  1. Game 51: Ys I Chronicles+ - started on 15.04.2015, finished on 16.04.2015 (5:51)
  2. # The game would be so, so much more enjoyable if not for the final boss fight. Really loved my time spend with it, enough to hunt most of the obscure achivements, but that crapshot of a fight left a really bitter taste. Points down for not implementing a good image resampler for the 16:9 mode - trilinear my ass, looks more like bilinear with additional blur. :\ Was hoping to do Ys II as well, might have to take a small break from Adoling...
  3.
  4. Game 52: Basketbelle - started on 16.04.2015, finished on 16.04.2015 (0:51)
  5. # Really nice game, great variety despite the fact that you're pretty much only dribbling and throwing the basketball, got all three endings as well. I just wish there was a way to disable the TV static effect, as it was kind of obnoxious. Great music as well.
  6.
  7. Game 53: Ys II Chronicles+ - started on 16.04.2015, finished on 18.04.2015 (9:39)
  8. # Way, way better than the first part. Actual dungeons, way less annoying boss fights, magic allowing for bump-less combat, and like, the most amazing soundtrack ever. Recommended to the max!
  9.
  10. Game 54: Freshman Year - started on 20.04.2015, finished on 20.04.2015 (0:07)
  11. # Okay, this was really cool. Lack of actual player choice made the situation happening all the more unnerving. Great little game to give you something to think about.
  12.
  13. Game 55: Skyborn - started on 18.04.2015, finished on 25.04.2015 (9:54)
  14. # Great game, proof that RPG Maker doesn't necessarily mean a mediocre game. I had way more fun playing this than I had during my recent FF6 playthrough. It's just... so
  15. snappy. And nice to the player. Great dungeon design as well. Highly recommended!
  16.
  17. Game 56: BIT.TRIP Runner 2 - started on 18.04.2015, finished on 26.04.2015 (5:45)
  18. # Beat the main story mode + did a few achievements hunting. Might come back to get all the chests/characters/cartridges, since the game is way, way better than the first part. Mainly due to the inclusion of midlevel checkpoints, which take down the frustration factor significantly. I still don't think having 'one hit == death' mechanics are a good fit for a music game, maybe as a bonus mode.
  19.
  20. Game 57: The Room - started on 27.04.2015, finished on 27.04.2015 (2:23)
  21. # While it certainly does scream 'made for tablets', it's a great puzzle game, no doubts about it. Highly recommended! I just wish the devs would put the sequel on Steam already.
  22.
  23. Game 58: Shelter - started on 28.04.2015, finished on 29.04.2015 (1:00)
  24. # Oh so pretty interactive art. Quite mediocre as a game though, unless I'm missing something here. Love-love-love the aesthetic design used.
  25.
  26. Game 59: Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers - started on 27.04.2015, finished on 30.04.2015 (4:24)
  27. # Interesting physics puzzle platformer. Art design reminded me of Tekkonkinkreet, the actual gameplay mechanics were entertaining, controls notwithstanding. Some enjoyable achievements as well. Did not overstay its welcome, which I count as a plus. Great alt-rock soundtrack.
  28.
  29. Game 60: Three Fourths Home - started on 30.04.2015, finished on 01.05.2015 (2:06)
  30. # The 'press D to drive' mechanic could well be gotten rid of. Otherwise, very solid short story. Epilogue was amazing, especially when the main characters fought with her memories. Loved the music, the writing and the ambiguity.
  31.
  32. Game 61: Cinders - started on 01.05.2015, finished on 03.05.2015 (4:46)
  33. # Game could've used a bit more variance in music - the themes were nice, but there simply wasn't enough of them. Other than that, fairly nice visual novel. Was interesting even despite using such a well known theme.
  34.
  35. Game 62: Rage - started on 18.04.2015, finished on 07.05.2015 (13:02)
  36. # Less driving, more shooting, less talking, more shooting, less minigames, more shooting. And then I'd have a game I could fully get behind. What little shooting was there in RAGE was great. Alas, the ratio of shooting/busy-work was not entirely satisfying. Oh well, game looked great. Even the much evident texture pop-in couldn't ruin just how bloody amazing it looked. Unless you somehow gotten head first into a wall. Then it turned into an early N64 game. Hey, Id, mip-map much?
  37.
  38. Game 63: Da New Guys: Day of the Jackass - started on 08.05.2015, finished on 10.05.2015 (3:31)
  39. # Well, decent puzzles, some nice voice acting and humor, weirdly amateurish artwork... Overall not bad, but I sure as hell am not surprised Wadjet Eye doesn't want to have this game on Steam...
  40.
  41. Game 64: Lyne - started on 01.05.2015, finished on 18.05.2015 (12:24)
  42. # Simply too long. That about sums up my feelings on Lyne. Cut that shit in half, and it'd be a good timewaster, as such it went well beyond my comfort zone.
  43.
  44. Game 65: Rayman Legends - started on 03.05.2015, finished on 24.05.2015 (19:55)
  45. # Hands down the best looking game on PC. Great level design (even despite some trial and error sections), amazing music, bonus levels from Origins... Such a pity we're never getting another Rayman from these guys. :(
  46.
  47. Game 66: Higurashi When They Cry Chapter 1 - started on 23.05.2015, finished on 27.05.2015 (10:14)
  48. # I don't think I'd stand the first few chapters if I wasn't through Umineko. Once shit hit the fan, it was an amazing VN, but before that... Ugh. Hopefully later chapter don't have as much of the wacky class hijinx as this one had. :\ Props to Mangagamer for easing the use of mods - playing with PS3 voice acting was a definitive improvement.
  49.
  50. Game 67: L.A. Noire - started on 20.05.2015, finished on 11.06.2015 (25:23)
  51. # I guess I could've used partner taxi instead of driving everywhere, that's like 5 hours of boredom shaved off. Oh well, live and learn. Nice adventure game disguised as a GTA clone, lovely (yet slightly creepy) mocap tech. Passable B-tier movie story. Terrible engine with framepacing issues making for a seriously not-fun experience at times.
  52.
  53. Game 68: Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle - started on 11.06.2015, finished on 14.06.2015 (7:22)
  54. # That has got to be the single worst adventure game I've ever beaten. And that includes Broken Sword 4, which I played last year. Everything except for background art (and some music) was just so, so terrible. Ugh.
  55.
  56. Game 69: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - started on 14.06.2015, finished on 17.06.2015 (6:29)
  57. # Other than Uplay being UDon'tPlay, I can't really find anything wrong with this game. Classic Prince of Persia experience - bad fights, crappy story, amazing level design and breath-taking platforming. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for something similar after finishing the Sands of Time trilogy.
  58.
  59. Game 70: Picross NP Vol. 4 - started on 13.03.2015, finished on 17.06.2015 (10:52)
  60. # Well, not much to say, another puzzle pack done. Nothing except for the puzzles changed ever since NP Vol. 1. I guess I will take a short Picross break for now.
  61.
  62. Game 71: Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden - started on 17.06.2015, finished on 18.06.2015 (4:09)
  63. # Fun casual adventure game. It even has option to substitute hidden objects with small puzzles for people who absolutely can't stand it. Good production values, lovely artwork, decent story. All in all a good way to spend an evening.
  64.
  65. Game 72: Papo & Yo - started on 17.06.2015, finished on 19.06.2015 (2:56)
  66. # Good puzzle platformer. Bit wonky at times - had to restart a few checkpoints because the characters got stuck in geometry, and game events wouldn't trigger. Looks nice, lovely, haunting music. Couldn't be arsed to play through the game a second time for the hats achievement - I don't really like when devs do things like that. Overall recommended, just short enough not to wear out its welcome.
  67.
  68. Game 73: Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink - started on 19.06.2015, finished on 19.06.2015 (3:23)
  69. # Oh wow, talk about improvement. Great (or at least good) voice acting, better puzzles, no alternative to HO parts, but there was less of those and few were organized as puzzle chains. Looked way better as well, great music too. Tad on the short side though... Looking forward to what next Artifex Mundi will provide. Highly recommended.
  70.
  71. Game 74: The Raven: Legacy of Master Thief - started on 20.06.2015, finished on 27.06.2015 (10:28)
  72. # Decent adventure game in the vein of Agatha Christie novels. Great music, ugly FMVs, not so ugly main game, but lots of buggy 3D pathfinding, luckily I haven't run into any major bugs. Does fall apart at the end - the final plot twist doesn't make any sense. Oh well, way better than King Art's previous game.
  73.
  74. Game 75: Tomb Raider: Legend - started on 19.06.2015, finished on 01.07.2015 (6:10)
  75. # Well, you can see where the 2013 reboot got its start... Entirely too much shooting, roid-rage Lara, porn-flick story. The actual level design was good, platforming sections great. I just wish the 'next-gen' content thing had better QA. Entirely too dark at some sections, crashing the game at others. Oh well, the PS2 graphics weren't that bad, honestly. I just wish there was a way to not have so many murders here, I've been trying to play Tomb Raider and not Postal.
  76.
  77. Game 76: The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings - started on 27.06.2015, finished on 04.07.2015 (23:12)
  78. # Iorveth path this time, and boy, even if that Legolas stand-in is widely less interesting as a character than Roche was, his story path is definitely better of the two. Oh well, clunky gameplay, unsatisfying performance on my rig and minor engine woes aside, a solid story-driven RPG. Can't wait to replay the Roche path in 2020 with a GPU that will handle 1080p60.
  79.
  80. Game 77: eden* - started on 04.07.2015, finished on 07.07.2015 (9:06)
  81. # Certainly the prettiest VN I've ever played. Loads of animation as well, nice music, good voice acting. Story wasn't really my kind of thing, but other than the pointless 'humor' interludes, wasn't annoying as well. Also, I really couldn't take it seriously when it had that goddamn maid popping in and out of the game. Recommended for people who like Makoto Shinkai movies.
  82.
  83. Game 78: Mass Effect - started on 07.07.2015, finished on 13.07.2015 (23:03)
  84. # Paragon FemShep replay, proper thoughts after the complete trilogy
  85. Game 79: Mass Effect 2 - started on 13.07.2015, finished on 22.07.2015 (31:29)
  86. # Paragon FemShep replay + all major DLCs
  87. Game 80: Mass Effect 3 - started on 22.07.2015, finished on 02.08.2015 (35:55)
  88. # Once again, Paragon FemShep replay with all DLCs. God, what an amazing ride that was. I seriously don't get the fuss people had with ME3 - fitting finish to the game. Might help that I was playing with both Extended Ending and Leviathan DLC, both of which greatly enhance the end game.
  89.
  90. Game 81: Penny Arcade's On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 - started on 26.07.2015, finished on 05.08.2015 (8:50) - honestly? A really good jRPG with major battle focus (think FFXIII with a less insane story). Okay-ish music, nice pixel art, good encounter design, mediocre dungeon design. Lots of extras - Arena, Extra Dungeon, optional Prelude chapter, setting up the 4th game. Recommended.
  91.
  92. Game 82: Penny Arcade's On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 - started on 05.08.2015, finished on 08.08.2015 (8:34) - first thing that comes to mind is the amazing music. Story is literally insane, encounter design slightly worse than in PA3, dungeon design slightly better. Lovely pixel art. Highly recommended for the music alone.
  93.
  94. Game 83: Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek - started on 08.08.2015, finished on 08.08.2015 (4:19) - another fine Artifex Mundi HOPA game. I just wish they'd allow for 4:3 mode, instead of stretching their art to fit 16:9 monitors. The HO scenes looked terrible. Good story, decent puzzles and music, porn-style voice acting. Recommended for people not averse to HOPAs.
  95.
  96. Game 84: Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood - started on 09.08.2015, finished on 10.08.2015 (4:13) - luckily native 16:9 art this time. Direct continuation of previous game. Way better voice acting, superb design both in puzzle and in HO scenes. Very good story. Highly recommended.
  97.
  98. Game 85: Binary Domain - started on 10.08.2015, finished on 14.08.2015 (8:18) - Bo! Why did you have to die! Why?! Best GitS game available on PC, heck, second best Sega game available on PC (sorry Valkyria Chronicles). Highly recommended to people looking for shooting legs and arms of of helpless robots.
  99.
  100. Game 86: Spec Ops: The Line - started on 15.08.2015, finished on 16.08.2015 (4:15) - still the best wargame. I don't think any other game can make you feel as shitty for what you've been enjoying, and I wouldn't have it other way.
  101.
  102. Game 87: The Tiny Bang Story - started on 17.08.2015, finished on 18.08.2015 (2:56) - HOPA with focus on actual Puzzle Adventure part. Good puzzles, mellow music, non-existent story, broken as fuck hint system. Not sure if I can honestly recommend the game when there's Artifex Mundi games on Steam.
  103.
  104. Game 88: Child of Light - started on 14.08.2015, finished on 21.08.2015 (9:41) - about 3-4 hours too long. As mediocre an RPG as they can get, I've played way better RPG Maker games than this. Pity, the art is really breathtaking, if the game was half as good as its graphics, I'd be amazing. As such I can't recommend it.
  105.
  106. Game 89: Saints Row IV - started on 19.08.2015, finished on 26.08.2015 (21:40) - best superhero game, best traversal in an open world game (eat your heart out, GTA V), highest amount of explosions per second and most fun you can have with a game not involving sexxing up other humans. I just wish the engine wasn't so optimized for past-gen consoles, the fact that it doesn't use more than 3 CPU cores is a dead giveaway (which does result in some slight fps drops in the open world, no matter the GPU you're sporting).
  107.
  108. Game 90: Remember Me - started on 26.08.2015, finished on 29.08.2015 (6:40) - I played the game last year, but done so on a Dual Core Pentium CPU, and let me tell you, UE3 does not like anything with less than three threads. The stutter then was terrible, not that a switch to an i3 remedied all problems. But at least it was sporadic and not a constant factor. Nothing much changed - amazing art design, mediocre rest. Worth it for the world vision alone, especially if you're into cyberpunk.
  109.
  110. Game 91: The Journey Down: Chapter Two - started on 29.08.2015, finished on 30.08.2015 (3:38) - really nice point and click game. Major improvement over the first chapter on all counts. Amazing, jazzy music, good locations, very good voice acting, very good puzzles. Not to long as well. Highly recommended.
  111.
  112. Game 92: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - started on 30.08.2015, finished on 05.09.2015 (16:45) - main game on Normal, two DLCs on Easy (that last boss fight on main story broke me) and then a few hours more to listen to all the Codec conversations I ignored during the main playthrough. I guess character action games just aren't really my thing - I enjoyed the spectacle, but I can't say I liked the actual gameplay. Can't imagine playing on Hard and up - that'd be just the kind of frustration I'm trying to avoid while gaming.
  113.
  114. Game 93: Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride - started on 31.08.2015, finished on 06.09.2015 (4:29) - another great Artifex Mundi game. I loved the fact that it had barely any hidden object scenes, concentrating instead on both standard adventure 'use object on object' puzzles as well as some logic ones. Lovely music, as always outstanding artwork. Highly recommended.
  115.
  116. Game 94: Mirror's Edge - started on 07.09.2015, finished on 12.09.2015 (4:59) - replay, now with fancy PhysX stuff enabled. I'ts pretty much the only FPS that is close to playable on a gamepad. Lovely aesthetic, god-awful story, some decent level design.
  117.
  118. Game 95: Grim Legends 2: Song of the Dark Swan - started on 12.09.2015, finished on 12.09.2015 (3:20) - not much new to write about here - typical high quality Artifex Mundi game. I just wish they didn't use so many sliding puzzles, I can't solve those for the life of me. Once again, highly recommended
  119.
  120. Game 96: Tomb Raider (2013) - started on 12.09.2015, finished on 15.09.2015 (9:02) - well, nothing changed much, it's just that a game that bills itself as a visual masterpiece ought to be enjoyed on something above Low quality setting. Which is what I played it last. Still too much shooting and not enough tomb raiding. :\
  121.
  122. Game 97: Ben There, Dan That! - started on 15.09.2015, finished on 15.09.2015 (1:55) - great writing, decent puzzles. Annoying music. Could do with an ability to light up all hotspots on screen - spent a quarter or so just looking at an item I've missed in one location. Well, considering it started as a freeware project, I can't really fault it a lot. Decent way to spend an evening, that's for certain.
  123.
  124. Game 98: Time Gentlemen, Please! - started on 15.09.2015, finished on 16.09.2015 (3:16) - was actually a bit too clever for its own good - some of the puzzles are clearly walkthrough material. Shades of a hint system that never got anywhere - a pity. Artwork was much better though, one of the few AGS games that use 800x600. Humour was great though. Same as the first part - decent way to spend an evening.
  125.
  126. Game 99: Lume - started on 16.09.2015, finished on 17.09.2015 (0:27) - ugh... Nice music, lovely paper-mache artwork, but the actual gameplay was pretty much non-existent. Oh well, onto greener pastures.
  127.
  128. Game 100: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - started on 17.09.2015, finished on 15.10.2015 (86:26) - I have no words, really. That's the longest I ever spent on a single game, and probably the most fun ever I had in a game. Just a perfect mix of story, gameplay and Gwent. Need to breathe a bit, and then check the xpac.
