  1. My take on Brisbane’s economy and future as a city
  2.
  3. Brisbane has changed in about the last 10-15 years
  4.
  5. 10-15 years ago you could study at uni and get a job. There were only a few rule breakers from third world countries and only a marginal tolerance for some of the underhanded behaviour that came with it. Today there's 20% unemployment.
  6.
  7. Immigration has been good for a few of us. Not sure about the others. The few existing Australians who benefit are those who:
  8. * hold a claim (ie license/own/rights/etc) on a resource that is naturally scarce or has been made artificially scarce by govt.
  9. * can afford to buy their way out of the worst consequences of overcrowding. eg They can pay for private health care, and can pay to use toll roads and can buy property with a backyard, with plenty of parking, near a railway station etc
  10. * don’t care for the wellbeing of locally born young Australians.
  11. * benefit from welfare either through negative gearing, CGT exemptions, child or family benefits, or a job on George Street getting that welfare cheque every week.
  12.
  13. Exam cheats, counterfeit degree printers, low-wage, low-skill peasants from the 3rd world – here working for illegal salaries paying no income tax at all - that’s Brisbane today. A slight step down from the third world tax cheats who came here decades ago with their “traditions” of running stores and never paying a dime of tax.
  14.
  15. Take the students - If you do an accounting degree, you cannot become a PR here until you are working as an accountant for a few year. So people who can’t get a job as accountant will work for cash as barista/waiter/whatever, then get a fake company to ‘hire’ them as an accountant in order to get 60 points. That means they have to pay tax on the minimum wage but it’s often repaid and so the whole thing is a GIANT FUCKING SCAM! DIRTY SCAMMERS! Illiterate Hazaras, welfare bludging Iranians as part of our refugee intake, Indian peasants who got student visas fraudulently then rorted the onshore dkilled migration program, Chinese getting PR so they can launder their families dirty money in….nothing changes, but everything remains the same, but somethings change, the traffic just gets more and more shit with each passing day — the list goes on.
  16.
  17. Predictions of some people around the place — what do you imagine it is going to take in terms of a violent protest against Asian students and other immigrants to start scaring away the demand ? I mean, that is the path this country is being set on. We are not far from CFMEU organisers working in conjunction with the Property Council and Bankers Association to start targeting anti-immigrant groups. There is too much money at risk here to stop immigration, too much power.
  18.
  19. The sell-out of this country is a fait accomplis. It is a bipartisan project. It is just a question now of how big the backlash is allowed to become. The ABC will be crucial in ensuring the middle classes are kept in line, ravaged with guilt about their thought crimes against multi-culturalism.
  20.
  21. Yep, Straya has become a dog eat dog country in only 10-15 years, amazing, the change in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane has been brutal, really brutal to watch. for example little things like giving the wave in the car if someone lets you in is gone, now its just Ningbo/Shenzhen style blinker on and push and FUCK YOU I GOT MINE YOU GOT YOURS? NAH DIDN’T THINK SO WELL I GOT MINE!
  22.
  23. You could argue that the good ones are leaving and we are importing the dodgy ones… I see a lot of young professionals around the city leaving or wanting to leave. What’s that movie? All my friends are leaving Brisbane? But the bogans are here to drive their utes and mate with third world people from the Philippines?
  24.
  25. This is a social experiment on a grand scale. How much abuse will an unarmed population take before the lid blows off and what creative ways will they find to exact their own justice since their govt will not act on their behalf? This is the danger in allowing such lawless people into the midst of hard working people who do the right thing.

  29.
  30. Hardly any rich nation has mass immigration from these fucking dumps such as China like we do at the moment.
