Tsukihime 15th Anniversary Guide

Tsukihime chronicles the story and life of a teen-aged boy named Shiki Tohno. As a young boy, Shiki suffered a life-threatening injury. As a result of this injury, Shiki became able to see "life lines" on objects and people; if Shiki cuts these lines, the person or object that they belong to will be die or be destroyed. Soon after discovering this power, he is given a special pair of glasses by a mysterious woman. While wearing these glasses, Shiki cannot see the lines, and can thus live life as normal. Later, Shiki discovers that he can also see "points" on objects and people; these act as more immediate and powerful versions of the "lines." Eventually, it is revealed that Shiki is not merely killing a person or destroying an object when he cuts its lines or pokes out its points, but is instead removing the meaning of his victim's existence.

The game plot begins during Shiki's high school days. After years away from the Tohno household, which he was banished from after his injury, he moves back home following the death of the head of the Tohno family, Shiki's father. Shiki's sister, Akiha, assumes the responsibility of being the new head, and decides to let Shiki come back. As the story progresses, Shiki gradually discovers his mysterious past, and becomes implicated into strange adventures.

One year after the events of Tsukihime, Shiki Tohno is a victim of an accident. After this accident, Shiki awakens into a strange dream wherein he repeats the same day over and over. There are infinitely many endings to the day, but it always begins anew after each day. Eventually, Shiki discovers that he must find the creator of the dream if he wishes to escape.

Tsukihime is a visual novel by Type-Moon with a route format. There are five routes in the game, each focused on one of five heroines and split into the Near Side and Far Side scenarios. The two Near Side routes are focused on the supernatural incidents occurring in Misaki town, while the three Far Side routes focus on the dark secrets of the Tohno family.

Melty Blood's story follows one year after Tsukihime. Tohno Shiki hears of a new series of murders in Misaki similar to the one's that took place in Tsukihime. Whilst searching for the murderer he meets Sion Eltnam Atlasia who initiates a fight with him, attempting to capture him. The story moves through a series of fights. Depending on the outcome of the fight the story will branch in one of two ways. Ultimately this corresponds to the ending of the game.
