  1. -----------------Cows--------------------------
  2.
  3. Lore doc for cow society and their integration with ponies.
  4.
  5. Cows are herd animals, through and through. Their sentience in Equestria did not break them of habits back on Earth, and they travel in groups rather than in solitary numbers. Again much like their real world counterparts, cows are not incredibly forward thinking, and are prone to giving in to baser prey instincts (see the cow stampede in Season X Episode Y). This leads them to act rather irrationally and make seemingly ridiculous decisions, as well as act on little to no information in an out of hand manner, such as stampeding for plot purposes or when they feel , keyword: extremely, threatened. On a less violent note: their blase manners of thought processing also tend to drive them to drivel on about rather meaningless details or contrite, frivolous, information.
  6.
  7. Cows, as a culture have come to terms with their use as a utility. In fact, most cows seek no other occupation than their birth given use as milk producers, and though it may seem strange to others, they find comfort in their near monopoly over dairy. Herds of cows often sell themselves as mobile milk-factory troupes, signing agreements with farmers for protection, housing, and any assorted wages (which they usually spend on trivial comforts) in exchange for staying on the farmer's land and providing milk. Though in larger cities its not uncommon for cows to live in their own boroughs and simply commute to a milking station in a factory downtown, much like an actual occupation.
  8.
  9. Cow's have done incredibly well in standardizing their own industry, and any sort of competition for coveted milking slots on farms and factories is mostly discouraged in favor of maintaining a constant and steady inflow of milk; in part, thanks to their reliance on herd mindset forcing them to act more in groupthink rather than self interest. So long as ample food is provided, the quality of milk differs very little amongst different herds, and individual production is the only defining factor in a cow's ability at garnering milking wages.
  10.
  11. Extracurricular:
  12. Cows, though heavily entrenched in generations of adamant reinforcement on their use as dairy producers, are still capable of myriad skills, much like ponies. Particularly enterprising cows fill the rest of their non milking time with bizarre social graces, baking, sewing, smithing, tailoring, knitting, building, or any other simple trade skills that might catch their interest. Stereotypically, they don't exceed in many tasks besides trade skills, however, as by simply being alive, they are capable of earning a modest living.

  15. Traits and RP notes
  16. -Simple, not dim witted. Generally all cows have no real concerns outside their work, and so they appear simplistic
  17. -Basing most cow interactions off of Victorian style intersocial relations. Rather stuffy and focused on gaining good social position without invoking game of thrones behavior. That would be uncouth.
  18. -scandalous behaviors are still present, and while in reality family names are mostly meaningless, cow's are still obsessed with status as a reliable and party line contributor for the herd.
  19. -Larger dames means more milk. more milk means greater renown.
  20. -Any bulls are likely to be chubby chasers, though they're not picky
  21. -Moo puns are encouraged.
