- dried out the poor merian, an' 'e knew tha' ta survive, 'e would need ta find the oasis before the
- lack o' water caused his death. The furrikin knew the heat would 'arm 'is friend, an' so offered ta
- scout ahead, with one o' their empty waterskins, hopefully ta bring back water."
- You say, "They marched inta the desert, an' the furrikin quickly left the young merian behind. The
- merian struggled fer minutes, an' then an hour, an' then several hours... wit nae sign from the
- furrikin. Finally, 'is strength spent, 'e collpased on the side o' a dune, closed 'is eyes, an'
- waited fer death ta claim 'im'"
- You say, "As 'e came close ta seein' the Fates, 'e was awoken by the feelin' o' cold water splashin'
- 'im in the face. 'is friend had returned, an' was pourin' a whole skin o' water o'er the merian.
- "Why did ye stop?" the furrikin asked. "I felt as though I couldna go further, an' felt it better ta
- die in peace then strugglin" replied the merian, slightly ashamed. "Look o'er the ridge" the
- furrikin replied."
- You say, "As 'e did, the merian saw a lush oasis, covered in the most beautiful flowers 'e 'ad e'er
- seen. He cried out in joy an' ran down ta the oasis, an' both 'e an' 'is friend lived ta bring home
- their own beautiful flowers."
