  2. 1) Moderators have (bright) red, purple, and blue names. If one of us asks you to do or not do something, please listen. All rules are subject to moderator judgment. We can ban you even if you didn't do something on this list. Do not mention-spam Mods, Staff, or Admins even if there is an issue. Only mention Mods that are online (not IDLE)!
  3.
  4. 2) Do not spam, swear, or use hate speech. Don't get aggressive with other users. Be chilled out and have fun, relaxed conversations.
  5.
  6. 3) Only advertise servers and post server IPs in #servers. Only advertise modpacks and post modpack links in #platform-packs .
  7.
  8. 4) Stay out of #tech-help unless you are giving or receiving technical help. Moderators are extra-aggressive against trolls in #tech-help so that we can keep it clear for people who need it.
  9.
  10. 5) Don't upload exe (or other potentially dangerous file types) into any channel unless a moderator specifically asks you to. Even if you're just trying to be helpful, don't do it!
  11.
  12. 6) Don't impersonate people you are not! ಠ_ಠ(edited)
  13. 7) Please don't post your personal information. This is the internet, you don't know what kind of creeps hang out here!
  14.
  15. 8) Please keep chat English-language. It's nothing personal, many of us staff are dumb Americans, and we can't moderate chat we can't read!
  16.
  17. 9) When advertising in #servers and #platform-packs, be wary about how your advertisement makes the channel look. Don't post ads more often than every 4-6 hours in any circumstance, and only re-post your ad if the chat is moving fast enough that your old ad was pushed off the last few pages of chat. If a moderator asks you to slow your roll, please comply.
  18.
  19. 10) While #general is a fun bag of screaming cats, consider taking your chats to the side channels. For instance, if you want to talk about how great Hexxit is, consider taking it to #hexxit. If you're looking for a server, look in #servers. These side-chats are quieter, but you find more people interested in the same things as you, so there's more signal and less noise. This will make a better chat experience for everyone!
  20. 11) Don't pass around scams, pirated software, stolen accounts, or whatever other shady garbage in here. We shouldn't even have to tell you this.
  21.
  22. 12) Direct Messaging isn't a red phone to the moderators. Don't DM anyone who hasn't asked you to. Same with Friend Requests. Do not friend request spam mods or staff, including members who ask you to stop. You will be insta-banned.
  23.
  24. 13) Mods, Staff, and Admins are the Moderators. No one else. Do not order your peers around; Do not chime in when a Moderator is moderating, you butt out; Do not laugh at or mock those who get repremanded, as it is not your place to. You're all Community Members, do not act like you are above that. This rule is taken very seriously; do not argue if a Moderator says you are breaking it.
  25.
  26. 14) This is a public server. If you are testing bot(s), this isn't the place; you can easily make your own server or use one of the existing servers on the topic.
  27.
  28. 15) Ascended members are trusted and experienced members of the community. In their time here, they have proven themselves to Mods and Staff. It is an honoray rank bestowed on community members. Treat them as a Moderator when Mod or Staff members are not around.
