  1. >Three thousand channels... Three thousand fucking channels and not a SINGLE thing on TV.
  2. >You're lounging around, surfing channels trying to find something of interest, when you hear a knock at the door.
  3. >Glancing at the clock, you see it's almost ten at night.
  4. >Who the hell is at your door at this time of night?
  5. >You get up, not really caring that you're in your underwear, and make your way to the door.
  6. >Checking to make sure your old baseball bat is nearby, you hear another knock.
  7. "I'm coming!"
  8. >A hand ready to grab the bat, you open the door and see... nothing.
  9. >No one's there.
  10. >You only hear the roaring torrent of rain.
  11. >Not chancing anything, what with living in a bad place, you quickly close the door and lock it.
  12. >Grumbling to yourself, you get back to the couch and sit back down.
  13. >You go for the remote, only to find it's not where you left it.
  14. >It's also not on the same channel, and there’s a wet spot in the spot next to you.
  15. "What the..."
  16. >You feel something that feels remarkably like a bite.
  17. >Jerking your arm away, you feel like you're lifting sixty pounds or so.
  18. >The pain of something biting on your arm is still there.
  19. >Then you notice something.
  20. >The air below your arm is distorting, like something's appearing.
  21. >You can faintly make out a brownish color...
  22. >Trying to remain calm, you shake your arm.
  23. >The blob stays on your arm.
  24. >Okay, don't panic. Just... let it form. Yeah. That's good idea...
  25. >It's not long before the blob focuses, revealing a small, wet, equine-like creature in a lion suit that's latching on to your arm.
  26. >For some reason, it has fairly sharp teeth.
  27. >Its front legs are wrapped around your arm as it sort of hangs on you.
  28. >Its eyes glance at your shocked and scared face.
  29. >You make out what sounds like speech, but you can't understand it.
  30. >With one violent motion, you send it flying across the room.
  31. >You jump up from the couch and rush to your bat but, somehow, the equine cuts you off
  32. >You stare at it, alerted.
  33. >It rubs the back of its head.
  34. >“What’s with that look? Heck, what was with that reaction?”
  35. >You glare at, a slightly confused look on your face.
  36. >A talking horse in a lion suit —presumably a female— is standing in front of you.
  37. >”I get it! You’ve never seen anything like me before... that right?”
  38. >You say nothing; keeping your eyes fixated on her.
  39. >“Err, you okay?”
  40. >You blink, shake your head a look at her again.
  41. >Still there.
  42. >You put a hand on your head and turn around.
  43. >”Hey, where’re you going?
  44. >You keep on walking, making your way to the bathroom.
  45. >Walking inside, you turn on the faucet and splash some cold water on your face before examining your arm.
  46. >There’s two small puncture marks on your arm, but it looks like they are almost fully healed.
  47. >You look in the mirror and notice that the lion pony thing is standing by the door.
  48. >”You’re not dreaming.”
  49. “I can see that...”
  50. >”Are you gonna be okay?”
  51. “Probably...”
  52. >You walk up to her and crouch down.
  53. “So you’re real, huh?”
  54. >You pinch her cheek, as if to confirm your suspicion.
  55. >Her face, while being nice and fuzzy, appears to be slightly annoyed.
  56. >She shakes her head, making you lose grip of her cheek, and tries to bite your hand.
  57. >You pull away, letting out a small laugh.
  58. >She starts to pout as you pat her head.
  59. “Hey, cheer up. I’m just having a bit of fun after you scared me... Hey, how about you tell me your name? I’m Sam Noouny. Nice to meet you.”
  60. >You reach your right hand out.
  61. >She puts her right front hoof in your outstretched hand.
  62. >”They call me ‘Leo’ around here.”
  63. >You shake her hoof.
  64. “Nice meeting you, Leo... I think.”
  65. >”Heh, sorry about your arm... It’s the only way I could make myself visible to you,” she said, glancing at your arm.
  66. “And I’m sorry about throwing you across the room. Your head okay?”
  67. >She smiles and puff out her chest. “It takes a lot more than that to hurt me!”
  68. >You chuckle.
  69. >She lets out a small yawn.
  70. “You’re tired?”
  71. >”Yeah, it takes a bit out of me to make others see me...”
  72. >You stand up.
  73. “Well, I’ll show you out.”
  74. >She looks at you a small frown on her face.
  75. >”I was hoping, well..”
  76. “...You don’t have a place to stay, do you?”
  77. >She shakes her head.
  78. >You sigh, looking out the window in the bathroom.
  79. >It’s still raining.
  80. “Fine, let’s dry you up, then get a blanket for you.
  81. >She seems absolutely giddy with excitement, but then she disappears.
  82. >Her suit is right in front of you, but Leo isn’t in it.
  83. >Your brain is trying to process what’s happening when you feel something poke you in your leg.
  84. >”You okay, Sam?”
  85. >You look to the voice and see Leo.
  86. >Her entire body is an aquamarine color and her hair has about two shades of gray in it, with layers in the back.
  87. “How did you...”
  88. >She smiles sheepishly.
  89. >”I might have left out the small detail of being a demi god...”
  90. “Well, with what has happened so far, I wouldn’t doubt that... Mind answering one thing?”
  91. >“Sure! There’s your answer.”
  92. “Oh, ha-ha. Very funny. How about this. Tell me why you need a place to stay if you’re a demi-god.”
  93. >”Because you’re too cute to not stay with?”
  94. >You were just called “cute” by a talking horse demigod.
  95. >Your poker face is that of a world champion of poker.
  96. “I think you have other reasons, but I’m going to take that compliment and leave that alone.”
  97. >She beams at you, her silly grin being contagious.
  98. >The rest of the night is cut down after you dry her off and place her suit in the dryer.
  99. >You got a spare blanket and pillow out and placed it on the couch.
  100. >You let her get settled in her makeshift bed before you retire to your own room.
  101. >It’s not long before you fall asleep.
