  1. [00:47] <engimaticMobster> Hey hombre, I got a note tellin' me to talk to ya' about sprites or other.
  2. [00:47] <engimaticMobster> I'm just wonderin' if ya' know anythin' about that?
  3. [00:47] <visceralVanguard> Hello?
  4. [00:47] <visceralVanguard> I beg your pardon, but who might this be?
  5. [00:48] <visceralVanguard> I'm afraid I don't recognize your chat handle
  6. [00:49] <engimaticMobster> I don't particularly recognize yours either, but I had a note with ya' name on it.
  7. [00:50] <visceralVanguard> ?
  8. [00:50] <visceralVanguard> I'm terribly confused.
  9. [00:50] <engimaticMobster> Well, nevermind that
  10. [00:51] <engimaticMobster> The name's Juan, pleased to meet ya'.
  11. [00:51] <visceralVanguard> Pleasure to meet you to! Whoever you are....
  12. [00:51] <visceralVanguard> My name is Faerzen.
  13. [00:52] <visceralVanguard> If you don't mind me asking, how did you come across my chat handle?
  14. [00:52] <engimaticMobster> It was stuck on a note someplace
  15. [00:52] <visceralVanguard> I don't believe I publicized it terribly much on the Faucet forums
  16. [00:53] <visceralVanguard> Someplace? Someplace such as.....?
  17. [00:53] <engimaticMobster> Damn thing popped up with a message askin' about sprites
  18. [00:53] <visceralVanguard> Sprites?
  19. [00:53] <visceralVanguard> Are you playing this SABATH game as well then?
  20. [00:53] <engimaticMobster> It was on a shelf 'n my house
  21. [00:53] <engimaticMobster> And I am, yah
  22. [00:54] <visceralVanguard> Hold on a brief moment, let me pull up some logs.
  23. [00:54] <visceralVanguard> Oh, so you are!
  24. [00:54] <engimaticMobster> Mmkay
  25. [00:54] <visceralVanguard> I thought your chat handle sounded vaguely familiar for some reason.
  26. [00:55] <engimaticMobster> How's it familiar?
  27. [00:55] <visceralVanguard> We appear to be playing on the same team. Do you recall being added to a memo of some sorts for no apparent reason a while back?
  28. [00:56] <engimaticMobster> Nup, not quite
  29. [00:56] <engimaticMobster> Mind tellin' me about it?
  30. [00:56] <visceralVanguard> Some untraceable source connected several seemingly random chat handles together in a memo and then left before anyone was the wiser.
  31. [00:56] <visceralVanguard> You must have missed the notification because your chat handle is definitely one of the ones listed here.
  32. [00:57] <visceralVanguard> I'm afraid the memo wasn't terribly productive anyways. Those of us who were conversing there were rather..... preoccupied with other matters.
  33. [00:58] <visceralVanguard> Do you know anyone else who is playing this game? Perhaps the person you connected to or the person who connected to you?
  34. [00:58] <engimaticMobster> Nup, as of now you're the only person I know of.
  35. [00:59] <visceralVanguard> Did you not ever connect to someone on your computer then?
  36. [00:59] <engimaticMobster> Per'aps we could restart the mem or somethin'
  37. [01:00] == rascalywabit has changed nick to [IF]
  38. [01:00] <visceralVanguard> Yes, that could be a very useful thing to do.
  39. [01:01] <visceralVanguard> Well then, seeing as you appear to be rather isolated in your experiences with this game, I suppose I should inform you what is going on?
  40. [01:01] <visceralVanguard> You asked me about sprites? Did you have a particular question?
  41. [01:03] <engimaticMobster> Well, I suppose just in general really
  42. [01:03] <engimaticMobster> Just tell me what ya' know about this game.
  43. [01:04] <visceralVanguard> Oh ho ho, that is a big question!
  44. [01:04] <visceralVanguard> I suppose I won't need to go into every last detail if you can obtain a functioning sprite.
  45. [01:05] <visceralVanguard> Do you have one at the moment? That strange glowing orb that was flashing?
  46. [01:06] <engimaticMobster> Well, I've got a walkin' kasa hat, so probs
  47. [01:07] <visceralVanguard> What is a kasa hat?
  48. [01:07] <visceralVanguard> And are you able to communicate with your sprite?
  49. [01:08] <engimaticMobster> It's a hat that's sort of circular
  50. [01:08] <engimaticMobster> And it sort of makes retarded noises, so not really
  51. [01:09] <visceralVanguard> Ah
  52. [01:10] <visceralVanguard> Well, as you have probably noticed, when you place an object inside the sprite, the sprite absorbs it and becomes that object
  53. [01:10] <visceralVanguard> If you insert an inanimate object, the sprite takes on traits of that object and SABATH somehow personifies that object as well
  54. [01:11] <visceralVanguard> If you insert an object that is dead but was once a living being, then the sprite will become that being with the same personality and memories of that being
  55. [01:11] <engimaticMobster> So, how do I get the damn thing ta' talk?
  56. [01:11] <visceralVanguard> I presume the same thing occurs if you insert an alive object the same thing happens.
  57. [01:11] <visceralVanguard> By doing just that!
  58. [01:11] <visceralVanguard> You need to insert a second object into the sprite
  59. [01:12] <visceralVanguard> So think carefully about what you would like to be talking with!
  60. [01:12] <engimaticMobster> Right, so somethin' that's alive needs to go in there.
  61. [01:12] <engimaticMobster> And can talk
  62. [01:12] <visceralVanguard> Not necessarily, but something that is or was reasonably intelligent would contribute to a more helpful sprite
  63. [01:13] <visceralVanguard> Someone else on our team inserted a mound of terrible food and that did not end up turning out very well.
  64. [01:13] <visceralVanguard> I inserted a computer matrix with intelligence and it has been very informative
  65. [01:13] <visceralVanguard> If you think well, your sprite can be an excellent guide and companion in the game!
  66. [01:14] <visceralVanguard> As long as you don't put anything in the sprite you wouldn't wish to converse with, you should be fine.
  67. [01:16] <visceralVanguard> Once you insert the second item, you should be able to communicate with your sprite and they can assist you.
  68. [01:16] <visceralVanguard> As long as you are here, I may as well give you a couple pieces of information I believe will serve you well.
  69. [01:17] <engimaticMobster> Right, that sounds like an idea.
  70. [01:17] <visceralVanguard> There are monsters in this world, and killing them gives you a material called grist, which can be used for two things. You can use it to make items and the person who connected to you can use it to build structures onto your house.
  71. [01:18] <visceralVanguard> I do not know who it was that placed the machines in your house in the first place, but undoubtedly they are on our team as well.
  72. [01:18] <visceralVanguard> Off in another place there is a battle raging between two powerful kingdoms, and the kingdom of darkness will most definitely win. Our goal as a team is to bring down the leaders of that kingdom.
  73. [01:18] <engimaticMobster> Alright, I already found some of that "Grist" stuff.
  74. [01:19] <visceralVanguard> That is quite some time in the future though!
  75. [01:19] <engimaticMobster> What's this about kingdoms now?
  76. [01:19] <visceralVanguard> It seems as though every single one of us on this team has our own planet.
  77. [01:19] <visceralVanguard> By the way, what is yours like?
  78. [01:20] <visceralVanguard> I am simply curious, if you do not mind me asking! :)
  79. [01:24] <engimaticMobster> Pretty grassy with some sky prisms and shit
  80. [01:24] <engimaticMobster> And a lot of glass
  81. [01:25] <visceralVanguard> Interesting. That sounds very beautiful!
  82. [01:25] <engimaticMobster> Yeah, it's real damn picturesque
  83. [01:25] <engimaticMobster> 'Cept for the freaking imps
  84. [01:26] <engimaticMobster> I just killed two of 'em
  85. [01:26] <visceralVanguard> Oh, does that mean you've been able to go exploring then?
  86. [01:26] <visceralVanguard> How did you fare in your altercation?
  87. [01:26] <visceralVanguard> I hope you're okay! D:
  88. [01:26] <engimaticMobster> Nup, the screwballs just got into ma' house
  89. [01:26] <engimaticMobster> I'm fine though
  90. [01:26] <engimaticMobster> Can't say the same for them.
  91. [01:27] <visceralVanguard> That's good to hear! I'm sorry to say that the imps don't stop. :( They only keep coming, and eventually larger monsters follow!
  92. [01:27] <visceralVanguard> Hehehe, I'll be you showed them who's boss. :)
  93. [01:29] <engimaticMobster> Yeah, ain't nothing gonna survive facing up to me
  94. [01:29] <engimaticMobster> I'm a one man army with this freaking tommygun
  95. [01:30] <engimaticMobster> They didn't last too long
  96. [01:32] <visceralVanguard> It seems we all have our own planets, but in addition to that, there are two kingdoms called Prospit and Derse.
  97. [01:32] <visceralVanguard> Prospit is gold, Derse a deep purple
  98. [01:32] <visceralVanguard> You may find yourself dreaming about one of them
  99. [01:32] <visceralVanguard> They have been embroiled in a war for quite some time
  100. [01:33] <engimaticMobster> Nup, haven't seen either
  101. [01:33] <engimaticMobster> Yet again, I haven't really had a real good time falling to sleep
  102. [01:33] <visceralVanguard> Understandable.
  103. [01:33] <engimaticMobster> That ain't exactly my specialty considering the shit I deal with.
  104. [01:34] <visceralVanguard> Prospit is apparently going to lose this war no matter what, and the king of Derse will end up being a formidable enemy we will need to defeat as a team.
  105. [01:34] <visceralVanguard> Oh, is that so? I'm sorry to hear that. :(
  106. [01:34] <engimaticMobster> Yeah, don't worry about it
  107. [01:34] <engimaticMobster> I've always had that problem
  108. [01:35] <visceralVanguard> I'm afraid I can't say this game is any easier to deal with. No matter how much you think you are prepared, it always seems to have another unwanted surprise waiting around the corner!
  109. [01:37] <engimaticMobster> Well, I'll keep that in mind then
  110. [01:38] <visceralVanguard> Have you tried making items on the alchemiter yet?
  111. [01:38] <visceralVanguard> Here, just a minute.
  112. [01:38] <visceralVanguard> There can you still hear me?
  113. [01:38] <engimaticMobster> Yeah, but I don't see much of a point making the same shit.
  114. [01:38] <visceralVanguard> I mean read me I guess
  115. [01:38] <engimaticMobster> And yeah, I can
  116. [01:39] <visceralVanguard> I turned on the speech transcriber so I can work on my alchemiter at the same time
  117. [01:39] <engimaticMobster> I don't see the point of just creatin' the same shit though
  118. [01:39] <engimaticMobster> I mean, it just replicates stuff
  119. [01:39] <visceralVanguard> Yes, it is rather limited, isn't it
  120. [01:39] <engimaticMobster> Yeah, it certainly is
  121. [01:39] <visceralVanguard> Replicating can be useful in some instances, but that is only the begining!
  122. [01:39] <engimaticMobster> Wait, there's more?
  123. [01:39] <visceralVanguard> This is where you will be needing the grist!
  124. [01:40] <visceralVanguard> So you can create an object if you have the code, correct?
  125. [01:40] <visceralVanguard> But normally you only have the code if you already have the object.
  126. [01:40] <visceralVanguard> Leading to a simple replication.
  127. [01:40] <visceralVanguard> What if it were possible to obtain the code for an item that you don't have? Then you could create something completely new!
  128. [01:41] <engimaticMobster> Like a shitty sword that sucks ass? Because I've already got one of those.
  129. [01:41] <engimaticMobster> If you've got any solutions on how to find codes for cool shit, then I'm all ears
  130. [01:41] <visceralVanguard> There is actually quite a regular method for generating reliable codes!
  131. [01:42] <visceralVanguard> I would imagine it would be difficult to randomly guess them without using one of these methods
  132. [01:42] <visceralVanguard> Are you familiar with logical bitwise operations?
  133. [01:46] <visceralVanguard> It is perfectly fine if you are not. I will simply not need to explain much if you already are.
  134. [01:47] <visceralVanguard> Well, I shall provide a very brief summary then. If you punch two cards with two different codes and then overlay the two cards so there are only holes where holes in both original cards line up, that is one method
  135. [01:47] <engimaticMobster> I don't even know what that is
  136. [01:48] <engimaticMobster> One method?
  137. [01:48] <visceralVanguard> Or, if you insert a card that you've already punched with one code back into the designix and punch it again, then that is the other method
  138. [01:48] <engimaticMobster> So there are others then, sounds sweet.
  139. [01:48] <visceralVanguard> Both of those strategies seem to combine the original two codes in various ways
  140. [01:49] <visceralVanguard> So, for example, if you start with a shield and a cloak and you combine the two codes, you might end up with a cloak made out of shields
  141. [01:50] <visceralVanguard> But who knows! Sometimes it is rather unpredictable.
  142. [01:50] <visceralVanguard> For example, right now I am combining some rather interesting objects.
  143. [01:50] <visceralVanguard> And I have no idea what it will make!
  144. [01:50] <visceralVanguard> If you have some grist saved up, it may be worth combining various items together to improve your weapons and equipment.
  145. [01:51] <visceralVanguard> Oh, that combination was particularly anticlimactic.
  146. [01:51] <visceralVanguard> Hrmph.
  147. [01:51] <visceralVanguard> Have you decided what to put in your sprite?
  148. [01:51] <engimaticMobster> What are th' objects you combined?
  149. [01:52] <engimaticMobster> Perhaps one of those imps could do tha' trick
  150. [01:52] <visceralVanguard> I combined a cloak and a chunk of flammable phosphorous
  151. [01:52] <visceralVanguard> I don't know if that would be a good idea!
  152. [01:52] <visceralVanguard> The sprite takes on the personality and memories of whatever you throw in, and those imps certainly seem to be troublemakers!
  153. [01:52] <engimaticMobster> Prob'ly not
  154. [01:53] <visceralVanguard> I would put in something you're relatively certain will be helpful to you.
  155. [01:53] <visceralVanguard> Or something you would get along well with.
  156. [01:53] <engimaticMobster> Perhaps they might be troublemakers, but I dunno what else I can do
  157. [01:53] <engimaticMobster> At least they're communicable
  158. [01:53] <engimaticMobster> And yes, I'm real sure that that's a word.
  159. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> It doesn't necessarily have to be something that can talk. I inserted a hat and a computer game into mine and it has been a breeze to talk with.
  160. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> I'm sure you'll figCLSKADMCALKSDJCALSKDMCASLDKJC
  161. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh
  162. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD
  163. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod
  164. [01:54] <visceralVanguard> shitshitshitshitshit
  165. [01:55] <visceralVanguard> ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  166. [01:55] <visceralVanguard> ohhhhh god
  167. [01:55] <visceralVanguard> owwwwwwwwwww
  168. [01:55] <visceralVanguard> fuuuuuuck
  169. [01:56] <engimaticMobster> What the hell 'appened?
  170. [01:56] <visceralVanguard> hfffffhffffffhfdshhhhhh
  171. [01:56] <visceralVanguard> cSLKDJCSDCKL FUCK
  172. [01:56] <visceralVanguard> -- visceralVanguard [VV] has disconnected --
  173. [01:56] <engimaticMobster> Yo, you there?
  174. [01:57] <engimaticMobster> ((Well damn))
  175. [01:57] <engimaticMobster> ((Leave me on a cliffhanger))
  176. [01:57] <visceralVanguard> ((rekt))
  177. [01:58] <engimaticMobster> ((I have been sincerely rekt))
  178. [01:58] <Tarane[K1K]> <That was hilarious XD>
