At the top of the show, The Power Trip is celebrating the control they now have over the WWF. Mick Foley comes down in a Santa costume carrying a shoebox with TITLE SHOT FUND written on it.

"You know, if this was any other night, I'd be down here talking about how I want my title back, how I want a match, how I this, how I that, but that's not what tonight is about. Tonight is about giving, and goodwill towards men. So I took up a little collection backstage, because there's one man the Power Trip has wronged that hasn't had an honest chance at getting back his dignity. I passed this shoebox around the locker room, and every man and woman back there put a little bit in. But it still wasn't enough. Hell, it wasn't even close to enough. So I steeled myself, I worked up my dander, and I walked right up to the meanest, most miserly Scrooge in the WWF.

Well, Austin, it seems Ted DiBiase's heart grew three sizes last night, because he pulled out his wallet and made up the difference, plus a little bit extra for his favorite Ringmaster. So let me present, ladies and gentlemen, Steve Austin's opponent, in tonight's main event, FOR THE WWF TITLE, THE SKUNKROCKER!"

Skunkrocker came out and cut a promo about how Pillman cheating him out of his honest hard-won chance at the WWF title has been eating him up for months, and tonight he's thankful beyond words for the generosity of Mick Foley, Ted DiBiase, and every kind-hearted man and woman backstage, because win or lose, tonight he can hold his head up high and say he's an honest to god WWF Title contender!
