  1. * @Sadame we're likely on the airship, heading for the next area. It seems the location is somewhere along a coastal region of Africa.
  2. * @Koyo looking out, absently, at the clouds.
  3. * Onni ah, I suppose I'm accompanying you this time.
  4. * @Kai yes, it'd be awkward if you just suddenly showed up
  5. * @Kai is sitting by Koyo. at least he's well enough to actually come this time.
  6. * AlexandraGrant is off in her little corner, staring at nothing in particular. Yuzu and Gongenzaka are there too - this time, at least, they don't feel like they have to watch anybody with baseball bats at the ready.
  7. * Onni probably looking over some of the stuff -inside- the airship, fascinated.
  8. * @Koyo humming to himself idly.
  9. * @YumaTsukumo is stood by the steering wheel of the ship, looking up at the map as they near their destination.
  10. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Uhhh. Hey. Mr. Haita?
  11. <Onni> Onni's fine.
  12. * Yuya is probably stood with Yuzu and Gongenzaka
  13. <Onni> But yes?
  14. * Onni he loops up at Yuzu.
  15. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> How's Izumi doing?
  16. <Onni> Ah, our Junior Detective.
  17. <Onni> She's actually doing pretty well, all things considered. There's been an adjustment period, but she's really giving it her all.
  18. * AlexandraGrant Yuzu smiles. She's glad to hear that. She was a little afraid that Izumi was gonna half-ass it, like...well...everything else she does.
  19. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Thank you!
  20. * Yuya smiles too. It's good to hear that she's doing well.
  21. <AlexandraGrant> <Gongenzaka> *Also turning towards Onni.* You're part of the Domino police, right?
  22. <Onni> That's correct. I'm the CHief of the 'Special Investigations' Department. Or SpecInv, for short.
  23. <Onni> We handle a lot of the cases that the standard brass doesn't have the means to get an edge on.
  24. <AlexandraGrant> <Gongenzaka> I see.
  25. * AlexandraGrant Gongenzaka seems interested. Alex lets out a little snort, but says nothing, continuing to stare off into the distance.
  26. * Onni he glances for a short second at Alexandra, but returns it to Gogenzaka after a moment.
  27. <Onni> A lot of what we do is just managing a lot of the petty crimes that have a supernatural bent, due to the nature of how the 12 Dimensions 'leak' into the greater Domino area.
  28. <Onni> But we're also the one that investigates a lot of ongoing attacks that make it into the public light.
  29. * @Koyo hrm, wonders about that, idly.
  30. <@Koyo> Any idea on what alien abductions would be then. Or Men in Black.
  31. <Onni> Men in Black?
  32. <@Koyo> Men wearing black suits and sunglasses, look like G Men but report to no official branch of the government of your area that you can look up
  33. <@Koyo> Rough you up after you've seen something strange
  34. <@Kai> Do Aliens actually exist? I guess it wouldn't be weird if every other type of monster exists...
  35. <Onni> Well- you see, my knowledge isn't -quite- that comprehensive, but I've heard murmurings about dealing with Aliens before... though I'm afraid that, to my knowledge, the G-Men are a bit of a myth.
  36. <@Koyo> Go by names like Mr. Smith, Mr. Black or even Mr. Kettle or something like that.
  37. <@Koyo> Myth in so far as you know
  38. <Onni> We're certainly not beholden to any "secret agent" types at SpecInv, if that's your concern.
  39. <@Koyo> In so far as you know
  40. <Onni> ...Yes.
  41. <@Koyo> or can remember
  42. * Onni blinks.
  43. <Onni> ...Either way, due to the nature of the attacks and frequency, G-Men wouldn't be very effective in Domino, wouldn't you agree?
  44. <@Koyo> In so far as we know.
  45. <Onni> One need only look at the attack on the Momentum Reactor to see how brazen attacks can be.
  46. * @Koyo as this incredibly skeptical tone
  47. <@Koyo> I could read you a laundry list of reasons why the government would want that attack to happen
  48. <Yuya> Everything is a conspiracy~!
  49. <@Kai> I don't think we all need to hear the laundry list, Koyo...
  50. * Yuya waggles his fingers and makes a 'whoooo' spooky sound. He's not taking this conversation seriously.
  51. <@Koyo> Who says everything isn't, Sakaki.
  52. * @Koyo laughs a bit
  53. * AlexandraGrant Yuzu snickers a bit at Yuya. Alex gains a little smirk herself.
  54. * @Kai snickering himself at Yuya's actions
  55. * Onni shakes his head, grinning.
  56. * @YumaTsukumo also smirks and sniggers at Yuya
  57. * @Sadame is a spoil sport and isn't reacting, he's mostly watching the display as we quickly approach the destination.
  58. * @YumaTsukumo looks up at the display.
  59. <@YumaTsukumo> Right! I should get ready to land this thing!!
  60. <@Kai> This thing really moves fast... I wonder what limits this ship even has, when it comes to getting anywhere.
  61. <@Koyo> Probably "Do you know the location of where you want to go"
  62. <@Kai> You're thinking it might be a coordinate-based limit, if any?
  63. * @YumaTsukumo gets hold of the wheel and begins to steer it ready for landing.
  64. <Onni> If that's the case, it might even be able to traverse the 12 Dimensions.
  65. <Onni> Such a craft would be very useful.
  66. <@Kai> It's what I'm thinking... course, it means we'd have to know exactly where any of that is.
  67. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> I dunno if we should use it too much except for going after the Numbers...I think we're lucky we haven't really made some foreign government mad already.
  68. <Onni> Ha ha... you're probably right.
  69. <@Koyo> Well, it's flying to these places based on coordinates
  70. <@Koyo> so it being coordinate limited makes sense
  71. <@Koyo> Need an origin point and probably six factors in say, a cube.
  72. * @Sadame as Yuma lands, you catch a glimpse of where you've arrived-- a ruined fortress-city, completely deserted-- though the fortress itself seems to be in pretty good shape, almost perserved.
  73. <@Koyo> We probably have made a foreign government mad already
  74. * @YumaTsukumo The landing is a little rough, but much better than his previous landings. He's getting better at handling the manual steering of the airship.
  75. * @Sadame good. You're improving. ... it's weird to be thinking positively of that, given the situation.
  76. <@YumaTsukumo> Alright! We should go and check this place out!
  77. * @Kai gets up.
  78. * AlexandraGrant gets up and heads for the exit.
  79. <AlexandraGrant> <Gongenzaka> After last time...do you think the Barians will show up to fight us again?
  80. <@Sadame> ... If they do not, what should be done, exactly?
  81. <@Koyo> ,,, I'll fight, then.
  82. <AlexandraGrant> We'll have to duel for it ourselves.
  83. <AlexandraGrant> I dunno if it has to be a real duel or not. But somebody can just immediately surrender.
  84. <Onni> They're probably thinking the same of us.
  85. <@Kai> You'll fight? Well, if you do it, I'll do it. We can duel each other in that kinda case. Might be fun!
  86. <Onni> ...If someone needs an opponent, I also came prepared.
  87. * @Sadame nodding a little
  88. * Onni his eyes linger on Alex for a moment, before moving.
  89. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> That should work! The only reason they couldn't take it themselves last time was 'cause they needed four people... <Gongenzaka> Yeah. We were lucky in that case that they only sent two.
  90. <@Sadame> ... It has been a little strange, though...
  91. * @Sadame thinking again to himself
  92. <Onni> Something on your mine, Sadame?
  93. <Yuya> Strange?
  94. * Onni mind
  95. <@Koyo> Hrm, Professor?
  96. <@Sadame> ... It's just something that's struck me as a little odd... But hasn't it seemed a bit convenient, that they've been showing up before us, but don't seem to have the ability to organize getting the card themselves?
  97. <Onni> If they're waiting on us then, having to duel each other probably doesn't work. There's probably some sort of catch.
  98. <@Sadame> ... It is what I am wondering.
  99. <@Sadame> But... I feel like there is something else...
  100. <@YumaTsukumo> Well, we won't figure it out standing around!
  101. <Onni> ...Yuma's right.
  102. <@Sadame> ... Right.
  103. <@YumaTsukumo> We should find where this Legendary Number is and then figure things out from there!
  104. <Onni> Best way to find out is to get into the thick of it.
  105. <Yuya> Right!
  106. * Onni stretches.
  107. <AlexandraGrant> ...mmn.
  108. * AlexandraGrant sniffs the air a few times....then brings her hand up to her nose.
  109. <AlexandraGrant> ...Galaxy-Eyes says one of you needs to cut back on the hair gel.
  110. <AlexandraGrant> I'm gonna go look over there.
  111. * Onni his face scruches up a bit. Squinting.
  112. <@YumaTsukumo> Right! Let's all look around this place then!
  113. <Onni> I'm gonna check the fortress. It looks pretty intact, might be something there.
  114. * AlexandraGrant walks off into the fortress city on herown.
  115. * Onni ...stares at you as you leave, Alexandra.
  116. * Onni lets out a little 'tch' noise and starts to walk.
  117. <@Sadame> ... I will examine the city, as well. The most obvious location is likely the castle... But we should try to cover enough ground. Please try to contact each other if we find anything.
  118. * Yuya ... is it me, or is there some tension I'm sensing here. Yuya looks between the two a little uncomfortably.
  119. <Onni> Right, of course.
  120. <@YumaTsukumo> Right!
  121. <@Kai> I'm going to go to the fortress. Koyo, you going to come too?
  122. <@Koyo> Yes.
  123. <@Koyo> I will
  124. * @Koyo nods
  125. * @Koyo staring at the fortress as if a bit lost, mentally
  126. <Onni> Then that'll be the three of us, then.
  127. <Onni> Shall we?
  128. <@Kai> Right then!
  129. <@YumaTsukumo> Guess the rest of us can explore the city part. There's a lot to the ruins there so we'll probably need a bigger search team for that!
  130. * @Sadame going off into the city himself, though in a different direction from Alexandra's path. It'll be fine.
  131. <Onni> Sounds pretty likely.
  132. <Onni> If you find anything interesting, let everyone else know.
  133. <@YumaTsukumo> Right!
  134. * Onni starts to head towards the fortress, beckoning to Kai and Koyo.
  135. <Onni> C'mon, we're burning daylight.
  136. * @YumaTsukumo heads off towards the city, as does Yuya.
  137. * @Kai following after. ... ... using a hand to help guide Koyo though since he seems out of it.
  138. * @Koyo it's not terribly out of it, but he keeps having this deja vu feeling, second guessing.
  139. * AlexandraGrant Yuzu and Gongenzaka go off with Yuya and Yuma.
  140. * AlexandraGrant meanwhile, is off on her own, looking around the city.
  141. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> ...you're irritated. <Alex> Yup. <Galaxy-Eyes> About him. <Alex> Yup.
  142. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> Do you want to talk about it? <Alex> Nope.
  143. * @Kai the city itself is in pretty bad shape, but... not even animals seem to be around. It's so strange.
  144. * @Kai not even a stray insect.
  145. <Onni> ...It's way too quiet. You'd think there'd at least be bugs around...
  146. * @Kai you don't smell anything weird, and nothing even seems to be wrong, other than the fact that they're ruins.
  147. * @Kai the fortress, as Onni, Koyo, and Kai approach it though, is even weirder.
  148. * @Kai it's in impeccable condition, if otherwise untouched and dusty, compared to the city.
  149. <@Koyo> Thing is, officer, we haven't really found life in any other of these places
  150. * @Kai some plantlife is growing around and on the walls, but otherwise...
  151. <@Koyo> Well, plants, but animal life? Not a hide nor hair
  152. <@Kai> Do you think maybe that Legendary Number drives living things away?
  153. <Onni> It's not impossible.
  154. <@Koyo> Would make sense
  155. <Onni> If these things are as powerful as it seems, even dormant, they'd drive off creatures more 'in tune' with nature than man is.
  156. <Onni> Though... this fortress...
  157. <Onni> That's even harder to explain.
  158. <@Kai> It's pretty in-tact.
  159. * Onni he rubs his chin, eyes narrowed.
  160. <Onni> Yeah. Almost untouched, you'd say.
  161. * AlexandraGrant how much vegetation is there?
  162. <Onni> Even the best-kept castles have some sort of wear, wind, water from rainstorms, that goes doubly so for such a humid environment...
  163. * @Kai a pretty good amount. You can tell it's been decades-- maybe even centuries-- since this area was last inhabited.
  164. * @Kai it sustains life, but not animal life.
  165. * Onni let's look for an entrance into the fortress.
  166. <@Koyo> ... That's the thing too
  167. <@Koyo> The previous places we've been to?
  168. <@Koyo> No wear or tear despite seemingly lost to the world.
  169. <Onni> ...
  170. <Onni> Interesting.
  171. <AlexandraGrant> ...what do you make of how deserted this place is? <Galaxy-Eyes> ...our battle with Labrys demonstrated that the Numbers warp the fabric of the space around them.
  172. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> They may dissuade life from coming to close. To prevent interference. <Alex> If they were never s'posed to be moved...that'd make sense.
  173. * @Kai there's actually quite a few doors to the castle-- though with how good this place looks, many of them are likely locked. One of them seems to be ajar though.
  174. * Onni he tries a few doors, and one he seems to back up and contemplate just breaking down - before he catches the one slightly ajar.
  175. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> They've also typically been hidden rather in plain sight. In the most visible place...this one is probably somewhere in that fortress. Not hidden amongst this ruined city.
  176. * AlexandraGrant frowns a little. She doesn't respond to that. Galaxy-Eyes doesn't push it.
  177. <Onni> Ah, here we go...
  178. * Onni let's pull that door open.
  179. * @Kai there's definitely dust-- it makes you cough. Kai has to clear his throat himself, covering his mouth.
  180. * @Koyo the same, ugggh
  181. * @Kai but, the door opens up into one of the hallways of the fortress. The air seems thick.
  182. * Onni coughs a couple times, pulling up a part of his shirt to cover his mouth.
  183. <Onni> Well... it certainly doesn't lack for dust...
  184. * @Kai you almost can't really tell which way you should go... ... though Kai seems to think for a moment, and starts to wander down the hallway, to the right.
  185. <Onni> Hmm?
  186. <Onni> This another intuition given by the other places you've been to?
  187. <@Kai> ... nah, I've just... got kinda a hunch.
  188. * @Kai keeping his mouth covered though
  189. <Onni> Gut feelin', huh? Well, don't let me stop you.
  190. * Onni following behind, looking around.
  191. * @Kai is gonna lead then. Though Koyo is more likely to notice that as the three of them walk along, Kai seems to be a little unsteady. Not enough that he seems to be in trouble of falling, but... it makes you think. Otherwise, the castle seems to be very well-built and sturdy, and Kai eventually leads into a foyer-- with doors leading to a main hall area.
  192. * @Koyo ... ... Mmm
  193. <Onni> Ah, ok, this looks right...
  194. <Onni> The main hall would be just ahead, right?
  195. <@Kai> I'd think? I'm not really sure how places like this would be set up... *... so he really was just guessing, here.*
  196. * Onni ...chuckles a bit.
  197. <@Kai> ... but I guess if I were a Legendary Number, I'd be in a central spot.
  198. <Onni> You wouldn't make a half-bad detective.
  199. * @Kai he laughs a bit, rubbing his head.
  200. <Onni> Yeah, the main hall of the castle should be up ahead. If you're thinking the Legendary Number should be in a central spot...
  201. <Onni> ...It's likely going to be up ahead.
  202. <@Koyo> Well they have been in same major chamber
  203. <@Koyo> Hrm
  204. <@Kai> What're we waiting for, then? Let's go
  205. * @Kai goes to push open the door to the main hall
  206. * @Kai so, the major thing you notice is that the main hall is pretty big. There's a table at the end, with dusty maps and papers-- likely strategy plannings for the fortress. But there's also something... hung up on the wall, covered by a curtain... but what's most eye-catching is.
  207. * @Failnaught there's a man, here.
  208. * Onni his breath catches.
  209. * @Failnaught a man with greenish-black hair, wearing a cloak, staring up at the covered object.
  210. <Onni> ...Hey.
  211. <@Koyo> ... ::Eyes lock onto you, mysterious man.::
  212. * @Failnaught ... he turns around, staring with a sharp eye-- his hair seems to naturally fall to cover one of them.
  213. * Onni his eyes narrow.
  214. <@Failnaught> I've been waiting.
  215. <Onni> And you knew we'd show. Just like we knew you were going to be here already.
  216. <@Failnaught> We met each other's expectations, then. Though you don't seem to be any of the ones who were described to me... doesn't matter.
  217. <Onni> Consider me an "honored special guest."
  218. <Onni> Though considering the pattern, I'm guessing there's a catch as to the fact that you couldn't just duel one of the other Barians for the card. At least, that's what I'd been theorizing.
  219. <@Failnaught> The only "catch" in this case is that I'm the only one who was willingly available.
  220. <@Koyo> Hrm, I wonder if that's the pattern... ::Rubs chin::
  221. * @Kai willingly? Hnmm...
  222. * @Kai ... he gets out his duel pad though to message the others
  223. * @Kai looking a little... wobbly, actually. just a little.
  224. * Onni ...he takes a look at you Kai. Not saying anything, but he's. Noticed.
  225. * @Kai sends a message to as many of them as he can. "Found the Barian. In the main hall of the fortress."
  226. <@Failnaught> Still, you already know what has to be done, right?
  227. <Onni> We've got to duel you for it, yeah?
  228. * @YumaTsukumo recieves the message as he's looking around one of the city ruins. He runs out of them to where Yuya and the others are. "We gotta get to the fortress!"
  229. <@Failnaught> *he nods* If you know that, then let's get it over with.
  230. * Onni ...he looks at Kai, looks over at Koyo. He can hear a phrase ring in his head.
  231. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Did they find the Number?!
  232. * Onni 'You could have at least tried to do a Battle Royale duel, or something!'
  233. * Onni ...he takes a step forward.
  234. * @Failnaught throws out his arm, as a mechanical-looking disk appears there, gold, silver, with green linings.
  235. <@Failnaught> You're the challenger? I guess that's expected, since one of your number looks to be ill.
  236. * @Kai ... is it that obvious. damnit.
  237. <Onni> Yeah, that's right.
  238. * Onni holds out his arm, as an old-school duel disk lights up and folds out on his arm.
  239. * @YumaTsukumo nods! "Yeah! They're in the main hall of the fortress! One of the barians is there too!"
  240. <@Failnaught> ... fine. I'll let you take the first move. The quicker this is resolved, the better.
  241. * @Failnaught not one to want to linger, huh
  242. <Onni> Hmph.
  243. <Onni> Want to be in and out here quick, do you?
  244. <Onni> Fine, I guess I can oblige.
  245. <Onni> DUEL! [8000 LP]
  246. <@Failnaught> Duel. [8000 LP]
  247. * @Kai is keeping back. ergh, I gotta get ahold of myself... why do I keep getting sick around these things...?
  248. <Onni> I move first, so here goes.
  249. <Onni> I activate the card Six Samurai United!
  250. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> ...are you going. <Alex> ....hrn.
  251. * AlexandraGrant stays out in the city. For the moment.
  252. * @Koyo why do I keep spacing out, myself.
  253. * @Koyo why do I keep spacing out, myself.
  254. <Onni> Next, I'll suppon the Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki!
  255. * Onni summon.
  256. <@Koyo> ... Six Samurai? That's kind of old school.
  257. <Onni> Hey, don't disrepect the classics.
  258. <Onni> Kageki's effect lets me Special Summon a level 4 or lower Six Samurai from my hand! I Special Summon Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi!
  259. * Onni a samurai with two robot hands coming out of his back and another with a glowing-edged katana in full bodyt armor storm the field. (200 ATK) (1700 ATK)
  260. <Onni> Kageki's effect means that, when there's another Six Samurai on the field, its attack increases by 1500!
  261. <Onni> (1700 ATK)
  262. <Onni> With that done, I'll send Six Samurai United to the grave. It lets me draw up to 2 cards for each Six Samurai I normal or special summoned.
  263. <Onni> ...And then I'll set aa card, ending my turn.
  264. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  265. * @Failnaught draws his card, adding it to his hand-- and immediately grabs a different one
  266. <@Failnaught> Mystical Space Typhoon.
  267. <Onni> Gh-
  268. * @Failnaught well there goes your set card, the wind whipping up
  269. * Onni Battleguard Howling flips up momentarily, before it shatters.
  270. <@Failnaught> Fire Formation - Tenki. I add the monster, Bujin Hirume.
  271. * Onni 'Bujins...?'
  272. * Onni his eyes seem to light up a bit.
  273. <@Failnaught> Summoning, Bujin Yamato. *the monster with a vague resemblence to a certain owlhead appears.* (1800 > 1900 ATK due to Tenki)
  274. * Onni 'The resemblance is kind of uncanny...'
  275. <@Failnaught> Yamato, attack Enishi. *Yamato assumes an aggressive stance, going and upper-cutting Enishi*
  276. <Onni> Enishi tries to dodge out of the way, but he's punched out. (7800 LP)
  277. * Onni hi tries to dodge out of the way, but he's punched out. (7800 LP)
  278. <@Failnaught> I set one card, and enter the end phase. Yamato, if you will.
  279. * @Failnaught he addresses Yamato pretty... respectfully, actually, despite his curt way of putting his moves.
  280. * Onni ...he stares, rather surprised.
  281. * @Failnaught Yamato nods, holding out his hand, as a card appears in it-- Bujingi Hare.
  282. <@Failnaught> To the graveyard. *Yamato closes his hand, as the card vanishes into motes*
  283. <@Failnaught> My turn is over.
  284. <@YumaTsukumo> ONNI! KAI! KOYO!!
  285. * @Kai turns to look. a little pale, but he's trying to not look it.
  286. <Onni> Yuma!
  287. <@Kai> Ah, hey...!
  288. * @YumaTsukumo as Failnaught's turn ends, Yuma runs into the room, closely followed by Yuya.
  289. * Onni he's not turning around, but he is glancing back as he draws.
  290. * @Kai Sadame is following in too, having caught up
  291. <@Koyo> ... Hello.
  292. <@Koyo> The officer's fighting this time.
  293. * @YumaTsukumo joins them and nods. "Alright!"
  294. * @Failnaught looks at the entering individuals. ... ... spiked, pink hair, golden pendant... ... that must be one of them.
  295. * @Failnaught and the other... ... but there's another one that was described...
  296. <Onni> I summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai.
  297. * Yuya , on the other hand, glances over to Kai, noticing that he looks a little pale. "Hey, are you okay?"
  298. * Onni an armored warrior with red flowing hair and a green outfit appears, and immediately starts to glow.
  299. <@Kai> Y-yeah, I'm fine. I think the dust is getting to me, that's all.
  300. * @Kai totally waving it off
  301. <Onni> I'm Tuning my level 2 Kagemusha with the Level 3 Kageki!
  302. <@Koyo> Yeah, who knows what germs if any are here and the weather's probably getting to us too...
  303. <Onni> Synchro Summon! The Great Shogun, in his heyday of glory and conquest!
  304. <Onni> Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En!
  305. <@Koyo> Shi En, that's probably one of the most dangerous monsters in Duel Monsters available to normal Duelists.
  306. * Onni an armored warlord takes the field, holding out a large katana and gripping it tightly. (2500)
  307. <Onni> Next, I'll activate the spell card Solidarity!
  308. <Onni> If I have only one type of monster in my Grave, all monsters with the same type gain 800 attack...
  309. <Onni> and there's not a single monster in my deck that isn't a Warrior-type!
  310. <Onni> (2500 ATK > 3300 ATK)
  311. <@Koyo> ... That's an oldie I haven't seen since Xyz became commonplace.
  312. * Onni grimaces. Jeez, he's not that old...!
  313. <Onni> Battle Phase!
  314. * @Failnaught Yamato steps back, but he puts his arms up to defend himself head-on
  315. <@Failnaught> At the start of the battle phase.
  316. <Onni> Eh...?
  317. <@Failnaught> I banish Bujingi Hare from my graveyard, to select Yamato. Yamato cannot be destroyed once this turn, by battle or by effects.
  318. <Onni> Ah... I see...
  319. * @Koyo Onni, to teenagers, you're an old geezer
  320. <Onni> but it doesn't negate Battle Damage. Therefore, Shi En still attacks Yamato!
  321. * @Failnaught Yamato faces the danger!
  322. * Onni Shi En rushes forward, bringing the katan down on Yamato from overhead.
  323. * @Failnaught slashes through, but Bujingi Hare's aura surrounds Yamato, protecting him from the major damage
  324. <@Failnaught> [6600 LP]
  325. <Onni> ...
  326. <Onni> Hm.
  327. * Onni his brow is furrowed at you, as he looks at his hand.
  328. <Onni> ...I'll set a card. My turn ends there.
  329. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  330. <@Failnaught> Normal summon, Bujin Mikazuchi. (1900 > 2000 ATK) *the Thunder-like monster appears next to Yamato* Yamato, Mikazuchi. I'm going to overlay you, now.
  331. * @Failnaught they both nod to each other, as the Overlay Network is formed
  332. * Onni he seems very. Searching, in Failnaught as he says that.
  333. <@Failnaught> The level 4 Mikazuchi, and the level 4 Yamato... XYZ summon, the paladin of the stars, Starliege Paladynamo. (2000 ATK)
  334. <Onni> Starliege Paladynamo... eugh...
  335. * @Failnaught Yamato and Mikazuchi overlay into a white-armored warrior with a crystal-sword, the two orbs of their spirits surrounding him.
  336. <@Failnaught> I detach the materials that are Yamato and Mikazuchi. The wills of Yamato and Mikazuchi will reduce your Shi En's ATK to 0, and negate his effect.
  337. * @Failnaught the orbs go into Paladynamo's sword, which glows as he slashes
  338. <Onni> Yeah, I was afraid of that...
  339. * Onni Shi En's katana breaks in half, as he knees on the ground, weak. (0 ATK)
  340. <@Failnaught> I banish Mikazuchi from my graveyard to allow Bujin Hirume to take to the field. *he places down the card, as Hirume appears on the field, a light seemingly shining around her. (2000 > 2100 ATK)*
  341. <@Failnaught> Starliege Paladynamo attacks Shi En.
  342. * @Failnaught Paladynamo goes in for the kill
  343. * Onni ...he takes a step back, as Hirume hits the field. But as Paladynamo moves, he snaps out of it.
  344. <Onni> Trap card activate, Half Or Nothing!
  345. <Onni> Either halves the attacks of all your monsters this turn, or skip your Battle Phase.
  346. <@Failnaught> I halve.
  347. * @Failnaught (2000 > 1000) | (2100 > 1050)
  348. * @Failnaught Paladynamo slices through regardless
  349. * Onni Shi En is cut down. (6800 LP)
  350. <@Failnaught> Hirume, please.
  351. * @Failnaught Hirume makes the light shine on Onni, painfully
  352. * Onni this hurts me in ways you cannot even begin to imagine.
  353. <Onni> (5750 LP)
  354. <@Failnaught> I finish my turn. *the ATK scores all revert*
  355. <Onni> Heh... alright...
  356. <Onni> cut the crap.
  357. <Onni> What do you know about them?
  358. <@Failnaught> ... What do you mean?
  359. <Onni> The Bujins.
  360. <Onni> You aren't using this deck for stylistic purposes, that's for damn sure.
  361. <Onni> What's the connection?
  362. <@Failnaught> ... You have your turn to do. *... so he's not going to talk yet, is he.*
  363. <Onni> Tch. Tough customer, eh...
  364. * Onni 'He knows something, and if that's the case... maybe he can tell me about the spear, or why their world was destroyed... or even how I can help Amaterasu.'
  365. <Onni> Draw.
  366. <Onni> I summon Hand of the Six Samurai.
  367. <Onni> Because Solidarity is still on the field, her attack is increased above Starleige Paladynamo!
  368. * Onni assassin lady in robes, wielding a knife. (1600 > 2400 ATK)
  369. <Onni> Hand attacks Paladynamo!
  370. * Onni the lady rushes at the paladin, ducking down and swinging her knife.
  371. * @Failnaught Paladynamo is assassinated
  372. <@Failnaught> [6200 LP]
  373. <Onni> Turn end.
  374. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  375. <@Failnaught> I summon Bujingi Quilin. (1600 ATK) *so. what appears is a unicorn. but take that unicorn, and give it a sword for a horn instead. that's Quilin.*
  376. <@Failnaught> Hirume, I'm going to overlay with you, if you don't mind. *she nods, going over to Quilin, lightly beckoning it. The Overlay Network is formed when Quilin bounds over to her.*
  377. * Onni 'irume and Quilin, that means that the monster coming out is...'
  378. <@Failnaught> Overlay the Level 4 Hirume and the Level 4 Quilin. XYZ summon, the glowing warrior, Bujintei Susanowo.
  379. * @Failnaught the two monsters overlay to form the red-armored warrior, an aura of light surrounding them. (2400 > 2500 ATK)
  380. * Onni '...I have a theory...'
  381. <@Failnaught> I detach Quilin. I select the Bujingi Centipede in my deck, and send it to the graveyard. ... And then I proceed to banish it, to destroy your Solidarity.
  382. * @Failnaught a ghostly image of the Centipede forms from one of the orbs of light, who then goes about eating your Solidarity, before vanishing.
  383. * Onni it gets nommed. Hand's attack drops. (2400 > 1600 ATK)
  384. <Onni> Tch...
  385. <@Failnaught> I attack your Hand of the Six Samurai. *Susanowo SLASHES through without mercy*
  386. * Onni winces, as Hand puts up a paltry defense to getting cleaved through.
  387. <Onni> [4850 LP]
  388. <@Failnaught> My turn is over.
  389. <Onni> ...Draw.
  390. * Onni 'Shit, this isn't good... I'm running out of options here...'
  391. <@Kai> ... he seems kinda like... he's managing to find an answer for everything he's putting out.
  392. <Onni> ...Answer me a question, Mister Barian.
  393. <Onni> You don't deck Bujinki Amaterasu, do you?
  394. * Onni looking at your face, searching for something there.
  395. <@Failnaught> *... his visible eye narrows a little* I don't think I'm obligated to give you the details of my deck, while we're in the middle of a duel.
  396. <Onni> It's more than that.
  397. <Onni> You don't treat them like a deck you just pulled out on a whim.
  398. <Onni> You treat as if they're people, that you've known for a long time.
  399. <@Failnaught> I hold respect towards them. Do humans find that unusual?
  400. <Onni> I find it curious.
  401. <Onni> Which is why I asked if you decked Amaterasu.
  402. <Onni> Because if you don't, then I'd be right in suspecting...
  403. <Onni> ...You knew what happened to her. To Hirume, and the rest of the Bujins.
  404. <@Failnaught> ... We're in the middle of a battle.
  405. * AlexandraGrant ([email protected]) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
  406. <Onni> Good grief, dodging the question again.
  407. <Onni> Fine, I'll just talk during your turn, instead.
  408. <Onni> I set one monster, and end my turn.
  409. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  410. <Onni> ...Their world is gone, you know.
  411. * @Failnaught ...
  412. <@Failnaught> Gone?
  413. <@Koyo> Eh...?
  414. <@Koyo> What do you mean "Gone"?
  415. <Onni> Gone.
  416. <Onni> Destroyed.
  417. <Onni> I saw it with my own two eyes, while I was looking for any leads that might clue me into the truth.
  418. <Onni> Something huge showed up... and destroyed the whole world. We only barely escaped.
  419. <Onni> The only things we managed to grab were a spear, and a note no one can decipher.
  420. <Onni> Everything else is...
  421. * Onni ...he leaves the sentence unfinished, turning his head and breaking eye contact.
  422. <Onni> I could feel how much blood had been spilt there.
  423. <@Failnaught> ... I was unaware that it was entirely destroyed. I detach the material of Hirume, to add a new Bujin Hirume to my hand.
  424. <Onni> It only happened recently.
  425. <Onni> Bujinki Amaterasu. She'd been here.
  426. <Onni> but now she's fled into the Ettosyleit.
  427. <Onni> Consumed by the remains of Number 96.
  428. <@Failnaught> ... I attack your set monster with Susanowo.
  429. * @Failnaught sword right through the card
  430. * Onni Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades pops up, trying to defend himself - but quickly is cut down.
  431. <@Failnaught> Main phase 2. I send the Bujingi Peacock from my hand to add Bujin Yamato. I summon him. *Owlhead expy is back. (1800 > 1900 ATK)*
  432. <@Failnaught> I enter the end phase.
  433. * @Failnaught Yamato makes a Bujin Mikazuchi appear in his hand
  434. <@Failnaught> I will add that, Yamato.
  435. * @Failnaught it teleports to Failnaught's hand, as he discards a Bujinunity.
  436. <Onni> ...
  437. <Onni> Nothing?
  438. <Onni> Not even after all that?
  439. <@Failnaught> I'm not here for discussions. ... I heard nothing, however, about the one you call Bujinki Amaterasu fleeing to Ettosyleit.
  440. <Onni> It happened recently, when the demons attacked.
  441. <@Failnaught> You mean the incident that Labrys addressed.
  442. <Onni> Labrys was there. She's the one you answer to, yeah?
  443. <Onni> Yeah.
  444. <@Failnaught> I do not answer to her.
  445. <Onni> ...No. I guess you don't.
  446. <@Failnaught> None of us answer to each other.
  447. <@Failnaught> We are allies. Not subjects.
  448. <Onni> Explains why one of your number nearly put Yuma and Yuya through the floor.
  449. * Onni he kind of spits that part out.<@Koyo> Three...?
  450. <@Failnaught> Yuma and Yuya... Are they the ones who Labrys described to me? *he looks over at Yuma and Yuya, guessing that it's them by their physical looks*
  451. <Onni> Yeah, that's them. Apparently one of your 'allies' mucked them up real bad, recently.
  452. <@Failnaught> I'm aware. After all, I'm the one who informed Labrys of Caduceus's leaving.
  453. <Onni> So why'd he do it.
  454. <@Failnaught> He?
  455. <Onni> She.
  456. <Onni> I wasn't there... I heard the story secondhand.
  457. <Onni> Kind of got me a little pissed, to be frank.
  458. <@Failnaught> I would only know as much as you do. Caduceus is secretive. All I knew is that she had left of her own accord. The last time someone of ours left without saying anything, the consequences were dire.
  459. <@Koyo> In what sense
  460. <@Failnaught> ... Three of our number were lost, thanks to that.
  461. * @Koyo the more you keep mentioning Amaterasu and the Bujins and Caduceus... he sits down, holding his head.
  462. <@Koyo> Three...?
  463. <Onni> So you're failing to take responsibility for one of your own going rogue and attacked people who want nothing but to try and help?
  464. <Onni> Sounds kinda shitty.
  465. <@Failnaught> Far as I am aware, Labrys took it upon herself to take responsibility for Caduceus's actions.
  466. <@YumaTsukumo> A-ah,,,! Onni! It's fine! It was made clear that Barian was working on her own!
  467. <@Failnaught> You are ignoring her will or efforts?
  468. <@YumaTsukumo> And Labrys apologized!
  469. <Onni> That doesn't make it okay!
  470. * Onni snaps, it's unclear if he's snapping at Yuma or Failnaught.
  471. <Onni> I get it, yeah? Desperate times, desperate measures? But we're doing all we can to try and help, and yet things just keep getting worse and worse!
  472. <Onni> And half the time we don't learn a single scrap of info for our troubles!
  473. <Onni> Maybe this would be over already if you'd just come to us and explain the whole situation instead of dance around back and forth with us in some stupid cross-continental chase!
  474. * @Failnaught ... is just staring at you, his gaze cold
  475. * Onni locks eyes with you, treet gritted in frustration.
  476. <Yuya> ... I don't like where this is going...
  477. <@Kai> Y-yeah... *... s-sitting down too, next to Koyo. Standing really isn't that good right now.*
  478. <Onni> It's not like we're not sticking our necks out for you, either. People have gotten hurt because of this.
  479. <Onni> A lot of people.
  480. <@Failnaught> Then stop. *he says that clearly, consisely. like an arrow striking.*
  481. <Onni> No.
  482. * Onni rebuffs, like that arrow hits a solid wall.
  483. <Yuya> H-Hey, c'mon now, I think everyone should calm down. I'm sure this can be resolved peacefully somehow! Right?
  484. <Onni> We're here because we -want- to help.
  485. <@Failnaught> ... You are the one who is named "Yuya", correct?
  486. * @Failnaught his gaze shifts over to Yuya, breaking eye-contact with Onni
  487. * Yuya nods. "Yes. I am."
  488. * Onni holds his tongue, letting Yuya speak.
  489. <@Failnaught> ... You are one of the ones who was actually wronged by Caduceus's actions. I apologize, but I would prefer you not assume that we have control over each other, or absolutely determine each other's actions. We are a team, but we are individuals.
  490. <@Failnaught> And the last thing we need is for allies to throw around accusations of what we can do, and what we can't do.
  491. <Yuya> Yuma and I don't think that! We don't blame you, or Labrys or any of the other Barians for that. Like Yuma said, it was obvious the other Barian was working on her own after Labrys intervened and after she talked to us!
  492. <Yuya> She gave us her apology and we accepted it with no hard feelings!
  493. <@Failnaught> And yet this one... Seems to feel he can speak for you. *turns to gaze back at Onni* Why is that? Why do you feel you should speak for the ones who were wronged?
  494. <Onni> ...Because even if you didn't apologize. Even if you never thought once of apologizing for your teammate, they'd still forgive you.
  495. <Onni> They still wouldn't blame you.
  496. <Onni> Not once.
  497. <Onni> Because that's the kind of people Yuma and Yuya are.
  498. <@Failnaught> So you decide, of your own perogative, that you will blame in their place.
  499. <@Failnaught> That is your choice as an individual. They can't control your actions.
  500. <@Failnaught> I am an individual. And you can't control if I will give you the "information" you desire.
  501. <Onni> ...
  502. <@Failnaught> I will choose it.
  503. <Onni> Then you're no better than Judgeman. Just another person who excuses away all the awful shit that's happened here with "I'm sorry" "It's not my choice" "I'm just an individual".
  504. <Onni> Despite talking so much of being a team, you're just a rabble doing whatever to whoever to survive.
  505. <Onni> And I'm tired of people who refuse to explain what's going on in plain-simple terms.
  506. <@Failnaught> Then there is no reason to speak to you as a potential ally. Continue, or surrender.
  507. <Onni> Surrender's not an option.
  508. <Onni> So if I can't try and talk an answer out of you... I guess there's no other option.
  509. <Onni> You're a Barian, so that means you probably have a Number, to boot.
  510. <Onni> I really didn't want to do this... but I've run out of options.
  511. <Onni> DRAW!
  512. <Onni> I activate SIx Samurai United!
  513. * Yuya just watches on, looking uncomfortable.
  514. <Onni> And then...
  515. <Onni> I activate Soul Charge!
  516. <Onni> I can special summon any number of monsters from my grave, paying 1000 Life Points for each!
  517. <Onni> I revive Thousand Blades, and Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi!
  518. <Onni> (4850 > 2850)
  519. <Onni> I sac Six Samurai United, to draw one card...
  520. <Onni> ...
  521. <Onni> And I activate Reinforcement of the Army!
  522. <Onni> I add to my hand, then immediately summon - Heroic Challenger Extra Sword!
  523. * Onni the heavy lance-wielding knight and the full-armored Samurai are joined by a dual-sword wielding figure.
  524. * Onni as Onni stands back, closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath.
  525. <Onni> ...Right. I shouldn't be getting mad here. He wouldn't want me to be angry....
  526. <Onni> ...I construct the Overlay Network.
  527. <Onni> Honorable warrior, imprisioned within, cast forth the spear of triumph once more, and join my side!
  528. * Onni Extra Sword, Enishi, and Thousand Blades vanish, as a vortex opens up.
  529. <Onni> Join me, my companion! XYZ SUMMON!
  530. <Onni> Number 86!
  531. <Onni> Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad!
  532. * @Failnaught ... ! That's the first expression you've really seen out of him.
  533. * @Failnaught http://v.dreamwidth.org/9621382/2450866 like this
  534. * AlexandraGrant is back out in the city, crouched against a wall. She flinches, slightly. Galaxy-Eyes lets out a low growl.
  535. <AlexandraGrant> ... ... hnnn.
  536. * Onni a towering warrior strides out, armoed head-to-toe in white, carrying a golden spear as three orbs of light circle around him.
  537. <Onni> Number 86 gains effects for how many XYZ materials he has.
  538. <@Failnaught> ... so you were branded...
  539. * Onni nods, holding up his hand. You can see the faint glow of a stylized '86' on his palm.
  540. <Yuya> Branded...?
  541. <Onni> Rhongomyniad gaints 1500 ATK, and cannot be destroyed by battle, or affected by any other card on the field.
  542. <@Failnaught> ... Rhongomyniad. Do you recognize my voice? It's I, Failnaught. *well, that's actually a bunch of new information right in one sentence.*
  543. <@YumaTsukumo> He... knows that Number?
  544. <Onni> Rhongomyniad!?
  545. * Onni Rhongomyniad turns, to look at you, Failnaught. You can almost see his brow furrowing, in something not unlike confusion.
  546. <@Failnaught> ... I suppose not... I guess they made sure to wipe your memory away, when they captured you... But I'm glad to know you weren't killed as a result.
  547. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> I... You are familiar, your voice, but...
  548. * Onni ...he shakes his head, as if trying to shake something off.
  549. <AlexandraGrant> 'They' wiped his memory...
  550. <@YumaTsukumo> Wiped his memory away...? Do... do you mean the Astrals, at all?!
  551. <AlexandraGrant> ...you're talking about the Astrals, right?
  552. * AlexandraGrant hey look, it's Alex.
  553. <@YumaTsukumo> Alex!
  554. * @Failnaught ... oh. this is the third one Labrys mentioned specifically.
  555. <@Failnaught> ... That's correct.
  556. * Onni if Onni noticed Alex showing up, he sure isn't acknowledging it.
  557. <Onni> The Astrals, huh...?
  558. <Onni> And they're the same ones who cause you all such grief, that's right?
  559. <@Failnaught> That is correct. *he looks up at Rhongomyniad.* ... I'm sorry, that your involvement before has gotten you into this predicament.
  560. <@YumaTsukumo> Was he one of the ones who tried to help you before?
  561. <@Failnaught> One of many.
  562. <@Failnaught> He's one who helped us, but at great personal loss.
  563. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...
  564. <@Failnaught> It weighed heavily upon his mind, but he felt his choice before was correct. ... I only wish that it wouldn't have extended upon that.
  565. <Onni> ...
  566. * Onni he looks up at Rhongomyniad.
  567. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...My memory is hazy, though I do remember my imprisonment- and the feeling of regret that was upon me.
  568. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...I'm afraid before that, much of it is... muddled, intentionally, as you may claim.
  569. <Onni> So he... did what he thought was right, then, in helping you.
  570. <@Failnaught> At the least, you seem unchanged... a welcome sight.
  571. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> My memory may be fragment, but my spirit remains whole.
  572. <@YumaTsukumo> ...maybe this is what happened to Hope too... the memory loss and the fact that the Astrals are a familiar name to him... it fits...
  573. <@Failnaught> You may count yourself fortunate in that aspect.
  574. * @Failnaught ... Hope?
  575. * @YumaTsukumo looks at Failnaught
  576. <Onni> ...It's not out of the question, Yuma.
  577. * @Failnaught is kinda giving you a look, Yuma. But then he focuses himself again at Onni.
  578. <@YumaTsukumo> Did you ever get help from a monster named Hope?
  579. <@Failnaught> ... No. We didn't recieve any help from one named Hope.
  580. <@YumaTsukumo> ...I see.
  581. <Onni> I am sorry. That you had to go through that.
  582. * @YumaTsukumo still, the Astrals did something to Hope for some reason. He thought maybe it was because he'd helped these guys, but guess not.
  583. <@Failnaught> ... I am considering if I should say something. But for right now, my priority is on finishing this. I don't say this out of spite or desire to rush you.
  584. <Onni> ...I suppose that's fair. I can only stall you for so long.
  585. * Onni it's Onni's turn to be, oddly masked of emotion, now.
  586. * @Failnaught so you admit to stalling me.
  587. <Onni> Rhondomyniad has 3 materials, which means he gains 1500 attack and defense, and cannot be destroyed by battle - or affected by other card effects.
  588. <Onni> As well, due to the inclusion of Extra Sword as an XYZ Material, he gains 1000 additional attack.
  589. <Onni> (4000/3000)
  590. <Onni> Soul Charge's activation means I skip my Battle Phase.
  591. <Onni> End turn.
  592. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  593. <@Failnaught> I switch Yamato to defense, and then discard Bujingi Ophidan, to target Susanowo.
  594. * @Failnaught a winged snake's ghostly image appears, wrapping itself around Susanowo's sword
  595. <@Failnaught> Rhondomyniad may be immune to effects, but it doesn't mean he'll negate any others.
  596. <Onni> ...?
  597. <@Failnaught> Susanowo can attack directly, for this turn!
  598. <Onni> !
  599. * @Failnaught Susanowo rushes past Rhondomyniad, slashing into Onni
  600. * Onni puts up a guard, but grits his teeth as the attack strikes.
  601. <Onni> (350 LP)
  602. <@Failnaught> ... Main phase 2. I set one monster, and enter the end phase. *Yamato opens his hand to show a Bujingi Centipede.* ... Send, please. *and it vanishes*
  603. <Onni> During your end phase, Enishi is detached from Number 86.
  604. * Onni one of the three swirling orbs fades and blinks out.
  605. <Onni> Rhongomyniad can be affected by other cards, though it still retains its other effects.
  606. <Onni> Draw.
  607. <Onni> Set one card.
  608. <Onni> Rhongomyniad attacks Bujintei Susanowo!
  609. * Onni Rhongomyniad approaches Susanowo solemnly, raising his spear and bringing it crashing down.
  610. * @Failnaught Susanowo takes the blow, shattering at the impact. [4700 LP]
  611. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...Young warrior-
  612. <Onni> I know.
  613. * Onni smiles, ruefully.
  614. <Onni> End turn.
  615. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  616. <@Failnaught> ... I banish the Bujingi Centipede from my graveyard to destroy your set card. *the Centipede's back to eat your card*
  617. * Onni another Battleguard Howling, chomped down.
  618. <@Failnaught> I then banish Susanowo, to bring out Bujin Hirume once more. *again, she appears on the field, the light glowing around her, like sunlight.*
  619. <@Failnaught> (2000 > 2100)
  620. * Onni once again eyes her, looking back at Failnaught.
  621. <@Failnaught> And then, I flip-summon Bujingi Crane. (1600 ATK)
  622. <@Failnaught> ... It's time. I'll make sure your spirits shine through, Hirume, Yamato. I construct the Overlay Network!
  623. * @Failnaught Hirume and Yamato nod solemnly, as they turn to dust into the Network with the Crane.
  624. <@Failnaught> You mentioned the assumption that I have a Number. I suppose this is the perfect time to prove your words to be correct.
  625. * Onni the corner of his mouth twitches slightly.
  626. <Onni> I tend to regret when I'm right.
  627. <@Failnaught> XYZ Summon, the golden archer who can shoot the very stars-- Number 102: Star Seraph Sentry! (2500 ATK)
  628. <Onni> Number 102...
  629. * @Failnaught the Overlay Network forms a definitely golden monster, a bow and arrow at ready, one of it's wings with a clear "102" on it. The arrow itself seems to be made of pure light.
  630. * Onni shields his eyes a bit.
  631. <@Failnaught> ... I'm sorry, Rhongomyniad. But I must do what I need to. I detach the Bujingi Crane, to halve Rhongomyniad's ATK, but also to negate his effect! *the orb of light enters into the arrow, making it shine, before it shoots it off, hitting the opposing Number.*
  632. <Onni> Rhongomyniad-
  633. * Onni he endures the blow, but a glow fades from his, and he looks decidedly mortal as he slumps, slightly.
  634. <Onni> (2000 ATK)
  635. <AlexandraGrant> ...
  636. <@Failnaught> ... However... While I'm sorry towards Rhongomyniad for what I have to do... I need to admit that I'm a bit angry, myself, at your words. I expect you to take my response.
  637. * AlexandraGrant lets out a low sigh. "It's over."
  638. <Onni> Do it, then.
  639. * Onni the words are a bitter edge.
  640. <@Failnaught> Activate my set card, Bujin Regalia - The Jewel! I attack it to a Rank 4 monster in my control: Star Seraph Sentry! *a great glowing contraption appears, attaching itself to 102. (2500 ATK > 3100 ATK)*
  641. <Onni> The Jewel, huh...
  642. <@Failnaught> I use The Jewel to attack Bujin Mikazuchi to Star Seraph Sentry as a material. (3100 > 3400 ATK) *as another mote of light appears around the Sentry.*
  643. <Onni> Gh...
  644. <@Failnaught> Take the feelings of my former allies-- the people I will never allow myself to forget-- as payment for your words. Star Seraph Sentry, attack! *a new arrow appears, an aura of light, lightning, and flames appearing around it, as the Sentry shoots it off. Going through Rhongomyniad, and into Onni in turn.*
  645. * Onni it piecerces straight through Rhongomyniad, and collides with Onni, knocking the wind out of him - and down to his knees.
  646. <Onni> (0000 LP - DEFEAT)
  647. <@YumaTsukumo> Onni!
  648. <Onni> M'fine... m'fine.
  649. * Onni breathing heavily and wincing a bit as he tries to push himself back to standing - he's. Not getting very far.
  650. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Mr. Haita!
  651. * @YumaTsukumo goes to help him up
  652. * AlexandraGrant Gongenzaka goes over to Onni to help him up. Alex has her eyes locked on Failnaught.
  653. * @Failnaught ... the Sentry vanishes, as a gust suddenly goes through the fortress, the curtains blowing open. It reveals that what was hidden... was a painting.
  654. * @Failnaught a painting of what seems to be a unicorn, yet somber.
  655. <Yuya> ..a painting...?
  656. * Onni kind of leans himself on Yuma and Gogenzaka, looking up as he gets to his feet.
  657. * @Failnaught it glows, as something leaves it, hovering to Failnaught. He reaches out, and takes it, carefully, as the light vanishes. A card.
  658. <AlexandraGrant> Hey.
  659. <AlexandraGrant> What's your name?
  660. <@Failnaught> ... Failnaught. I am Failnaught.
  661. <AlexandraGrant> Failnaught.
  662. <AlexandraGrant> Can possession of a Legendary Number be transferred after its been won?
  663. * Onni he's staring at you, Alex, you can't possibly mean to-
  664. <@Failnaught> ... Possibly.
  665. <AlexandraGrant> Let's find out.
  666. * AlexandraGrant raises her arm. Her hardlight disk appears.
  667. <AlexandraGrant> Duel me. The stakes are that Number you just won.
  668. <@Failnaught> ... You're the one who has Scythe within you, correct?
  669. <AlexandraGrant> ...
  670. * Onni ...just staring at you.
  671. <Onni> Scythe...?
  672. * AlexandraGrant closes her eyes briefly. A couple wisps of a red aura dance around her. Just for a second.
  673. * Onni ...his eyes narrow at Alex.
  674. <@Failnaught> ...
  675. * AlexandraGrant then opens her eyes, staring at Failnaught with a sad expression.
  676. <AlexandraGrant> Answer your question?
  677. * Onni 'Guess that answers that question...'
  678. <@Failnaught> ... It does. ... For someone who holds the power of my former friend, I am willing to accept this. But... I want to know one thing from you, if I'm to agree to anything such as that.
  679. <AlexandraGrant> ...alright. What is it?
  680. <@Failnaught> Scythes remains. Do you know what came of them?
  681. <Onni> ...You mean the actual scythe, correct?
  682. <AlexandraGrant> ...his weapon?
  683. <@Failnaught> Those are his remains, yes.
  684. <AlexandraGrant> ...
  685. <Onni> ...I've got them, back at the station.
  686. * AlexandraGrant reaches into her pocket. She pulls out a shard of rusted, beaten metal.
  687. * @Failnaught ... he looks sad, seeing that.
  688. <Onni> At least.. .some of them.
  689. * Onni he looks at Alex.
  690. * @Failnaught but he looks like. he's seen it before.
  691. <AlexandraGrant> I took this. I guess the police have the rest.
  692. * Onni nods.
  693. <AlexandraGrant> ...I'll put it up in this duel. Against the Number.
  694. <AlexandraGrant> If I lose, you can have it. For you and your allies.
  695. <@Failnaught> ... Thank you. I just want to bring it to the others.
  696. * AlexandraGrant quietly nods and puts the shard back in her pocket.
  697. * Onni ...he's not saying anything, mostly to keep from shooting his mouth off. But he's just giving Alexandra a narrowed look.
  698. * AlexandraGrant raises her disk. "But I can't let anybody interfere with that Number. So I have to win it back, right now."
  699. <@Failnaught> ... You have your reasons, and I understand that. ... Labrys did attempt to convince me to not come. She said she had made a promise to you, to try.
  700. <AlexandraGrant> ...yeah. And you have your reasons too. And the more I've learned about you guys, the less I can blame you for trying what you feel you have to.
  701. <AlexandraGrant> ....so that means words from either of us won't do anything else.
  702. <@Failnaught> Correct.
  703. * @Failnaught his disk activates once more, the deck shuffling.
  704. * AlexandraGrant 'Ready?' Galaxy-Eyes growls back. 'I'm ready. We will not fail a second time!' 'Yeah.'
  705. <AlexandraGrant> DUEL!
  706. <@Failnaught> Duel.
  707.
  708. --
  709.
  710. <AlexandraGrant> It's my turn!
  711. * AlexandraGrant 'Bujins are a dangerous deck that become stronger as the duel goes on and they load up their graveyard more...'
  712. <AlexandraGrant> ...
  713. <AlexandraGrant> Set one card face down. Turn end.
  714. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  715. * Onni leans on Yuma, eyes narrowed as he watches Alex.
  716. <@Failnaught> I activate Mystical Space Typhoon in the Standby Phase from my hand.
  717. * @Failnaught well there went your card.
  718. * AlexandraGrant Trap Stun is destroyed.
  719. <@Failnaught> I summon Bujin Yamato. (1800 ATK)
  720. <Onni> <Rhongo> ...You're irritated. <Onni> Mmhm. <Rhongo> ...About her. <Onni> Mmmm-hm.
  721. <Onni> <Rhongo> ...Do you wish to talk about it? <Onni> Nope.
  722. <@Failnaught> Yamato, attack directly. *the vaguely-owlhead like monster goes and punches through you, Alex.*
  723. * AlexandraGrant NOW I DISLIKE THIS MONSTER FOR TWO REASONS. (6200)
  724. <@YumaTsukumo> <Yuya> *Looks at Onni, looking a bit concenred* Is something... up... with you two?
  725. <@Failnaught> Main phase 2. I set two cards, and send Bujingi Peacock from my hand to add Bujin Hirume from my deck. The end phase begins. Yamato. *Yamato nods and makes a card appear in his hand. Bujingi Crane.* To hand, please. *Yamato nods, as the card teleports*
  726. * Onni looks at Yuya, kind of, sighing.
  727. <Onni> It's... well, it's a long story.
  728. * AlexandraGrant discard for Yamato's effect?
  729. * @Failnaught sends Bujingi Swallow
  730. <Onni> The short version is... we were friends, but now...
  731. <AlexandraGrant> My turn. Draw.
  732. * @YumaTsukumo and Yuya both look concerned and a little sad that they were once friends, but now are like this with each other.
  733. <AlexandraGrant> ...I discard Photon Double Saber. Special Summon Galaxy Soldier in defense position!
  734. <AlexandraGrant> (2000/0)
  735. <Onni> ...Well, now we can barely stand each other.
  736. <AlexandraGrant> When this card is special summoned, I can add 1 "Galaxy" monster from my deck to my hand.
  737. * AlexandraGrant 's deck ejects a card and she shows it.
  738. <AlexandraGrant> I add Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon to my hand.
  739. * @Kai "barely"? Kai thinks that to himself, listening to Onni talk to Yuya and Yuma-- he's gone pretty quiet during the duel, and he's mostly watching this new one now. but that's because he doesn't trust how he's feeling enough at the moment to open his mouth.
  740. <AlexandraGrant> Next I activate Galaxy Expedition. When I control a level 5 or higher Photon or Galaxy monster, I can special summon a level 5 or higher Galaxy or Photon monster from my deck in defense position!
  741. <AlexandraGrant> I control the level 5 Galaxy Soldier! From my deck, I special summon a level 8 Galaxy monster!
  742. <AlexandraGrant> Come forth, the embodiment of light! *A shining draconic form appears on Alex's field and roars.* GALAXY-EYES PHOTON DRAGON! (3000/2500)
  743. <@YumaTsukumo> Man, you shouldn't give up on your friendship! Maybe you're clashing now but... I used to clash with one of my friends back home all the time---
  744. <Onni> ...Galaxy-Eyes...
  745. * @Failnaught hnm... going out strong from the gate, it looks like.
  746. <AlexandraGrant> I'm not done yet. I still have my normal summon! Galaxy-Eyes Dustdragon!
  747. * AlexandraGrant a tiny Galaxy-Eyes with yellow markings on its armor appears and squeaks. (300/250)
  748. * @YumaTsukumo 's expression turns to sadness for a moment, before smiling a little through it, as he looks up at Galaxy-Eyes. "He and I used to have loads of different opinions and sometimes it resulted in us falling out... but things would always work out and we'd become friends again."
  749. * @Failnaught ... I didn't entirely expect a tiny version of the very large dragon that's in front of me right now.
  750. <AlexandraGrant> Galaxy-Eyes Dustdragon's effect! When I normal summon it when I control a level 8 Galaxy-Eyes monster, I can special summon a level 1 Galaxy-Eyes monster except Dustdragon from my deck! DUST CRY!
  751. * AlexandraGrant Dustdragon cries out. Another card ejects from Alex's deck. "I summon Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon!" ANOTHER TINY GALAXY-EYES. (300/250)
  752. * AlexandraGrant throws an arm out. "I'm tuning my level 1 Dustdragon and Cloudragon with my level 8 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
  753. * Onni ... he looks at Yuma. Sighing a bit.
  754. <AlexandraGrant> Surging silver energy at the end of the galaxy, become one with the ultimate light and show yourself! SYNCHRO SUMMON! (1+1+8=10)
  755. <Onni> ...Believe me, Yuma, there's nothing I'd like more, but Alex and I are both pretty subborn, so when it comes down to it...
  756. <AlexandraGrant> COME FORTH, LEVEL 10, GALAXY-EYES ELECTRON DRAGON!
  757. * AlexandraGrant a giant Galaxy-Eyes with silver armor and electricity crackling all over it appears, roaring loudly. (4000/2900)
  758. <@Failnaught> ... Hnm. Galaxy-Eyes...
  759. <AlexandraGrant> ...yeah.
  760. <AlexandraGrant> Just like Labrys uses, right?
  761. <@YumaTsukumo> So were me and Tetsuo!! It'll work out eventually, trust me!
  762. <Onni> ...Yeah, maybe.
  763. * Onni he doesn't sound very sure.
  764. <@Failnaught> ... Yes, but yours... It's different. I'm very certain I've heard of the Photon Dragon before, but parsing the memories takes time.
  765. <AlexandraGrant> ...yeah.
  766. <AlexandraGrant> Her memories aren't doing so well, either.
  767. * AlexandraGrant sighs.
  768. <AlexandraGrant> Scythe called her an Astral, though.
  769. <AlexandraGrant> And it...seems like he probably wasn't mistaken.
  770. <@Failnaught> ... He is likely correct. Ironic, really. I didn't expect to hear of two of them.
  771. <AlexandraGrant> Trust me, we were pretty surprised to see hers, too.
  772. <AlexandraGrant> Galaxy-Eyes thought she was the last of her kind for a long time.
  773. * AlexandraGrant cracks her neck. "Anyway."
  774. <@Failnaught> Yes, continue.
  775. <AlexandraGrant> Sorry, but I've fought my share of Bujin decks in the pro. They're pretty nasty when they start loading up the graveyard.
  776. <AlexandraGrant> So I'm gonna go for the kill straight off on this one.
  777. <AlexandraGrant> Go! Galaxy-Eyes Electron Dragon! Attack Bujin Yamato!
  778. <AlexandraGrant> HAMETSU NO ELECTRON BARRAGE!
  779. * AlexandraGrant Electron Dragon shoots into the air, its body becoming charged with electricity as it drops back down at Yamato.
  780. * @Failnaught Yamato is dropped on-- he gets destroyed instantly like that. [5800 LP]
  781. <AlexandraGrant> If this card destroys a monster by battle, it can attack once more in a row!
  782. <AlexandraGrant> HAMETSU NO ELECTRON BARRAGE!
  783. * @Failnaught well this isn't going to be enjoyable
  784. * AlexandraGrant and now the electricity is intensifying and it's dropping on Failnaught next.
  785. * @Failnaught dropped on. let's just say he doesn't have a good time of being shocked to near-0. [1800 LP]
  786. <AlexandraGrant> Turn end.
  787. <@Failnaught> Ghn... Draw.
  788. * AlexandraGrant Electron Dragon comes back to Alex's field.
  789. * Onni his eyes are only narrowing further, digging his nails into his palm.
  790. <@YumaTsukumo> <Yuya> Wow. She brought his LP down so fast...
  791. <Onni> Alex has always been pretty good in a duel.
  792. <Onni> ...And pretty ruthless.
  793. <@Failnaught> I banish the Bujingi Swallow in my graveyard. Summon, Bujin Hirume. (2000 ATK) *she steps onto the field*
  794. <Onni> She used to run Dark Armed Dragon, back in the day.
  795. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Eh, her big dragons ain't so impressive.... *Still a little chafed about losing to Alex? Yeah, maybe.*
  796. * Onni that feeling never goes away, Yuzu.
  797. * Onni never.
  798. <@Failnaught> Next, I summon Bujingi Quilin. (1600 ATK) Hirume, I'm going to overlay you with Quilin. *Hirume nods, as she and the Quilin turn to dust in the Overlay Network.*
  799. * AlexandraGrant 'Crap, which one...'
  800. <@Failnaught> XYZ Summon, the glowing warrior. Bujintei Susanowo! (2400 ATK)
  801. * AlexandraGrant 's eyes narrow. 'With Crane in his hand...crap...'
  802. <@Failnaught> I remove the material of Bujingi Quilin.
  803. <@Failnaught> I add a new Hirume to hand.
  804. <@Failnaught> Susanowo attacks the Electron Dragon, and during the calculation, I send the Bujingi Crane from my hand.
  805. * AlexandraGrant grimaces.
  806. <AlexandraGrant> Putting it at 4800...
  807. * @Failnaught the ghostly image of the Crane appears over Susanowo, raising it's ATK score, yes
  808. * @Failnaught Susanowo slices through Electron Dragon
  809. * AlexandraGrant Electron Dragon roars as it's bifurcated. Alex grunts and stumbles back. (5400 LP)
  810. <@Failnaught> Susanowo can attack all monsters you control once each.
  811. <@Failnaught> Attack the Soldier! *Susanowo turns his sword and slices through Galaxy Soldier without a second thought*
  812. * AlexandraGrant Soldier gets mowed down. Alex grimaces.
  813. <@Failnaught> I end my turn. *Susanowo returns to his rightful place after wiping out your field*
  814. * AlexandraGrant 'So much for ending it quick...now my field's empty again...'
  815. <AlexandraGrant> My turn. Draw!
  816. * @Failnaught at least the ATK score isn't 4800 anymore.
  817. * AlexandraGrant 'Ah, crap, I'm gonna lose...'
  818. <AlexandraGrant> Set one card, end turn.
  819. <@Failnaught> I activate the Mystical Space Typhoon in response. *one of his set cards flip up, showing that. well, there went your card*
  820. * AlexandraGrant Divine Wrath pops. Alex smacks a hand to her forehead with an audible 'WHAP'.
  821. <@YumaTsukumo> Ouch...!
  822. <Onni> It's just like my duel... every time you think you've managed to gain control, they just whittle your field down to nothing all over again.
  823. <@Failnaught> Draw.
  824. <@Failnaught> ... I remove the material of Hirume from Susanowo. I add Bujin Yamato.
  825. * AlexandraGrant tilts her head up.
  826. <AlexandraGrant> Dammit.
  827. * AlexandraGrant places her hand on the top of her deck.
  828. * @Failnaught ... he bows his head.
  829. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> She...she surrendered?!
  830. * @Failnaught Susanowo vanishes
  831. <@Failnaught> You understood what was going to happen. I accept your surrender.
  832. <Onni> Once Susanowo is on the field...
  833. <Onni> It's near impossible to wrest control back of a duel.
  834. <AlexandraGrant> You would've normal summon Yamato and special summon Hirume...I was done.
  835. * AlexandraGrant reaches into her pocket.
  836. * @Failnaught ... he walks over to receive it properly
  837. * AlexandraGrant takes out the shard of busted up metal. She holds it out for Failnaught to take.
  838. <AlexandraGrant> ...look, just. I'm not asking you to trust me just because of this, but.
  839. <AlexandraGrant> If we've managed to understand each other a little more 'cause of today....try and hold off on doing anything too crazy with the Legendary Numbers, okay?
  840. <AlexandraGrant> I really think something bad'll happen if they're abused.
  841. <@Failnaught> ... I'll try. But you need to understand. I am doing this because this is my hope. Or at least, the last hope I can believe in right now. *he takes the piece* But... I can understand the concern that something bad might happen. Labrys seems to be uncertain herself, about them.
  842. <@Failnaught> Speaking of "hope", however...
  843. * @Failnaught he looks at Yuma directly, when he says that
  844. * @YumaTsukumo 's eyes widen curiously as he does
  845. <@Failnaught> You questioned before, if we were ever assisted by one named Hope.
  846. * @YumaTsukumo nods
  847. <@Failnaught> I denied it, and that is not false. But I am aware of a Hope. It's a memory I know very well.
  848. <@YumaTsukumo> So, you DO know Hope?!
  849. <@Failnaught> Yes. ... I take it however, by your question before, that you do not know much about Hope? Or perhaps... It's that his memory has failed him, too?
  850. * @YumaTsukumo nods again. "Yeah. He doesn't have his memory. All he knows is that the 'Astrals' sound familiar to him, so we've been trying to find out why!
  851. <@Failnaught> ... Since you are one who was wronged by one of us before, I can, at the least, put your curiosity to rest.
  852. * @YumaTsukumo 's eyes light up at that. "We'd really appriciate that!"
  853. <Onni> It's definitely something...
  854. <@Failnaught> The "Hope" I know of... Was an Astral who was sent to stop our previous attempt at fixing our world, our situation, by forming a being known as "Durendal". ... A goal he succeeded at, and has, as a result, led to our currently dire state.
  855. * @YumaTsukumo , yeah, that hopeful look on his face? It just fell a little into shock.
  856. * @Failnaught that's no surprise
  857. <@YumaTsukumo> Hope's... an Astral?!
  858. <AlexandraGrant> ...!
  859. * AlexandraGrant 's eyes widen as well.
  860. <AlexandraGrant> But....!
  861. * Onni his eyebrows shoot into his hairline.
  862. <@Failnaught> ... If he's the same Hope I remember, then yes. He is undeniably an Astral.
  863. <AlexandraGrant> Hope was imprisoned in the prison dimension...by Galaxy-Eyes! Both Yuma and I saw that memory!
  864. <AlexandraGrant> Why would she imprison another Astral!?
  865. <@YumaTsukumo> Y-Yeah, that's right!!
  866. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> ....I still don't remember why I did that...
  867. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes' apparition has appeared.
  868. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...If I may make a suggestion.
  869. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> But I remember deep regret associated with the action of imprisoning Hope.
  870. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> It is not...impossible. That we were once allies.
  871. <@Failnaught> *he was about to say something, but he waits when Rhongomyniad speaks* A suggestion?
  872. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...It may be that, much like mine own regret, Hope's own actions may have lead to a situation where he was imprisoned, as well.
  873. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> Gone afoul of the other Astrals, perhaps.
  874. <@Failnaught> ... I don't know that, specifically. But... Perhaps either something occurred, as a result of attacking Durendal, or the one named Hope had second thoughts about what he did. ... The Astrals are not purely terrible beings. I blame them for the state that we're in, now. I will never forgive them. But as much as I hold ire, I know they're not all of one thought, one mind. But I do know that the ones who seem to guide their paths... are not forgiving.
  875. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> ...Mine own memory is still scattered, but perhaps the situations are not wholly dissimilar.
  876. <@Failnaught> The act of erasing memories, making those who assist us disappear, or meet disaster, much like the Bujin...
  877. <@YumaTsukumo> The other Barians before said that the Astrals would wipe the memories of their own kind...
  878. <Onni> ...The Astrals were behind the fall of the Bujin, as well?
  879. * @Failnaught ... he nods
  880. <Onni> ...Then perhaps it is them finishing what they started, that I saw - it was... something big. Something I couldn't even begin to fathom.
  881. <AlexandraGrant> ....
  882. * AlexandraGrant slowly crosses her arms and looks down.
  883. <@Failnaught> ... You mentioned a spear, correct?
  884. <Onni> I did.
  885. <Onni> We retrieved it from a tower which was... I guess, where the majority of all the fighting had happened.
  886. <@Failnaught> ... The Bujin were developing a way to help us. They said it was a possible method of moving our world out of the chaotic space, to help slow or even stop the deterioration.
  887. <Onni> ...Amenonuhoko.
  888. <Onni> The Heavenly Spear.
  889. <Onni> ...But it's incomplete. The legend goes that the spear is supposed to be decorated with jewels, but-
  890. <Onni> There's nothing but empty slots on the spear we found.
  891. * @Koyo holding his head as you two talking, wincing in pain.
  892. <Onni> Whatever the Bujin were hoping to do... the Astrals got to them before they could finish it.
  893. * @Kai isn't visibly pained but he's. quiet.
  894. <@Failnaught> ... I expected that. Perhaps that's the only reason why it wasn't destroyed.
  895. <Onni> ...Unless that's why they were planning to wipe their world out when we were there.
  896. * Onni he folds his arms, shaking his head.
  897. <@Failnaught> ... It's possible. ... Whatever the Bujin were going to do to complete the spear, I'm eternally thankful for their efforts. But... You can see the clear consequences of what happens, when we try to find allies. I have seen it many times. Repeatedly. Over and over again.
  898. <@Failnaught> It... tires me.
  899. <Onni> ...
  900. <@Koyo> Why both when it ends with them murdered, jailed or suffering amensia.
  901. <Onni> Well.
  902. <@Koyo> *bother
  903. <Onni> I had plans to talk to some friends of mine.
  904. <Onni> Who had brought the spear's attention to me.
  905. * AlexandraGrant 's grip on her arms tightens at Failnaght's words. She stares at the ground.
  906. <Onni> ...Maybe that have an idea on how we can complete it.
  907. * Onni he looks at the ground.
  908. <Onni> If we can.
  909. * @YumaTsukumo clenches a fist as he hears the conversation, also staring at the ground.
  910. <Onni> The Astrals don't know we have the spear. I don't even think they knew we were there.
  911. <Onni> ...But the only one who might know how to finish it is probably...
  912. <Onni> Bujinki Amaterasu.
  913. <@Failnaught> ... I'm sorry, again.
  914. <@Failnaught> I don't know where the one you know as Amaterasu is.
  915. <Onni> ...It's fine.
  916. <Onni> I'll just have to find another way to track her down.
  917. <@Koyo> The question... ::Wince:: What are the jewels... and the Ame-no-Nuhoko is the spear that raised Japan from the ocean floor, specifically... hrm... ... g...
  918. <Onni> ...There was a theory I had pitched. I dunno if it does any good here.
  919. <Onni> But there are seven slots for jewels on the spear.
  920. * @Failnaught ... looking at Koyo, and Kai who's kinda curled up. ... hnm. Why are these two humans reacting so negatively?
  921. * Onni holds up a hand, counting them off.
  922. <Onni> Fire. Water. Wind. Earth. Ligh. Dark.
  923. <Onni> Divine.
  924. <@Failnaught> ... Maybe. Or maybe it is that they need seven separate energy sources, and not just those of the elements. ... However, it might not be my business to point this out.
  925. <@Failnaught> But two of your number seem to be of failing health.
  926. * Onni he looks at Kai and Koyo.
  927. <Onni> ...Yeah.
  928. <Onni> We should get back to the ship but-
  929. <Onni> ...Keep in touch, alright, Failnaught? I'll let you know if I make any progress on the Ame-no-Nuhoko for you.
  930. <@Failnaught> ... If I keep in touch, can you see about returning the rest of Scythe's remains?
  931. <Onni> ...Yeah. No sense keeping them around when I know what happened there, now.
  932. <Onni> You should have 'em.
  933. <Onni> We should have the rest, there was only the one piece missing.
  934. <@Failnaught> ... Good.
  935. * Onni he pushes himself off of Yuma, and holds out a hand.
  936. <@Failnaught> I have no hope that I could have ever restored him, especially since his power is now within another. ... But his remains should still be with the others.
  937. <Onni> Yeah.
  938. * @Failnaught ... ... ... takes the hand, and shakes it. It's the least he can do about this.
  939. <@Koyo> ... You keep the remains of your kind?
  940. * @Failnaught he feels cold, though.
  941. <@Failnaught> ... Yes.
  942. <@Failnaught> Hundreds.
  943. * Onni ...that's interesting, but. File away for later.
  944. <@Koyo> Any reason other than sentimentality, if... ::Leans back.:: You don't mind me asking?
  945. <@Failnaught> ... We have... a slight hope.
  946. <@Failnaught> Durendal... The reason we attempt to create him, is that he's capable of creating a miracle.
  947. <Onni> Sounds like we're working off of a lot of miracles here, ourselves.
  948. <@Failnaught> Yes. ... But that hope is gone, long as Moralltach and Beagalltach are gone.
  949. <@Koyo> And making 'him' I assume takes more than two Level 5 monsters? ::Groaning, drumming his fingers, slowly, over and over.:: ... ah.
  950. <@Failnaught> If it were simply that, we might have had a chance without them. But they are the only ones capable of forming a true Durendal. They are... Two halves of a whole.
  951. * @Kai hey did you guys just hear a thump. ... Koyo your brother's flopped to the side. he seems to be unconscious. yeah right "dust", he definitely was ill again.
  952. <AlexandraGrant> <Yuzu> Kai!
  953. <Onni> The Great Fury and The Little Fury. Sibling swords, given to the folk hear Diarmid.
  954. <@YumaTsukumo> <Yuya> KAI!!
  955. <Onni> E-Eh!?
  956. * AlexandraGrant Yuzu bends down to Kai and puts her hands on his shoulders. Alex watches, eyes widening.
  957. * @Failnaught Sadame's also pretty alarmed by his student collapsing out of nowhere like that, going over quickly.
  958. * Onni keeps his distance. Not out of lack of concern, but because the others are quick to rush over.
  959. <@Failnaught> ... I think we need to cut this conversation short.
  960. <Onni> I'm afraid you might be right.
  961. * @Koyo tries to reach for his brother, before falling over himself, groaning in pain.
  962. <@Failnaught> ... I will either come to you, or... One of the others will come. *he opens up a gate*
  963. * @Koyo holding his head with both hands.
  964. <@YumaTsukumo> <Yuya> Koyo!
  965. <Onni> Give Labrys my regards, Failnaught.
  966. <Onni> And... good duel.
  967. <@YumaTsukumo> <Yuya> *Goes over to Koyo to check on him*
  968. <@Failnaught> ... I hope those two will be alright.
  969. * @Failnaught he steps through, vanishing
  970. * Onni nods, turning to the others.
  971. <Onni> Alright, that's enough supernatural exposition for today.
  972. * @Sadame carefully trying to pick Kai up. Yeah, he's entirely out cold, and he looks pale.
  973. <Onni> Who can carry these two back to the ship? Arms up if you're willing.
  974. <@Sadame> I can carry this one.
  975. <AlexandraGrant> <Gongenzaka> I'll help.
  976. <Onni> Alright.
  977. * AlexandraGrant Gongenzaka picks up Koyo. He's a big young man.
  978. <@Sadame> *nods* Thank you. Come, we should go, quickly.
  979. <Onni> ...You guys go.
  980. <Onni> I gotta talk with Grant for a minute.
  981. * AlexandraGrant Gongenzaka nods. He heads back towards the ship. Yuzu follows.
  982. <Onni> You mind, Alex?
  983. * @Sadame ... nods himself. and goes, carrying Kai.
  984. * AlexandraGrant starts to walk off as well and pauses.
  985. * @YumaTsukumo looks over at Onni and nods, before he and Yuya follow the others
  986. <Onni> It won't take long, we'll be back on the ship before you're ready to launch.
  987. * AlexandraGrant watches everyone else go.
  988. * Onni ... watches as the others clear out, too.
  989. * Onni he only speaks up once he's sure everyone's gone-
  990. <Onni> You coulda told me you were the one who stopped that incident in the shopping district, you know.
  991. <Onni> Would've saved me a lot of trouble puzzling over the scene you left behind.
  992. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> Is that truly what you stopped us for.
  993. <Onni> I got a lot on my mind.
  994. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes looks and sounds impatient. Alex says nothing and isn't even facing Onni.
  995. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> Then speak. You have a tongue, use it.
  996. <Onni> Alright, fine.
  997. <Onni> I finally figured out what's pissing me off about the way you're acting right now, Alex.
  998. <Onni> So I figured I'd call you out on it.
  999. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes' eyes narrow. Alex doesn't respond.
1000. <Onni> And it's funny, because I never took you for the selfish type.
1001. <Onni> You barely waited till I hit the floor before leaping at the chance to take down Failnaught.
1002. <Onni> And it finally clicked for me why.
1003. <Onni> I'm not saying you don't care about Yuma and Yuya - anyone with a pair of eyes can see that.
1004. <Onni> ...But you sure are trying pretty hard to play the hero whenever they're around.
1005. <Onni> Almost like you can think a little less shitty of yourself if you can just keep taking people down for them.
  1006. <Onni> You're a glory hound.
  1007. <Onni> Plain and simple.
1008. <Onni> And I don't know when that became what you were about... but it's definitely been pissing me off.
  1009. <AlexandraGrant> ....
1010. * AlexandraGrant takes in a long breath and lets it out. She starts to turn.
1011. * AlexandraGrant when a large, glowing, clawed hand touches Onni's shoulder.
  1012. <Onni> !?
1013. * AlexandraGrant and throws him at a wall.
  1014. * Onni HURK.
  1015. <AlexandraGrant> !
1016. * Onni he slumps against the wall - not out cold, but wincing.
  1017. <Onni> Ugh...
1018. * AlexandraGrant turns fully, looking surprised. Galaxy-Eyes' appraition walks towards him.
1019. * Onni RHongomyniad starts to appear, between Galaxy-Eyes and Onni.
1020. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> I was quite clear last time. And you still insist on throwing around your pretty words, with none of the integrity to back them up with the necessary actions.
1021. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> I warned you what would happen if you did this again.
1022. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes thrusts an arm out. A hardlight disc appears on it.
1023. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> I told you that I would become your enemy next.
  1024. <Onni> ...Heh.
  1025. <Onni> Back off, Rhongomyniad.
  1026. <Onni> <Rhongomyniad> But- <Onni> I said, back off.
1027. * Onni ...he cautiously steps aside, as Onni pushes himself back to his feet.
1028. <Onni> Fine. You wanna do this?
  1029. <Onni> I'm game.
1030. <Onni> Alex wants to hide behind you while calling me spineless!? That's fine too!
  1031. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes snarls.
1032. <Onni> Cause I know what I'm saying is the truth.
1033. <Onni> If she wants to hate herself for what she did when everyone else forgave her, that's none of -my- business.
1034. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes starts to advance, but a hand presses against her chest, stopping her.
  1035. <AlexandraGrant> Don't.
1036. * AlexandraGrant is standing in front of Galaxy-Eyes, a grimace on her face.
  1037. <AlexandraGrant> Please.
1038. * Onni looks at Alexandra, and back up at Galaxy-Eyes.
  1039. <Onni> ...
1040. <Onni> If Galaxy-Eyes wants to duel me for what I'm saying, Alex...
  1041. <Onni> That's their business.
  1042. <AlexandraGrant> He's not worth it, Galaxy-Eyes.
1043. * AlexandraGrant says that very flatly, as Onni speaks.
  1044. * Onni laughs, bitterly.
1045. * AlexandraGrant Galaxy-Eyes growls quietly. After staring at Onni, then at Alex....her disk fades.
1046. <Onni> Yeah, I'm just a old geezer who's way out of the game.
1047. <Onni> What should you care what I have to say?
1048. <Onni> Look, Alex, you wanna keep helping Yuma and Yuya, by all means.
1049. <Onni> ...But I never blamed you for the Dark Signer shit, and I never have.
1050. <Onni> So I'm not gonna be part of your heroic little pity party.
1051. * Onni he starts to turn away from them.
1052. <Onni> ...And I know better than anyone else, if you're trying to play the hero while you're still messed up-
  1053. <Onni> You aren't helping -anyone-.
  1054. <AlexandraGrant> Hey, Onni.
  1055. <Onni> Yeah, Alex?
1056. <AlexandraGrant> You said Amaterasu was the only one who knew how to finish whatever it was you found, right?
  1057. <Onni> Yeah.
1058. <AlexandraGrant> Too bad Galaxy-Eyes threw her into that hole.
  1059. <AlexandraGrant> She's probably dead.
1060. * AlexandraGrant said completely evenly, like she doesn't think it's 'too bad' at all.
1061. * AlexandraGrant strides right past Onni.
1062. * Onni he stops, for just a moment.
1063. * Onni and then whirls around and swings a fist right for your jaw as you walk past.
1064. * AlexandraGrant gets clocked. She stumbles back. Galaxy-Eyes doesn't react, but just lets out a low sigh, like she saw that coming.
1065. * AlexandraGrant puts a hand on her mouth, which a little blood is leaking from. She looks up at Onni, a little smirk on her face.
  1066. <AlexandraGrant> Oh, right.
1067. <AlexandraGrant> You were attached to her, huh.
  1068. <AlexandraGrant> -Whoops-.
  1069. <AlexandraGrant> <Galaxy-Eyes> Alexandra. <Alex> Yeah. I'm done.
1070. <Onni> ...Funny, you talk a bigger game than you used to, Grant.
1071. * AlexandraGrant continues out of the temple, back towards the ship.
1072. <Onni> But you didn't grow up at all.
  1073. <Onni> ...C'mon, Rhongomyniad. Ship's waiting.
1074. * Onni he follows you out, glaring daggers at your back the whole way.
