  1. If you're going to wear perfume (and don't think you have to), you might as well be f**kin' #based about it and stop half-assing. This method will equip you with a scent for any occasion, save you money, and expose you to the interesting world of fragrances!
  2.
  3. If you are buying big bottles of cologne, you are DOING IT WRONG. Instead, buy smaller samples of different fragrances online, and here's why: When you buy a bottle of a scent, you often spend around $80-120 (if you're getting decent stuff), and you only get 1 scent. You will smell the same for every occasion, because you only have 1 scent. THAT IS WRONG. You can spend $40 on samples and end up with 8 different scents ($3-4 each + shipping) instead, and here's why that's better:
  4.
  5. You should be basing your scent off of 4 things: The weather, the time of day, the occasion, and personal preference. If it's warm and sunny, you should smell different than if it's cold and sunny. Your spring fragrances are different from your summer, fall, and winter fragrances. Your daytime scents are different from your nighttime scents. Your date night perfume is different from the perfume you wear to work. Buying samples will allow you to have an appropriate scent for ANY and ALL occasions, for LESS money than 1 big bottle of perfume! Plus, here's the kicker: you get to try out new scents!
  6.
  7. You can go to the store and test out fragrances for free and get a few samples, but the clerk won't keep giving them to you without you buying a bottle eventually. Also, people's preferences are known to change once they become more experienced with scents. The last thing you want to do is end up with a big bottle of perfume that you won't even put on anymore!
  8.
  9. So do a little bit of research online and find some perfumes that you want to try, then order the samples from a sample website. Don't worry about not being able to smell the cologne before buying a sample online; if you get a fragrance you don't like, you only lose about $4 anyway, so no big deal. Do this until you find a few fragrances that you love, and then you can buy a bigger bottle, if you want. Or, you can just reorder your favorite samples, and try a few new ones in the next batch. Since the weather and occasion changes from day to day, you wont run out of the samples quickly, because you will be rotating them, in essence. The only big bottle you should buy is your work cologne (if you wear it to work), because you wear it 5 days a week, so you need more of it.
  10.
  11. Basenotes and Fragrantica are the top websites for cologne and perfume reviews. There are many websites that sell samples, so just Google it. Feel free to message me with any questions, or if something didn't make sense. Happy smelling!
