  3. Sentenced in Pictou Co Court to 60 days in jail for seizure of marijuana which had been grown for medical purposes.
  4. Mr. MacDonald had had a Medical Card to grow Marijuana legally, however, it expired. He received a new card in the mail after the seizure and arrest.

  6. Mr. MacDonald was sentenced and remanded on Jan 9, 2014 to Burnside Correctional Facility.

  8. Mr. MacDonald has NO medication with him to treat an ongoing illness which the marijuana had been required for.

  10. Firearms found in the home which are used for hunting and which were safely stored have also been seized.

  12. Even though he has now been issued a new Medical License to grow, his equipment has been seized as well.

  15. "I have Crohn's Disease, it affects my life on a daily basis. I am forced to take a cocktail of pills including Opiates and my monthly Immune Supression infusions.
  16. My life revolves around constant illness, being sick and in pain.
  17. I have been unable to work in several years now because of my illness.
  18. I qualified for and received a permit to grow cannabis from the MMAR for medical purposes several times before and currently hold a permit to possess.
  19. The courts have already shown the MMAR to be restrictive and not provide reasonable access to such patients who suffer debilitating illness such as myself.
  20. After being charged for production the newspaper falsely reported I was charged for trafficking." Jamie MacDonald.

  22. Mr MacDonald has been remanded and is Burnside. He needs monthly Remicade for Crohn's Disease and he is currently not able to receive the treatments and no Medical Marijuana Access.

  25. Another court case at the same time fined a person for trafficking and possessing Bath Salts which are known to be a dangerous drug and in particular dangerous to youth, but did not receive jail time. Jamie MacDonald received jail time for possessing medical marijuana.
  26. The Pictou County system is incredibly flawed.
