  1. >"Sushi! Sushi! Sushi! Sushi!"
  2. >Sucy couldn't help but groggily wake up at the verbal assault
  3. >turning to her right, she was once again greeted by the familiar wide smile of her unwanted ball and chain
  4. >"Good Mowning!"
  5. >Akko seemed to be filled with boundless energy, just like every day
  6. >every single day
  7. >she weakly attempted to smile back, hoping to unlatch her from her position
  8. >much to Sucy's delight, Lotte called for her, and the japanese girl shouted a "Coming!" before dashing off
  9. >the witch decided that trying to go back to sleep wasn't worth it, and started to swiftly get herself dressed
  10. >it had been a little over a month since she had joined Luna Nova
  11. >and a little over a month since Lotte had signed the both of them up for the Special Ed Assistance Program
  12. >Sucy wasn't phased by it at first, despite how she never wanted to go along with it
  13. >she had dealt with far worse then a slow kid back at home, so what's there to fear?
  14. >the fool she was
  15. >the rubber band ball of a girl was nothing but a chore to deal with
  16. >she could only barely dress and wash herself, and just making sure she didn't get hopelessly lost in the halls ended up being part of a laundry list of duties
  17. >the Finnish girl was simply too nice for her own good, and for Sucy's own good as well
  18. >she would be lying to herself if she said that the little leech didn't grown on her
  19. >but by god was she a hassle
  20. >"Sushi! Come oooon, it's time for bweakfast!"
  21. >shuffling over to the source of the faraway shouting, Sucy couldn't help but sigh
  22. >if this is what being a parent was like, then she's getting her tubes tied as soon as she can
  23.
  24.
  25.
  26. >"Sushi! Sushi!"
  27. >sitting down at the table where Akko and Lotte were eating breakfast, she quickly began to wonder what she should grab herself
  28. >"What do you want this time, Akko." she replied, only just barely managing to hide her grogginess
  29. >"Wotte says that if I do weally good on my next test then she'wl buy me a new bwoom!"
  30. >absolutely fucking wonderful
  31. >the reason they keep breaking is because Akko can't be trusted with them
  32. >so why is "Wotte" wasting more money buying her shit she'll most likely wreck
  33. >not to mention that she's broken a bone every time she's tried to fly; a fact that Akko was happy to remind them of whenever she had a cast on
  34. >she glared at the Finn from across the table
  35. >"That's wonderful." she hissed out from between her teeth
  36. >ignoring the hostility in her voice, Lotte herself spoke up
  37. >"Yep! It's going to be custom made to absorb shock, so if she crashes while she's trying to fly it won't snap!"
  38. >while that put one of her worries to rest, there was still the problem of keeping miss special ed alive
  39. >deciding not to press the issue at the moment, she got up and started walking towards the collection of various breakfast items Luna Nova set out every morning
  40. >just another day in the life of Sucy, she supposed
  41.
  42.
  43.
  44. >"Sushi! Sushi! Wook at what I fownd!"
  45. >shifting slightly from her seat at her lunch table, Sucy tried to put on her best faux smile
  46. >Lotte said that she needs to be more friendly with Akko, but she didn't see any reason why
  47. >the little bugger did nothing but poke in things she shouldn't
  48. >"What is it, Akko"? she replied, trying her best not to show the irritation she was feeling
  49. >"I fownd it! I went and fownd it all by mysewf!"
  50. >Sucy's eyes went wide
  51. >in the slow girl's hands was a squirming, thick, very toxic worm
  52. >Sucy could barely even speak as she grabbed it off of Akko and desperately put a nearby metal trashcan over it
  53. >running over to the unfortunate young woman who brought the worm in, she quickly inspected in her hands
  54. >they were ruined; welts had begun to accumulate on them, and they were beginning to turn purple
  55. >"W-Why did you think it was a good idea to carry that with your bare hands!? Why would you bring it inside!?" she shouted, sick with worry
  56. >Akko could only give her a blank stare as the alchemist continued to ramble, but she was clearly feeling a bit distressed from her tone
  57. >and oddly enough, didn't even seem to notice her wounds
  58. >Sucy noticed the tears beginning to form in the special ed student's eyes, and sighed
  59. >"Lets... just get you to the infirmary."
  60. >"Where did you even get that thing, anyway?"
  61. >looking back at the witch with a smile on her face Akko replied:
  62. >"I was sitting out in the fowest wooking under wocks, and I saw it! I bwought it back 'cause I thought you would wike it!"
  63. >the special girl was surprisingly on point; if she managed to grab it before it was confiscated she could make any number of potions with it
  64. >Sucy gave Akko a smile, and a genuine one at that
  65. >"Thanks for trying, I guess. Maybe I'll bring you along with me next time I'm looking for ingredients if you want to help me with that kind of stuff."
  66. >Akko's smile went even wider
  67. >"Yay!"
  68. >leading Akko to the infirmary, she knew that it was going to be an eventful day
  69.
  70.
  71.
  72. >Sucy was exhausted
  73. >her teachers seemed to be especially wary of her for the past few days; putting her in a bad position to expereiment
  74. >which was odd, since she had only eaten one kitten in front of the class, and only because she didn't think they were looking
  75. >just one, it wasn't that big of a deal
  76. >but despite the drag, she pressed on and the day was finally over
  77. >laying comfortably in her bed, she began to open a tome she snagged off the library's forbidden section
  78. >or at least she tried to
  79. >"Look at this, Sushi!"
  80. >it was Akko, apparently desiring to show her another thing she picked up off of some filthy floor
  81. >after the worm incident earlier that week, she was almost scared to look
  82. >but when she did, she was pleasantly suprised at what she saw
  83. >"it's a dwawing I made of me and my two bestest fweinds in the world!"
  84. >in Akko's hands was a piece of paper scribbled upon with multicolored marker
  85. >taking it from Akko's hands as she inspected it, she couldn't help but smile
  86. >upon it lie crude illustrations of her, Akko, and Lotte; with some other acquaintances in the distance next to a simple interpretation of the Luna Nova building
  87. >all of them were smiling widely, even the tiny Hannah and Barbera, which surprised Sucy considering how often they mocked and teased the poor girl
  88. >"It looks great, Akko!" Sucy said, taking on the tone of a doting mother
  89. >"I'm gonna show Wotte this as soon as I can!" the disabled girl beamed, taking the illustration back before quickly running off
  90. >Sucy told her to be careful as she sprinted, reopening her book as she began to quietly read
  91. >despite how hard it could be, she couldn't help but feel a bit glad that she knew Akko
  92. >she was a boundless source of innocence in her life, and Sucy couldn't deny how nice it felt to get a genuine loving hug or to be told how amazing you are by someone who looks up to you
  93. >she was a nice kid, and she could at least appreciate that
