  1. "I’m sorry but are you implying that women have somehow been keeping men down for that time?"
  2. No. This is the go-to criticism thrown at counter-feminists. Criticizing feminism and advocating for men in no way implies blaming women.
  3.
  4. "I don’t mean to belittle you. Truly I don’t and I’m sorry if I’m offending you but that is a ridiculous claim."
  5. Fortunately, it's just a straw claim.
  6.
  7. "Men getting conscripted into wars can hardly be lain at the feet of women."
  8. Again, not blaming women.
  9.
  10. "Women did not even get he right to vote till 1920."
  11. And neither did men until 1870.
  12.
  13. "Before that any possible conscription or draft act was at the decision of men."
  14. No, it was at the decision of the state. And the state isn't "men," just because most of them are men.
  15.
  16. "Women do not have to register for selective service and men do."
  17. And our voting rights are contingent upon it. As well as a host of other services.
  18.
  19. "This does not seem like a serious issue of unfairness to men due to the fact that there is no draft and that it is very unlikely to ever be one again."
  20. Not necessarily true. There have always been 20-50 year gaps between drafts and pro-SSS people always say, "Well it's not likely to happen again... it hasn't happened for 30 years!"
  21.
  22. "However you mention that there are grants and jobs that are unavailable unless you register. That is not a problem for men due to the fact that they have to register it is only unfair to women due to the fact that they cannot register."
  23. But women get those perks without registering!
  24.
  25. "Female on male domestic violence ... Both genders deserve equal protection under the law and support from their communities when reporting, escaping and recovering from said abuse. I doubt you will find many feminists that disagree."
  26. Tell that to the feminists that got the Duluth model implemented in courts.
  27.
  28. "The legal systems that think men can’t get raped are wrong and that also is a men’s issue that needs to be addressed. I am not aware of the rulings that stated this but if you pass along a link I’ll be happy to educate myself further."
  29. Center your focus on the FBI definition of 'rape' and the CDC's classification of "made to penetrate" as "other sexual violence."
  30.
  31. "Again again I doubt you will find many feminists that disagree that men can be raped..."
  32. But you'll find the majority of them follow it up with, "But it's other men who are doing it!"
  33. That's both factually wrong, and takes attention away from supporting the victim to persecuting the perpetrator (which has been wrongly named to be "men.")
  34.
  35. "Male circumcision as I understand it is primarily a religious practice."
  36. Not in the united states. Now most people do it 'just because.' They do it because they think it's the normal thing to do, and the medical community in the states push bad information about health concerns which somehow 78% of the rest of the world are able to deal with without circumcision.
  37.
  38. "Does that make it right? Absolutely not!"
  39. Try suggesting that it's morally wrong to an American and see what happens.
  40.
  41. "I don’t hear any feminists arguing that it continue though."
  42. They're out there. Bring it up and they will do anything and everything to change the subject to FGM, how it's so different than 'circumcision (MGM),' and how all efforts need to be made to stop FGM, at the expense of any efforts to stop MGM.
  43.
  44. "I am not saying that men have no issues to address in this world.... They need to be discussed and they need to be fixed or addressed in some way..."
  45. That's what men's rights groups are trying to do.
  46.
  47. "However, and I’ll add in the comment just above yours, feminists are not the primary issue facing men and boys."
  48. No, they are the biggest issue facing men's rights groups, and the single biggest obstacle toward said groups getting anything done.
  49.
  50. "Feminists could be a powerful ally to the men’s movement..."
  51. No, they cannot. Our issues are completely outside their purview and they have made that known time and time again. It's always the same story: "Join our efforts for equality, now sit in the corner while we fix women's issues."
  52.
  53. "I believe that if the men’s rights movement actually spent their time working for male rape victims and male victims of domestic abuse, that they would find little resistance."
  54. The MRM does spend time working for male victims, and catch unending flak for it. You cannot in any way indicate any female perpetrator without feminists attacking you.
  55.
  56. "The problem is that the men’s rights movement dose not want that."
  57. That is an unfounded and slanderous statement. You do not hang out in MRM spaces (clearly from your level of understanding of it), do not know the issues the MRM faces, and are only aware of the public-facing aspect of it.
  58.
  59. "It seems to me that the men’s rights movement would rather spend its time demonizing feminists."
  60. Again, that's because you're only aware of the public-facing aspect of it, and even that is through the lens of feminist ideology which is openly hostile to anyone doing anything without their say-so. And someone has got to do it, or men's issues will never get addressed. Feminism IS the most visible and second-biggest problem men's rights advocates (not 'men') face.
