  1. STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL GREENTEXT: BIRDS IN THEIR BIG NEST AGREE

  12. It was a fair but windy day — and the wind was even stronger, high on top of the tall water tower.
  13. A bafflingly huge bird nest laid on the very top of the structure: from inside it, a very worried brunette with a ponytail peeked at Echo Creek below.
  14. Then, a male voice called from somewhere:
  15. “Hey, Sabrina: are you alright?!”
  16. ‘Marco?!’ the girl muttered to herself, before turning around to find the boy.
  17. “Hang in there” the boy in the red hoodie recommended, climbing the last rungs on the side of the tower.
  18. Then, he walked very slowly, and very CAREFULLY up to the nest; “Don’t worry, Sabrina: I’ll get you out of there before you know it!”
  19. But the cheerleader was far from confident.
  20. Alarmed, she whispered:
  21. ‘For the love of goodness, Marco: stay away! SHE’S getting back any second, now!’
  22. “Who’s ‘she’?!” the boy asked.
  23. …But before Sabrina could give an answer, a huge, ominous shadow glided across the water tower.
  24. Marco turned his eyes to the sky — too late, though, as the giant, yellow bird of prey momentarily swooped on top of him.
  25. “EEEEEK!” Marco shrilled on top of his lungs, while the massive beak quickly took hold of him.
  26. Then, the beast proceeded to violently shake him, and then slam him down on the metallic surface of tank, repeatedly.
  27. *BONK!*
  28. *BONK!*
  29. *BONK!* went Marco’s head — while Sabrina couldn’t help but stare in horror.
  30. …But then, the girl suddenly had an idea.
  31. “Chirp chirp chirp!” Sabrina started to loudly cry, jolting up and down, and opening her mouth wide.
  32. While still holding the pained boy in its beak, the yellow monster turned to look at her — its eyes blinking inquisitively.
  33. “Chirp chirp chirp!” Sabrina insisted. Then, she tried being more explicit:
  34. “…I am HUNGRY, mom!” she declared, pointing at her mouth, and then at Marco: “Gimme, gimme! Chirp! Chirp!”
  35. In a single skip, the colossal raptor climbed on the side of the nest: it gave one last shook at Marco, before dropping him beside Sabrina.
  36. “Ooouch!” the boy lamented, reduced in a pile of twisted and twitching limbs.
  37. Sabrina quickly checked if Marco was OK; then, she grabbed one of his arms, pulled it up to her mouth, and pretended to take a bite.
  38. “Hmmm, tasty!” she clumsily acted, chewing and rubbing her belly.
  39. She turned up to the giant bird:
  40. “That’s my favorite: thank you mom!”
  41. Momma-bird stood gawking at her ‘chick’ for a few more seconds, before uttering a loud shriek, and then vigorously taking off.
  42. “Are you alright, Marco?!” Sabrina then asked, concerned.
  43. “…Did you get the license number of that truck?!” the boy could only reply, before losing consciousness.

  49. Biting the duct tape with his teeth, Marco cut off one last strip from the roll.
  50. ‘Do you need more?’ he asked, under his breath.
  51. ‘No, I think this will be more than enough’ was the hushed reply of Sabrina.
  52. The cheerleader sticked some yellow feathers and plumes to the tape, and then glued it all to the back of Marco’s hoodie.
  53. ‘There!’ she said, looking at the now feathered boy: ‘Now momma-bird will take you for my little bro!’
  54. Marco wasn’t so convinced.
  55. ‘Let’s hope she buys that…’
  56. ‘Well, my yellow cheerleader uniform was enough to fool her in the first place, so…’
  57. Marco sighed.
  58. ‘I’m sorry for what happened, Sabrina! You know how it is: Star’s magic can be a little bit… messy.’
  59. The girl shrugged.
  60. ‘Could’ve gone worse.’ Indeed it could: in fact, apart from a few scratches, ruffled hair, and some vertigo, that was one of the mildest accidents she’s had to endure in quite a long time.
  61. The boy in the hoodie shook his head:
  62. ‘I wish Star was here to dispel that feathered thug: too bad, Ludo and his gang had the brilliant idea of going overtime, today!’
  63. ‘Will Star be alright, without your help?!’
  64. ‘Don’t worry, Sabrina: she’s used to deal with them — Star could kick their butts while blindfolded!’
  65. The girl wondered if Marco was actually that confident, of if that was just a ruse, to keep her from being anxious.
  66. ‘Anyway, Marco, we need a new rescue plan: ‘momma’ always keeps an eye on the nest.’
  67. The boy turned his nose up to the sky.
  68. ‘Where THE HECK is her?!’ he asked, puzzled.
  69. ‘I dunno’ Sabrina answered; ‘Every time I tried to sneak away, she immediately caught me, and put me back inside the nest.’
  70. With a pondering expression, Marco commented.
  71. ‘Then, we’ll have to come up with something…’

  77. “Meeeow” uttered a very scared cat, nestled on Marco’s lap.
  78. The boy gave the little house pet a couple gentle strokes; then, he turned to the other occupant of the giant nest.
  79. “My dinner is a cat, Sabrina” he stoically said; “What did momma-bird bring to you?”
  80. “…RACCOON, RACCOOOON!” the girl cried in a panic — while the feral creature she held was snarling and waving its claws at her; “AAAYYEEEEE!”
  81. “L- let’s trade!” the boy suggested, rushing to help her.
  82. But the giant yellow bird had very clear ideas of WHO had to eat WHAT: with surprising dexterity, the beak of the monster once again placed the little cat in front of Marco, and the rabid raccoon in Sabrina’s arms.
  83. …This time, though, the survival instinct of the procyonid suggested it to lay low — and NOT to upset the fifteen foot tall yellow hawk.
  84. Sabrina looked at her flea-riddled live meal, and theatrically commented:
  85. “…Y- yum yummm!”
  86. As soon as the flying monster left the water tower, the two animals hastily escaped the nest, running away for their lives.
  87. Bringing some disinfectant out of his fanny-pack, Marco began to take care of his friend’s latest wounds.
  88. “I’m sorry, Sabrina” he said, “but I really have no idea how to get us out this situation…”
  89. “D- don’t worry, M- Marco” she replied, with her eyes welling up with tears.
  90. The boy carefully treated the numerous scratches on Sabrina’s hands and arms.
  91. Then, the boy gasped, as he also noticed one on the girl’s cheek.
  92. “Oh, no” he commented, before cleaning up the wound; “I hope you won’t be left with any scars!”
  93. The unlucky cheerleader meekly left the boy taking care of her.
  94. ‘T- thank you, Marco’ she quietly sobbed.
  95. ‘Don’t even mention it’ he replied, speaking softly: ‘Instead of helping you getting to safety, I’ve just got myself trapped here as well!’
  96. Sabrina tentatively smiled.
  97. ‘Still, I feel safer, now that you’re here with me…’
  98. Their quiet conversation was suddenly interrupted by the loud sound of sirens approaching.
  99. Marco poked his head out of the nest.
  100. “There they come — AGAIN!…” he commented, shaking his head in disconcert.
  101. A firetruck and a police car were rapidly approaching the water tower; but before they got anywhere near the base, the giant yellow monster fiercely dived to the assault.
  102. Marco’s eyes narrowed.
  103. “Maybe we can take advantage of the distraction!” he exclaimed: “Sabrina, take my hand!”
  104. While loud crashing noises thundered from down low, the two of them snuck out of the nest, and quickly began descending the ladder to safety.
  105. Unfortunately for them, though, Echo Creek’s emergency forces were quite too quickly repelled…
  106. “EEEK!” Sabrina screamed, as ‘momma-bird’ grabbed her in its claws, and easily pulled her off the ladder.
  107. “No, SABRINA!” the boy called: he stretched his arm, and grabbed the friend by the ankle.
  108. …But in doing so, Marco was torn off the rungs as well.
  109. With a few, powerful beatings of its wings, the giant bird easily gained altitude.
  110. “Marco!” Sabrina called out.
  111. The boy was hanging for dear life: unfortunately, though, Sabrina’s loose sock didn’t offer much grip: soon the sock slipped all the way down, and the boy could only hold to the shoe.
  112. “Oh f—…!” Marco uttered, one instant before Sabrina’s sock and shoe came off.
  113. The entirety of the boy’s short life flashed in front of his eyes — while once more Sabrina called out his name:
  114. “MARCOOOO!” she screamed in anguish.
  115. …But less than a second later, Marco was in the safe grasp of strong and firm talons.
  116. “…T- thank you, momma-bird” the boy commented, before huffing in relief.

  122. After only one other scrupulous attempt at a rescue, the cops wisely decided simply to evacuate the surroundings of the water tower, and then cordoning the area.
  123. Marco wondered how much longer they’d have to wait, for the intervention of the US army — but after all, maybe not even the marines could’ve been trusted with dealing with that relentless juggernaut of a canary…!
  124. ‘Star,’ he lamented, under his breath, ‘where THE HECK are you?!
  125. Then — not without difficulty — Marco somewhat extricated himself from under the weight of the colossal feathered belly.
  126. ‘Sabrina!’ he surreptitiously called out: ‘Where are you?’
  127. A muffled response guided the boy up to the cheerleader.
  128. After crawling up to her, the boy asked:
  129. ‘Are you OK, Sabrina?’
  130. ‘I’m…’ The girl spit pieces of yellow plume out of her mouth: ‘…I’m fine Marco. Maybe just a little too hot.’
  131. ‘Yep: it’s stupidly hot, under this freakish monster-bird!’
  132. Almost as in response, the giant hawk clucked; then, it adjusted on top of its two ‘chicks’.
  133. ‘Nnnnrrrgh!’ the boy grunted, while once more poking his head out in the open air.
  134. The sun had set about half a hour earlier; and now, the sky was slowly but steadily getting darker and darker…
  135. ‘We can’t wait for Star any longer’ Marco grunted; ‘We gotta get outta here!’
  136. Currently, Sabrina’s feet — one of which naked — were the only part of her free from under the belly of the giant bird.
  137. ‘Mphhhmphhhfhh!’ the girl replied, possibly in an affirmative tone.

  143. While providing concealment for the two teens, the darkness also made Marco and Sabrina’s descent from the water tower even more scary than it already was.
  144. ‘There’s nothing to worry, Sabrina’ the boy whispered to his friend, in a soothing tone: ‘Just move at a calm and steady pace.’
  145. In order to keep the situation under control, Marco was climbing down first; on a couple occasions, the boy accidentally glimpsed under Sabrina’s short skirt — and even if he immediately diverted his eyes like a gentleman, that fleeting sight almost momentarily distracted his mind from the perilous task at hand…
  146. After what felt like an eternity, the two of them finally ended up standing on the ground again.
  147. “Yeees!” Sabrina cheered, before jumping in Marco’s arms.
  148. …Then, the two of them immediately froze in place: where they being too noisy? Could the bird wake up, and come looking for them?
  149. Marco and Sabrina slowly looked up to the water tower, whose black silhouette stood out from the night sky.
  150. After a few, tense moments, a mildly reassured Marco stared at the girl in front of him, and whispered:
  151. ‘Alright, Sabrina: the coast looks clear. Now, let’s move!’
  152. Less than a minute later, Marco’s bike was rolling down the street, safely avoiding the scattered remains of the law enforcement vehicles.
  153. “Yes, mom…” the boy confirmed on his phone: “In five minutes, more or less. …Oh, that’s a nice idea: now I ask!”
  154. Marco temporarily took the phone away from his mouth, before questioning the girl who hanged behind him on the bike:
  155. “Sabrina, would you like to have dinner at my place?”
  156. “Why not?” the girl answered, smiling; “Thanks, Marco.”
  157. Sabrina was feeling particularly giddy: she could’ve sworn it wasn’t only because of their successful escape — but whatever the actual reason were, she couldn’t really put a finger on it…
  158. While confirming the last details to his mother, Marco’s eyes spotted the police cordon in the distance.
  159. “Alright,” he said, after hanging up; “I can safely say we’re finally out of harm’s way, Sabrina!”
  160. But that attestation of confidence was due an extremely harsh reality check…
  161. Suddenly, spotlights shone from above, and quickly encircled the teens on the bike.
  162. Marco rolled his eyes.
  163. “Oh, NOW, they think of using helicopters!” the boy commented.
  164. “M- Marco…” uttered Sabrina: “That doesn’t SOUND like a helicopter!”
  165. The two teens raised their eyes to the dark sky: there, two round sources of light intensely beamed.
  166. …And Sabrina was right, there was no sound of helicopter rotors — but rather, the flapping of large wings.
  167. Nearly instantaneously, momma-bird swooped on the escaping teens, throwing them off the bike.
  168. Marco was sent rolling on the rough asphalt; after a couple seconds of pain and disorientation, the boy forcibly shook off the stupor, and quickly got back on his feet.
  169. “Sabrina?!” he called out, trying to locate his friend; the nearby street light flickered, inducing Marco once again to look up.
  170. “Oh, SHOOT!” he gasped, a single instant before turning back, and starting to run.
  171. But the bird with the shining eyes again dived to grab him: this time, Marco leaped to the side at the very last moment — and a ripping sound filled the air.
  172. After rolling on the ground and regaining his footing, Marco checked at his hoodie, and gasped: the giant talons had nearly cut the sweater in half.
  173. “Holy cannoli!” he uttered.
  174. Then, the twin spotlights and more flapping of wings, signaled to Marco that the giant bird was now hovering right above him.
  175. “No, you won’t take me away AGAIN!” the boy defiantly shouted.
  176. …But — not more than a handful seconds later — Marco soon found himself grasping desperately to a fire hydrant, using the full strength of his arms, legs, teeth, and sheer force of will, in order not to be picked by the implacable angry bird.
  177. Then, a rock was tossed against the yellow hawk’s head: the beast shrieked with rage, before turning to the attacker.
  178. “No, ‘momma’!” Sabrina screamed, trying to drown out the bird’s shrieks: “I won’t take ANY MORE of your crap! Leave him ALONE!”
  179. Then, the lanky girl picked up a scrap of Marco’s broken bike, and then threw it toward the giant bird.
  180. “Screw off!” Sabrina insisted, waving her arms, and yelling at the top of her lungs: “Shoo, do you hear me?! SHOO!”
  181. The girl tossed pretty much everything she could find on the ground; and even though the front wheel of Marco’s destroyed vehicle missed its target by a mile, nonetheless momma-bird looked scorned and flustered.
  182. The supernatural creature flapped its massive wings, before disappearing in the night.
  183. It took Marco nearly a minute, before his limbs could finally relax, thus letting go of the hydrant; after standing up and counting his extremities, the boy turned to his friend.
  184. “Sabrina, are you alright?”
  185. The blast of air caused by the massive wings had sent Sabrina on the ground: she looked now clearly shaken and battered — most likely in shock.
  186. “M- Marco” she muttered with a trembly voice, while sitting up: “I’m afraid I just tossed away your phone!”
  187. The boy rushed to the girl: he gave Sabrina a brief checkup, before helping her standing up.
  188. Then, Marco couldn’t help but sighing in relief, and hugging her tight.
  189. ‘Sabrina,’ he murmured, concerned: ‘please, be more careful!’
  190. For a few, precious moments, the girl basked in Marco’s warm embrace; and soon, in spite of how heavy and aching her arms felt, she reciprocated it.
  191. “…Funny” she commented, smiling; “When I hold on to you, I don’t feel the pain anymore.”
