- We had a streak of odd numbers previously, but that's perhaps been replaced by a streak of even numbers. That's my way of saying that after Porter's 6 week run, Pulled Apart By Horses end their run with 4 weeks at #1, and now "Hot Squash" is down to #2. Replacing them would be The Antlers of course, whose lovely "Palace" finally gains the momentum to take the top spot. Architecture In Helsinki are still behind at #3 with "I Might Survive", while Indiana holds "Solo Dancing" at #4 for a 4th week in a row. New to the top 5 however is Interpol, who take "All The Rage Back Home" up 3 places to #5, making it their outright highest ever charter. They're one of 2 'I' artists in the top 10 currently, who diversely find their place along with 3 'A' artists & 3 'P' artists. The only artists missing in that batch are the new ones in the top 10. First off, Wunder Wunder rise up 3 places with "Midnight Hours" to #8, beating the #9 peak of their first entry "Coastline" earlier this year. Kimbra is also one who's familiar with similarly peaking hits, since most of her tracks peak in the bottom half of the top 10. She can (for the time being) add another one to that tally, as "Miracle" moves up 2 places to #10. If you want to include that Gotye song, it's her 6th top 10 hit. ∆
- return to their peak of #29 with "Hunger Of The Pine", while Lilly Wood & The Prick have the biggest mover, "Prayer In C" is up 6 places to #32 this week.
- NEW ENTRIES
- I first heard this via a forum game and took to it quickly. Obviously not as quickly as "Stolen Dance" which eventually found its way into my top 5 under similar origins. Backed by the fact that it was super cheap on iTunes, I've decided to let "She Moves (Far Away)" into my chart this week at #27. It's Alle Farben's first ever entry amazingly.
- Finally, an artist who has been long absent from my chart, partly because they've taken a lengthy gap between albums. Spoon picked up two entries back in 2010, most notably "The Mystery Zone" which peaked at #5, and now they're back and showing off their relevance. "Do You" is their 3rd song to chart, and it's in at #36.
