  2. The Extremes in Psalm 23,Fredna Manney,Oil on Canvas,Psalm 23,"These 2 paintings depict the places that God may lead us. We welcome the “green pastures and quiet waters”. But the rutted road? Really God, we are going down there? You want me to go down that road? It just doesn’t look right! “Yes, trust Me. I am with you. Hang on to Me. I will lead you. I will never leave you.”",
  3. Psalm 92:1-5,Norberto Clemente,Oil on Canvas,Psalm 92:1-5,The artwork depicts my church back in Cuba when they were singing a song based in the psalm. I just couldn't resist painting the beauty and devotion I could see when they worship God.,www.NorbertoClemente.com
  4. Psalter,Beth Brubaker,Mixed Media,The Book of Psalms,"The book of Psalms includes 150 prayers divided into five books that cover every conceivable emotional and spiritual mood – a vital resource when our own words fail. I wanted to capture this is an abbreviated “big book” psalter (of sorts) with concentration on mostly the Davidic Psalms. King David, a “man after [God’s] own heart” (Acts 13:22), trusted the Lord with all his thoughts and feelings, including the unhealthy ones, which is what we should do also…bringing everything to God in prayer. The book is made of Coke cartons (recycled love of trees). All my work begins with faces (images) I see in the papers, walls, photographs that I take and make. I always feel that the Holy Spirit shows me these faces in order to tell the stories.",
  5. Wallpaper Melody,Melissa Fair Weber,Multimedia,Psalm 28:7,"When people ask me about my art and music I never know how to really answer the question - it changes. This piece is a representation of work that combines visual art in combination with sound to create a story. I used acrylic paint on canvas and incorporated newspaper, a guitar string, tulle, and yarn among other things. The song ""Wallpaper Melody"" was an added feature of symbolism and imagery. The lyrics are a reflection of a story when a man and woman elope by Eros love (Greek for erotic-like love) and how Agape love (Greek for God-like love) never fails. The song includes several scripture references and is a depiction of how God's love never fails when in comparison to our love. In Him we find true and perfect love which is Agape love; unlike Philia, Eros, and Storge love. He is my strength, and I could never write a song, sing, or create anything fun like this without Him. The Lord was my inspiration.",
  6. The Story of Psalms,Erin DuBroc,Quilted Fabric,Based on a variety of chapters and themes identified in the book of Psalms,"John Stott described the Psalms as “the universal language of the human soul . . . [containing] the whole music of the heart of man.” They are raw in their honesty, utterly human in their posture, and therefore, we so easily relate to them. It’s as though each one of our stories is woven in and through these scriptures – the praises and laments, petitions and prayers of thanksgiving – mirrored in the psalmists’ testimonies. Within them I see my story as well as the stories of others. The quilt is a collage of themes I find meaningful represented by nine icons. From left to right and top to bottom, they reflect human emotion, unity in diversity, God’s majesty, abiding with Him, our lives reflected, communion with God, praise, the centrality of Christ, and the kingdom of God.",
  7. Mote of Dust,John M. Robertson,"alkaline battery, ancient kauri wood, artist’s exhaled breath, blood wood, charcoal thorny stem, bleach, Dead sea salt, drill bits, fiberglass insulation, gold gilding, hoe, iodine tincture, Jordan river water, LEDs, maps, matchbox, matches, meteorite, obstetrical forceps, paper, photograph, quicklime, traffic signal lens, snake fangs, Teflon, Trinitite, typeset, watchmaker canisters, wrench",Psalm: 8:4a,"The title comes from a book by Carl Sagan called Pale Blue Dot that comments on the NASA photograph of the same name. This photograph was taken in 1990 by the Voyager I spacecraft after it had passed beyond Pluto, 3.7 billion miles from earth. In the photo, the earth is the size of 0.12 pixels, literally “a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.” When I first saw this, I was overwhelmed by how small the earth appeared in what was just a sliver of the vast universe captured by the photo. Psalm 8:4a came to mind - “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?” (ASV). This piece is a meditation on the question, “what is man?” My conclusion is that human beings are empirically insignificant. Yet still, God pays us notice. We are significant only because we are known to Him.",www.JR2studio.com
  8. His Love Endures,Alicia Ashdown,"Mixed media: mat board, acrylic paint, image transfer, magazine, canned food labels, fabric, repurposed children’s art, various papers",Psalms 107,"“His Love Endures” is a compilation of the expression of Thanksgiving from the Israelites to God and the plight of the modern day homeless as seen through my work at The Salvation Army Family Residence, a homeless shelter for families. The sixteen shapes in this piece are a representation of the struggles of wandering, suffering people and the redemptive power the Lord can bring. The top five shapes illustrate the first five sections of Psalm 107 addressing wandering. The bottom eleven shapes represent the last eleven verses of the chapter which focus on the redemptive power of the Lord and how He delivers. While the eleven verses are much shorter than the first five sections I felt it was important to focus on the great work the Lord did for the Israelites and will always do in the lives of those wander. Almost all of the materials used to create this piece have come from The Salvation Army Family Residence and represent the many women and families who have stayed within its safe walls while in the process of exiting homelessness.",
  9. Clean,Jeff Austin,Photograph and/or Illustration in digital form on stretched canvas,Psalm 24:4-5,"The photographic images and graphic words combine to represent sin being washed clean by salvation through Christ. The dirty hand represents sin, the semi-clean hand represents repenting and the clean hand represents forgiven. This artful interpretation of Psalm 24:4-5 shows a clean hand no longer holding onto falsehood and deceit, but receiving a blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.",
  10. Almost Sold,Rachel Louise,Mixed media: Autobiography excerpts on wooden crates,Psalm 147:3,"The excerpts written here are from an autobiography I am currently writing entitled ""Almost Sold"". This book is a shouting of His miracles- the story of God’s movement to save my life from becoming one caught in sexual slavery. Sex trafficking is not a new concept. Attention to this social injustice seems to have wonderfully caught fire in recent years, and the fire for freedom is spreading rapidly. Read and Worship Him with me in what He has wonderfully done! And if you have experienced this indefinable violation, I pray you hold onto His truth and love tightly. I pour my heart out for you to be encouraged in His love in order to take one more step forward.",
