  1. PM to-Sound Scopes: I know power/metagaming is an issue but I really don't think that qualifies. I've been doing it for months, ever since Lockie started doing it. Paragon does it, Lockie does it, a number of other doctors do it, Phoebe defends it. Why is it such an issue now, to want to be efficient?

  3.
  4. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: And we have just noticed. We are talking every doctor about it who we spot doing it and telling them it is not allowed. End of

  6. (returned the hardsuit)
  7.
  8. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: Thank you, sorry if it came across as a tough message but since we have only just noticed that people have been doing it we need to be tough. No warning have been issued to people who have just been told (Like yourself)
  9.
  10. PM to-Sound Scopes: It's ridiculous, Scopes. That's like saying the defibs/rollerbeds don't belong at the reception desk because it's powergaming - or possibly make the surgery freezer room into a secondary operating theater because that would also be powergaming in case something bad happens and multiple surgeries are required - yet that was encouraged by Skull if you want to make your department as a whole more efficient. I would think that as the head of the medbay I'd be authorized to redistribute medical equipment.
  11.
  12. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: Hardsuits are EVA gear, taking them into medical could be considered contamination due to dirt. However you are not expecting a bomb to go off or a room to suddenly vent. It's just like R&D building a robotics fabricator in R&D rather than asking robotics. It's powergaming.
  13.
  14. PM to-Sound Scopes: It's EVA gear intended to be used for medical personnel. I like having the medical equipment in medical storage. We're doctors, we want to save lives. Having a hardsuit easily accessible to all doctors only makes sense in my mind, and having a hardsuit in medical storage has - to my knowledge - been a burden more often than it should, because the firelocks go down on the medical storage room WAAYYY more often than it does in EVA storage.
  15.
  16. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: Everyone should have access to fire locks. There are things called protocol and SoP, neither of these state that you can store EVA gear in medbay. All of the current staff on beleive it is powergaming and shouldn't be allowed.
  17.
  18. PM to-Sound Scopes: Nothing in SOP stating it can't be either. Firelocks are accessible to everyone until there's an "internals required" alarm active. After which point it tells you to wait for someone who's authorized to open it. The medbay storage has been vented and locked out - and worse, emptied of its contents more than EVA's been inaccessible. The fact that I still do this only shows that it ISN'T powergaming, otherwise I would have said "Fuck that, I don't want the hardsuit sucked out again".
  19.
  20. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: It doesn't matter what you think, the staff have said no.
  21.
  22. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: Then feel free to make a suggestion on the forums, that is where changes are made.
  23.
  24. PM to-Sound Scopes: I don't remember seeing a hardsuit restriction thread.
  25.
  26. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: Make one in the suggestion subforum, it's what it is there for. Just remember that some things are the way they are to create a challange for people to face. If everyone had everything they needed in their office/department then there would be no challange. Like if security had access to weapons all the time, there would be no challange for them
  27.
  28. PM to-Sound Scopes: I'm aware, and I was encouraged to accomodate my department to the best of my abilities so long as it was reasonable - and I don't recall a time where any doctor couldn't walk into EVA. Only the warden, HoS and captain can walk into the armory.
  29.
  30. PM to-Sound Scopes: Moreso, the fact that it was in the medbay storage has been a detriment and limited medical to the hardsuit that was still in EVA as a result, posing another challenge - I really do not see the issue, it's a double edged sword.
  31.
  32. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: There's a difference between accomodating your department, and supplying them with everything they will ever need at a moment's reach. EVA gear belongs in EVA that's it. Just like robotics stays in robotics and doesn't move to R&D, or the chamistry machines stay in chemistry.
  33.
  34. PM to-Sound Scopes: As I said, nothing against SOP restricting a head from redistributing resources belonging to that department - and once again, any doctor can walk into EVA. Scientists can't walk into robotics, doctors can't walk into chemistry. Different scenarios.
  35.
  36. Admin Developer PM from-Sound Scopes: True, however for now, EVA gear stays in EVA since it is the /desigated area/ for EVA equipment.
