  1. Volume 7 (because this weekly business isn't really a thing anymore) - Inexpensive Decks
  2.
  3. Recently there have been surges of rogue, anti-meta or just weird decks taking the PTCG world by storm; and, in most cases, these decks haven't lead to any disappointment. For the majority, these decks will cost between $40-$70 and are very easy to use to some success.
  4.
  5. The first deck that meets specification is Night March. Night March is an attack exclusive to 3 Pokémon from XY4 Phantom Forces - Joltik PHF, Lampent PHF and Pumpkaboo PHF. The Night March attack is a lot like Flareon PLF's Vengeance as it does 20x the amount of Pokémon with the Night March attack in the discard pile. Throughout the variants they share 16 key cards, the 12 Night March attackers and Battle Compressor to discard them straight from the deck.

  7. The first variant I will cover is Flareon/Night March the main attackers being Pumpkaboo PHF/Joltik PHF (depending on the opponent) and Flareon PLF to use Vengeance - this attack will work in unison due to discarding the Night March attackers and increasing Vengeance's power. The main Energy base is 4x Double Colorless Energy and 5x Psychic Energy because of low attack costs. My preferable stadium in this variant is Dimension Valley making Pumpkaboo PHF's attack cost just 2 Energy.
  8.
  9. The second is Shrine - a deck focusing on the new stadium from XY5 Primal Clash, Shrine of Memories - a stadium card that lets evolutions use their pre-evolution's attacks. Chandelure PHF evolves from Lampent PHF allowing it to use Night March while having it's ability to Knock Out the Pokémon that knocks it out. Gourgeist PHF evolves from Pumpkaboo PHF allowing it to have 200 HP with grass energy attached - both of these variants require you to use 3 energy but for a stronger Pokémon.
  10.
  11. The second deck has proved it's worth yet from a reliable source the cards can cost less than you may think - this deck is Donphan.
  12. Donphan is a stage 1 attacker that focuses on it's attack, Spinning Turn. 40 damage for a single Fighting Energy and switch with a benched Pokémon seems solid already but with Strong Energy and Fighting Stadium support it can become a powerhouse, OHKOing the likes of Darkrai-EX and M Manectric-EX.
  13. -Variants
  14. On my Pastebin page I have created 2 lists that focus on Donphan/Trevenant - or as I have once called it, the watered down Trevgor. Spinning Turn does some good damage to the opponent, then you switch into a Trevenant XY that shuts off item cards for the opponent - much like Seismitoad-EX's Quaking Punch. Donphan can be paired with nearly anything that can lock, stall or create a good combo. The list I recommend as follows: Sigilyph LTR, Snorlax PLS, Trevenant XY, Wobbuffet PHF.
  15. The maybe list is as follows: Pyroar FLF, Zekrom LTR/Reshiram LTR/Kyurem LTR.
  16.
  17. The third deck is Pyroar. Pyroar is as basic as an anti-meta deck gets, it's ability Intimidating Mane means all damage done by basic Pokémon is negated. Made popular by Michael Pramawat's draw engine and basic support caused it to get to 2nd place at USA Nationals 2014.
  18. Pyroar is best paired with Double Colorless attackers so Scorching Fang can get powered up by the same engine, and most Fire-type Pokémon. It's pretty simple to run and has a lot of versatility with it's supports and engines - there is really no wrong way to run it unless you decide to not run any draw supporters I guess.
  19.
  20. Most decks can cost a lot or a little but finding a deck that works well and beats other decks is pretty hard if you work on a tight budget, these are just 3 decks that are viable for being cheap but maybe if you experiment you might be able to find cheap ways to build good decks.
