  1. If you have ever felt that standard walljumps weren't flashy enough and you wanted a less practical way to style on your opponents with walljumps then this thread is for you!
  2.
  3. This Tech is an extension of the well known Doraki ledge/instant walljump. The Doraki ledge walljump allows certain characters to double jump to the ledge while hugging the wall. Since the game still believes you are riding the wall and lets you walljump from the ledge. This is what Fox's Doraki ledge walljump looks like, bombch.us/BXw0.
  4.
  5. A slightly lesser known use of storing walljumps is the Doraki Reverse Walljump. Here is a video from 2009 by DashDanceDan showing it off, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAN3SejRi3w. This works by having Fox jump into the right wall until he touches the ground. As long you do not jump the game still thinks you are hugging the right wall, so now you just walk to the left wall until you are hugging it and jump. Now the game sees that you are in the air but since you are still hugging a wall it still is stroring a left walljump, so if Fox presses in he will walljump in reverse. This is possible on other stages like Onett or Pokemon Stadium's rock transformation that have two walls and ground connecting them. This is known information and is not new.
  6.
  7. What people did not realize (or I could not find any reference of) is that certain movement options and B moves allow characters to navigate around a level without losing the stored walljump. Here is a list of moves every character can preform and retain their stored walljump.
  8.
  9. Airdodge (neutral or angled)
  10. Stand, getup attack, or roll from ledge
  11. Shielding, rolling, or sidestepping
  12. Tech rolls or tech in place
  13. Missing a tech and rolling, standing, or doing a get up attack
  14. Shield breaks
  15. Non-special moves, grabs, throws (there are likely exceptions to this for some characters, I did not test every characters attacks)
  16. Each character also has B moves that will store their walljump to navigate to the ledge, I will list each characters B moves that can be used for movement later in this thread. Since Fox is capable of Doraki ledge walljumping and can use firefox to grab another ledge Fox can preform a reverse walljump from ledge on FD. This is what all that looks like in action, bombch.us/BXxD.
  17.
  18. To sum up, Fox grabs the ledge with a double jump while hugging the wall and stores a leftward walljump. Fox now uses stand from ledge and up-b to move from the left ledge to the right ledge without ever losing the stored leftward walljump. Fox now drops from ledge (I used c-stick to avoid fastfalling or drifting away) and press in on the analog stick activating the reverse walljump.
  19.
  20. Of the 8 characters who can walljump only three can preform a reverse ledge walljump on FD without assistance from a 2nd player. Fox, Falco, and Young Link. Mario, Sheik, Falcon, and Pichu are capable of preforming a Doraki ledge walljumps on stage like Fourside or Mushroom Kingdom II with long flat walls but can not seem to preform a reversed ledge wall jump (this is likely due to their ECB touching the wall while holding the ledge but as soon as they drop from the ledge their ECB is not touching the wall). Samus can preform a a Doraki ledge walljump and a reverse ledge walljump but can not do either of these on FD. It is worth noting that Falco is not capable of preforming a normal Doraki ledge walljump on FD but he is capable of preforming a reverse ledge walljump. This means it is possible that some characters can now reverse ledge walljump on stages they could not normally Doraki ledge walljump. I did not test each character on every stage so feel free to test other stages with your main and reply with any new discoveries.
  21.
  22. There are other methods to preform a reverse walljump without using FD's ledge. Some characters have a lot of utility with specials like Young Link and Samus who can both use bombs to launch themselves in the air and then airdodge and grapple. For those of us who don't main characters with grapples or bombs there are still two more ways to preform reverse walljumps on legal stages, Randall the cloud and Pokemon Stadium's transformation.
  23.
  24. FD ledge walljumps are not the only way to preform a reverse walljump on tournament legal stages. Characters like Samus and Young Link have a lot of mobility by launching themselves up with their bombs and then airdodging and using their grapple. Here is an example of Samus using two bombs used to navigate herself off the stage and into the wall before exiting morph ball and the game checking to see if she is still hugging a wall, bombch.us/BXxR. This is difficult to preform as you need to start hugging the first flat wall section of yoshi's while holding analog in, release analog to neutral without pressing away at all, and press in to activate the walljump before falling to the slightly extended lip between where Randall enters and exits. Samus and Young Link are capable of using a grapple into a reverse walljump (and do a 2nd normal wall jump after for extra style) but they seem to be incredibly difficult or require very specific scenarios. The only legal stage I have successfully used Young Link's hookshot into reverse walljump is Pokemon Stadium's rock transformation, bombch.us/BXxh. Samus is capable of using grapple into reverse walljumps on none 90 degree walls but I couldn't pull it off on any legal maps, here is Samus preforming a double walljump on Hyrule as consolation, bombch.us/BXxi. I am not highly knowledgeable on either Samus or Young Link so if you have a solid understanding of either of these characters test it out with save states or use debug modes and you will likely find some setups for this trick on legal stages.
