  1. AUTHOR'S NOTE
  2. ---------------
  3. This is my first attempt at a multi-part story. Experimenting with something people call "suspense". Something that I only thought was used in Bridges and intense Political Speeches. And also character development. Don't be mad if it's bad. Or you can get mad, I won't stop you. It's all for the greater good.
  4. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5.
  6. >Day It Begins in Equestria
  7. >Wake up and stretch
  8. >Scratch the back of your head, yawning
  9. >Kick off the covers and get dressed
  10. >Walk into the bathroom and start brushing teeth
  11. >A note stuck to the corner of the mirror says "Barricade house today"
  12. >Grunt in acknowledgement
  13. >Finish up and head downstairs to get some food
  14. >A toolbox sits on the kitchen counter
  15. >Groan at the thought of the coming day
  16. >But it's got to be done, unless you want to risk damage
  17. >Chew on an apple and head out the backdoor to your shed
  18. >Unlock the shed door and open it
  19. >Fluttershy is stood in the cramped space
  20. >"G-good morning! Is illogical breaking and entering your fetish?"
  21. Fluttershy how did you even do this?
  22. >Look behind her and see a huge hole with a dirty shovel resting next to it
  23. Oh.
  24. >She beams at you
  25. >"I did it because I love you!"
  26. >Stare at her
  27. Fluttershy, you wouldn't know what love was if it hit you in the face
  28. >"W-well if you spray your seed all over my face I'll know what it is... And what it tastes like..."
  29. God damn you're a foul creature.
  30. >Her ears go flat
  31. >"I just want to love you, Anon!"
  32. And do you?
  33. >"Yes!"
  34. Then why are you breaking into my she- fuck, How long have you been digging this tunnel? Where does it lead?
  35. >"M-my cottage."
  36. That's at the other side of town, Fluttershy.
  37. >"It's taken me a few months... But it was worth it for you!"
  38. >Rub your temples
  39. Look. We have to prepare for the storm today. Have you fixed up your cottage?
  40. >"Oh yes. I left Angel bunny to do it"
  41. You left a rabbit in charge of home security
  42. >"He's very smart for a bunny."
  43.
  44. 1/?
  45.
  46. >Reach over her head and grab a few planks of wood led against the shed wall
  47. >She takes the opportunity to bury her face in your crotch and sniff loudly
  48. >She shudders
  49. Can you not do that? It's really creepy.
  50. >"S-sorry"
  51. No you're not.
  52. >"Oh... Sorry"
  53. Stop apologising
  54. >"Right. Yes. Sorry."
  55. >This horse.
  56. >Grab a few more planks and rest them over your shoulder
  57. >"Anon?"
  58. What.
  59. >"C-can I help you?"
  60. Sure, I guess. Just try not to break anything.
  61. >You go around the house with the planks, hammering them over windows and making sure there are no leaks in the roof
  62. >The whole time, Fluttershy pretends to work, when really she's just staring at your sweaty body
  63. >At one point you have no choice but to remove your shirt because of the heat, upon doing this you hear Fluttershy whimper and fall off the roof
  64. >Roll your eyes and carry on hitting the roof with a hammer.
  65. >You have no idea what you're doing up there, but it feels like you're making progress.
  66. >Climb down the ladders and look at the house with your hands on your hips
  67. >Everything looks great, as far as you can see
  68. >Turn to Fluttershy, who is drooling at your shirtless chest
  69. Well, Fluttershy. You did fuck all, can't hold a hammer, were completely useless to me and only stared me while I worked for about-
  70. >Check your watch
  71. 4 hours. Thanks for your help
  72. >"N-no problem, Anon. If you need anything else I can help you"
  73. >She throws down her hammer
  74. >"Oh no! Let me just pick that up"
  75. >She leans over the hammer, presenting herself to you
  76. You're deranged, Fluttershy.
  77. >"If being in love makes you deranged, then I don't want to be ranged"
  78. That's not even... Go home.
  79. >"Okay..."
  80.
  81. 2/?
  82.
  83. >After she leaves you jog into town to get some food
  84. >It's market day, despite the coming storm, and ponies are hurredly selling their wares and nervously looking at the sky
  85. >Pegasi have begun creating massive cloud formations, the sky turning black with volatile storm clouds
  86. >You watch as a Pegasi is too rough with one, and it spits out a static charge back at her
  87. >She shakes herself off and more gently moves it around
  88. >Look away and carry on jogging up to a stall
  89. >A bright blue Earth Pony with a green mane smiles at you
  90. >"Hey there, Anon! Here for some cucumbers?"
  91. You know it, Greenthumb. How much do you want for 3?
  92. >You always smile at the idea of her parents calling her GreenTHUMB. Since ponies lack them. But it's just another one of those strange occurences in this increasingly bizzare world.
  93. >"Oooh, well I'd normally say 5, but for you I can make it 4."
  94. >Her smile widens
  95. >You grin back and wink at her as you pass her 5 bits
  96. 4 for the food, 1 as a tip.
  97. >She blushes slightly
  98. >"T-thanks, Anon... You be careful with the storm yeah?"
  99. I will be, bye!
  100. >Continue hopping from stall to stall, filling your bag with foodstuffs and other delights
  101. >You have the bits to afford it all, since you're constantly working around town.
  102. >No concrete job placements, but ponies know what you can do with your hands so you've done everything from pruning bushes to sewing
  103. >The pay is good as well. You try to make a good impression and it's payed off, ponies respect you and greet you with a smile.
  104. >It's a good life, apart from Fluttershy.
  105. >But even she is somewhat tolerable. You just wish she'd stop with the fetish guessing
  106. >Last week she actually froze herself in a giant icecube
  107. >You found her on your doorstep, her face frozen in a half-blink, that made it look like she was in the middle of sneezing when she flash-froze herself
  108. >A note was hammered into the ice that read "Is hypothermia your fetish?"
  109. >Spent the whole afternoon chipping away bits of ice to get her out before she died.
  110.
  111. 3/?
  112.
  113. >With a bag full of vegetables and the storm clouds above starting to rumble, you decide to head back
  114. >Your house comes into view and you see a familiar being stood in front of your door, shuffling nervously
  115. Oh for...
  116. >Fluttershy looks around and sees you heading towards her
  117. >She flies on over and you can see worry in her eyes
  118. >"Anon! I umm... Have sort of a- uhh. Problem... Help..."
  119. >Don't answer, just motion for her to follow you inside
  120. >Sit down in the living room and beckon to a chair facing you
  121. >She takes a seat, but sits in an upright position
  122. >She seems incredibly nervous, maybe even scared.
  123. What's wrong?
  124. >"Umm. Well I got back to my house and Angel bunny hadn't made my house safe..."
  125. >The rabbit didn't perform manual labour on command? What a shock.
  126. Please don't say what I think you're going to say.
  127. >"And I was wondering..."
  128. Don't.
  129. >"Since my house isn't safe from the storm... Can I stay with you tonight?"
  130. God dammit.
  131. >Stand up and look down at her
  132. >She peers up hopefully, a small smile on her face
  133. >"Please?"
  134. Aren't you worried about your animals?
  135. >"They'll be fine. They'll shelter in the Everfree while the storm happens... Weather here doesn't affect that area"
  136. >This is beginning to sound like a poorly constructed rape attempt
  137. >If you went over to her house now, you risk getting caught in the storm
  138. >You wish you could call her bluff be she looks genuinely scared
  139. >Either she's a brilliant actress or she was actually dumb enough to ask a rabbit to make her house safe
  140.
  141. 4/?
  142.
  143. >It's just one night. You can survive it.
  144. Alright, Fluttershy. You can stop here while the storm is happening, but as soon as it's over you're out.
  145. >"Yes! Thank you, Anon! You're so generous..."
  146. >She lunges at you and squeezes your middle tightly, rubbing her face into your belly
  147. >Sigh and pry her off
  148. >Point a finger at her
  149. No funny business. I just want a normal evening, and hope that the barricades hold. Okay?
  150. >She salutes with a serious look on her face
  151. >"Got it"
  152. >The serious face dissolves and she gains a look of bliss
  153. >She begins bouncing around the room happily
  154. >"Oooh, we can do so many fun things! I heard about a slumber party that Twilight once had and it sounded wonderful!"
  155. >Roll your eyes and take your bag of food into the kitchen
  156. >Fluttershy bounces after you, still firing off "fun" activites for you both to do
  157. >"W-we can tell each other scary stories, and read by the fire, and snuggle, and practice k-kissing! Oh this is going to be so much fun!"
  158. >Try and ignore her as you stock the fridge
  159. >"Ooh~... And if the storm gets too scary... We c-can huddle together under the bed covers and keep each other safe!"
  160. >Oh hell no
  161. We are NOT sleeping in the same bed. We're sleeping in separate rooms
  162. >Her ears go flat
  163. >"P-please? I promise I won't do anything..."
  164. That's a lie and you know it.
  165. >She mumbles something under her breath
  166. >You're about to ask what the hell she just said but a flash outside lights up the room, followed by a distant rumbling
  167. >The storm has begun
  168.
  169. 5/?
  170.
  171. >Fluttershy launches herself into your chest, shaking.
  172. Oh come on, you're not scared of thunder, are you?
  173. >"Y-y-yes"
  174. >Let out a frustrated groan
  175. >Look at the clock on the wall
  176. >6 o Clock
  177. >You pull Fluttershy off you and walk into the living room again, picking up a book as you walk
  178. >You read it by lamplight as Fluttershy watches you
  179. >The minutes tick by and Fluttershy continues to gaze at you, occasionally sharing highly thought provoking words of wisdom
  180. >"I-if you came inside me, do you think we'd have foals?"
  181. >Look up at her and regard her with the most uninterested expression you can muster
  182. >"Is that a yes?"
  183. No. Biology doesn't work that way, Fluttershy.
  184. >"Oh. Okay..."
  185. >She looks down
  186. >You continue reading
  187. >"I bet if we got married, you'd be so happy with me"
  188. >Look at her again
  189. And why do you think that?
  190. >"Because I would do anything for you, mister. I just want to make you h-happy."
  191. Fluttershy. 2 months ago I woke up tied to my bed, with you trying to get me hard. That's not love, nor does it make me happy.
  192. >She looks hurt
  193. >"B-but I offer you everything! F-food, companionship, sex... What do I have to do?"
  194. You need to let this go. I'm not interested in you, Fluttershy. You can't force someone to be attracted to you. Even if I spent the rest of my days with you I wouldn't become attracted to you.
  195. >Fluttershy jumps of her chair, lip trembling
  196. >"O-okay, Anon. If that's what you want."
  197. >She heads of towards the stairs slowly
  198. Where are you going?
  199. >"To bed"
  200. >Damn, you really hurt her this time.
  201. >It's her own fault though. She can't take no for an answer
  202.
  203. 6/?
  204.
  205. >Another hour of quiet reading passes
  206. >You look towards the clock
  207. >10 o Clock
  208. >Time flies.
  209. >You decide to call it a night, the storm still raging outside
  210. >You shudder at the noise of the howling wind and rain lashing against the windows
  211. >Peer outside into the gloomy darkness
  212. >Trees are nearly bent in half from the force of the wind, and a branch breaks off one, spinning wildly into the night, carried by the wind
  213. >Walking upstairs, you hear a faint sobbing over the sound of the wind
  214. >Stop outside the guest room
  215. >Listen for a while
  216. >Gently push open the door and peer inside
  217. >The room is dark, save for the occasional lightning bolt illuminating the room
  218. >A dark shape is led on the bed, facing away from the door
  219. >It sobs again and trembles
  220. >Lets get this over with
  221. >Step into the room and sit down on the bed
  222. >Fluttershy's head raises to look at you, her face streaked with tears
  223. >You offer a smile and rub her ear
  224. >She sniffs and positions herself so that you can rub more
  225. What am I going to do with you, Fluttershy?
  226. >"L-love me?"
  227. You know I can't do that.
  228. >Her lip trembles again
  229. >"It hurts, Anon. Every time you reject me. It hurts so much"
  230. >You pull her in close and shush her
  231. I know it does, Fluttershy.
  232. >Sit there stroking her, listening to the sounds of the storm for a while
  233. >Look down
  234. >Fluttershy smiles up at you
  235. All better?
  236. >"Yes..."
  237. >Lay her down and pull the covers over her
  238. >"C-can I have a good night kiss?"
  239. >Shake you head and let out a short laugh
  240. You never change, do you?
  241.
  242. 7/?
  243.
  244. >She smiles nonetheless and closes her eyes
  245. >"Good night, Anon. I'll get you some day."
  246. >At that she falls into slumber. Dreaming Fluttershy dreams.
  247. >You walk across the landing to your room and lay down on the bed, listening to the near-monsoon outside
  248. >Another flash creates shadows at every part of your room, followed by the boom you had grown accustomed to over the course of the night
  249. >Staring at the the ceiling from your back, you find that you can't sleep
  250. >Get up and go over to the window
  251. >Watch the storm blow outside through the gaps in the wood
  252. >Entire branches are being torn off trees
  253. >You watch in shock as one such branch collides with the side of your house, bouncing off the wood over a downstairs window
  254. >The impact sends a loud bang through the house, and you hear a scream from Fluttershy's room
  255. >You walk over to her room and see her sat up, trembling with wide eyes
  256. >She sees you enter and jumps into your arms again
  257. >You carry her into your room, and lie her down on your bed
  258. Try and get some sleep, Fluttershy.
  259. >She nods fearfully and you go over to the bathroom
  260. >You splash water on your face and look in the mirror
  261. >You become lost in thought for a while then turn around and see Fluttershy watching you
  262. Come on Fluttershy, go to slee-
  263. >The house shudders as a huge branch smashes straight through the window barricade, colliding with the side of Fluttershy and launching her into the opposing wall
  264. >You stare in horror at the place she was sat for a second
  265. >The wind and rain begin pouring into the room, and another flash of lightning reveals Fluttershy's crumpled body in the corner of your room, crushed under the branch
  266. >You run over to her, screaming her name
  267. >Ignoring the freezing wind chilling you to the bone, you try and move the branch off her
  268. >After much effort you shift it from on top of her and shake her body with a hand
  269. >She's not moving
  270. >Her eyes are distant and glazed over, an expression of shock on her face
  271. >Tears form in your eyes as it hits you
  272. >She's gone.
  273.
  274. 8/?
  275.
  276. >You start openly crying as the storm howls outside, cradling Fluttershy's lifeless body in your arms
  277. I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry...
  278.
  279. >Morning comes
  280. >You haven't said much to anyone since the events of last night
  281. >Practically everyone broke down and cried upon hearing the news, except Applejack.
  282. >She stayed strong and nodded with a trembling lip
  283. >As for you, you headed home and started to fix the damage, from installing a new window to cleaning the blood from your bedsheets and wall
  284. >You sit in your reading chair that night, staring into space and thinking about Fluttershy
  285. >Hours pass of nothing but silence
  286. >Eventually you decide it's time to go to bed and you slog upstairs, trying not to stare at the corner of your room as you climb into bed
  287. >You turn away from the wall and stare at the window you fixed
  288. >Tears form in your eyes and you feel yourself start to cry again
  289. >As you weep you hear someone speak
  290. >"Anon? Why are you crying?"
  291. >Your eyes widen
  292. >That voice
  293. >Oh god no.
  294. >You've gone mad with grief
  295. >You sit up and stare at the source of the voice
  296. >Fluttershy is hovering at the foot of your bed
  297. >You can see straight through her, and her entire body is floating without use of wings
  298. >"H-have I done something wrong?"
  299. >Stare at her slackjawed
  300. Are... Are you real? Am I not going insane?
  301. >She looks around confused
  302. >"Why, what's wrong?"
  303. >She looks down and inspects her body
  304. >"Oooh... Okay... That."
  305. >You still can't quite believe this
  306. Fluttershy. Y-you're dead.
  307. >She looks at you and smiles
  308. >"I guess."
  309. >She ponders for a second
  310. >"Are Hauntings your fetish?"
  311. AAAAAAAAAA-
  312.
  313. 9/9
  314. End part 1
