Suzukaze: Hm!? Be careful Nishiki-san!
That lantern above your head looks like it’s going to fall!

N: Huh? No there a lantern above your head that’s falling!

S: Hi-ya!

N: Hah!

I made it somehow.

N: Phew….
I stopped it on time.

S: To think that both of us encountered danger at the same time…

N: Even though we could have protected ourselves. Without thinking we saved one another.

S: It seems that way.
I’m glad that none of us were injured.

N: Same here, thanks Suzukaze.

S: I must pay you back for saving me just then.

N: That won’t do, because I should be the one paying you back.

S: No not at all, please don’t worry.
I should be repaying you.

N: I am worrying. I can’t not repay a debt.
How about you just don’t worry about what I just did.

S: I was raised as a ninja, there is no way I wouldn’t uphold my duty.

N: Well it can’t be helped then. We have to have a show down for the best gift!

Suzukaze: Nishiki-san! Are you ready?

Nishiki: I found it Suzukaze!

This is for you Nishiki!

N: I bought you this!
A wall scroll with ninja writing on it!
Take this Suzukaze!

S: Guhhhh….

N: Grrrr…..

S: What a wonderful wall scroll.
This writing is of high calibre.
As expected of you Nishiki….

N: The gift you gave me is amazing too Suzukaze.
You so called ‘ninja’s duty’ isn’t bad either.

S: Shall we… call it a draw?

N: Yes, I think so.

S: Hehehe…

N: Hahaha….

S: Now that you think about it, it’s strange.

N: We just had a gift showdown to repay one another.
Even though it was just a way to express thanks to one another.

S: Thinking about what to give you was enjoyable.

NOTE: 恩返し (ongaishi) is a paying someone back for something that have done to help a person. The word was used a lot during the conversation but it was strange for me to keep putting the same word in over and over so I tried to change it up a bit. Most sentences should have approximately the same meaning.
