  2. LAMIEST : This look is honestly great from the shoulders down. I love the shoes sooo much. The dress is all right, but not really the most inspired, and I would’ve liked a much more classic silhouette with this look. The bob doesn’t exactly work fantastically for this look, and the overall look is a little too plain.
  3. GUYNOID : This is a step up from last week. Very clean design and all, but waaay too basic, especially since you didn't choose to make your submissions out of actual playing cards. Either make a more interesting conceptual choice or have a stronger design.

  6. L : I really like this look, even though it might not be the most inspired in the bunch. The purple is a bit of an odd choice for the bottom; I think a brown would’ve been a better option. Also, this look was ASKING for some gloves.
  7. G : This is definitely a technical upgrade from last week: the rendering is a lot cleaner so good job on that. I would reccomend experimenting with the editing interface Imgur has when you upload a piece and try turning up the brightness and contrast a smidge -- just until your background doesn't look so grey. Otherwise, I like your themeing but the actual design is just very plain and boring for me. I would really love to see some risk-taking in your fashion.

  10. L : I’m really not as head over heels with this look as I thought I would be! I think the choice to switch to red lights was a little odd, but the silhouette is enjoyable, as is the color.
  11. G : Good job here! While you didn't choose to make your submission out of the actual materials, it's clear you designed them with their dynamics in mind and it feels very realistic in that sense. I just wish there was a little more coherency between the pentagram harness and the rest of the design -- it seems a little out of place since everything else doesn't have any occult/satanic references.

  14. L : I could definitely argue that this is one of the artistically strongest pieces of the week, so I give you compliments there. The problem I have with it comes from the fact it kind of misses the mark for the challenge. I really would’ve loved this look in maybe a black for a “freestyle”-esque look, but this doesn’t really work for this challenge.
  15. G : Doesn't really communicate the material that well, I wouldn't have gotten it without the explanation. The choice itself to use that material was kind of unwise, not only because we've already seen it on the show but you just missed the opportunity to do something really creative. Do some research into color theory because I'm noticing a lot of your palettes are consistently poor.

  18. L :I enjoy this look, and it’s something no one else did! The blue accents are a little off-beat, and the choice to go with pure white contacts was a bit odd. But I am satisfied enough to Toot it.
  19. G : Very wise choice of material. Pretty simple, but creative enough to pass.

  22. L : This look doesn’t really feel as runway-ready as the rest. If I were to change it, I would probably remove the shirt underneath, remove the leggings under the skirt and change the TV to a black bob with the TV as a fascinator. Then, introduce the colors as makeup on the full face. I really feel like this look could’ve been super badass, but the giant TV head kinda ruins it.
  23. G : Great job with the concept and palette choices. My only points of contention are that the wrap leggings and strappy roman-style boots (dont know what the name for these is) are kind of inconsistant with the "weight" of the rest of the piece. I see what you were going for, but with CRTs and the VHS purse you think of more clunky/chunky style accessories. I think the unsuccessfulness of those elements was in part to how they were rendered. I would reccomend you look into honing your figure drawing/anatomy if you want to make it past a certain point in this competition.

  26. L : I have nothing to say, really. I was GAGGED when I saw this. This is very high fashion, and the idea of a dress made of smashed pottery is so cool. The color scheme is lovely too, and I really have no complaints.
  27. G : Just like your first week, you are showcasing how important choosing your concept is. Great color palette, great paring of the print on the plateware and the pain wax, etc. Personally, I wouldn't have gone for that hair just because it confounds the texture scheme going on, but w/e it obviously looks good anyways.

  30. L : The only issue with this look, besides how genius it is, I have a bit of an issue visualizing it as a look worn in really life. But it works expertly for an art piece, and it’s so clever. Your anatomy is top notch too.
  31. G : I am wayyy into every element of this. I love how you used two different types of materials but they were tied together in concept, and that hair and eyemakeup is SO GOOD.

  34. L : I love how sleek and high fashion this is. I question the choice of having the boob exposed. I think I would’ve prefered a symmetrical design with a boob window insead.
  35. G : tooting this just because that ultra-stylized silhouette is too legit to quit. It's more reminiscient of an actual fashion illustration than what a lot of other competitors are doing. The concept is a little simple but it's cleanly executed at least. Read the comment I wrote to /u/OnyxEnvy about editing your photo, b/c the quality of the picture is detracting a lot..

  38. L : Thinking about this stomping a runway in motion makes me so pleased. The more and more I look at the individual patterns, the symmetry of the leggings, the more and more I realize it’s the more brilliant, inspired, and exciting version of what Derrik Barry was trying to do in the Book Ball.
  39. G : Really nice job on this! Well thought out & executed design and bonus points for using a physical material. I like how this communicates a story that doesn't need to be explained in the caption. predicting McDonalds-kei to hit harajuku anytime now.

  42. L : I think a paper clip gown in motion in real life would be sooo gag worthy. But that headpiece is unforgivable, and the top isn’t detailed enough to pull of the sleeves.
  43. G : Drawing is just not developed enough, It feels like i'm looking at something incomplete. Props on using a physical material, but it's not integrated well enough on the headpiece.

  46. L : I love this as a look, but not for this challenge. I get huge Acid Betty vibes from this, but I think you would’ve benefitted from leaving the shower curtain. I really want to see more from you though, and I hope you survive this next week.
  47. G : I appreciate how you stepped up your presentation game from last week, but this is just pretty messy tbh. Given how loose the parameters on the challenge were I feel like you could have made a wiser concept choice. Even with the materials you did choose, the silhouette is just all over the place and the individual pieces don't have any coherency.

  50. L : This look is hurt by the fact that a candle wax design was used as well. This look isn’t too strong, but also isn’t bad enough to boot,
  51. G : I'm so on the fence about this. Very nice execution an all (+nice touch w/ the nails) but I feel like this needs just one more element to make it like a shrug or bolero or wide brim hat, idk. This is of course just personal taste, but I advocate for more holistic ensembles/outfits than just featuring a single dress or whatever, especially because the dress is fairly plain other than the texture of course. Very close boot.
