[21:57]	Kirin	The news of transferring spreads far and wide in just a day. Soon everyone and their mother knows about the exchange, and that Draco got his crew member "forcefully taken away" by the famed Heylan group (thanks to Aya's flash news boradcast).
[21:58]	Kirin	Now that the big shots are starting to aggressively pursue skilled members, this also sparks the fire for the team that's seriously going for the tournament preparation to do the same.
[21:59]	Kirin	and now the next morning, it feels like half the school is preparing to go to war.
[22:00]	Kirin	The prelim is going to be a week after midterm exam, which is, in fact, dangerously close.
[22:01]	Kirin	The morning at five star dorm is like the usual, except that there's a LOT more surveillance and stealth observers.
[22:02]	Doktor_Q	VV is additionally equipped with a pair of glasses, courtesy of Hakase, supposedly to help studying. She's learned to read, at least, so there's hope.
[22:02]	Blue_	Heylan doesn't care, and goes about his routine as normal. His strength will carry his team to victory.
[22:04]	Owen	Alcelstis knows from experience that glasses totally do not help studying.  But she's not going to tell VV that; after all studying is all in the mind.  Whatever helps that golem be less stupid is fine with her.
[22:04]	Kirin	There are some shutter sounds near Heylan. The thing that difference is that this time it is a man, and he does not squee at you. He is, in fact, glaring at you like he wants to beat your ass.
[22:09]	Blue_	Heylan gives him a glance but doesn't really pay him any mind beyond that.
[22:10]	Owen	Alcelstis has been focusing much more on studying for her midterms than on the tournament, which has been feeling more and more like a pointless popularity contest to her than anything.  At least for the midterms she only has herself to blame if things go south.
[22:11]	Kirin	"Quite lively today outside, isn't it?" Dorm manager notes that as she walks past you by Alclestis.
[22:11]	Kirin	"I've heard. That was a bold move."
[22:16]	Kirin	she sits near Heylan, see if he need anything else.
[22:17]	Blue_	Heylan's eyebrow arches. "What was?" He asks.
[22:18]	Owen	The dragon girl currently occupies a windowless corner of the common room, looking over a grided battle map with a measuring stick.
[22:18]	Doktor_Q	VV is lying on the floor, scanning the pages off textbooks one after another. Probably literally scanning.
[22:19]	Kirin	"Taking Mirabilis for your team. She's a solid choice, I have to admit."
[22:20]	Blue_	"She approached me," He points out.
[22:21]	Owen	"Vee," Alcelstis says out loud in the golem's general direction.
[22:21]	Kirin	"Well, the end result is that she's in your team now. And the second year boy is missing his marksman spot."
[22:23]	Kirin	"That boy... he's rather..." Dorm manager frowns. "...hard to handle. Just be careful, all of you."
[22:24]	Kirin	"Say, anyone care for snacks? I have some pancake flours left."
[22:24]	Blue_	"I wasn't assigned these teammates because I shy away from things that are hard to handle." He casts a look at Vivi.
[22:26]	Kirin	"I see." She just smile, nodding.
[22:26]	Owen	Alcelstis tosses a crumpled piece of paper at VV's head.  "Vee!"
[22:27]	Kirin	Dorm manager disappears from your vision. Probably her weird sudden transportation thingy again.
[22:28]	Doktor_Q	She doesn't notice until it bounces off. Then she takes the little plugs out of her ear fins. "What?"
[22:30]	Owen	Alcy rolls her eyes.  "Kingdom of Light petty riflemen.  Standand-issue muskets smoothbore or rifled?"
[22:31]	Rukkileib	Iiwinasm finally emerges from her bedroom, stretching and yawning. "Mornin'" She greets, before glancing out the window. "It...is still morning, right?"
[22:32]	Blue_	"Barely, but yes," Heylan confirms, standing up. "I'm going to the training grounds if you need me."
[22:33]	Doktor_Q	VV stops to think, and immediately puts her hands over the vents. "Rifled barrels were added in the previous budget, but not all firearms have been replaced?" She volunteers, tentatively releasing them.
[22:36]	Owen	Alcy looks back to her spread of papers and scans the assignment parameters.  "Damn, doesn't specify...  Ahh fuck it, I'll just say I'm assuming smoothbore."
[22:36]	Doktor_Q	"How many points?" VV asks.
[22:40]	Owen	Alcelstis holds up three fingers with one hand as she goes back to measuring distances on her map with the other.
[22:40]	Doktor_Q	VV pouts and puts the plugs back in, resuming her scan.
[22:41]	Rukkileib	Iiwinasm goes to sit near Alcel. Just to be near her, is all, just to be near her.
[22:48]	Owen	Alcelstis doesn't give Iiwi any encouragement, but doesn't shoo her away either.  That's essentially how it's been for a while now.
[22:49]	Rukkileib	Iiwi reclines against Alcel's legs. "Doin' homework?"
[22:51]	Owen	"No," the dragon replies, scribbling away at what sure looks like homework.
[22:59]	Owen	"Are YOU doing homework?" Alcy asks Iiwi, acting like she doesn't much care about the girl leaning against her at the moment.
[23:08]	Rukkileib	"Yup." The horned girl says, conspicuously empty-handed.
[23:10]	Owen	"I'm so very glad I live in the Kingdom of Light, where people are always honest and noble," Alcelstis responds flatly, folding up her battle map and putting her various reference papers back into a folder.
[23:11]	Rukkileib	"Truly, this land is the land of the just and forthright." Iiwinasm agrees. "So different from home."
[23:12]	Doktor_Q	VV starts humming the national anthem as she studies, kicking her legs.
[23:14]	Owen	Alcelstis abruptly stands up and walks over to behind V.V., likely putting Iiwi rather off-balance.  The dragon girl adjusts her glasses, reading over the golem's shoulder.
[23:16]	Rukkileib	Iiwi remains reclined at an improbable angle, although her tiny tiny wings do flare out. "....Aw." She sits up, watching Alcel and VV. "Whatcha doing now?"
[23:18]	Doktor_Q	Current reading is classical literature, and exactly as impenetrably worded as you'd expect. Her eyes darts over each line once, then she turns a page.
[23:22]	Owen	"I'm doing HER homework," Alcelstis replies, keeping up fairly well with V.V.'s speed.
[23:23]	Kirin	Alclestis: you somehow have read this part before, and remembered the context behind this passage.
[23:28]	Rukkileib	Iiwinasm comes over to read over VV's shoulder over Alcel's shoulder. "What's it about?"
[23:29]	Owen	"Oh, this one," the dragon comments, remembering an assignment from her old school.  "Yeah, Dark Academy studies Plutus too.  Make sure you understand that it's an allegory for the dangers of unfettered capitalism."
[23:30]	Rukkileib	"What?" Iiwinasm seems offended. "It's clearly a morality tale about the dangers of chastity! What are you on?"
[23:31]	Doktor_Q	VV is blissfully unaware of them, now humming a much more energetic version of the anthem than most would remember. She's doing little 'ba bah bam' percussion under her breath, even.
[23:32]	Owen	Alcelstis sighs.  Plebes.  "Yes, it's ABOUT the negatives of chastity, but it's an ALLEGORY to capitalism.  That's what an allegory IS."
[23:35]	Owen	"The prostitute earns money by being sexual promiscuous, and the more promiscuous she is the more money she makes, a la capitalism.  Get it?"
[23:35]	Rukkileib	"Hmph." Iiwinasm huffs. "The primary school back home wasn't concerned about capitalism. Psychophagic economies are clearly superior anyway."
[23:37]	Doktor_Q	VV, having finished the book, puts it aside and pulls one on basic algebra.
[23:41]	Owen	"...How are you reading OVER my shoulder, short-stuff?" Alcelstis asks suddenly.
[23:43]	Rukkileib	Iiwinasm is very light! "...Will you let me climb down and get a headstart?"
[23:46]	Owen	"I don't like giving up advantages~" she replies, curing one arm behind her back and trapping Iiwi's legs.
[23:52]	Owen	"So what classes are YOU planning on failing?" Alcelstis asks Iiwi, repositioning her weight to stand better with a girl on her shoulder.
[23:54]	Rukkileib	"Aheheheh..." Iiwi squirms a little bit. "I'm totally going to pass most of them!" She says. "Except maybe the ones with theology in them. I mean, I'm ABLE to enter the chapel and all, but..." She grimaces.
[23:56]	Owen	"Then why'd the hell you take it?" she asks accusingly.  "There were plenty of other free electives open; don't tell me there weren't, I've seen your class schedule."
[23:58]	Owen	"Also, I'm suprised you've got enough demon in you for that to matter.  Kinda defeats the purpose of being a mutt, don't it?"
[23:58]	Rukkileib	"I was expecting more cute nuns..." She grumbles. "At least a priestess or two. But whenever that old man starts talking, I just... ugh." She grimaces. "I want to repent." She sounds disgusted.
[23:59]	Doktor_Q	Algebra done. It took longer for her to finish that then the book. Now it's... cooking? Some kind of recipe book.
[00:00]	Rukkileib	"It's not JUST the demon." She explains. "There's also the devil, and the incubus and succubus. And my daemonic blood isn't happy with it either. It brings out the seraphic blood, you know?"
[00:02]	Kirin	"My, you have problem with that" Iiwi, a voice from behind you. it's miss Dorm Manager. with Pancakes.
[00:03]	Kirin	"Actually, I could help."
[00:05]	Rukkileib	"Not a problem... exactly..." She's a little startled by the sudden interruption, and clamps onto Alcel a bit, until she regains her sense of balance. "How does she do that?" She whispers into Alcel's ear.
[00:06]	Owen	Alcel smirks.  "Do you REALLY want to know?  I know, you know~"
[00:07]	Rukkileib	"...Hnnn." Iiwi's clearly not entirely sure if she does.
[00:07]	Kirin	"Anyway, I do have home recipe that would make the feeling goes away."
[00:08]	Owen	Alcelstis grabs a pancake and starts nomming.
[00:08]	Kirin	Pancakes without topping can be okay... but it deserves better.
[00:10]	Rukkileib	Iiwi peers around Alcel's head. "I can't reach..." She informs the dragon. "...Pass me one? Please?"
[00:13]	Owen	Alcelstis grabs another pancake and holds it in front of Iiwi, just out of reach.
[00:15]	Rukkileib	"...Mou." Iiwi pouts.
[00:17]	Owen	"What was that?  I couldn't hear you~" the dragon-girl asks, wiggling the pancake temptingly.
[00:20]	Rukkileib	"You're mean." She complains, without any heat. "Please?"
[00:21]	Kirin	H: If she is around, you can't see her anyway due to all the crowd gathering around the training grounds.
[00:22]	Owen	Alcelstis shrugs and moves the pancake slowly towards Iiwi's mouth.  "Well, I guess since you said please..."
[00:23]	Owen	Alcy then portals the hand holding to pancake to her own mouth instead.  Nom~
[00:23]	Rukkileib	"Ahhh~" Iiwi reaches out with her mouth. "...Awwww...."
[00:25]	Owen	Alcelstis then gives her the rest of the pancake.  "Food for thought; please doesn't always work~"
[00:26]	Kirin	Dorm manager just smiles happily in the back, enjoying the friendly banter.
[00:28]	Rukkileib	"That's when they call it rape!" Iiwinasm agrees, eating it happily.
[00:34]	Owen	"You are a sad, strange little girl," Alcy responds, eating her pancake and wandering over to the window to see if the stalkers are still there.
[00:41]	Owen	"Vee." Alcelstis call out again, still oblivious to the earbuds in the golem's ears.
[00:41]	Kirin	Alcy : Aya, the reporter, is there. Shes taking a picture hanging her head from the roof outside the window.
[00:45]	Owen	"You spelled my last name wrong, you bitch!" Alcy yells at the paparatzi girl.  "It's Harcourtinæ, with an Ash!"
[00:47]	Owen	""Do you even know what an Ash IS?!"
[00:47]	Kirin	Alcy: Aya answers back before running away, "tell that to the proofreader!"
[00:47]	Owen	"Give my that slut's name and I WILL!"
[00:49]	Kirin	Alcy: She already fled! as expect from the fastest in Ge-- in the academy.
[00:50]	Owen	The dragon scowls.  "Iiwi, who the fuck is the proofreader for the school paper?"
[00:52]	Doktor_Q	VV realizes she was called, and removes the buds again.
[00:55]	Owen	"Oh, Vee, finally, who the fuck is the proofreader for the school paper?"
[00:55]	Owen	"And why the fuck are you so deaf?"
[00:55]	Doktor_Q	"Proofreader?"
[00:56]	Doktor_Q	VV offers an earbud.
[00:59]	Owen	Alcelstis pinches it between her fingers and squints.  "What?"
[01:01]	Doktor_Q	Alcel: It's making noise! It's a tiny speaker playing a slightly sped up recording of class, autotuned.
[01:05]	Owen	Alcelstis is legitimately impressed.  "Well damn, where'd you get this?"
[01:06]	Rukkileib	"Her..." Iiwi wiggles her fingers. "Golem brain thing?"
[01:06]	Kirin	"C-can I help? I know that thorns from Draco's vines are very hard to spot... having someone doing it for you is better."
[01:06]	Doktor_Q	"Hakase made it so I don't fail my exams," she replies.
[01:07]	Owen	"It's called a core processing unit, but that's besides the point," Alcy comments, holding the speaker up to her eyeglasses as she tries to use them like a magnifying glass.
[01:09]	Owen	"And what, I'm not good enough to help you pass your midterms?"
[01:10]	Doktor_Q	"Hakase said this was a... 'more reliable gamble'"
[01:10]	Doktor_Q	She took a moment to remember the phrase.
[01:11]	Rukkileib	"I'd help you~" Iiwi says. "Studying together at night, one thing leads to another, of course..." She trails off, with a giggle.
[01:12]	Doktor_Q	"If you can provide assistance," VV agrees.
[01:12]	Owen	Alcelstis considers the phrase, shakes her head and hands the earbud back.  "One of these days I am going to meet Hakase, and I am going to have words."
[01:13]	Kirin	Alcy : Somewhere, a fox-professor sneesez.
[01:13]	Doktor_Q	"Do you often not have words?" She asks, curiously.
[01:15]	Owen	Alcelstis throws V.V.s words back at V.V.s face.  "Do you THINK that I often don't have words?"
[01:17]	Owen	"Come on, Vee.  You're better than that."
[01:20]	Doktor_Q	"Not from current observation. Investigation is a virtue."


Meanwhile, at the training grounds...

[22:35]	Kirin	There's no classes today, so you are free to go whenever. Training grounds are PACKED, however.
[22:37]	Blue_	Heylan seeks out a wooden dummy to practice his swordplay form on.
[22:38]	Kirin	If you are still going to the training grounds, there are a few. If you are not, there's one in the dorm's backyard.
[22:38]	Blue_	He is still going to the grounds.
[22:40]	Kirin	As heylan proceeds to the clearings where many people are practicing their arts, you see that some are doing solo, some duo, some with a team. One thing that's noticeable is the glare. Everyone now glares at you. Some with admiration like usual, and some with determination, or even loathe.
[22:41]	Kirin	There are free wood dummy to test things on.
[22:44]	Blue_	Heylan doesn't pay the glares any mind.
[22:48]	Kirin	The wooden dummy does not glare. it only provide comfort of silence and warm hugs.
[22:49]	Blue_	It mostly provides a target for Heylan to practice on.
[22:51]	Kirin	The practice was not interrupted in any way. You feel you have more confidence. (+1fw with task related to swordsplay)
[22:53]	Kirin	There's a group of girls walking past you by. They seems to be in a hurry, and is carrying something long. it looks familiar, somehow.

[22:54]	Blue_	Heylan gives the long thing a look but doesn't pursue.

[23:03]	Kirin	Some of the guys wants to practice with you. Some are your colleagues, some are just first year kid that wants to have a go.
[23:04]	Blue_	Heylan humors them, giving them occasional pointers.
[23:05]	Kirin	A quality time were had by all!

[23:05]	Kirin	"Hey, sempai. Could you spare with me for a bit?"
[23:06]	Kirin	It's Draco.
[23:07]	Blue_	"I don't see why not," Heylan calmly replies. "If you plan on beating me, you'll need all the practice you can get."
[23:07]	Kirin	The crowd murmurs, clearing up spaces for the two.
[23:08]	Kirin	"Follow me to the main practice area."
[23:08]	Kirin	He gestures, and the students that's been using it scurries off.
[23:10]	Blue_	"Ah, thinking you'll put on a show, then?" Heylan smirks, following.
[23:11]	Kirin	"Execution show does attract people, yes." He faces you. "Especially when it's a downfall of a hero."
[23:13]	Kirin	"Game ends when one side yield or unable to continue combat. Weapons with no edge OK. Combat rules. Yes or no?"
[23:15]	Blue_	"Oh, should I get serious for once?" Heylan asks. "I'd hate to disappoint everyone by getting executed." He places his hand to his chest, channeling the power of light into himself. (Casting a spell: bless.)
[23:18]	Kirin	"...you still have to verbally accept the rules. We can't start otherwise."
[23:18]	Blue_	A faint white aura surrounds Heylan, as it always does when he starts to get serious. But he's not done yet. He places two fingers on his practice weapon, and slowly runs it along its length, infusing it with a white glow. (casting a spell: sunlight blade)
[23:20]	Blue_	"You say 'side,' not 'duelist.' Do you lack the confidence in yourself to face me alone?" Heylan smirks. "I accept.
[23:20]	Kirin	Draco's face twitches a little.
[23:21]	Kirin	"Enough talk! Have at you!"
[23:22]	Kirin	He dives at you with impressive speed, his large training claymore, a bit bigger than his usual ones and has no edge, is up front acting like a faux-shield.
[23:23]	Blue_	Heylan decides to end this quickly. He rushes in with his shield raised and his training sword ready.

[23:24]	Blue_	Not hack and slash? Heylan was rushing in to bonk the shit out of him.

[23:36]	Blue_	Heylan doesn't let up in the slightest. He wants to end this quickly with overwhelming power. He rains down countless blows towards Draco, using both his training weapon and the edge of his shield. "I am the one anointed by God."

[23:46]	Kirin	They traded blows again. It's not a fair trade of any stretch imaginable. Draco fly a few meters and land unceremoniously on the floor with a thud.
[23:46]	Kirin	You take 5dmg, presoak, and you feel something pricking your side.
[23:47]	Kirin	Draco, however, after he gets up with the help of his sword, looks like he just got rammed by an armored cyclops.
[23:48]	Blue_	Heylan glances down at the prick in his side, unsurprised. He'd been waiting for that.
[23:48]	Kirin	He is, however, neither yielding nor down.
[23:49]	Kirin	Sure enough. A low profile needle saturated with some sort of liquid.
[23:49]	Kirin	You feel a bad migraine shooting up your head.
[23:51]	Blue_	There's a brief flash of light where the wound is. He stands tall, unaffected. (Spending 1 valor to completely negate a single blow.)
[23:51]	Kirin	Draco continues. He clench his fist which glows with brownish light, and a wall of stone quickly grows to confine him!
[23:52]	Kirin	"I know... you are not the kind... who will just do a normal swordsplay duel...!"
[23:52]	Kirin	"Now everyone knows how petty you are! Now I AM THE RIGHTEOUS!"
[23:55]	Kirin	The stonewall encases him and block him from your vision Heylan.
[23:58]	Blue_	Heylan simply waits to see if he's retreating.
[23:59]	Kirin	The very same wall is forming around you with an alarmingly fast speed, trying to trap you inside!
[23:59]	Kirin	Heylan you have around a second or two to react.
[00:02]	Blue_	Well, that's simple enough. Heylan strikes the wall with all his god-given strength to open a way through.
[00:03]	Kirin	Heylan, Defy Danger STR!

[00:05]	Kirin	The wall of dirt cannot withstand your power, of course, but the trick is the thing inside it! It's vines! Lots of them! All of them with white prickling needles from earlier growing from it!
[00:05]	Kirin	You are now free from the encasing wall, but is entangled in prickly vines!
[00:09]	Kirin	Heylan - more vines shoots out from the ground!
[00:11]	Blue_	That's definitely not good! Heylan attempts to use his sword to cut his way out. "As I thought. Draco knows he's too weak to face me alone!" He says it loud enough that he's sure Draco heard it.
[00:12]	Kirin	However, you do not feel outnumbered.
[00:13]	Kirin	Heylan, Defy Danger STR -2 as the entangling and the strength-sapping makes it hard to move!
[00:16]	Blue_	Well, that sounds like a perfect time to spend the last of his Valor! There's a flash of light as divine strength pours into Heylan.
[00:17]	Blue_	Blue_ rolled 9 [6+3]
[00:17]	Kirin	You break free from everything entangling you with divine strength!
[00:18]	Kirin	but not the needles that already on you like a pincushion. It's thin and almost impossible to spot in a quick sweep. You are going to have to sit down and work on it.
[00:18]	Kirin	You STILL not see Draco.
[00:18]	Kirin	That, and your strength is sapping.
[00:19]	Blue_	Heylan goes into a battle-ready stance. "So, are you as much of a coward as he is, or do you have the courage to face me head-on?" His eyes scan the area. Is that girl from before there? The gunner girl that abandoned Draco?
[00:20]	Kirin	roll defy danger WIS.
[00:23]	Blue_	Crap. No good, then. And still no response from Draco. He's definitely out cold. "Then if you won't come out, I'll come to you." He holds his sword aloft, catching the glint of sunlight off it! (Cast a spell: guidance!)

[00:28]	Kirin	The light shines at the ground.
[00:28]	Kirin	it shines for the briefest of time, and then disappears.
[00:29]	Blue_	Well, that's the best chance he has! He thrusts his sword towards that point in the ground, using his divine strength to try to pierce deep enough to strike the target.

[00:34]	Kirin	The other party seems to know the impending strike, so Draco leaps out of the ground! However, you also anticipate that to some degree and whack the sword right on Draco's rib. You hear a satisfying crunch.
[00:35]	Blue_	"You never had a chance, Draco," Heylan says to him calmly, through ragged breaths. "You do not fight a mortal man of flesh and bone. You fight God's will, acting through a mortal man."
[00:35]	Kirin	With his last gasp, he raise his fist up high.
[00:36]	Kirin	"A man... takes what he want... with his OWN strength..."
[00:37]	Kirin	Suddenly, stone pillars grows up from everywhere and jam itself at Heylan like a bad assortment of Jenga.
[00:38]	Kirin	Draco then fell. He fainted sitting upright.
[00:39]	Blue_	Knowing his sword arm is beginning to fail, Heylan brings up his shield to block and endure.
[00:40]	Kirin	It's just too many! You block a few, but most of it finds a way to smack you through and along with your protective gear! take 10 damage, pre-soak.
[00:41]	Blue_	Heylan remains standing. He's winded, but not defeated.
[00:42]	Kirin	one of the student yells. "Oh damn, it's the one-time!"

[00:48]	Blue_	Heylan lets out a small involuntary breath as someone slams into his wounds.

[01:09]	Kirin	she then stands there being very awkward and unable to continue the conversation.

[01:10]	Blue_	"Did something happen to your weapon?" He asks her in between blows.
[01:11]	Kirin	"It's, um, lost? How do I put it..."
[01:12]	Kirin	Mirabilis hides her hand behind her, looking down on the ground. "it's just... gone. I wasn't looking and it's gone."
[01:14]	Blue_	"Your weapon was... a custom-finish Mosin Nagant, wasn't it?" He asks, thinking back to what he saw earlier.

[01:17]	Blue_	Heylan sighs. "I see. Give me a moment to have my wounds tended to, then we can go... retrieve it." Heylan heads back over to the time mage.
[01:18]	Kirin	H: She's still at the training area, reversing things to its original state. She looks at you quizzically as you approach.

[01:19]	Blue_	"Just in a hurry. You're quicker to patch wounds like this than I would be."
[01:20]	Kirin	She silently work on it. Some of the wound mends, and the prickly thorns removes itself from you, piling neatly in the time mage's hands.

[01:20]	Blue_	"Thank you." And with that, Heylan heads out with Mira.
[01:21]	Kirin	The time mage then balances herself by fastforwarding the process of walking to toss the thorn into trash can.
