>You have lived a long life in this place and now you are an old man gazing up at the seemingly infinite amount of stars that fill the night sky.
>Suddenly, your eyes catch the light of an unusually bright star
>The star, vivid as can be, brings her back into your thoughts
>You spent many nights outside to feel as close to her as you could
>It has been many years since you lost her, for what has felt like forever, yet here she is the brightest star you have ever seen
>The star’s shine shows the gleam in her brilliant blue eyes and the shine from her tender smile
>Your eyes fall to the ground and pinch close, letting the tears that formed run off of your face
>While you may never hold her again you know she is up there looking down on you
>You lay there in the grass and allow the cool breeze to wash over you
>You inhale the cool night air as you feel the world around you disappear
>The sudden feeling of everything disappearing jolts your eyes open
>You are young once more and seem to be floating into the dark sky surrounded by brilliant stars
>Your mind can’t comprehend this situation as you look around in utter shock and slight fear, but then as your eyes shoot right and your heart skips a beat
“Honey...is that you?”
>She is not looking at you. She just has her head down and eyes closed
>”I’ve missed you Anonymous”
>Your hand is trembling as it slowly reaches for her
>Your fingers slide through the soft strands of her flowing dark hair
>You proceed to run your free hand over her cheek and lift and turn her head so her eyes meet yours
>She smiles a gentle smile while she stares into your tear filled eyes
“My god, it is really you isn’t it”
>”Yes Anon, it is really me”
“Does this mean I’m—“
>”Yes”
>As she confirms your suspicion you feel a wave of relief wash over you
>You don’t mind that you have died, you outlived everyone else anyway.
>You also don’t know how you are able to be with her watching over the sky and the stars, but you truly don’t care
>The important thing is you’re with your beloved sweetheart again
>Your smile is gentle as you wrap your arms around Luna in a tight embrace
>You can’t hold it in anymore and the tears rush out of your eyes
>You can hear her sob as she presses her head into your shoulder
>She pulls back and looks at you, both of your faces wet from crying
>Her chocked up whispers are soft, but audible
>”It has been so long anonymous, I was never sure we would be together again”
>”I had requested to mother that you be allowed to stay with me when you passed, but I had never gotten a reply”
“Baby I… I love you so much. I never thought I’d see you again”
>”I know anonymous…I know”
>She leans in and presses her velvet lips against yours
>As she breaks the kiss you hear her whisper
>”I love you Anonymous”
“I love you too”
>Still locked in the embrace she rests her head on your shoulder and exhales softly
“What now”
>”We live and love, watch and guide, we are the spirits of the stars Anonymous”
“So we get to spend eternity together, watching over the stars and keeping everything calm and beautiful for everyone and everything that sees them?”
