  1. Buy a Switch? Buy a Wii U? Buy nothing?
  2.
  3. Switch:
  4. + portable gaming - doesn't need TV or computer.
  5. + Splatoon 2. Checks off a box on my wishlist labeled "Splatoon or Splatoon 2."
  6. - $300, and I'm not even sure if that's a bundle that includes Splatoon 2.
  7. - multiplayer requires paid subscription.
  8. - only currently want one game. I'll consider Metroid Prime 4 but it's not a top priority as far as why I'd get the system.
  9. - not sure any personal data on it is transferable if I get a new system.
  10. + piss off PC elitists.
  11.
  12. Wii U:
  13. + Splatoon. Checks off a box on my wishlist labeled "Splatoon or Splatoon 2."
  14. + Super Mario 3D World.
  15. + can play Wii games. I don't have a Wii.
  16. + free multiplayer.
  17. - $210, for both the system ($180) and Splatoon ($30).
  18. + if I don't buy it now, it won't be available for much longer.
  19. - requires a TV, I think. I don't have good access to a TV. There's a TV here but I might get flak for it if I use it regularly for gaming.
  20. - only currently want two games. I'll consider Metroid Prime 3 (yes I know it's a Wii game), MarioKart, Smash, and Mario Maker, but they're not top priorities as far as why I'd get the system.
  21. - unpopular system; dunno when Nintendo will stop supporting servers for Splatoon.
  22. - not sure any personal data on it is transferable if I get a new system.
  23. + piss off PC elitists.
  24.
  25. Neither:
  26. + saves $180 to $300. (I'm likely to spend $10 or less during the present GOG/Humble Store/Steam sales.)
  27. + doesn't add to my already-huge backlog of games.
  28. + doesn't add to physical clutter.
  29. - I'll still be playing TF2 when I want my Splatoon fix.
  30. - doesn't piss off PC elitists.
