  2. [2014-01-01 13:25:02] <Kkat> 3A month ago, this group of ponies and a griffin were strangers. Together, they signed up to be an exploratory caravan. Their mission, as they discovered later at Darkness Falls, was to penetrate the zebra lands and retrieve a balefire bomb for a private entrepreneur named Golden Buckle.
  3. [2014-01-01 13:25:09] <Kkat> 3The bomb was to be detonated in Gaia Valley, a geographically isolated area -- a box canyon -- where the company Solaris had once detonated a similar bomb in order to test radiation-devouring plant life.

[2014-01-01 13:25:18] <Kkat> 3The group's travels took them through Gaia Valley, where they encountered an Enclave Remnant operation in league with the Barn Stormers gun runners, and where they ended a dormant Solaris threat to the recovering wasteland. It was their first real adventure together, and the first bonding experience for many of them.
  5. [2014-01-01 13:25:37] <Kkat> 3The Crystal Empire proved an even stronger one, as they fought to restore love and life to a crumbled kingdom which had lost its heart. They succeeded, helping an entire people, and nudging the kingdom's leaders to reforge their own shattered relationship.
  6. [2014-01-01 13:25:48] <Kkat> 3In the process, they made new friends. And they helped free two of them -- the cloned mind of Sweetie Belle, set free through technology fashioned by Get_Lost, and the ghostly and mysterious Mare-Do-Well.
  7. [2014-01-01 13:25:59] <Kkat> 3Through each experience, each adventure, they learned about each other, overcame differences, and grew closer. The magic of friendship began to grow between them. And when finally they were beset upon by a windigo within the ruins of the Shattered Hoof SPP tower, that magic was strong enough to drive it off, possibly even wounding it mortally.
  8. [2014-01-01 13:26:23] <Kkat> 3To become friends -- true friends -- you must know each other. And in the wake of the windigo, the group laid bare many of their secrets, letting each other in. Even the mysterious Mare-Do-Well revealed who she truly was. The magical fires of friendship grew stronger.
  9. [2014-01-01 13:28:38] <Kkat> 3Strong enough that they were able to withstand the onslaught of the full windigo pack, banding together in song with the patrol of Enclave Loyalist Remnants who had been attempting to take them prisoner.
  10. [2014-01-01 13:30:16] <Kkat> 3Now, that threat is passed. Will the ties of friendship briefly formed grow stronger, or become brittle and shatter in the cold not that the mutual enemy has fled.

  13. [2014-01-01 13:31:58] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart moves through the snow and darkness, lighting up her horn to look for Tripwire. He might not want their help, but she wasn't the sort to abandon ponies in need. Get_Lost walks side by side with Noble_Heart, looking for the lost pony too.

  15. [2014-01-01 13:32:25] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost's night vision scans the darkness, looking for any sign of Major Tripwire.
  16. [2014-01-01 13:32:32] <Kkat> 3Meanwhile, the Enclave patrol leader orders blankets and mugs of hot drink for the two besieged pegasi, stopping only to commend them on holding out against the foul spirits.
  17. [2014-01-01 13:32:40] <Kkat> 3CopyCat wing-hugs the two shivering pegasi. "You were both very brave."
  18. [2014-01-01 13:32:57] * Get_Silly feels silly for some reason
  19. [2014-01-01 13:32:59] <Kkat> 3She turns to CopyCat. "Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift. And what name should I call you by? Not, I presume, 'Celestia'."
  20. [2014-01-01 13:33:08] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream grumps and sits down. She didn't really know what to make of herself now. Was this that one thing she heard of where a captive grows to like her captors if they're really mean and then stop being mean? This is bullshit. Her head started to ache.
  21. [2014-01-01 13:33:18] <Kkat> 3CopyCat nods. "Tia will do fine. Although most ponies call me CopyCat."
  22. [2014-01-01 13:33:24] <Kkat> 3Bookwright shrugs. "Sometimes she's herself, but mostly she's other ponies."
  23. [2014-01-01 13:33:36] <Kkat> 3"I... see."
  24. [2014-01-01 13:41:29] * Noble_Heart stood in the cold and the dark, her horn glowing as she looked around. "Tripwire? Were We not too late?"
  25. [2014-01-01 13:46:13] * Get_Silly keeps scanning, standing by noble's side
  26. [2014-01-01 13:46:24] * Get_Silly "we could use a damn EFS now"
  27. [2014-01-01 13:51:57] * CopyCat stays with the two shivering enclave ponies, giving them a reassuring smile. "You can call me Celestia though, if it makes you feel better."
  28. [2014-01-01 13:52:10] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift barks into her comm, assessing the situation and swiftly realizing that there are three ponies unaccounted for. "Major Tripwire, respond."
  29. [2014-01-01 13:52:39] * Golden_Dream rubs her temples. Urgh. She hated looking too hard at ghosts. Or maybe her eyeballs are freezing in their sockets. It felt like it.
  30. [2014-01-01 13:55:12] <Kkat> 3Get_Silly, with her artificial vision, is the first to spot the Enclave power armor crashed into the snow.
  31. [2014-01-01 13:55:39] * Get_Silly points at the crashed pony "there! let's go!"
  32. [2014-01-01 13:56:15] * Noble_Heart moves quickly with Get Lost to check on the crashed pony, reaching out with her magic to hopefully pull him free of where he might be trapped. "We hope that We are not too late."
  33. [2014-01-01 13:58:28] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire is unmoving. Get Lost quickly realizes that he is not significantly hurt, although he is at risk of frostbite and hypothermia. His power armor has lost power.
  34. [2014-01-01 13:59:50] * Get_Silly shrugs "he's a little bit frozen... this stupid thing lost power for some reason, i could try something, give me a second"
  35. [2014-01-01 14:00:42] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Odd. Such things are not intended to lose power so easily. We would wonder what happened." She did her best to lift Tripwire from the snow with her magic. "We can carry her back to the others. No doubt someone in their group will know enough to restart his armor."
  36. [2014-01-01 14:01:29] * Get_Silly "sounds good for me... i don't think he's in immediate risk i'll work on it wen we're there"
  37. [2014-01-01 14:01:36] * Bookwright "Maybe the frost spirit caused it? Just a thought."
  38. [2014-01-01 14:03:39] * Noble_Heart nods her head to Get Lost. "Yes. Let us go." She turned to carry Tripwire back towards the others.
  39. [2014-01-01 14:04:16] * Golden_Dream seems to have decided to find a nice corner and try to stay there. Hell if she's gonna get friendly with these chuckle fucks. Gotta keep your guard up. They're gonna start beating on you sometime. Just keep your guard up.
  40. [2014-01-01 14:04:20] * Get_Silly trota behing Noble_Heart "it went pretty well, did it? do you think they'll attack us now? i mean, the enclave...."
  41. [2014-01-01 14:05:38] <Mrs_Voice> "a proper lady should exploit this moment for some classy conversation and for finding a potential husband! don't sit like that, stallions don't grow from the dirt you know!"
  42. [2014-01-01 14:06:23] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift is beginning to organize a search party, chosing who will go an who will stay to watch over the captured ponies and the two pegasi who were assaulted by the windigo pack, neither of whom are in any shape to fly, when Get_Lost and Noble_Heart emerge from the dark, the purple alicorn carrying the fallen Tripwire on her back.

  44. [2014-01-01 14:07:05] * Shatara breathes a sigh of relief upon the return of hiscompanions.
  45. [2014-01-01 14:07:54] * Noble_Heart frowns. "We doubt it. If their goal was to attack, they would surely have done so without asking for Our surrender." She moved towards the pegasi, levitating Tripwire towards the rest of them. "We have found your missing friend. His armor appears to have been disabled somehow."
  46. [2014-01-01 14:07:57] * Golden_Dream glared at her Pipbuck, then looked at Noble and Get coming back. She was half-tempted to ask Get to add a mute button to the pipbuck voice before shaking the thought away.
  47. [2014-01-01 14:08:30] * Get_Silly "he's fine but his armor lost power. do you have any means of restarting it? otherwise he's risking to freeze"
  48. [2014-01-01 14:09:53] * Bookwright "Maybe you can jumpstart it with a working suit?"
  49. [2014-01-01 14:10:29] * CopyCat gives her two pegasi a hug. "And look, there's Get and Noble. They've even found your friend."
  50. [2014-01-01 14:10:53] * Get_Silly "i still have to check what happened here. if the batteries are dead, there's nothing i can do. if the problem comes from something else, it can be fixed, probably. it depends on how medieval i become"
  51. [2014-01-01 14:11:09] * Get_Silly checks the armor now
  52. [2014-01-01 14:12:29] * Get_Silly "on a second thought, i think i'd better check the wounded, guys, can you check the aror please?"
  53. [2014-01-01 14:13:34] * Golden_Dream nods at Get_Silly and Noble and gave a sigh of relief. For somepony that had helped fend off a posse of evil hatred spirits with friendship, she seemed rather quiet and broody.
  54. [2014-01-01 14:13:57] <Kkat> 3Bloodstreak steps forward. "We can reboot it from mine, but..." She pauses, but continues when Snowdrift nods, "...his armor's spell matrix might not have crashed. His armor might have been drained."
  55. [2014-01-01 14:15:30] * Get_Silly "if it is just drained, we just need to cable it to another one, it simply run on rented power"
  56. [2014-01-01 14:16:16] * CopyCat frowns. "Drained? What could do that? Could the windigos do that?"
  57. [2014-01-01 14:16:43] <Kkat> 3Blookstreak explains, "We have reason to suspect there is another spirit who has been tagging along with the windigo pack. Something that feeds off of magic. Many of the windigos' victims have been found with drained power armor, dead energy cells... even dying PipBucks."
  58. [2014-01-01 14:18:05] * Get_Silly "well, that's bad news indeed, since, you know, my brain runs on iternal batteries..."
  59. [2014-01-01 14:18:29] * Golden_Dream frowns as she overhears the news. What the heck kind of ghost eats magic?
  60. [2014-01-01 14:18:33] * Bookwright cocks his head. "I suppose it could be a result of a windego being affected by balefire radiation."
  61. [2014-01-01 14:19:01] * Golden_Dream churns it around in her head. Something... Something about that sounded oddly familiar.
  62. [2014-01-01 14:19:04] * Shatara looks down at the armor-imprisoned pony, pokes at.
  63. [2014-01-01 14:19:29] * Bookwright "If his armor's battery is flat, it might be best to just strip him out of it."
  64. [2014-01-01 14:20:55] * Noble_Heart frowns and sets Tripwire down. "We know magic to summon lightning. But We have doubts it would help to recharge his armor." She looked towards Golden Dream. "You have seen ghosts before, and encountered strange things in the swamp, yes? Have you ever heard of anything like this?"
  65. [2014-01-01 14:23:13] * Get_Silly sighs "okay, sounds like a plan, does anypony have a chainsaw?"
  66. [2014-01-01 14:23:15] <Kkat> 3Bloodstreak nods, but Snowdrift shakes her head. "We can't afford to abandon the armor any more than we would abandon a pony. Major, rig your armor to supply power to his as well."
  67. [2014-01-01 14:23:47] * Golden_Dream huffs, then just kind of glares at Noble. Why the hell are we helping folks that are just going to come around and stab us in the back?
  68. [2014-01-01 14:23:49] * Get_Silly "makes sense"
  69. [2014-01-01 14:25:22] * CopyCat tilts her head at Golden_Dream. "Because they are ponies too."
  70. [2014-01-01 14:25:23] * Bookwright "I never said anything about dumping the armor, just getting the guy out of it. We've plenty of space, we could carry it on the firewagon. Heck, we could put mister statue here on the firewagon and bring him with us, so your engineers could examine him in situ."
  71. [2014-01-01 14:25:28] * Noble_Heart moves over beside Golden Dream and wraps a wing around the smaller pony. "What is the matter? You can tell Us. We are your friend, are We not?"
  72. [2014-01-01 14:25:36] * Get_Silly "still, i'd give him some anti-freeze"
  73. [2014-01-01 14:26:10] * Shatara pokes his pipbuck somewhat nervously.
  74. [2014-01-01 14:28:52] * Get_Silly frowns and shakes her head "well, we better move then... the first we move, the first we can go"
  75. [2014-01-01 14:29:23] * Golden_Dream narrows her eyes at CopyCat, then just exhales through her teeth. "Some... Wrong sorta ghosts eat or fuck with living ponies. Maybe th' frost took out the circuits and whatever it might be swung around and thought it would be a free meal. And then th' magic in his armor was a bonus."
  76. [2014-01-01 14:30:31] * CopyCat smiles again at the pegasi, this time at Bloodstreak and Snowdrift as well. "So how long have you been guarding this place?"
  77. [2014-01-01 14:33:54] * Golden_Dream just kind of steams for a little while. "Reminds me way too much'a dad's old 'friends'." She seemed to whisper with the same sort of ferocity as if swearing under her breath.
  78. [2014-01-01 14:34:28] <Kkat> 3Bloodstreak opens up flank-panels on her armor and Major Tripwires, and locks connecting cables between the power supplies. Soon, Tripwire is able to move again. "f-f-Fuck, I'm cold."
  79. [2014-01-01 14:34:35] * Noble_Heart blinks and frowns. "Hrm. That is an interesting thought." SHe looks down to Golden Dream. "We are sorry that these ponies remind you of painful times in your past. But for now We do not wish to fight them."
  80. [2014-01-01 14:36:37] * Golden_Dream grumbles. "Y' can't make me want t' help 'em." She whispered back.
  81. [2014-01-01 14:36:52] * Get_Silly "well, yeah, fucking would keep you warm... maybe a little blunt, but really effective"
  82. [2014-01-01 14:37:40] * Golden_Dream sort of hopes her new pipbuck friend heard Get say that.
  83. [2014-01-01 14:38:39] <Kkat> 3Bloodstreak and Snowdrift seem unwilling to give up intel on Enclave operations, but one of the younger pegasi answers, "We have a patrol flight over the SPP Ruins once a day."
  84. [2014-01-01 14:38:44] * Shatara facetallons.
  85. [2014-01-01 14:39:18] * Noble_Heart frowns and sighs quietly. "We do not blame you for not wishing to help. But We would feel remiss for allowing ponies to die in such a way."
  86. [2014-01-01 14:39:18] * CopyCat glances down at the immobile Tripwire. "Well, that might be difficult with all the armour. But I also have a spell that might help."
  87. [2014-01-01 14:39:47] * Bookwright winces. Facetaloning looks like it /hurts./
  88. [2014-01-01 14:40:21] * Get_Silly "don't worry copy, he's fine, those armors are completely thermal insulated, as soon as he got power back, the armor started heating again"
  89. [2014-01-01 14:40:51] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire grouses, "I don't need help fucking. I need help not freezing my fucker off."
  90. [2014-01-01 14:41:31] * Get_Silly frowns "weird, you should feel already warmer..." tries running a diagnostic on the armor
  91. [2014-01-01 14:41:50] * Get_Silly "maybe some systems didn't reboot?"
  92. [2014-01-01 14:42:15] * Bookwright "Just thank Celestia you're still around to complain. Now let's stop dawdling around here and get going.
  93. [2014-01-01 14:42:29] <Kkat> 3Get Lost's diagnostic shows that the armor is functioning, and that he should be getting warmer. Maybe it's just slow? Or maybe he's just in a complainy mood?
  94. [2014-01-01 14:42:57] * Get_Silly patpats the stalion on the helmet "it will get better soon"
  95. [2014-01-01 14:44:34] * Get_Silly "oh, by the way.... what drained your capacitors empty? we took the wndigo from your back, this is quite weird..."
  96. [2014-01-01 14:44:52] * CopyCat turns away from Tripwire's hostility and addresses the young pegasi who answered her instead. "Flying patrols like that must be quite scary with windigos around. Not to mention the cold."
  97. [2014-01-01 14:45:09] * Get_Silly "did you have starnge readings on your sensors, heard sounds, anything you could point as not wendigo related?"
  98. [2014-01-01 14:45:34] * Noble_Heart sighs quietly, just sitting beside Goldy and holding her with a wing.
  99. [2014-01-01 14:45:52] * Golden_Dream lets out a long exhale. "I don't think I got th' same sorta mercy left in me there, Noble." Her voice was deliberate and lower-pitched.
  100. [2014-01-01 14:46:40] <Kkat> 3The Lieutenant Colonel orders the two younger pegasi, Gust and Morning Glimmer, to stay on the wagon with the non-flying ponies. "Major Tripwire, your armor is functioning. You will need to fly in close formation with Major Bloodstreak. The two of you take up the rear. Star Dust, you're on point! Let's move out, everypony."
  101. [2014-01-01 14:47:09] * Kkat 3turns to CopyCat, "Have your ponies stay in the center and follow us."
  102. [2014-01-01 14:47:15] * Get_Silly shrugs and jumps on the wagon
  103. [2014-01-01 14:47:20] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift turns to CopyCat, "Have your ponies stay in the center and follow us."
  104. [2014-01-01 14:48:03] * Noble_Heart stands up and ushers Goldy into their wagon. "It is understandable." She moved to get strapped into the wagon.
  105. [2014-01-01 14:48:33] <Kkat> 3As Snowdrift is issuing orders, the ghostly form of Mare-Do-Well settles next to Get_Lost on the wagon.
  106. [2014-01-01 14:49:22] * Get_Silly mutters to the ghost "they're going to kill us anyway, mh? since they heard we're working for crimson caravan...."
  107. [2014-01-01 14:50:35] <Kkat> 3Mare-Do-Well's eyes narrow. She clearly has no trust for the Enclave.
  108. [2014-01-01 14:50:40] * Golden_Dream sneers and tries to work up the nerve to get onto the wagon. It was slow going, and she moved the same grim resignation of a death row inmate stepping one length closer to meeting their fate.
  109. [2014-01-01 14:51:03] <Golden_Dream> (when she actually did get on.)
  110. [2014-01-01 14:51:42] * CopyCat joins Noble_Heart in front of the wagon. "Come on everypony. I think it's time we went somewhere warm." At Get_Silly's muttering, she tilts her head in confusion. {Crimson who?}
  111. [2014-01-01 14:52:11] * Get_Silly "well, we can only hope that deep inside, every pony is a pretty pony..."
  112. [2014-01-01 14:53:22] * Golden_Dream glances up over to Mare-Do-Well. "Hey. Ya'll don't really get t' complain. Ya'll're already dead." Her ear perked at CopyCat. Crimson Caravans. That mare what paid them to go on this canty little venture.
  113. [2014-01-01 14:54:07] * Golden_Dream looks at the wagon. "Ya'll're dead, and we're about t' be heading that way, too."
  114. [2014-01-01 14:55:00] * Shatara acks at the sight of a mare-do-well, and tries his best to act like he didn't see anything.
  115. [2014-01-01 14:56:30] * Get_Silly also, has something she wanted to ask the ghost. this seems like a good moment on the solaris clock "also... i noticed you sit by my side a lot... is there something i should know?"
  116. [2014-01-01 14:57:31] * Bookwright decides in a show of grace to hand off the handling of the pintle weapon to one of the on-board enclave ponies. "Now be careful Morning Glimmer, ol' faithful here pulls a bit to the left, so you'll need to compensate at about twenty yards by about half a yard."
  117. [2014-01-01 15:00:24] * CopyCat shrugs. The past was not her concern. "Is everypony ready?"
  118. [2014-01-01 15:02:02] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "We are prepared."
  119. [2014-01-01 15:02:39] * Golden_Dream /really/ looks like she doesn't want to do this.
  120. [2014-01-01 15:03:35] <Kkat> 3Mare-Do-Well blinks, eyes going wide a moment at Get_Lost's question. She shakes her head, her hat and cape fluttering in ghostly wind.
  121. [2014-01-01 15:04:02] * Golden_Dream felt like a caged animal. Grace can go out the window, she just wanted out of this fucked-up situation.
  122. [2014-01-01 15:04:26] <Kkat> 3At Snowdrift's command, Star Dust takes off, followed by the Enclave patrol leader, who motions for the wagon pullers to take off behind her.
  123. [2014-01-01 15:05:16] * Get_Silly nods "i see, sorry then... probably i misunderstood something... my fault"
  124. [2014-01-01 15:05:29] * Noble_Heart takes off, following with the enclave patrol. She wasn't terribly happy about this either, but she wasn't upset enough to risk killing somepony. Not yet, at least.
  125. [2014-01-01 15:06:51] * CopyCat seems almost disturbingly happy to go along with these ponies.
  126. [2014-01-01 15:18:21] * Get_Silly seems quite uncertain "if it has to do with me being a solaris... i'm sorry, i can't help it..."
  127. [2014-01-01 15:22:46] <Kkat> 3Mare-Do-Well blinks again and swiftly shakes her head.
  128. [2014-01-01 15:24:59] * Bookwright is just staring at Mare-Do-Well. Seeing ghosts is /weird./
  129. [2014-01-01 15:25:03] * CopyCat flies alongside Noble_Heart, pulling the wagon behind them. In front and to their sides are the enclave pegasi, yet CopyCat is smiling happily.
  130. [2014-01-01 15:25:06] * Get_Silly her ears flatten a bit. not being able to understand is one of the things the scientist suffers the most, but dashie is a friend, no pressure. just play cool... she can't see your eyes, it's all right, keep the ears up and act cool... still, ears are low
  131. [2014-01-01 15:25:34] * Noble_Heart was not smiling very happily, but she was none the less not complaining either.
  132. [2014-01-01 15:29:08] <Kkat> 3The journey through the night is cold and tense. After two hours of flight, a light can be seen in the darkness, flashing purple. At the sight of it, Snowdrift calls back. "Does anypony need to stop and rest? To warm or eat?"
  133. [2014-01-01 15:30:00] * Noble_Heart shudders slightly in the cold air, huffing a bit. "We are fine! You arrived as We were resting before this madness began."
  134. [2014-01-01 15:30:29] * Bookwright is huddled as far inside his cold weather gear as he can. "Mm fine. Le's jus' keep goin'."
  135. [2014-01-01 15:31:05] * Shatara peers curiously at the purple lights.
  136. [2014-01-01 15:32:28] * Get_Silly shakes her head "i'm fine"
  137. [2014-01-01 15:33:02] * CopyCat is curious. "What is this place?"
  138. [2014-01-01 15:33:03] <Kkat> 3As the group nears the light, they can make out the tall metal structure of an antenna, leading down to a small, concrete building with a spark generator out back. It appears to be an abandoned radio tower.
  139. [2014-01-01 15:34:51] * Bookwright can withstand the curiosity no longer. "Okay, I give in. I'm curious too."
  140. [2014-01-01 15:34:51] <Kkat> 3An alert flashes on the party's various Pipbucks.
  141. [2014-01-01 15:34:54] <Kkat> 3> Location Discovered: Final Echo Numbers Station
  142. [2014-01-01 15:35:06] * Golden_Dream blinks. Final Echo. Huh.
  143. [2014-01-01 15:35:44] * Shatara frowns at the rather ominous-sounding name.
  144. [2014-01-01 15:35:49] * CopyCat calls out to the enclave ponies, "You must have flown quite a way to get to us. Why do you patrol so far out in this weather?"
  145. [2014-01-01 15:37:06] * Bookwright looks over as he hears Golden_Dream's pipbuck bleep. "Eh? What's it say, Kid?"
  146. [2014-01-01 15:37:08] * Noble_Heart frowns and looks down at the radio tower. "Something in the SPP Tower matters to them. Whatever is at its peak, We would assume."

Snowdrift radios to Star Dust, who has gotten far enough ahead that she is no longer visible. "Star Dust, reel in. We're setting..." Star Dust is suddenly right in front of the Lieutenant Colonel. "y-Yes ma'am!"
  157. [2014-01-01 15:45:04] * Noble_Heart blinks in some surprise at the sudden re-arrival of the pegasus, helping to guide the wagon downwards. "Some breakfast would be most appreciated."
  158. [2014-01-01 15:46:28] <Kkat> 3Soon, the group has landed in front of the austere building. The building's only feature is a single, vault-style door under a faint white light . No windows. No decoration.
  159. [2014-01-01 15:46:56] * Bookwright gets out the notepad he'd scribbled the message on. "There, see? '15-7-14-26-26-18-24-8-26-23 9-25 8-21-9 10-9-6-24 3-19-9-12-8-19-14-4 21-25-19-19 13-6 18-10-24 11-11-13 23-5-5-8-22-18-3 23-8-18'. That's the message. Now let's find out what it means."
  160. [2014-01-01 15:47:58] * Bookwright steps off the wagon and stretches his legs. "Ooogh... That's much better." He walks carefully up to the building and starts examining the door.
  161. [2014-01-01 15:48:10] * Golden_Dream pokes Noble and nods. She didn't want to take her muzzle out of her coat, but she did want to let her know she had Noble covered.

  165. [2014-01-01 15:51:09] * Noble_Heart looks down to Golden Dream and smiles, pulling herself clear of the straps for the wagon. She looks up to the Enclave. "Is it that you maintain this place? It does not seem like a new establishment... Nor one easy to gain access to."
  166. [2014-01-01 15:53:58] * Bookwright dances a tiny dance of frustration. "Okay! Need a pipbuck or some power armor over here, there's no other way in."
  167. [2014-01-01 15:54:26] * CopyCat calls out, "Did you try knocking?"
  168. [2014-01-01 15:56:49] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift approaches the door. Before she gets there, the ghostly Mare-Do-Well flies through the door, disappearing inside.
  169. [2014-01-01 15:58:12] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift nickers, "You have to hack it to get in. I've done so before, twice. But each time the door is opened, the code changes; so next time, you have to hack it again."

  171. [2014-01-01 16:01:48] * Golden_Dream frowns as Mare-Do-Well flies through the damned door. She wished she could be behind a big iron door right now. "So get on it so we can eat and thaw out our water supply."
  172. [2014-01-01 16:01:50] * CopyCat humms a little tune. The words to which can only be heard by her friends over their mental lin.:{ Da-shie the friend-ly ghost, the friend-li-est ghost you know...}
  173. [2014-01-01 16:03:06] * Golden_Dream looks at CopyCat. "CopyCat? Ya'll, uh. Ya'll are a pretty glass-full kinda mare aren't you?"
  174. [2014-01-01 16:03:49] * Noble_Heart looks up at the top of the building. "It must be automated to still be running after so long. We would wonder what purpose it served..."
  175. [2014-01-01 16:05:32] * CopyCat nods at Golden_Dream. "Just look at all the new friends we could make."
  176. [2014-01-01 16:06:07] * Golden_Dream doesn't look amused. "Ya'll remember we're bein' held hostage, right?"
  177. [2014-01-01 16:07:47] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Hostages generally do not get choices on anything. We are respectfully fulfilling the wishes of those ponies who call this area home. So as to avoid unnecessary conflict."
  178. [2014-01-01 16:08:52] * CopyCat continues smiling. "That's no reason not to be friendly, though."
  179. [2014-01-01 16:11:08] * Golden_Dream grumbles and starts digging out pouches of dried fruit and veggies. "Yeah, well. Seein' as we ain't got no choice on what they're gonna do to us, would ya'll like carrots or plums?"

  184. [2014-01-01 16:13:13] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side as she looks down to Golden Dream. "If you tried to be friendly with them they might be less inclined to treat you badly." She nods her head to the pegasi with a smile.
  185. [2014-01-01 16:13:35] * Bookwright "It's a numbers station, Noble Heart. It's purpose was to communicate ciphered messages to agents in the field."
  186. [2014-01-01 16:14:09] * CopyCat claps her hooves together. "Oh, plums please." She turns to Snowdrift. "Could you get us in please? We don't have the thingies to plug into the thingy."
  187. [2014-01-01 16:14:33] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift nods to Bookwright. "Of course I do. But what is important is that it is safe shelter. We can stop here for an hour to rest, ear and warm."
  188. [2014-01-01 16:14:51] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side at Bookwright's words. "Yes. But why would you build it like this? Automated, fortified. This was not just a broadcast station. It was a bunker. Meant to survive. To function even when everything else was gone. Why?" She looked back to Golden Dream. "We would like some plums, if you have enough for Us."
  189. [2014-01-01 16:15:03] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift changes her stance, and looks at the door.
  190. [2014-01-01 16:16:12] * CopyCat is a conduit for the group's general desire to eat plums.
  191. [2014-01-01 16:16:44] * Bookwright "At a guess? I'd say it was designed to survive even all-out balefire war. It's still here, and it's obviously designed as a bolt hole of some kind. I wouldn't be surprised to see MoP paraphernalia inside."
  192. [2014-01-01 16:17:40] <Kkat> 3She frowns. "Actually..." she looks around. "Unless one of you would like the privilege, Major Bloodstreak will open the door. I need to check on something. Everyone else, stay close. Don't let each other out of your sight until safely inside."
  193. [2014-01-01 16:17:49] * Golden_Dream frowns. Well, shit. Four pouches. Seven mouths. She decided to give it, begrudgingly, to Copycat, Morning Glimmer, Star Dust, and Noble. Noble got Carrots. She then proceeded to tear open the MRE that she picked up from the corpse. Maybe the inside of that bag could be split.
  194. [2014-01-01 16:18:32] * Shatara fishes some meat out of his pack as he settles down with the others.
  195. [2014-01-01 16:19:21] * Noble_Heart blinks in some confusion at Snowdrift's request. That was slightly worrying. She looks down at the pouch and frowns as Golden Dream went for the MRE, offering back the pouch she had been passed. "You take this. We will be alright without for now."
  196. [2014-01-01 16:20:29] * Bookwright shakes his head. "There's no need for that, Noble Heart. I've got some spare stuff too. It's old, packaged, prewar stuff that tastes like dust, but it'll fill you up."
  197. [2014-01-01 16:20:54] <Kkat> 3The Enclave patrol leader spreads her wings and takes off, flying upwards into the dark

  206. [2014-01-01 16:25:15] * Golden_Dream looks at the carrot pouch. She didn't want plums anyway. She didn't complain when it came back her way, although she would complain later because now she was out of food. She munched on the dried carrots, passing a few discs of carrot Bookie's way.

  208. [2014-01-01 16:25:48] * Bookwright "Go ahead, tell me. It's not like I can do anything about it. We're you're 'guests' and all." He washes the taste of dust from his mouth with some water.
  209. [2014-01-01 16:25:53] * Noble_Heart took the other pre-war food to eat. It wasn't perhaps the best food, but it was better than nothing.
  210. [2014-01-01 16:26:25] * Shatara 's pipbuck ticktickticketys a little as he munches. Meh.
  211. [2014-01-01 16:26:26] * CopyCat sits beside Shatara while she waits and surreptitiously joins the griffin in watching mares.
  212. [2014-01-01 16:27:20] <Kkat> 3With a metallic rumble, the vault door unbolts on each side and slides into the floor.
  213. [2014-01-01 16:29:33] * Noble_Heart looks up towards the sky, then moves towards the door. Curious as to what would be within.
  214. [2014-01-01 16:29:52] <Kkat> 3The interior of the numbers station is small... crampted, even, for so many ponies. A single large room with a maneframe on one end and a control panel on the other. Metal plates cover the floor. Beyond that, there is a distinct lack of decoration, no company logos, Ministry colors or national emblems.

  216. [2014-01-01 16:31:36] * Bookwright strolls up to the maneframe and pokes at it. Maybe the cipher was stored on the maneframe?"
  217. [2014-01-01 16:32:05] <Kkat> 3The maneframe fails to poke back or otherwise respond to the poking.
  218. [2014-01-01 16:32:32] * Golden_Dream feels the maneframe to see if it had warmth.
  219. [2014-01-01 16:33:13] <Kkat> 3The maneframe is slightly warm. There are cables from it going into the floor.
  220. [2014-01-01 16:33:54] * Noble_Heart frowns and looks around at the floor, tapping her hooves on it curiously. There was clearly more to the facility than just this room.
  221. [2014-01-01 16:37:16] * Bookwright looks for a way to interact with the maneframe.
  222. [2014-01-01 16:38:41] <Kkat> 3The metal of the floor echoes metallically with Noble_Heart's hooftaps.
  223. [2014-01-01 16:38:45] * CopyCat steps inside, already feeling better for the shelter.
  224. [2014-01-01 16:39:35] <Kkat> 3The other pegasi also move inside. Major Tripwire sits in the doorway, keeping it from closing.
  225. [2014-01-01 16:40:12] * Noble_Heart frowns, moving around the edges of the room. Hunting for any sign of hidden doors or access panels. There was almost certainly more here than just this room.
  226. [2014-01-01 16:41:31] * CopyCat tilts her head at the grumpy Major Tripwire. "Does somepony always have to stay in the doorway?"
  227. [2014-01-01 16:47:31] <Kkat> 3Bookwright spots another port, similar to the one for hacking the door, on the wall not far from the Maneframe. While not actually hidden, it is small, low to the floor and colored the same as the rest of the wall, making it hard to spot.
  228. [2014-01-01 16:48:41] * Bookwright "Hey, Shatara? I wanna borrow your forelimb and the pipbuck attached to it. Can you please hook up to the maneframe here?" He indicates the access port.
  229. [2014-01-01 16:49:16] * Shatara snaps out of his mare-watching and turnsto Bookwright. "Uuh...sure..."
  230. [2014-01-01 16:49:28] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire responds, "I can't see a clear way to open this place from the inside."
  231. [2014-01-01 16:50:50] <Kkat> 3He adds, "Even if there is, the walls and door are thick. Snowdrift will be back soon. She shouldn't have to hack her way in while we are already in here. And we might not hear her knock."
  232. [2014-01-01 16:52:22] * Noble_Heart frowns. "It seems unlikely that anypony would design a building you couldn't leave without reason..."
  233. [2014-01-01 16:53:59] * CopyCat nods. "Good point. Although, Snowdrift also mentioned getting something to eat here..."
  234. [2014-01-01 16:59:39] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire chuckles. "What makes you think they wanted anyone to leave? Or expected anyone to get in?" He stares out at the night. "I think they built this place expecting to close it up once construction was done and leave it running until it fell apart."
  235. [2014-01-01 17:00:43] * Shatara plugs his handy-dandy-wrist-computer thing into the maneframe as requested.
  236. [2014-01-01 17:02:01] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Possible... But then why build it with any way in at all?" She tilted her head to one side. "The PipBuck access implies it was meant to be used by those serving the Equestrian military. They would be the ones with such access as your armor, after all."
  237. [2014-01-01 17:14:29] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire doesn't seem to have a response to that. Eventually, Morning Glimmer (who has stopped shivering quite so much now that she is in enclosed quarters with the body heat of many ponies) comments, "I always thought the place was built by griffins."
  238. [2014-01-01 17:15:04] <Kkat> 3Gust scoffs, "It doesn't look anything like a griffin building."
  239. [2014-01-01 17:15:55] <Kkat> 3Glimmer retorts, "It doesn't look anything like an anyone's building." Then admits, "Except for the ports."
  240. [2014-01-01 17:16:50] * Noble_Heart looks up at the roof and ponders. "It looks like a Stable-Tec building, to Us." She frowned. "Though We cannot imagine why they would build it here."
  241. [2014-01-01 17:18:34] * Bookwright "Hoo, okay. This is gonna be awkward, but I think I can do it. Shatara, what button sequence brings up the command console...?"
  242. [2014-01-01 17:19:28] * Shatara uuuhs and wriggles with the colt's awkward closeness, trying to push a few buttons around him.
  243. [2014-01-01 17:22:56] <Kkat> 3Bookwright hacks into the port. Once through the protective firewall of the access port, two options pop up on Shatara's PipBuck.

  246. [2014-01-01 17:26:35] * Bookwright "Oookay, I've two options here. Open external and open internal doors. They're both marked by the word 'warning' though, and that's hinking me out. So uh, be ready and stuff. I don't really know what this is gonna do. Besides open a door, I mean."

  248. [2014-01-01 17:27:08] * Noble_Heart frowns. "We would recommend waiting until everyone was inside before opening the internal door. It is possible that the doors are rigged to close the external when the internal is opened."

  250. [2014-01-01 17:33:42] <Kkat> 3At Noble_Heart's comment, Major Tripwire backs out of the doorway. The vault door immediately rises back into place, gears turning and bolts locking into place on each side.

  258. [2014-01-01 17:37:13] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Or something else is blocking it... But it is not clearly visible, so We would imagine it is somewhere in the floor."

  260. [2014-01-01 17:39:33] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart has been tapping the floor with her hoof. The metal plating on the floor has a ring to it suggesting a hollow space underneath.

  270. [2014-01-01 17:45:36] <Kkat> 3A grinding rumble and the squeal of metal on metal reverberate through the room as a third of the metal floor splits, swinging upwards, then sliding back. A stairwell is revealed, with a single purple light illuminating it.

A moment later, the gears on the vault door turn, the bolts slide back, and the heavy metal door slides into the floor. The options on Shatara's PipBuck change once more.
