- “Honey, I’m home.” Mom called to Meowth as my tired legs carried me through the door. My legs were dead tired from the trek to town and back, not even having had a moment’s rest since the jet ride to Alola. Not that it wasn’t my decision, I wasn’t about to give up the chance to get a Pokemon, let alone the six that rested comfortably on the pokeballs on my belt.
- “Oh, Moon, back already?” she asked, jarring me from my thoughts.
- “Yeah, yeah, I’m back. I needed a, nevermind.” I said dismissively, waddling what was supposed to be a stroll past her. I knew she could tell from the way I walked and the slight blush on my cheeks, as if the bulging fighting against my short shorts wasn’t enough of a message.
- “Ah?” she said, hugging me from behind. I squeaked and stumbled, huffing at her. “What, hon? I’ll find it for you. After all, it can’t possibly be a change, can it? If you were wet, you’d be asking for help.” Despite her words, my pants had already hit the ground by the time she finished, two fingers slipping into my utterly soaked diaper. I hated to even think of it, the fact that I had to wear these was bad enough, and having to have her change me was even worse, but that wasn’t even the worst part. The diapers came with the loudest print I could even think of. Pokeballs and reds and blues everywhere. I brushed her hands away and turned around, my arms cross.
- “I can too!” I said, “Besides, you’re exhausted from all that dancing you did. Maybe it’s time I learned to change myself.”
- She laughed, not an insulting laugh, but a laugh that only comes about when a mother hears of some nonsense. I looked away. “But dear, to learn, you have to be taught. Let’s get you changed, and you can tell me all about the Pokemon you caught, okay?”
- “But mom!” I protested, “I’m a Trainer now, I don’t need help!” I huffed, even giving my foot a stomp. Mom merely crossed her arms with a little huff.
- “Excuse me, Moon? Mind your manners, you know you don’t know how to change yourself. I’m going to help you, now say you’re sorry and come quietly, and maybe the lesson I teach you will be about changes and not discipline.” She shot, her tone switching to stern mother in a flash. I winced, unconsciously covering my rear with my hands, and gave a wine.
- “Gosh, y’don’t have to yell…” I said, slowly turning back to her, “I’m sorry, alright? It’s just so embarrassing.” I said. She relaxed, took me by the hand, and led me back toward my room.
- “That’s better. I don’t mean to snap, hon, but I’m busy enough with moving without having to deal with your bedwetting.” She said, opening my door and closing it behind me. No one was going to come in, but she knew I enjoyed the little assurance of privacy. I glanced around, huffing again.
- “I don’t wet the bed!” I said, ignoring the stare that I knew was burning into the back of my head, “That much!” I said, finishing my statement with a little stamp of my foot. A sudden smack collided with my rear, painless through the three inch thick plastic, but the noise and sudden squish of soaked diaper against my skin made me yelp.
- “Hey!” I yelled.
- “Manners.” she said again, but I could tell she was trying not to laugh. She walked by me, throwing open my box of stuff and pulled out a large changing pad, some powder, the oil, and then laying it out. “Now could you be a dear and fetch a diaper?” She asked, gesturing toward a box by the door. I sighed again, but didn’t linger long enough to catch one of her stares.
- I had to admit walking was starting to get irritating. I was already wet by the time I had caught my first Caterpie, and was worried I might leak by the time I caught my second. And now, well, you could replace my diaper with one filled with ice water, and I’m not sure if I could tell the difference.
- I’d have refused to test that hypothesis, though.
- I bent over, squeaking as I felt loose liquid migrate over my rear and to my front, the squeak followed by a sudden bloom of warmth. I squeaked again, grabbing a thick pokeball themed diaper and throwing it under my legs as I felt liquid press against my thigh, and a few droplets poor down my legs. I rushed toward my waiting mother, my cheeks ablaze.
- “Sorry!” I yelped, “Sorry, sorry, sorry!” I repeated, nearly throwing the diaper at her and crashing into the changing pad. I landed with an embarrassing squish and a rush of more liquids. I didn’t even know if I leaked anymore. I snatched my Pikachu doll from the side and held it close. I didn’t even care if mom laughed, but I was really glad that she always kept it at my changing table.
- Mom, of course, did snicker quite a bit as she pulled my shirt up and away from my diaper, and pulled my legs down and apart. “You really do need to learn.” She said, running her nail over the soaked plastic, ripping each tape off one by one. “I suppose I don’t have to tell you this part, so why don’t you tell me about your day, what’d you catch?” she asked, unfolding the soaked thing and rolling me to the side so she could ball it up and throw it into a bin. Rolled back in place, she slipped warmed wipes over my skin.
- “Well…” I said, shuddering as the air touched my skin, somehow seeming even more frigid. “Other than Rowlet?” I asked, she nodded. “Well first, I caught a pikipek.” I said, balling my fists as the wipes hit the more ticklish areas. I trained my mouth into a frown, fighting the urge to smile and giggle. I succeeded enough that I just looked like a happy child trying to look angry. “After that, I caught a Caterpie. I was so happy to see those, I didn’t think I’d find anything like back home. Oh, then a Yungoose came out, I caught that too!” I didn’t even care that I sounded like a child at this point, “Then I found another Caterpie, and that one was female and my pokedex thing said it had a better nature, so I trained that, and named her Glitter.” My legs were pulled up, the wipes going over my rear. “Oh, yeah, I named Rowlet ‘Perch’, the first Caterpie ‘Monarch’, and the Pikipek ‘Flute’!” The diaper was unfolded, and my rear lifted up just enough as the diaper was slid under me. “And anyway, just before I got to town, I found a Ledyba. Named her Scarlet!” My bottom was set on the pillow garment, and I couldn’t help but sigh. Dry changes would never not feel good.
- “And the Yungoose?” she asked, pulling the diaper around, moving my rear along with it until she found the perfect fit.
- “Oh, um…” I blushed, putting my hands together, “I couldn’t come up with one. I was thinking ‘Detective.’”
- “That’s a good name, you can’t just not name your partners. Alright, now, you’re going to want to make sure your fit is perfect.” She said, pulling my diaper up and over my skin, and then pulling the wings up, all without messing with the tapes. “See how both wings go to the same distance across? You’ll want that, or it won’t seal properly. You’ll also want to make sure you get the up and down just right. That can be a bit hard, so you’ll just have to figure it out on your own.”
- I nodded, a bigger blush on my cheeks, albeit now with a smile. “Oh, um, Okay. Is that it?”
- She laughed again, shaking her head. “No, Moon, just the most important bit. Now…” she unfolded the diaper, taking the powder up and sprinkling it onto my skin. “You want to spread this evenly, then rub it in. It can be difficult to do it yourself, so you should try to just spread some around in your diaper first before putting it on.” I squeaked as my legs went up once again, powder showering my posterior.
- “Ack, okay, okay, gosh, why can you never warn me for that part?” I said, huffing.
- “Because I want to see how long it takes for it to stop surprising you.” She said flatly. She held my legs up with one hand and guided her other hand over my rear, once more sending me into a battle against tickling giggles.
- “Mph, yeah, whatever.” I said, cursing the budding grin on my lips. Finally, my rear hit the fluffy diaper again, and her hand rubbed the powder on my topside. I couldn’t help but giggle, and not just that, give off an unwomanly snort as I tried to fight it. She didn’t laugh this time, she just smiled a warm smile.
- “Well, that’s it.” She said, pulling my diaper up closed. “Just tape them in this order.” She pulled the bottom right tape and pulled it across my diaper, then the left bottom, then the right top and finally the left top. She then sat up on her knees and clapped her dusty hands together. “And that’s that! But without me to do it for you, you’ll want to adjust your fit after each tape. It’ll be a while before you get my mastery over it.” She said, giving me two pats to the rear before standing up and dusting herself off. I picked myself up, hoping my blush wore off.
- “Oh, really? That’s it?” I asked, prodding at my fresh change. It was as perfect a fit as ever, but it somehow felt different. Simpler, maybe.
- “Yup, that’s it!” She said, tossing my pajamas at me. I scrambled as they hit me, stumbling back and falling into my bed.
- “Ack! Hey!” I said, sitting up with a scowl.
- “Hey yourself, I’m exhausted, you have to be too. Get some rest, alright?” she said with a wink. Before I could even get a word out, the door was shut and I was left alone in my room. I sighed, sitting back on my bed. I was tired. I somehow forgot how tired I was during the whole exchange. I mentally kicked myself, being that excited to learn how to change myself. What was I? Four? Most girls my age wouldn’t be worried about something like that. I huffed and tossed my hat to the side and pulled my shirt off. Just then, I heard my door peak open. I squeaked and threw my pillow in front of my chest.
- “Mom!” I shouted.
- “Sorry!” she said, a smile on her lips, “I just wanted to say I’m proud of you, Moon. Good night!”
- The door shut close that moment, and I gave a little huff.
- “Yeah, yeah…” I said, looking at my bright pink pajamas. “I really do appreciate it.” I mumbled with a smile. I pulled my pajamas on quickly, the moment my head pulled out the top of my pajama top, I fell back on my bed and lost consciousness.
- I poked my head out our front door, dressed the same as the night before, yawning. In front of me waited a young girl with long, blonde hair and a wide white hat. For just a moment I forgot who she was.
- “Lillie?” I asked sleepily.
- “Oh. Um…” she responded, looking down at the ground. “The professor said…” she looked away, trying her best to mimic the man’s incessant voice. “Hey there Lillie! Bring me that new trainer. Woo!” she forced the woo with a raised arm, only to then blush and look at the ground again.
- “Um…” I said, blushing a bit, “That’d be me, right? So…” I kicked myself mentally. What a stupid question. Why did every cute girl rob me of all of my senses? How stupid can I be?
- “So I’m here to show you the way to his Pokemon Lab, if you’ll come with me.” She said, “It’s, um, this way…” she pointed along one of the roads down south of my home. Before I could respond, the front door swung open again.
- “Moon!” Mom called, barreling out of our house with my bag in her arms. She tossed it to me, and thrust a wallet into my hands. “Here. A little pocket money for you. Don’t go wasting it on anything too silly! Oh, and extra changes for the road.” As she finished, my cheeks flushed.
- “Mom! Don’t just spill that out there!” I spouted, looking quickly at Lillie, who was simply blushing and looking away. Mom gave me a puzzled look.
- “Oh? She didn’t know?” she simply said.
- “Wh-of course she didn’t, why would she?” I shot, for a moment considering that maybe I was making a big deal of something Lillie wouldn’t understand. My mother just shrugged.
- “Well, I figured it was something you two were bonding over, y’know, being friends and all. Birds of a feather, and all.” She gave Lillie a wave, “Besides, she’s really cute, so it fit.” She edged toward me, whispering, “Just look at her clothes.”
- “M-me?” Lillie stammered, giving a bow so haphazard I thought she’d fall over, “Well, thank you… My name is Lillie…”
- Mom simply gave a nod, turned to me with her hands on her hips and beamed. “Looks like it’s finally your time to shine, sweetie! Enjoy yourself out there with Rowlet, and don’t be out too late.” And with that, she turned on her heel and sauntered back into the house.
- Outside, the two of us simply stood there in silence for several seconds.
- “You…have a very nice mother, don’t you?” Lillie said, still not meeting my gaze.
- “That’s, um, one way to put it.” I said, rubbing my arm. Internally I was yelling. Why did I have to be born to that woman and not get any of her boundless socializing energy? It wasn’t fair. It just wasn’t. How does a human move like that?
- “We should get going, I’ll show you to the Pokemon Research Lab.” She said, turning and walking down the path. I still stood, stopped in place, watching the girl. Her coat blocked any look at her rear, not that I was doing any kind of perversion, but there was a way about how she walked. She swayed with each step, her legs never so much as brushing each other. Each step was deliberate, and peculiarly familiar. I remember what mom said and stared at the retreating girl dumbfoundedly.
- “Oh.”
