About crypto exchanges

Updated Jan 11, 2018

  1. Sign up on trading site and verify account. Site may request a picture of your driver's license, but this often is too blurry if taken with a webcam. So scan both sides of your DL and save the images as separate images.
  2. Buy some coin. Might take a few days.
  3. Install wallet software on PC.
  4. Using code, transfer coin to PC wallet software. Coin will be deleted from your exchange account and sent to your PC wallet.

Notes

  1. You can use Cash to buy crypto: more likely to get scammed.
  2. You can use Credit cards: Instant, but higher fees.
  3. Bank transfer: can take up to 11 days, lower fees. US ACH transfers are free and take 5-6 days, wire transfers are quicker but have at least $25 fee. 1/11/18 Currently multiple exchanges are having long delays with wire transfers. I've used ACH about 8 times and had no problems, but it does take 5-6 days to complete.
