- AUTHOR'S NOTE
- ---------------
- This is my first attempt at a multi-part story. Experimenting with something people call "suspense". Something that I only thought was used in Bridges and intense Political Speeches. And also character development. Don't be mad if it's bad. Or you can get mad, I won't stop you. It's all for the greater good.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- >Day It Begins in Equestria
- >Wake up and stretch
- >Scratch the back of your head, yawning
- >Kick off the covers and get dressed
- >Walk into the bathroom and start brushing teeth
- >A note stuck to the corner of the mirror says "Barricade house today"
- >Grunt in acknowledgement
- >Finish up and head downstairs to get some food
- >A toolbox sits on the kitchen counter
- >Groan at the thought of the coming day
- >But it's got to be done, unless you want to risk damage
- >Chew on an apple and head out the backdoor to your shed
- >Unlock the shed door and open it
- >Fluttershy is stood in the cramped space
- >"G-good morning! Is illogical breaking and entering your fetish?"
- Fluttershy how did you even do this?
- >Look behind her and see a huge hole with a dirty shovel resting next to it
- Oh.
- >She beams at you
- >"I did it because I love you!"
- >Stare at her
- Fluttershy, you wouldn't know what love was if it hit you in the face
- >"W-well if you spray your seed all over my face I'll know what it is... And what it tastes like..."
- God damn you're a foul creature.
- >Her ears go flat
- >"I just want to love you, Anon!"
- And do you?
- >"Yes!"
- Then why are you breaking into my she- fuck, How long have you been digging this tunnel? Where does it lead?
- >"M-my cottage."
- That's at the other side of town, Fluttershy.
- >"It's taken me a few months... But it was worth it for you!"
- >Rub your temples
- Look. We have to prepare for the storm today. Have you fixed up your cottage?
- >"Oh yes. I left Angel bunny to do it"
- You left a rabbit in charge of home security
- >"He's very smart for a bunny."
- 1/?
- >Reach over her head and grab a few planks of wood led against the shed wall
- >She takes the opportunity to bury her face in your crotch and sniff loudly
- >She shudders
- Can you not do that? It's really creepy.
- >"S-sorry"
- No you're not.
- >"Oh... Sorry"
- Stop apologising
- >"Right. Yes. Sorry."
- >This horse.
- >Grab a few more planks and rest them over your shoulder
- >"Anon?"
- What.
- >"C-can I help you?"
- Sure, I guess. Just try not to break anything.
- >You go around the house with the planks, hammering them over windows and making sure there are no leaks in the roof
- >The whole time, Fluttershy pretends to work, when really she's just staring at your sweaty body
- >At one point you have no choice but to remove your shirt because of the heat, upon doing this you hear Fluttershy whimper and fall off the roof
- >Roll your eyes and carry on hitting the roof with a hammer.
- >You have no idea what you're doing up there, but it feels like you're making progress.
- >Climb down the ladders and look at the house with your hands on your hips
- >Everything looks great, as far as you can see
- >Turn to Fluttershy, who is drooling at your shirtless chest
- Well, Fluttershy. You did fuck all, can't hold a hammer, were completely useless to me and only stared me while I worked for about-
- >Check your watch
- 4 hours. Thanks for your help
- >"N-no problem, Anon. If you need anything else I can help you"
- >She throws down her hammer
- >"Oh no! Let me just pick that up"
- >She leans over the hammer, presenting herself to you
- You're deranged, Fluttershy.
- >"If being in love makes you deranged, then I don't want to be ranged"
- That's not even... Go home.
- >"Okay..."
- 2/?
- >After she leaves you jog into town to get some food
- >It's market day, despite the coming storm, and ponies are hurredly selling their wares and nervously looking at the sky
- >Pegasi have begun creating massive cloud formations, the sky turning black with volatile storm clouds
- >You watch as a Pegasi is too rough with one, and it spits out a static charge back at her
- >She shakes herself off and more gently moves it around
- >Look away and carry on jogging up to a stall
- >A bright blue Earth Pony with a green mane smiles at you
- >"Hey there, Anon! Here for some cucumbers?"
- You know it, Greenthumb. How much do you want for 3?
- >You always smile at the idea of her parents calling her GreenTHUMB. Since ponies lack them. But it's just another one of those strange occurences in this increasingly bizzare world.
- >"Oooh, well I'd normally say 5, but for you I can make it 4."
- >Her smile widens
- >You grin back and wink at her as you pass her 5 bits
- 4 for the food, 1 as a tip.
- >She blushes slightly
- >"T-thanks, Anon... You be careful with the storm yeah?"
- I will be, bye!
- >Continue hopping from stall to stall, filling your bag with foodstuffs and other delights
- >You have the bits to afford it all, since you're constantly working around town.
- >No concrete job placements, but ponies know what you can do with your hands so you've done everything from pruning bushes to sewing
- >The pay is good as well. You try to make a good impression and it's payed off, ponies respect you and greet you with a smile.
- >It's a good life, apart from Fluttershy.
- >But even she is somewhat tolerable. You just wish she'd stop with the fetish guessing
- >Last week she actually froze herself in a giant icecube
- >You found her on your doorstep, her face frozen in a half-blink, that made it look like she was in the middle of sneezing when she flash-froze herself
- >A note was hammered into the ice that read "Is hypothermia your fetish?"
- >Spent the whole afternoon chipping away bits of ice to get her out before she died.
- 3/?
- >With a bag full of vegetables and the storm clouds above starting to rumble, you decide to head back
- >Your house comes into view and you see a familiar being stood in front of your door, shuffling nervously
- Oh for...
- >Fluttershy looks around and sees you heading towards her
- >She flies on over and you can see worry in her eyes
- >"Anon! I umm... Have sort of a- uhh. Problem... Help..."
- >Don't answer, just motion for her to follow you inside
- >Sit down in the living room and beckon to a chair facing you
- >She takes a seat, but sits in an upright position
- >She seems incredibly nervous, maybe even scared.
- What's wrong?
- >"Umm. Well I got back to my house and Angel bunny hadn't made my house safe..."
- >The rabbit didn't perform manual labour on command? What a shock.
- Please don't say what I think you're going to say.
- >"And I was wondering..."
- Don't.
- >"Since my house isn't safe from the storm... Can I stay with you tonight?"
- God dammit.
- >Stand up and look down at her
- >She peers up hopefully, a small smile on her face
- >"Please?"
- Aren't you worried about your animals?
- >"They'll be fine. They'll shelter in the Everfree while the storm happens... Weather here doesn't affect that area"
- >This is beginning to sound like a poorly constructed rape attempt
- >If you went over to her house now, you risk getting caught in the storm
- >You wish you could call her bluff be she looks genuinely scared
- >Either she's a brilliant actress or she was actually dumb enough to ask a rabbit to make her house safe
- 4/?
- >It's just one night. You can survive it.
- Alright, Fluttershy. You can stop here while the storm is happening, but as soon as it's over you're out.
- >"Yes! Thank you, Anon! You're so generous..."
- >She lunges at you and squeezes your middle tightly, rubbing her face into your belly
- >Sigh and pry her off
- >Point a finger at her
- No funny business. I just want a normal evening, and hope that the barricades hold. Okay?
- >She salutes with a serious look on her face
- >"Got it"
- >The serious face dissolves and she gains a look of bliss
- >She begins bouncing around the room happily
- >"Oooh, we can do so many fun things! I heard about a slumber party that Twilight once had and it sounded wonderful!"
- >Roll your eyes and take your bag of food into the kitchen
- >Fluttershy bounces after you, still firing off "fun" activites for you both to do
- >"W-we can tell each other scary stories, and read by the fire, and snuggle, and practice k-kissing! Oh this is going to be so much fun!"
- >Try and ignore her as you stock the fridge
- >"Ooh~... And if the storm gets too scary... We c-can huddle together under the bed covers and keep each other safe!"
- >Oh hell no
- We are NOT sleeping in the same bed. We're sleeping in separate rooms
- >Her ears go flat
- >"P-please? I promise I won't do anything..."
- That's a lie and you know it.
- >She mumbles something under her breath
- >You're about to ask what the hell she just said but a flash outside lights up the room, followed by a distant rumbling
- >The storm has begun
- 5/?
- >Fluttershy launches herself into your chest, shaking.
- Oh come on, you're not scared of thunder, are you?
- >"Y-y-yes"
- >Let out a frustrated groan
- >Look at the clock on the wall
- >6 o Clock
- >You pull Fluttershy off you and walk into the living room again, picking up a book as you walk
- >You read it by lamplight as Fluttershy watches you
- >The minutes tick by and Fluttershy continues to gaze at you, occasionally sharing highly thought provoking words of wisdom
- >"I-if you came inside me, do you think we'd have foals?"
- >Look up at her and regard her with the most uninterested expression you can muster
- >"Is that a yes?"
- No. Biology doesn't work that way, Fluttershy.
- >"Oh. Okay..."
- >She looks down
- >You continue reading
- >"I bet if we got married, you'd be so happy with me"
- >Look at her again
- And why do you think that?
- >"Because I would do anything for you, mister. I just want to make you h-happy."
- Fluttershy. 2 months ago I woke up tied to my bed, with you trying to get me hard. That's not love, nor does it make me happy.
- >She looks hurt
- >"B-but I offer you everything! F-food, companionship, sex... What do I have to do?"
- You need to let this go. I'm not interested in you, Fluttershy. You can't force someone to be attracted to you. Even if I spent the rest of my days with you I wouldn't become attracted to you.
- >Fluttershy jumps of her chair, lip trembling
- >"O-okay, Anon. If that's what you want."
- >She heads of towards the stairs slowly
- Where are you going?
- >"To bed"
- >Damn, you really hurt her this time.
- >It's her own fault though. She can't take no for an answer
- 6/?
- >Another hour of quiet reading passes
- >You look towards the clock
- >10 o Clock
- >Time flies.
- >You decide to call it a night, the storm still raging outside
- >You shudder at the noise of the howling wind and rain lashing against the windows
- >Peer outside into the gloomy darkness
- >Trees are nearly bent in half from the force of the wind, and a branch breaks off one, spinning wildly into the night, carried by the wind
- >Walking upstairs, you hear a faint sobbing over the sound of the wind
- >Stop outside the guest room
- >Listen for a while
- >Gently push open the door and peer inside
- >The room is dark, save for the occasional lightning bolt illuminating the room
- >A dark shape is led on the bed, facing away from the door
- >It sobs again and trembles
- >Lets get this over with
- >Step into the room and sit down on the bed
- >Fluttershy's head raises to look at you, her face streaked with tears
- >You offer a smile and rub her ear
- >She sniffs and positions herself so that you can rub more
- What am I going to do with you, Fluttershy?
- >"L-love me?"
- You know I can't do that.
- >Her lip trembles again
- >"It hurts, Anon. Every time you reject me. It hurts so much"
- >You pull her in close and shush her
- I know it does, Fluttershy.
- >Sit there stroking her, listening to the sounds of the storm for a while
- >Look down
- >Fluttershy smiles up at you
- All better?
- >"Yes..."
- >Lay her down and pull the covers over her
- >"C-can I have a good night kiss?"
- >Shake you head and let out a short laugh
- You never change, do you?
- 7/?
- >She smiles nonetheless and closes her eyes
- >"Good night, Anon. I'll get you some day."
- >At that she falls into slumber. Dreaming Fluttershy dreams.
- >You walk across the landing to your room and lay down on the bed, listening to the near-monsoon outside
- >Another flash creates shadows at every part of your room, followed by the boom you had grown accustomed to over the course of the night
- >Staring at the the ceiling from your back, you find that you can't sleep
- >Get up and go over to the window
- >Watch the storm blow outside through the gaps in the wood
- >Entire branches are being torn off trees
- >You watch in shock as one such branch collides with the side of your house, bouncing off the wood over a downstairs window
- >The impact sends a loud bang through the house, and you hear a scream from Fluttershy's room
- >You walk over to her room and see her sat up, trembling with wide eyes
- >She sees you enter and jumps into your arms again
- >You carry her into your room, and lie her down on your bed
- Try and get some sleep, Fluttershy.
- >She nods fearfully and you go over to the bathroom
- >You splash water on your face and look in the mirror
- >You become lost in thought for a while then turn around and see Fluttershy watching you
- Come on Fluttershy, go to slee-
- >The house shudders as a huge branch smashes straight through the window barricade, colliding with the side of Fluttershy and launching her into the opposing wall
- >You stare in horror at the place she was sat for a second
- >The wind and rain begin pouring into the room, and another flash of lightning reveals Fluttershy's crumpled body in the corner of your room, crushed under the branch
- >You run over to her, screaming her name
- >Ignoring the freezing wind chilling you to the bone, you try and move the branch off her
- >After much effort you shift it from on top of her and shake her body with a hand
- >She's not moving
- >Her eyes are distant and glazed over, an expression of shock on her face
- >Tears form in your eyes as it hits you
- >She's gone.
- 8/?
- >You start openly crying as the storm howls outside, cradling Fluttershy's lifeless body in your arms
- I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry...
- >Morning comes
- >You haven't said much to anyone since the events of last night
- >Practically everyone broke down and cried upon hearing the news, except Applejack.
- >She stayed strong and nodded with a trembling lip
- >As for you, you headed home and started to fix the damage, from installing a new window to cleaning the blood from your bedsheets and wall
- >You sit in your reading chair that night, staring into space and thinking about Fluttershy
- >Hours pass of nothing but silence
- >Eventually you decide it's time to go to bed and you slog upstairs, trying not to stare at the corner of your room as you climb into bed
- >You turn away from the wall and stare at the window you fixed
- >Tears form in your eyes and you feel yourself start to cry again
- >As you weep you hear someone speak
- >"Anon? Why are you crying?"
- >Your eyes widen
- >That voice
- >Oh god no.
- >You've gone mad with grief
- >You sit up and stare at the source of the voice
- >Fluttershy is hovering at the foot of your bed
- >You can see straight through her, and her entire body is floating without use of wings
- >"H-have I done something wrong?"
- >Stare at her slackjawed
- Are... Are you real? Am I not going insane?
- >She looks around confused
- >"Why, what's wrong?"
- >She looks down and inspects her body
- >"Oooh... Okay... That."
- >You still can't quite believe this
- Fluttershy. Y-you're dead.
- >She looks at you and smiles
- >"I guess."
- >She ponders for a second
- >"Are Hauntings your fetish?"
- AAAAAAAAAA-
