So after a debacle on IRC, it’s been felt that due to the differences between game soundtracks over time, it's best to split the contest to address these differences. Therefore, excavator will be managing the [b]modern[/b] soundtrack collection while I will handle the [b]classic[/b] portion. Like the previous thread, nominations will be open from now until [b]April 3rd, 2014[/b]- approximately a month. Before you start nominating songs, read the following rules:

[b][u][size=16]Nomination Rules:[/size][/u][/b]
[b][size=14]*: ONLY SONGS FROM CONSOLES MADE BEFORE OR DURING 1999 CAN BE SUBMITTED. This excludes the Dreamcast due to its odd situation. Only PC games made 1999 or before can be submitted as well.[/size][/b]
*: Songs from games that are made after the 1999 mark but are classic inspired are not included. (ex: Cave Story, Fez, Mutant Mudds)
1. You may not nominate more than [b]five[/b] songs total. NOTE: The number of songs voted in the modern contest does not affect the number of songs that can be voted in this contest.
2. You may only nominate songs that actually play in a video game, or were made to play in a video game. Fan made remixes and compositions are unacceptable. However, unused songs included in video game OSTs, as well as songs from video games that were never released (such as Heaven Variant) are fine.
3. You may not nominate a song that someone else has already nominated. In addition, you may also not nominate a song that is a remix/alternate version of a song that was already nominated.
4. You must include a link to each song that you are nominating for people to easily stream and listen to in-browser. Youtube is preferred.
5. You may not nominate multiple songs from the same game.
6. You may not nominate more than [b]two[/b] songs from the same series or franchise.
7. You may not nominate a song from a game if there are already [b]three[/b] songs from that game that have been nominated by other people. This is to help promote more variety. Here is a current list of all the games that have reached their limit for song nominations, if any:
