ok so
i dont think princes family was actually like?? torturing people, or anything like that... i think if anything its the fact that his family werent interested in the human rights of their citizens?? like they were treated unfairly, given lower wage and no care etc, and there was a huge imbalance of power in the economy in the middle-class vs. the rich... i think that prince got his "i hate fighting" thing from his parents maybe?? maybe prontera isnt big on fighting and thats why the areas around them are so weak (mt mj and south plains)
i think prince chose to leave with the others in a spur of the moment decision where he was pissed off abt something, not some sort of build up... bc he still defends his parentage and the government system that he left behind, or at least some aspects of it. i mean i think he grew up without seeing the imbalance bc he mostly stayed in the palace - and prontera is really bright and beautiful and happy looking so he never suspected anything wrong - and he honestly just never chose to find out bc he trusted his parents and genuinely had no interest in researching it further, until he was exposed to it suddenly and he got mad and left
which is the reason why he will still get mad at people for calling his father or his parents or prontera bad because he still wants to believe that theres not THAT much wrong, because hes seen the good parts of the government and has been barely exposed to the bad
he still doubts going on this "adventure" because it goes against what he believes in (he dislikes fighting and rebelling) but he keeps pushing himself because of his friends and because hes convinced himself theyre going to become legends one day
