Background:

I originally had a blacked out Stage 2 Audi A1 on air suspension that you can see in the photos. This car was probably the best car I had owned up until that point, I had a massive amount of plans to take it to the next level but unfortunately I was involved in a pretty serious car crash which left the car written off and me looking for a new project…

I decided that I loved the A1 so much that I would stay within the Audi brand but just upgrade to something that was a quicker and that I could have a bit more fun with. After test driving both the S3 saloon and the S1 I couldn’t really bring myself to leave my hatchback roots and so bought a brand new S1 that they had in stock at the time. It had a massive amount of extras more than I would have specced myself but I’m glad that I pushed myself that little bit extra.

About The Car

Since owning the car I have installed fully adjustable AirRex air suspension and AirRex digital management, had the car remapped by Motech Performance to around 310bhp and upgraded the wheels and tyres to something that would compliment the handling of the car as well as some small bodywork touches. I want to create a car that I can park up and slam but also one that I can drive hard and use it as it was originally intended.

There are a lot of air suspension systems on the market that are all about getting the car to drop the lowest without a thought of how they handle or perform in day to day driving. AirRex goes against the grain a little with their mentality, they have created a performance suspension system that improves upon original air suspension design, optimising and improving the handling of the car. With double bellowed bags all round, adjustable dampers, corner weighting, professional tracking and the lightweight OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels, the car handles like a dream.
