  1. Ignore the size, most people probably only need to read the first question.
  2.
  3. Q1. I tested out the game but on the character select screen every box is
  4. empty. What gives?
  5.
  6. A.While the download link comes with the characters, you still need to apply
  7. the mods to their designated character slots. Upon running the game, click
  8. settings in the upper right, then go to the customization tab
  9. in the new window. You'll see a bunch of character names with drop down menus,
  10. click each one and give every character their proper character mod.
  11. Oshare Bones and Onion Pixy share a slot, so if you don't have Oshare
  12. put Onion there instead. If you can't find Draco, remember that her full name
  13. is Draco Centauros. If your screen is too small her name might appear as
  14. "...auros" or something on the dropdown menu. This should take about 30 seconds.
  15.
  16. Q2.The music stays the same every round, how do I change it?
  17.
  18. A.There's two ways to change the battle music, manually or automatically.
  19.
  20. To do it manually, while in an online match there will be a chatbox to the left.
  21. If you click the "settings" tab on that chat box, then uncheck and recheck the
  22. "play music" option, the music will stop, and when it starts up again a new song
  23. is randomly selected to play. There's plenty of songs, so feel free to try it often.
  24.
  25. To do it automatically, go to the settings menu in the main game window,
  26. not the match window. Go to the music tab there, and there will be many options
  27. to change how the music plays. You can also rearrange all the sound files.
  28. "Advance at round start" changes the song whenever a new round begins, the
  29. other options are probably self explanatory.
  30.
  31. Q3. I prefer the older Puyo Puyo Music, where can I get it?
  32.
  33. A.http://www.mediafire.com/download/j5j0l92a5vdqldv/Puyo+Puyo+1%2B2+Mega+Drive.rar
  34. http://www.mediafire.com/download/ae47namdn7if3p0/Puyo+Puyo+3+Saturn.rar
  35.
  36. This is the music from Puyo Puyo 1-3, as looping ogg files. I'd reccomend not using
  37. them in conjuction with the newer sound files. The volume difference between the newer music
  38. and older music is very noticeable, so if you use both at once it'll either be too quiet or
  39. too loud whenever a song changes. The music folder is under the "user" folder. Make sure to put at
  40. least one song in the fever folder.

  43.
  44. This is a dump of every sound file, but be aware only some actually play properly in VS2. Others have
  45. to be changed to a supported file type in audacity or a similar program.
  46.
  47. Q4. What about the music from Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche?
  48.
  49. A. Most of the good songs from MBM were taken directly from Puyo Puyo 1, the instrumentation of a few
  50. songs was changed slightly but it's almost identical. Just download that folder instead.

  53.
  54. Q5. Why do Oshare Bones and Onion Pixy share a slot? Why is only Onion Pixy
  55. included in the default character pack and the character pack in the mega links?
  56.
  57. A. PPVS2 is based off of the game Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary, a game Oshare isn't in. The creator
  58. decided in one update that he was going to replace Onion Pixy's dropset with Oshare's since Oshare
  59. is more popular in the West and his dropset is very similar to Onion Pixy's. Onion Pixy is still kept
  60. as a default character, and most people that play still just use him, since he's from the same game as
  61. the others, but the slot is technically meant to be shared with Oshare. If you want a fan made Oshare
  62. you can download it here:

  65. http://www.mediafire.com/download/lp0q172337860ql/OSB_Animation.zip
  66.
  67. Place it in characters folder, which is under the user folder.
  68. Do be aware that since Oshare's last appearence was in 15 and not 20, his sound files and art are
  69. of a lower quality. Although, if you really really like Oshare you might not mind.
  70. Also, mods are only client-side, so to most people you play against they'll see you as Onion Pixy.
  71.
  72. Q6.Are there differences between the characters?
  73.
  74. A. In Tsu mode (aka classic mode) all the characters function identically to one another.
  75. In fever mode, there are differences between the characters. All of them have different dropsets, which means
  76. that the order in which they get their pieces varies from character to character. The colors are always randomized,
  77. but the shapes your pieces come in vary. Also, every character's chaining power
  78. is different. Chaining power is the score multipler you get when doing chains. Some characters do better in normal mode than
  79. others, while some fare better in fever. The differences are generally pretty small, and not very noticeable in casual play.

  87.
  88. Q7.How do I get better at the game?
  89.
  90. A.1. Read guides
  91. 2.Watch matches between people who are better than you.
  92. 3. Practice what you've learned
