Et bien ce fut d'abord un jeu, créé par Level-5, sorti sur Nintendo DS en 2008 au Japon. On incarne un jeune joueur, Mark Evans, gardien de foot, qui rêve de participer au tournoi Football Frontier, très prestigieux, qui inclut les équipes de foot de collèges différents. Mais, son équipe ne compte que 7 joueurs, et il va devoir en recruter d'autres car le tournoi approche. Dans la saison 2, la terre est en danger, seul le foot peux la protéger! Les Raimon doivent faire face à l'Académie Alius, qui ne sont autre que des extraterrestres. Dans la saison 3, l'équipe d'Inazuma Japon va essayer de devenir la meilleure équipe du monde en remportant le FFI (Football Frontier International). Ce jeu est le résultat du jeu de rôle avec l'univers du foot, et connut un grand succès, tout d'abord au Japon, puis en France, où il n'arriva qu'en 2011. Une série animée et un manga furent ensuite créés, pendant que d'autres jeux de la série arrivaient : Inazuma Eleven 2: Tempête de Feu et Tempête de Glace; Inazuma Eleven 3 (jeu) (les trois versions sur DS), Inazuma Eleven Strikers (sur Wii) et Inazuma Eleven Futur (sur téléphone), qui ne fût pas réalisé au Japon. D'autres jeux, Inazuma Eleven GO version Shine et version Dark sur 3DS, arrivèrent fin 2011 au Japon. Dans le jeu, on incarnera un nouveau personnage, Arion Sherwind. Ce garçon est le nouveau protagoniste d'une toute nouvelle série: Inazuma Eleven GO. Durant la saison 1, Arion et les Raimon vont essayer de battre d'autres équipes de football dans le tournoi de la Route du Sacre, un tournoi pour déterminer la meilleure équipe équipe du Japon mais aussi le nouvel empereur. Ils devront faire face aux manigances du Cinquième Secteur, organisation maléfique qui désire contrôler le football. La saison 2 de Inazuma Eleven GO, appelée "Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone" raconte comment Arion, accompagné d'un garçon venu du futur, Fei Lune, va stopper les envahisseurs du futur, El Dorado. Ceux-ci voyagent dans le temps pour effacer le football.
