  1. "I figured you'd be more excited for this fight, Nora."
  2.
  3. "What? Oh, no. Ren's already won."
  4.
  5. "You're that confident in him? I mean, Ruby's no pushover."
  6.
  7. "Yeah, it's just bad luck for her. She's super strong and cool and all that, but... Ren is her perfect counter."
  8.
  9. "Perfect counter?"
  10.
  11. Ruby rushed at Ren, Crescent Rose's scythe at her side, slicing through the air with her semblance-enhanced speed. Ren didn't move. Ruby closed the distance between them in an instant and swung her weapon at Ren's side, only to miss. Ren had dodged her at the very last second and had Storm Flower's submachine guns pointed directly at her. She dashed off, able to evade most of his fire.
  12.
  13. "Wow, I had no idea he could react that fast! Is that his semblance?"
  14.
  15. "C'mon Pyrrha! Ren's always been quick like that, it's just a touch of aura to keep him flexible. To be honest, I don't think Ruby will even push him hard enough to force him to use it..."
  16.
  17. "I'm starting to see. Ruby's always needed to use Crescent Rose to quickly change direction when using her semblance... she's got incredible speed and and Crescent Rose gives her power, but she lacks flexibility. Ren's reflexes just need to be good- not extraordinary. Ruby isn't aware there's a split-second where her attacks are telegraphed..."
  18.
  19. "Yeah, and 'cause she likes zipping around the battlefield to harrass her opponent before going in for a big, spectacular finish, Ren can just take it easy and focus on defending himself until she's all tuckered out!"
  20.
  21. "Incredible. Her sister's all-out offensive tactics have always been a part of Ruby's style, so Ren can exploit those same weaknesses Yang has. He's a lot more perceptive than I realized."
  22.
  23. Ruby was a blur across the battlefield, dashing in and out of range of Ren's weapons. It was incredible watching how efficiently little fifteen-year-old Ruby could clear out the grimm, but watching her fight now she could see the girl's limitations as clear as day. Her rushes were always in straight lines, occasionally assisted by Crescent Rose's weight to make a hard turn.
  24.
  25. "She's harrying him. Trying to find a weak spot in his defense." Pyrrha noticed.
  26.
  27. "Hehe, but look how much aura she's burning through! She's too optimistic for her own good, thinking that if she just tries a little bit harder, she'll be able to find the right angle and break through his defense. She's trying a hundred different things when her weapon and her speed are way, way, WAY better for single decisive strikes. Huge, massive, overwhelming power all focused into one point! If she were more patient, maybe she'd find it. But she's fighting Ren, so she's already lost. Only question is when she realizes that." Nora said with a small giggle.
