My mom is a liberal (not a compliment coming from me just FYI) who does her best. Ostensibly she's accepting and believes in equality, although her convictions on the matter of LGBTQ liberation seem to firmly reside in her "political opinions" schema rather than existing as a genuine criticism of how the current political economy drives the working class to divide themselves over matters of sexuality and gender. As for my father, well, he's a fundamentalist Christian. Luckily he's a compassionate enough person that his actual convictions on the matter are also rather moderate, and he's generally capable of at least keeping his lips tight on the matter, assuming his blood alcohol content hasn't reached a certain threshold.
