Traits:
Valorous Strides is a reliable, brave, protective pony. After his parents died he took to taking care of his little brother Meek Steps, forcing him to grow up quickly. They lived in a run down apartment in lower Manehatten, where he delivered newspapers while his brother went to school [he himself dropped out to support his brother Meek]. One day while walking home from school with his brother, he encountered a burly pegasus mugger. Valorous lunged at the thief, allowing Meek Steps to get away, but the mugger had a knife. Valorous bled out in the pavement. Also it started raining.

Meek Steps is a shy school kid, very short and cowardly. His hobbies are typical overexcited kid things like toys, candy, and kickball. When his brother died, he found a mysterious amulet in a corner store that Meek could have sworn didn't exist the day before. To his surprise it glowed at his touch, and the elderly creepy shopkeeper said he was destined to have it, giving it to him for free.

The Amulet was, through some impossible miracle, a phylactery for Valorous. Using the magic of the amulet, the brothers could communicate, and through that same magic the younger brother could take the form of the older brother.

Valorous then joined the military, hoping to use the money to continue supporting his young brother. Unless otherwise stated they are always in the form of the older brother, with few knowing the younger one even exists.
