- >Three thousand channels... Three thousand fucking channels and not a SINGLE thing on TV.
- >You're lounging around, surfing channels trying to find something of interest, when you hear a knock at the door.
- >Glancing at the clock, you see it's almost ten at night.
- >Who the hell is at your door at this time of night?
- >You get up, not really caring that you're in your underwear, and make your way to the door.
- >Checking to make sure your old baseball bat is nearby, you hear another knock.
- "I'm coming!"
- >A hand ready to grab the bat, you open the door and see... nothing.
- >No one's there.
- >You only hear the roaring torrent of rain.
- >Not chancing anything, what with living in a bad place, you quickly close the door and lock it.
- >Grumbling to yourself, you get back to the couch and sit back down.
- >You go for the remote, only to find it's not where you left it.
- >It's also not on the same channel, and there’s a wet spot in the spot next to you.
- "What the..."
- >You feel something that feels remarkably like a bite.
- >Jerking your arm away, you feel like you're lifting sixty pounds or so.
- >The pain of something biting on your arm is still there.
- >Then you notice something.
- >The air below your arm is distorting, like something's appearing.
- >You can faintly make out a brownish color...
- >Trying to remain calm, you shake your arm.
- >The blob stays on your arm.
- >Okay, don't panic. Just... let it form. Yeah. That's good idea...
- >It's not long before the blob focuses, revealing a small, wet, equine-like creature in a lion suit that's latching on to your arm.
- >For some reason, it has fairly sharp teeth.
- >Its front legs are wrapped around your arm as it sort of hangs on you.
- >Its eyes glance at your shocked and scared face.
- >You make out what sounds like speech, but you can't understand it.
- >With one violent motion, you send it flying across the room.
- >You jump up from the couch and rush to your bat but, somehow, the equine cuts you off
- >You stare at it, alerted.
- >It rubs the back of its head.
- >“What’s with that look? Heck, what was with that reaction?”
- >You glare at, a slightly confused look on your face.
- >A talking horse in a lion suit —presumably a female— is standing in front of you.
- >”I get it! You’ve never seen anything like me before... that right?”
- >You say nothing; keeping your eyes fixated on her.
- >“Err, you okay?”
- >You blink, shake your head a look at her again.
- >Still there.
- >You put a hand on your head and turn around.
- >”Hey, where’re you going?
- >You keep on walking, making your way to the bathroom.
- >Walking inside, you turn on the faucet and splash some cold water on your face before examining your arm.
- >There’s two small puncture marks on your arm, but it looks like they are almost fully healed.
- >You look in the mirror and notice that the lion pony thing is standing by the door.
- >”You’re not dreaming.”
- “I can see that...”
- >”Are you gonna be okay?”
- “Probably...”
- >You walk up to her and crouch down.
- “So you’re real, huh?”
- >You pinch her cheek, as if to confirm your suspicion.
- >Her face, while being nice and fuzzy, appears to be slightly annoyed.
- >She shakes her head, making you lose grip of her cheek, and tries to bite your hand.
- >You pull away, letting out a small laugh.
- >She starts to pout as you pat her head.
- “Hey, cheer up. I’m just having a bit of fun after you scared me... Hey, how about you tell me your name? I’m Sam Noouny. Nice to meet you.”
- >You reach your right hand out.
- >She puts her right front hoof in your outstretched hand.
- >”They call me ‘Leo’ around here.”
- >You shake her hoof.
- “Nice meeting you, Leo... I think.”
- >”Heh, sorry about your arm... It’s the only way I could make myself visible to you,” she said, glancing at your arm.
- “And I’m sorry about throwing you across the room. Your head okay?”
- >She smiles and puff out her chest. “It takes a lot more than that to hurt me!”
- >You chuckle.
- >She lets out a small yawn.
- “You’re tired?”
- >”Yeah, it takes a bit out of me to make others see me...”
- >You stand up.
- “Well, I’ll show you out.”
- >She looks at you a small frown on her face.
- >”I was hoping, well..”
- “...You don’t have a place to stay, do you?”
- >She shakes her head.
- >You sigh, looking out the window in the bathroom.
- >It’s still raining.
- “Fine, let’s dry you up, then get a blanket for you.
- >She seems absolutely giddy with excitement, but then she disappears.
- >Her suit is right in front of you, but Leo isn’t in it.
- >Your brain is trying to process what’s happening when you feel something poke you in your leg.
- >”You okay, Sam?”
- >You look to the voice and see Leo.
- >Her entire body is an aquamarine color and her hair has about two shades of gray in it, with layers in the back.
- “How did you...”
- >She smiles sheepishly.
- >”I might have left out the small detail of being a demi god...”
- “Well, with what has happened so far, I wouldn’t doubt that... Mind answering one thing?”
- >“Sure! There’s your answer.”
- “Oh, ha-ha. Very funny. How about this. Tell me why you need a place to stay if you’re a demi-god.”
- >”Because you’re too cute to not stay with?”
- >You were just called “cute” by a talking horse demigod.
- >Your poker face is that of a world champion of poker.
- “I think you have other reasons, but I’m going to take that compliment and leave that alone.”
- >She beams at you, her silly grin being contagious.
- >The rest of the night is cut down after you dry her off and place her suit in the dryer.
- >You got a spare blanket and pillow out and placed it on the couch.
- >You let her get settled in her makeshift bed before you retire to your own room.
- >It’s not long before you fall asleep.
