The Mata

The Mata are a subrace of humanity they are known for their cat like ears and tails, they’re religious nature and they’re natural ability for the disciplines of Engineering and Information gathering, they are native to the planet of Rajet as this was the home for the “Three matriarchs” the goddesses of their religion

The Mata were originally created as splicing genes into unborn children was fashionable at the time in there original universe After the event created them many strict laws and guidelines replaced on genetic treatments.

The reason for this is that many of the traits that separate the Mata from Humans are extremely dominate genetically, this means it would be next to impossible to breed those traits out of them and that if a Mata and human where to mate there is a 90% chance that each child would be a Mata not a human.

This is also a problem as certain problems tied to those genetic traits have been notoriously hard to treat, such as heart problems tied to the increased muscle density in the Mata’s legs compared to a human, for reasons such as this Mata’s live shorter life spans on average to humans only lasting 80-90 years.
