  1. name: He Who Fights Monsters Tutelage
  2. cost:none
  3. type:reflexive
  4. duration:one scene
  5. mins:martial arts 5 essence 4
  6. prereqs:nowhere to hide
  7.
  8. description:
  9. Most who face the Monster are splattered with disappointing ease by a single punch. Fewer still are those marked yet thrown back like juvenile fish to mature into suitable prey. Only the rarest and most worthy of adversaries must be rent limb from limb, struggling and biting to the last ...but the Infernal Monster dreams of such opportunities and wakes salivating.
  10.
  11. This charm's prerequisite is 'Nowhere to Hide' and only functions on those marked by it.
  12. If the martial artist takes a dramatic action lasting one minute in which she spars with a single individual, or reflexively declares herself to be doing so during actual combat, both combatants treat that minute as a day of training time for the purposes of purchasing dots of Martial Arts, Infernal Monster-related Martial Arts specialties (such as Fierce Blows or Cruel Strikes) or Infernal Monster Style's Charms.
  13. -This acceleration is not a Training effect and does not allow purchase of traits the combatant’s player lacks the banked experience points to afford. It is the student or opponent who decides how to apply the banked training time, not the Infernal teacher.
  14. -Students incapable of learning Celestial arts may instead train a thematically related Terrestrial Martial-art such as First Pulse and likely Terrible Ascent Driven Beast, as well as any Infernal Terrestrial Art. Depending on the manner of the tutelage, even something like Flame and Stone Style might qualify. If they cannot learn those either then they are limited to specialties and marital arts dots.
  15. -Solar Akuma using this charm's training function in potentially lethal combat are explicitly able to 'teach' their foe Charms from Golden Janissary Style, who may chose to learn this regardless of whether they could learn celestial martial arts and would therefore normally be limited to infernal monster charms.
  16.
  17. As a secondary benefit, the Monster who knows this Charm may always stunt to enhance her unarmed Martial Arts attacks and parries with the same descriptions as a social attack, provided that her spoken words scornfully mock her opponent’s pitiful flailing (aka the fighting techniques of opponents using a supernatural martial art) while offering jeering yet solid advice to improve them. Thus, comments by players speaking in character may provide a one-die stunt, et cetera.
  18. Social and conventional physical criteria do not stack as such, although a combination of visual and literal poetry may certainly net a higher stunt award at Storyteller discretion.
