the meeting, or worse, what would the girls do?.
  432. >In silence, you place your head inside of your hands.
  433. >For a few moments you attempt to find your happy place in peace.
  434. >Right before you were able to achieve it, you notice the sound of chewing.
  435. >Lifting your head, your blurry vision is able to make out a certain blue haired man.
  436. “Flash?”
  437. > “Yep. Why do you have your head in your hands?” He asks, placing your burger back on your plate.
  438. >He leaned back in the chair and held a 1000 yd stare for a moment, as if in deep thought.
  439. “Did you just eat my food?”
  440. > “You weren’t eating it. Seriously though, why are you freaking out?” Flash asks, giving a hint of sincere care.
  441. “Flash, you don’t just eat other people’s food. Why do you even care?”
  442. > “But I do though, I do eat other people’s food. Also, I figure I could pay you back with advice.”
  443. “How about cash?” You ask, straightening up in your chair indignantly.
  444. >Flash had always been an ass, ever since you became his roommate.
  445. > “Can’t. This women took all I had on me” He said, taking more food from your plate.
  446. “You were robbed?” You say, pushing the plate towards him.
  447. > “Sort of. It’s kind of hard to explain.”
  448. “Don’t tell me you got robbed by some hookers or something.”
  449. > “No, she was an older woman.”
  450. >You briefly question if Flash just admitted to having been robbed by a granny, but think better of it.
  451. >Turning to look outside, you remember what it was that had you worried.
  452. >The meeting was going to be going down soon and you briefly considered just leaving.
  453.
  454. “Flash, you ever been caught in a bad situation with two girls?” You ask, turning back to him.
  455. >He suddenly begins coughing as he almost chokes on a large helping of fries.
  456. > “No, why would you ask that?” He says in an oddly tense way.
  457. “There are these two girls I’m working with in class and...”
  458. >Flash sighs for a second before clearing his throat and placing a hand on the table.
  459. > “Say no more. The girls are coming after you and you feel trapped?”
  460. >You blink for a moment at him.
  461. >Flash once got his foot lodged in a vending machine, and yet he had hit the nail on the head here.
  462. “Basically, yeah.”
  463. > “Alright, you just have to accept it. Better that the girls told you, right? At least you have power now” He says with a shrug.
  464. “Power? What do you mean?”
  465. > “Isn’t it obvious? Now you get the ability to choose which girl and the other hasn’t got a reason to feel betrayed.”
  466. “Right...”
  467. > “You know, unless you were an indecisive kind of guy and didn’t know which you wanted. Man, you’d be in trouble” Flash says, looking to a clock.
  468. >Giving him a rightfully angry look, you wait for him to notice
  469. >Instead, he watches the hands tick away, mouthing the seconds in a fairly annoying way
  470. >Sighing, you look out the window and silently conceded that it’s a fair point
  471. >As much as Flash was an idiot, he did seem good with girls
  472. “So what do I do?”
  473. >Flash holds his look on the clock for a second before looking back to you.
  474. > “Hmm? Oh right, just pick one. If you don’t, they probably will. just relax and let things work. That’s how all relationships work.”
  475. >Flash opens his mouth to continue speaking when the door of the building slams open
  476. > “BRAD! WHERE ARE YOU?” Shouts a pale women wearing a revealing dress.
  477. > “Shit, see you later. hopefully” flash says before hopping a table and bolting away.
  478. >The woman notices and chases after him through the door.
  479.
  480. >Seeing Brad get chased by a strange woman for mysterious reasons put things into perspective for you.
  481. >Comparatively, you weren’t getting too rough of a deal.
  482. >Feeling much better about yourself, you pay for your food and leave, noticing you could make the meeting a little early.
  483. >Traffic, on the other hand, thought it would be better if you arrived a minute late.
  484. >Getting out of the car, you think back to what Flash had told you.
  485. >Maybe things would go smoother this time?
  486. >The girls had both approached you when you had been alone in any case.
  487. >No sense worrying over it, best to get things over with now.
  488. >Walking through the door, you notice they’ve started construction on another part of the library.
  489. >Thankfully, it was still on the other side of the building.
  490. >Moving further in, you see Twilight sitting at her desk and looking over some things.
  491. >Lifting her head up from the screen, she gives you a small smile.
  492. > “Hello there, they’re waiting for you in the room. But first, come over here.” She says, waving you over.
  493. >You do as she asks in a slight confusion.
  494. “What is it Twilight?”
  495. > “Well, do you remember earlier today?”
  496. >Your mind drifts back to when Bon-Bon came onto you.
  497. >It hadn’t really struck, but she had come one almost as strong as Lyra had.
  498. >But why would Twilight care about that?
  499. “Yeah?”
  500. >She raises her eyebrows expectantly and leans forward slightly.
  501. >Both of you wait for a few seconds before she sighs and points her thumb at a small pile of books.
  502. > “You left these here, remember?”
  503. “Oh, right, sorry about that. I kind of needed space to think” You tell her, picking up the books.
  504. > “Sure, just try not to give me more work than I already have.”
  505. “I know, I know” You repeat, hefting up the stack and starting off towards the hallway.
  506. > “See you later.”
  507. “You too” You call back.
  508. >Continuing down the hallway, you eventually reach the meeting room.
  509.
  510. >For once, it was actually quiet on the other side of the door.
  511. >You pause for a moment outside and look down at the doorknob in silence.
  512. >Was that a good thing or a bad one?
  513. >You open the door slowly, hoping you wouldn’t find any dead bodies.
  514. >Thankfully, it was just both of the girls quietly engrossed in some books.
  515. >Lyra made a small note on a small note before looking up at your entrance.
  516. > “Oh, hey there” She says with a casual smile.
  517. >You hesitate for a second at the plainness of her response.
  518. “Hey, sorry for being late again” You reply, moving to your own seat.
  519. > “No worries. We got here ourselves only a few minutes ago” Bon-Bon replied, looking up from her book and giving you a small smile.
  520. >It wasn’t the same kind of smile that you had gotten earlier that day.
  521. >Something felt wrong about how utterly non-flirty the girls were being with you.
  522. >Tentatively, you place your own pile of books down and take one out to read.
  523. >You can’t help looking up every few seconds, wondering what either girl was going to do.
  524. >Was this another game, or had you just imagined it all?
  525. >After a while you settled down some what and started to actually focus on your work.
  526. >Making a few small notes on the scientific growth of the period.
  527. >Looking over to add another, you notice a stray note laying next to your own.
  528. >Curious, you pick it up and look in the direction it came from.
  529. >Lyra gave you a sly wink before returning to her own work without a word.
  530. >You froze for a moment before quickly hiding the note behind your book.
  531. >If Bon-Bon saw the note, things might get worse than already were shaping up to be.
  532. >Looking down, you make sure to hold it so that it looked like you were reading your book still.
  533. >It read “Want to go on a date? XOXO” Followed by her number.
  534. >After finishing reading it, you looked back up at Lyra.
  535. >She was busy reading with a very bored look on her face.
  536.
  537. >You can’t help but watch her for a few seconds before returning to your reading.
  538. >For the next few minutes, you struggled to actually focus on the material.
  539. >Eventually, you stand up to go to the bathroom.
  540. >As soon as you did, you notice both girls stop reading to glance up at you.
  541. > “Leaving already?” Bon-Bon asked, narrowing her eyes.
  542. “No, just going to the bathroom” You said, moving for the door.
  543. >After opening it, you turn back quickly to see both girls still staring at you.
  544. >Seeing you snap around, they both quickly look away.
  545. >You leave, making sure the door was tightly closed behind you before sighing.
  546. >Even though it was just a note from Lyra, you knew that both of them were going to try something.
  547. >It looked like they didn’t act as aggressive while the other was present in the room, thankfully.
  548. >How long would this keep up though?
  549. >Both girls had come on fairly strong from the start as if they’d planned this.
  550. >Was that even possible?
  551. >Neither of them had known your name when you came joined the group.
  552. >Shaking off the paranoid ideas, you head off to the bathroom.
  553. >A few minutes later, you returned to the room.
  554. >Both girls were giving each other strangely intense looks before returning to reading as you came back in.
  555. “Did I interrupt something?” You ask, walking to your seat.
  556. > “It was nothing, we were just--” Bon-Bon started to respond before Lyra cut her off.
  557. > “I think I’ll go pick up some books” She said indignantly.
  558. >What was with her?
  559. >Lyra stood up and looked to you before walking out of the room.
  560. “Well, that was weird” You say, turning to Bon-Bon.
  561. >As you do, you notice that she was looking at you with an odd stare.
  562. > “She did something, didn’t she?” Bon-Bon said in a cool tone.
  563. >Oh right, they went all psycho when you were alone with them.
  564. “Uh, I think I have to go make a call so--” You try to say to escape the room.
  565.
  566. > “No, please, sit for a while” She says in a muted tone.
  567. >Even though she hadn’t done anything yet, you felt like you had no choice in the matter.
  568. >As you did, you intentionally stare down into your book.
  569. >Try as you might, your brain refused to read anything inside of it.
  570. >Except the note that Lyra had left.
  571. > “So, what is it that you’re reading there? It’s too small to be the book” Bon-Bon asked.
  572. >Glancing you look at the small note and feel sweat on your forehead.
  573. >This was going to need to be handled very delicately.
